Five: Could A Friendship Be Blooming?

(Old writing. Not edited yet )

"Can you not!" I yell, slapping Austin's giant finger away from my face. Austin playfully frowns at me, continuing to slowly walk back upstairs to his room. His giant friend follows behind us, stomping up the stairs until he's next to Austin. I could feel Jace looking at me out the corner of his eye, sitting in Austin's palm. It turned my eyes to see a small smile appearing across his lips as he studies my small frame. I look away from his gaze and look to the top of the stairs, awkwardly fumbling with my fingers.

I needed a shower after being covered in bacon grease, I could feel the grease seeping into my pores by the second

Jace Stevens, form what I gathered is Austin's friend, who had decided to turn up at their house unannounced. Turns out he also didn't know that me and mum were here. Also, Jace hadn't had breakfast. So when he fell down into his seat at the table, making the whole table shake like an earth quake, he nearly knocked me and mum off the table.

I remember mum telling me a story about when she had fallen from a giants desk at work, because her boss (who is a giant) got angry and slammed his fists on the table. She was the assistant at the time and shed explained to me how her boss was mad at an employee for showing up late for the third time in a row. Her boss had slammed his fists on the table and he scared mum, making her stumble away and fall from the edge of his table. She would go on to explain a heroic giant that came to her rescue, catching her in mid air, as she was plummeting to her death. Guess who that was... Brian.

I hate being carried. I'm still not use to being carried like a doll in the hands of a giant. I remember the dolls I had, now sitting in my cupboard collecting dust back home. It's a never ending roller coaster, and I have no control over when it stops.

Placing me now on the desk, next to my little house, Austin introduces Jace and I. He says Jace is a close friend to him and have been friends since grade 8. He then continues to explain that Jace likes humans. A lot. Jace smiles a little at that and then looks at me, I look away. Austin hits Jace on the back in a friendly manner, then turns and walks off towards his cupboard. Leaving me and Jace to stare at each other in silence.

Jace smiles, and I smile awkwardly back. Jace rubs the back of his neck and I pull at a loose strand on my shirt.

"Don't be so shy, talk noobs" me and Jace turn to see Austin fumbling with something in his closet. He spins around to look at me then Jace, "Go on. I know Jace won't bite, he's to nice. But I can't say the same thing for you shorty" Austin laughs and turns back to his closet, looking through all his clothes. I make a sound similar to a growl, glaring at the nickname .

I look back up at Jace, whose looking back down at me with eyes as curious as a cat with its prey. And I was it's prey. He smiles, such a bright beautiful smile with a glimmer of amusement behind his eyes. He begins crouching down to eye level, his hands moving towards me as he gets down on his knees in front of the desk. I look up at him, my heart hammering in my chest as a small smile appears on his face again.

"Tessa is it?" He begins, looking over his shoulder once at Austin before looking back down at me in front of him. His voice isn't deep like Austin's and Brian's, more husky.

"Ye-yeah, but call me Tess. Or whatever, I-I don't mind" I shrug, feeling my palms sweating by my sides. Jace nods, his eyes wander up and down my small body in front of him. He's not as big as Austin, but still big compared to me! Everyone and anyone whose a giant is GIANT compared to me and any other human.

"Can I hold you?" The sudden pop of the question makes me look up. Jace is still hovering down to get closer to me, his hands holding the edge of the table for support. I look at Austin, whose turned around and is now nodding his head at me. I turn to look back at Jace, his eyes widening down at me. His light short brown hair is covered with a black cap, his blue eyes staring at me in awe.

"S-sure" I stutter, I don't want to be held but I don't want to make him mad or upset. Jace smiles, his hands move to the top of the desk and he starts inching his hand towards me standing on the desk. I step back a little as his hands inch closer and closer and closer. I look back at Austin, his back now facing me. My heart and inside feel like they're filling with lava, everything feels like it's burning then being sat on by a fat man who likes eating pizza.

Jace hands stop just in front of my legs, his fingers nearly brushing my knees. I take a shuddering breath at the huge hands that are resting in front of me. Hands that could crush the life out of me. Hands that can pick me up and defy gravity. Hands that can drop me and I'd be a puddle of Tess blood and guts on the ground.

"She's not use to being around giants yet" I turn to see Austin now standing over me. His green eyes flicking between Jace's hands and me. He wants me to get on. Jace looks up at Austin, leaving his hands resting in front of me. I stare at his long fingers. His fingers are longer then Austin's, their longer then me!

