Forty-One: Memory

[ J A M I E ]

"You two are gross" Cole groaned with a mouthful of fries, chewing the food in his mouth before swallowing the heap of potato and grease down into his gullet with a satisfied sigh. Wiping at the grease on his mouth with a spare napkin, Cole eyed Jamie where he sat upon Ava's shoulder making the tiny human a little nervous, "I'm trying to eat here~ why don't you eat the food you ordered, I'm sure Jamie doesn't taste that good" Cole smirked, bringing his soda to slurp at as he eyed the human and giantess at the diner table

Jace watched as Jamie blushed lightly at Coles words and turned away from view into Avas large fingers as a way to hide as she pulled him back from her face, and her lips, the giantess reacting immediately by leaning forward over the table to shove at Coles face who groaned in response "piss off would you, mind your own business. Who even invited you here?" Ava grunted, sending Cole a glare before looking down toward Jamie with a soft gaze apologetically, her fingers finding themselves beginning to massaging at his back to try and comfort him.

"Sorry I didn't mean to be loud" Ava whispered softly this time, making Jamie smile before he was brought face first to her chest, held there against the girls bosom as she cradled her tiny boyfriend in an attempt at a loving hug, grunting he couldn't help but squirm in her grasp feeling engulfed. At times he didn't mind being pressed against Ava and cradled since she was extremely warm and smelt good. He had become somewhat use to being smothered by the giant girl at that point, not really having a choice how he was chosen to be held by her, or what she wanted to do with him or where she would place him with their obvious size difference.

He didn't mind most the time..

"Leave em alone Cole~ they're just in love" Jace smiled and poked at Coles side, chuckling at the blondes reaction before looking down at Jamie with playful smile, making Jamie shift a little uncomfortably and moved closer to Ava.

When he was brought back onto the table, his face was red and flustered and he tried avoiding eye contact with Cole who was snickering to himself at the small boys fortune, while rubbing his cheek that had been shoved by Ava whilst bringing more fries into his mouth he continued to shake his head with amusement at Jamie.

"