"Oh" Jace looks back down at me, his blue eyes becoming sad, "I'm sorry, I didn't know" his hands start retreating back to his sides. My heart aches at how sad he looks, I feel bad.

"I'm okay" I blurt, looking at Austin whose eyes are widening down at me, "you can hold me" I swallow hard and force a smile, looking at Jace who's eye become the size of melons, huge melons. He smiles, wide and bright. His hands come back up from under the table and move towards me again.

"Are you sure?" Jace asks, his left hand inching closer then the right.

"Of course I'm sure" I lie. I force a smile again. I don't even think before I do it. It just happens. I step forwards without realising it, I've stepped into his hand! I sit down like the speed of light, falling onto my butt like a sack of potatoes and pretend that I don't care, even though my hearts leaping out of my chest. Austin rolls his eyes at me and turns around and walks back to his cupboard.

"Your okay, I'm not going to hurt you" Jace whispers loudly. I nod, my neck aches when I look back up at Jace's face. He smiles, his eyes never leaving me as hands begin lifting off the ground... Table.

I breathe heavily through my nose, my mouth stays glued shut in case I scream. If I open my mouth I know I'll scream. I stare at a spot on Jace's cupped hands, starring at the details that swirl around his skin. I don't look up or down, just at his hand.

"This is weird" Jace whispers above me. His voice startles me a bit but I regain composure and look up to giving him a are-you-kidding-me look. He looks surprised when I look at him, his eyes bulging a bit out of his head.

"Your telling me" I say, gesturing to the large hand I'm sitting on at the moment. I immediately freeze on the spot, seeing that Jace stood up and I'm now being held hundreds of metres above the ground, maybe even thousands!

"Yeh... Oh Sorry, I'll put you down now" Jace hands begin lowering back down towards the desk, getting down onto his knees he carefully drops his hands on top of the desk. I scramble off his hands and onto the table, literally jumping to safety towards the desk.

"You have trust issues Tessy" Austin appears over me again, his hand already moving towards me to grab me from the desk. I freeze on the spot, all my muscles tighten and I watch motionless at the giant hand coming at me.

"You need to relax, we aren't going to hurt you" Austin's fingers flex open, gently wrapping his digits around me. I'm once again lifted off my feet and up into the air. I grab onto Austin's fingers for support as he brings me up to his face. Looking down at me a smile spreads across his lips.

"Seriously? Put me down!" I punch Austin's finger, also trying to kicking him but fail as his fingers tighten around me. I don't like being held! I'd kill to be the same size as Austin, so that I can slap him or punch him or... HIT HIM!

"Not until you and Jace actually talk to each other. Here" Austin's turns to Jace, holding me out for Jace to take me.

Jace's hands shoot up from his sides and come up under Austin's to take me. Austin's fingers unwrap from around me and he plops me into Jace's awaiting palm. I land feet first. My knees buckle and I crumple to my knees onto the softish surface of Jace's palm. I groan, falling back into Jace's hands I hold my now throbbing head. I don't care if Jace thinks this is weird, my head hurts.

"Sorry shorty" I open my eyes and yelp at Austin's huge head hovering over me, leaning in even more he looks at me with his giant orbs.

"Have you ever heard of personal space?" I try kicking Austin in the face but miss. The top of my foot brushes his chin, but I miss. I was aiming for his cheek, but he moves. Austin stands back up to his full height, towering over me he gives me a surprised look. Bringing his hands to his chin he rubs the attempted attacked area.

"Okay, you deserved that" Jace laughs above me, his hands bounce a little as he laughs. I look back up at Jace, giving him a smile. He winks and I quickly look away, looking in front of me at Austin rubbing his chin.

•••

I can tell that Jace likes humans. A lot. Because he is now playing with my hair and pinching my cheeks. After talking and Jace holding me a little, I've gotten use to Jace. He's really nice and he has also relaxed up a bit around me.

Only downside, he's treating me like a baby. Why do giants treat me like I'm a helpless baby who can't do anything for myself. I feel like screaming my head off, IM NOT A BABY!

I can already tell that Jace is very different to Austin, the complete opposite actually. He's much more... loving? He reminds me a lot of my best friend Melissa.

Pulling at my now greasy untucked shirt, I think about Melissa. I miss her so much. I miss her laugh mostly, how she snorted and choked on air at nearly everything I said. I miss her laugh. I miss her dog as well, Mr sprinkles was the best dog ever. He was a white poodle that would always attack me with kisses. He's so cute. He's my wallpaper on my phone, he's such a cutie.

I miss home.

I snap my head towards Jace's finger, seeing that's it's twitching next to me. He obviously wants to keep petting me but is using all the strength in him not to touch me. I breathe deeply, my heart racing a little at the thought of being picked up.

Good boy.

"Don't. Even. Think. About it" I point at Jace, his face twisting in pain as he strains himself not to touch me again. He groans, lifting his hands up into the air in frustration.

"But Tess! your so cute! It's hard not to want to just smother you with love" I cringe a bit at his choice of words, smother? Love? Why smother? I look back up just in time to see Jace crouching down until he's eye level with me. He smiles warmly, bringing his giant hand up to brush his brown hair out of his eyes.

"Go show some of your love to Austin or someone other then me" I stare at Jace but point at Austin whose standing in the middle of the room. Jace pauses to stare at me, looking at me with a frown. He reminds me of a puppy or a cute toddler, he's always want to pat me. Jace sighs through his nose, then looks over at Austin, slowly opening his arms for a hug.

"Come ere buddy" Jace motions for Austin to come in for a hug. Austin turns on his heels, his eyes narrow and he glares at Jace's open arms, shaking his head a little as he walks over to his cupboard.

"Don't touch me," Austin growls, grabbing his phone from where it is charging he spins around to look back at us. His eyes narrowing at Jace's still open arms. Jace goes to get up but Austins eyes darken, telling him to back off. It's like Austin doesn't like Jace now, why?

Austin drags his feet behind him, walking to his bed he flops down on top of his mattress. His giant body makes all the sheets flap up under him, his long legs hanging over the edge.

"Do you see how mean he is to me Tess?" Jace drops his arms to his sides, looking down at me he pushes out his bottom lip making his lips quiver a little down at me. He gives me puppy dog eyes and whines like a dog, leaning down he rests his chin on top of the table. I laugh, nearly aweing at how sad he looks. He fake cries, leaning his cheek against the table he turns to look at me, he whines again. I shake my head in amusement, is he trying to flirt with me? No, probably not...

"Poor baby" I laugh, smiling at Jace I lift my shoulders in a shrug, awkwardly opening my own small arms and offering him a hug since he was rudely denied one by Austin, meany. I tense as Jace sits up quickly, a smile breaking across his lips. I flinch away a little, waiting for Jace to grab me.

Jace's eyes widen and a smile brightens up his whole face. He's very good looking, his sharp jawline and the little bit of stubble forming on his chin makes his features look very sharp and... I have to admit it, sexy. I flinch as his hand moves and lifts me up off the desk. My stomach drops as I'm lifted up, pulled forwards and then pressed into his chest. I quietly yelp into fabric as his hands gently squeeze me up against his large chest. My breath leaves my own chest as I'm pressed even more into his oversized, muscly, warm chest.

I've never liked hugging people, but this isn't to bad. It's nice... sorta.

I sigh through the awkwardness and allow myself to snuggle into his warm shirt, it's so warm. He's like a big teddy bear. I close my eyes to the beat of Jace's heart. It is loud inside his chest and is extremely relaxing. I don't mind these human-giant hugs that Jace has come up with. I could get use to this.

Jace chuckles, making his chest and me vibrate a little against his body. My skin tingles and I groan in annoyance. His laughing and skin vibrating is annoying as hell, I don't like this. But I do like this hug, thing, whatever this is...

Jace's hands begin to wrap around me, his large fingers gently pulling me away from his chest. I groan again, grabbing hold of his shirt so that I can snuggle back up into his warm shirt. He's so warm and cozy, like a bed. I like bed. Jace tries pulling on me again, but I continue to hold his shirt.

"No, your warm" I whine, bawling fabric up in my fists I pull myself back into his chest.

"If you like my shirt so much, I can just take it off" I look up at Jace and immediately a blush burns my cheeks at his bright smile that seems to light up his entire face. Realising what I'm doing I quickly let go of his shirt, allowing him to bring me up towards the desk in front of him. I groan in embarrassment, feeling my cheeks burning even more. Jace chuckles and carefully places me back on the desk in front of him. Im once again embarrassing myself, in front of giants. Why am I so hopeless!?

I slowly turn around, expecting to see Jace smirking or looking smug down at me from my actions. I look up and am surprised to see his big happy face looking down at me. I laugh nervously, feeling the blush burn brighter on my cheeks as he gives me a cheeky smile.

"Austin. It's final, I like her." Jace turns to look at Austin, whose texting someone on his phone still. Austin grunts, not even looking up from his phone screen. Jace shakes his head, rolling his eyes he turns back to me with a smile. I smile back, my ears burning and entire face burning like fire from embarrassment.

That's good to know, i wouldn't want a giant to hate me.

"He's so boring, isn't he? good thing I'm here to save the day or you'd be sitting here in awkward silence with that weirdo" Jace whispers loudly, leaning in close so that Austin can't hear him. His lips nearly brush the side of my face and I lean away from his giant head. He breathes a laugh, causing a shiver to run down my spine. His lips are nearly as big as me! How does mum and Brian kiss, he'd be eating her if they decided to have a make out sesh. Ewww! Why am I even thinking about this?

Jace slightly turns his head to look at me, only a little since I'm so close to him. I giggle a the small smile he gives me and bring my hands up and shove at his giant cheek, trying to push him away from me. Jace pulls back, smirking down at me his giant eyes brighten with amusement.

"Umm, I heard that! And I'm not boring, I'm amazing!" I see Austin pick up a pillow from behind him and bring his arm behind his head and throw it towards Jace, hitting him hard in the back. I stumble back, landing on my back as Jace whips back around towards Austin. He picks the pillow up from the ground and pegs the pillow back at Austin.

"Careful! You twit! You could have hit Tess" Jace pegs the pillow back, hitting Austin in the head. Austin's head snaps back and he dramatically falls back onto the bed, crying out as if someone had just shot him the chest. Drama queen... Austin laughs, looking at me from the bed he smiles.

"Sorry shorty" Austin mumbles from his bed, a smirk growing on his lips as he looks over at me. He doesn't sound sorry, he was probably aiming for me but missed and hit Jace instead.

"You should be" Jace says back, looking back at me on the desk he brings his hands down next to me, "are you okay?" I flinch away from his hands on either side of me, feeling even more intimidated then I already am as he looms over me.

"Yeah, I'm f-fine." I get up onto my knees, slowly getting up onto my feet my eyes wonder over to Austin, "I'm not short" I mumble under my breath, glaring at Austin I watch as he takes the pillow Jace threw back and places it under his head so that he's comfortable. I can't really say that he's big as a comeback because he'd probably be like I know... and your small? Ha!

"I know you aren't, he's just being a jerk" Jace smiles warmly down at me. I on the other hand, tense up a little, realising he heard me! I slowly roll my head back to look up at Jace.

My heart feels like it's packing its bags and is ready to leave. He smiles, his eyes wondering over me sitting awkwardly in front of him.

Jace is nicer then Austin, by far! Smile a lot to. An I've noticed he likes hugs. He tried hugging Austin again earlier when he arrived, but Austin just stood there awkwardly, his hands by his sides as he looked at me for help. It's not like I could get up and save him, I'm only a tad bigger then his finger!

When they were hugging I noticed Jace is a head shorter then Austin, his eyes inline with the bottom of Austin's chin. Jace has brown hair and is very loud. He reminds me of a little kid, smiling and laughing about absolutely nothing and everything all the time. He's extremely good looking, almost as good looking as Austin. He's still classified as a godlike being with a rocking six pack, which I can see through his shirt when he's standing.

I focus back on my surroundings, just in time too, because Jace's finger comes out of no where and begins stroking my already knotted hair again. He has an obsession! I groan and fall back onto my butt, crossing my legs I look between Jace and Austin. Austin has gotten up from his bed and is now standing next to his cupboard, laughing a little behind Jace, his chest lifting and falling as he chuckles at Jace patting me again. I must look annoyed because Austin laughs harder as Jace gets down on his hands and knees and crosses his legs.

I look right at Austin, pleading with my eyes for help, PLEASE! I hate being petted as much as he hates hugs.

He just smiles at me, shrugging his shoulders a little he gives me the big thumbs up. Flopping back onto his bed he pulls out his phone again from his black jeans. Completely ignoring me and Jace.

Excuse me! Help! PLEASE! You have the ability to get up and help unlike me.

"Hey? So... are you going to our school?" I turn my attention back to Jace, his icy-blue eyes looking at me intensely, his lips twitching up into a smile in excitement. He looks like he's about to bust. My chest tightens at the idea of a giants school. Giant teenagers running everywhere through giant halls, with giant feet, and giant classrooms and giant everything! I have no idea what to expect, NOT. A. CLUE! Is there anywhere for humans to walk without getting stepped on by a careless giant? Any human sized classrooms? Do I have to sit in a classroom with giants? Any human teachers? Is my teacher going to be a giant? Will there be any humans at all?! I might be the only one!

I slowly nod, looking to see Austin whose still playing on his phone, tapping the screen like a mad man.

"Oh my god! You have to sit with us at lunch and recess and whenever we have classes together! Me and Austin can be like... your guardians from all the human haters and you our little princess that we must protect with our lives" Jace claps his hands together, loudly. I have to cover my ears from the sound, my head thumping with my heartbeat.

Jace covers his mouth, his eyes widening down at me. "I'm sorry" he whispers. I nervously laugh, he looks like a kid who just got in trouble by his parents for stealing the last cookie from the cookie jar.

"It's fine." I wave him off, ignoring the slight ringing in my ears, "I'll sit with you, but not Mr crank pot over there" I point at Austin whose spread across his bed. His long legs hanging over the edge of the mattress. Austin's head lifts a little, glaring at me before turning back to his phone.

Jace laughs loudly, throwing his head back to look at Austin. Jace is like seventeen isn't he? He's acts as if he were a five year old. Jace is so sweet, I already like him more then Austin. I could hang around Jace all day, if only he didn't pet me like a dog I probably would.

"She called you Mr crank pot" Jace laughs again, bringing his index finger down to me. A high five? I slap his finger like a high five, both of us laugh at each other at the weirdest high five ever.

"Whatever. She can't sit with us anyways. Humans and giants aren't allowed to sit together and human and giants don't have classes together either, remember" Austin says in a duh tone, without even lifting his head from the mattress he continues to tap on his phone.

"At lunch she can. If we pick her up from class we can sit in the shared cafeteria, remember" Jace mocks Austin, he smiles down at me then looks back over at Austin. I smile at up at Jace, at least I have one person/giant that I can call a... friend?

"No one sits there" Austin says, shifting himself on the bed he drop his phone and leans his head against his large arm like a pillow.

"Why not?" I ask, looking up between Austin and Jace. Jace brushes his hair out of his eyes and Austin scratches the back of his neck.

"Yeah, why not Austin?" Jace muses, leaning his back against the desk he twist around, lifting his arm up onto the desk he places opens his palm next to me so that I can get on. I hesitate, looking up at Jace smiling down at me. I smile back and happily climb on, knowing Jace wouldn't hurt me, he's to nice. I step onto his palm, walking into the centre of his outstretched hand I sit down, folding my legs over each other. Jace waits until I give him a nod to say I'm ready to go.

My heart hammers in my chest as everything begins to move under me. Jace smiles and slowly lifts me up from the desk, slowly moving his arm around he gently places me in his giant lap. I hop off and sit myself on his thigh, resting my back up against his shirt. Pulling at the bunched up material of his shirt, i wrap myself up like a butterfly in a cocoon. I sigh, leaning even more into Jace's stomach. I probably look like a weirdo, wrapping myself up in his shirt. I slowly look up to see him smiling down at me.

"Comfy?" I nod, smiling back up at him. Jace's smile widens, somehow, and he pulls at his shirt, wrapping me up in even more of the bunched up material. I feel comfortable around him, I can almost be myself. I have only known him for about an hour or more now and I feel like I've know him forever. He's so easy to be normal around.

"Because... umm... I don't know, giants and humans just don't sit together..." Both Jace and I turn out attention back to Austin who just shrugs, looking down at me sitting in Jace's lap, wrapped in his shirt. His eyebrows lift in confusion down at me and I just shrug back. I lean even more into Jace's stomach, feeling his six pack brushing the top of my head. I smile, breathing in Jace's husky aroma. His cologne is so good, I've always had a thing for men's cologne. It makes my inside feel like there bubbling and everything feels... good.

"Why not? Are Humans not worth your time" I ask, looking at Jace then Austin. Austin shrugs and lays back onto his huge bed.

"No, humans aren't that bad. It's probably because the shared cafeteria is like super far away and humans and giants just don't... really talk much, I don't know?" Austin turns his head to look at Jace and I, his eyes pausing on Jace before he turns to look back at his phone.

"Well I'll sit with you Tess, I'm not afraid of being judged unlike Austin who has a reputation to keep. Humans are the best" Jace ads, plucking me out of his shirt he brings me up to eye level and smiles at me dangling from his hand.

"Thanks and Hey! Put me down!" I smile back, wriggling at the uncomfortable position I'm being held in. Austin scoffs from the bed and we both turn to look back at him. I try to look, but I can't see much since Jace is dangling me in front of his face.

"That means your gonna have to go to her class everyday to pick her up and take her to lunch." Austin states, bringing his phone closer to his face he squints at the screen.

"I don't mind." Jace shrugs with his free arm. He moves his other hand under me, plopping me back down into his palm.

"Really? You don't have to if you don't want" I look back at Jace and we both smile. Why is he being so nice to me? Aren't giants suppose to hate humans? I'd never have thought that i could make a giant friend, turns out i was wrong. Jace nods, his smile widening even more. Do these guys just always smile.

"I want to. We can get to know each other more" Jace softly pokes me in the stomach, knocking me over onto my back. I giggle like a little girl. I try pushing Jace's finger away but his finger is twice as big and strong then I am.

"That's cute" Austin says, laughing a little as he sits back up on his bed to look at us.

Jace and I glare at Austin, Jace moves his hand behind his back and places me back onto the desk. I step off his hand and look up at his back. The muscles flexing as he turns back towards Austin.

"I know I'm cute thank you. Your just jealous because me and Tess are getting along better then you" Jace pokes his tongue out like a child.

Austin glares back before crashing back onto his mattress. Austin looks so uninterested. Maybe he doesn't like Jace.

"Whatever" Austin growls. Austin is angry now? What the hell! He was all happy and nice this morning, and now he looks like he doesn't give two shits.

Jace's turns around to look at me again, his perfect smile lighting up his face. My stomach knots a little as his finger moves and brushes my head again. I huff, this is so annoying.

His finger drops from the top of my head and rests on the table next to me, his index finger resting against my right leg. I stare at his oversized finger, it's nearly as long as me. Jace's finger nails are extremely clean, for a guy. Perfectly curved and recently cut, he looks like he takes care of his appearance. He's wearing a denim jacket, patches covering the sleeves. A grey shirt, ripped black jeans and black converse. His light brown hair is close cut at the bottom but long and poofy on the top. He was wearing a hat when he walked in, but that's now been thrown to the floor next to him. I didn't look to see where it had been thrown, I knew that it was somewhere on the ground below.

I look back up to see Jace pulling out his phone and tapping on the screen just like Austin. He crouches down more, leaning closer to me he smiles at his phone.

"Smile sunshine" Jace sings, shoving his car sized phone even more in my face. I lean back a little, his massive phone startling me. I look at the round camera, smiling widely at the giant phone that hovers over me. His finger presses the screen and his phone makes a chink sound as he takes a photo. My smile drops and I get up on my knees to look up at him.

He moves the phone away from my face, bringing his device up to his own face. He smiles at the photo. Please don't be terrible, I always look terrible in photos.

Jace continues to brush his finger up against my leg as he stares at his phone. Trying to ignore Jace petting me, I sit awkwardly looking from Jace's finger, to Jace, then to Austin whose laying on his bed still then back to Jace.

"You likey?" I turn back to see a giant photo of me smiling through the screen. I feel like vomiting at the photo. My hair is a ratted mess and my clothes look a little damp from the bacon grease that Austin covered me in before. My hair probably has a mix of spit from when he kissed me too. Jace's giant finger is leaning against my leg, I look really awkward in the photo. it would be a really good photo of his finger if I wasn't in sitting there ruining it.

"Eww, look at my hair!" I stand up from the ground and step towards his phone, using both my hands I zoom in on the picture. My nose is scrunched up and my eyes are squinted from me smiling. My hair looks like an actual birds nest. I feel my hair, trying to flatten it back down, it's a frizzy, knotted mess.

"It's not that bad" Jace turns the phone around to look at the photo again. A smile growing on his face.

"It's terrible! Delete it" I try grabbing his giant phone, but he moves his hand and phone away from out of my reach.

"No, I like it" leaning away from the table even more he smiles at his phone, tapping on the screen a few more times.

"Nooo... it such a bad photo of me" I walk over to the edge of the desk, looking helplessly at Jace tap on his screen once more before looking back down at me.

"Your my wallpaper now" he smiles, showing me his phone to see my ugly mug as his background.

"Jace! No! At least take a photo of me when I'm not covered in bacon grease and my hair actually looks decent" I grunt, making Jace laugh. Ive never looked good in photos. I hate people taking photos of me, I always look terrible compared to them. I'm the most un photogenic person out there. I reach out for Jace's phone again, jumping a little as he taps his phone again and again.

"Nice photo!" I flinch at Austin. Who yells out from his bed, holding his phone up in the air "Score! new wallpaper!"

"No! Why did you send it to him?!" I groan. I'm never going to hear the end of this. Jace laughs again and places his hand next to me, his finger brushing my leg again. I kick his finger, trying to get his attention.

"Your so annoying" I groan.

"Love you too princess" Jace winks down at me and kisses the air, leaning away more as he taps his phone.

I jump a little as Austin head appears behind Jace as he sits up suddenly, his head popping up over Jace's shoulder. A wide smile on his face he looks right at me. His eyes look at Jace, whose still looking at his phone then back at me. I look at him confused, what's he doing?

Throwing his phone over his shoulder he jumps up off the bed, his large feet thudding against the floorboards. Slowly making his way over to me on the table he wiggles his eyebrows at Jace's finger brushing against my leg. I shake my head, glaring up at his stupid grin.

"So... princess." Again with these nicknames. I groan loudly, face palming myself at the stupid nickname that Austin has been calling me. Why did Jace have to bring up princess, WHY?! "If it's okay with you, I've invited my other friend Darrick over so-"

"Darrick! Why Darrick!?" Jace instantly snaps out of his daze at the mention of Darrick, looking at Austin over his shoulder, "what the hell! Why him? he's so... so..." Jace groans and squints his eyes as if he were in pain. He drops his facial features, frowning he makes his face stone hard and all serious as he imitates this so called Darrick.

"Austin, It's fine." I say. Looking up at Jace whose face palming himself then to a smiling Austin. These guys are very different.

Darrick is such a weird name, I don't think I've ever met or even heard of the name Darrick before. It sounds like it should be a big scary dogs name.

I laugh at Jace, as he dramatically grunts in annoyance, looking at Austin who just flips him off. His features look like my maths teacher back at the human quarters. Mr Blakely would always have a scowl, he obviously hates children and did not want to be there. He literally would blank out at his desk, starring out the window he would eventually fall asleep in class and he wouldn't wake up til the bell. Him sleeping all through class was a bonus for us because then we would end up doing nothing because the whole lesson me and Melissa would just talk. I miss Melissa so much. I was suppose to text her last night, but I was way to tired. I'll do it tonight, definitely.

I hate maths.

"But he's so..." Jace brings his hands to his face and groans loudly.

"Shut up Jace, You know exactly why Darrick is coming over" Austin hits the back of Jace's head, making Austin and I both laugh hysterically when Jace makes a choking-strangled sound.

"That was rude and yes of course I know, he's only here to annoy the shit outta me" Jace groans and falls onto the ground, his large body thudding against the floorboards. He groans even louder, covering his face with his hands he loudly groans again and again, his hands muffling the sound a little. I shake my head in amusement.

"Shut up Jace, he's not that bad" Austin kicks Jace in the side, telling him to get up off the ground. Jace groans once more but sits back up.

These guys are idiots.

I stop laughing and slump a little, realising I'm going to have to deal with three giant idiots when David or Darby or whatever the guys name is gets here.

"Hey! I'm telling the truth. Don't deny it, Darrick is so... serious all the time" Jace looks back to me, a smile brightening up his face as he moves his finger to pat my head again.

OH! His name is Darrick. I remember now.

"Stop petting me!" I try pushing his finger away. Jace's mouth open and he holds his hand to his heart, pretending to be hurt. I glare at him and he smiles sheepishly.

His hand moves up from his side and scoops me up off my feet. Bringing me to his chest he squeezes me a little. I struggle against his chest, beating my fists into his giant pec. He doesn't seem to care and just continues hugging me. I slump into the hug.

"Jace you weirdo, stop!" He ignores me and squeezes me a little more.

I give up! he can pat me, hug me I don't even care. No matter what I say or do he's just going to continue trying to touch me.

Eww! that sounded dirtier then what I intended. But it's the truth!

"Don't worry princess, I'll keep you company when sir snores a lot gets here" Jace's looks down at me in his hands moving his finger in circles over the top of head and then to the side of my cheek, his giant thumb moving up and down my face as his smile somehow widens down at me. This is getting weird now.

"Yay! Im so excited" I groan, placing my forehead against Jace's chest I force a smile. I quickly push myself up and stand in his hands, using his body for balance. I slowly lean away from Jace's finger, "while we wait for... Darrick? I think I'm gonna go shower, since I'm still covered in bacon grease from sir I eat with my hands a lot" I lean away from Jace's finger even more, this is getting really weird now with him patting me constantly.

Austin snorts a laugh as he plonks himself in the swivel chair next to Jace. His dark hazelnut hair bouncing as he turns towards me being hugged by Jace.

"You do that greasy." it's my turn to snort as Jace places me back on the desk. His fingers unwrapping from around my waist he drops me in front of my house. I stumble a little but manage to keep my balance. I don't bother even thanking Jace for putting me down. I turn on my heels and head towards the front door.

"We will be waiting out here for you to get all pretty" Jace and Austin laugh behind me. I hear them high five and I spin on my heels to look at them.

"What are you talking about! You can't get anymore perfect then this" I look over my shoulder and strike a pose, flipping my hair over my shoulder I pout my lips. I gesture to myself, looking at my greasy self.

Austin looks almost taken back by my sudden confidence to speak up and show my normal side. His eyes widen down at me as I giggle at his shocked expression. Can't he take a joke? Jace laughs and smiles at me, I smile back and he winks at me.

"That's my girl," He begins to pur a little. Jace leans over the desk and goes to brush my head again. I punch his finger, making him pull back. He frowns at me.

"Bad boy" I cross my arms over my chest, looking at Jace who is shaking his head in amusement.

"That's hot" Austin smirks, his eyes looking down at me with mischief. His features become smug again. I roll my eyes back at him, a blush threatening to make a show on my cheeks.

"Uh! Excuse you, she's mine." Jace butts in, pointing a finger in Austin's face, "I'm her bad boy" I laugh under my breath.

"What?" Austin laughs, looking at me he raises his eyebrows questingly. I shrug and continue to just watch the scene play out in silent in front of me.

"I don't appreciate it when you talk to my princess like that, she's a lady and must be treated as one you filthy scum" Jace snaps his fingers sassily in the air, his long right leg stretching out to push Austin away in his chair. I laugh hysterically at Austin spinning in his chair as he is pushed away, rolling across the room. Austin's mouth drops open to gawk at Jace then at me. My cheeks redden under his eyes and I pick up my pace and walk to the front door of my little house, feeling my face burn brighter with every step.

"Uh Jace. You do realise you only met each other like ten minutes ago" Austin chuckles as he slowly rolls back over to the desk. The wheels squeaking under his weight as he wheels himself towards us. Instead of sitting in front of me, Jace pushes Austin away again, making him roll to the other side of the room.

"Dude!" Austin gets up from his chair and instead pushes the chair back over to the desk again. The two giants playfully glare at each other. Jace smiles and grabs a giant ruler from the desk, holding it like a sword he stabs Austin in the stomach

"Back off peasant, lady Tess is mine! I can already feel a connection between us. We are meant to be" Jace dramatically sighs like a love sick puppy behind me.

The room falls into silence as I slowly make my way up the stairs towards my porch. I feel like I'm missing something and turn to see both the boys looking down at me. My cheeks redden at them both staring at me.

It's like a switch, both the guys burst out laughing, leaning back they laugh hysterically holding their stomachs. What's so funny. I roll my eyes, holding in a laugh as I open my door to my house.

"Isn't that right ba- hey! Wait Don't leave yet" Jace whines. I quickly look over my shoulder to see Jace crouched down even more so that he can see me standing on porch. I poke my tongue out at him and he winks, playfully blowing a kiss in my direction.

I roll my eyes again but play along. Reaching up into the air in front of me i pretend to grab his invisible air kiss. Bringing my hands to my heart I dramatically sigh. Jace smiles, mouthing the words "I love you". I roll my eyes again and step through the open door to my house. I need a shower.

"Miss you alrea-!" I slam the door shut behind me, cutting off Jace before he can finish his sentence.

"It's a love, hate relationship," I giggle a little at Jace and Austin laughing on the other side of the door, their laughter loud and deep compared to mine.

Groaning, I run my fingers through my disgusting hair. I'm really looking forward to a shower. My hair is oily and my skin is still covered in bacon grease.

Pushing myself off the door I walk towards my ensuite. Looking around my house i notice how quiet it is, except for the boys voices that are mumbled in the background it's really quiet. I slowly stomp up the stairs, feeling like a slug as I drag myself to the shower. The grease seeming to seep through my skin and is weighing me down.

Pulling the door open I let out a long sigh as my eyes land on my shower, it seems to glow as if it had a halo. I don't even bother closing the door since everyone in the house at the moment cant even get in because they are all one hundred times bigger then the actual doorway. Mums at work and Brian's in his study, doing whatever he does. And Austin and Jace are, I don't actually care what they are doing.

I only care what I'm doing. And that's having a shower.
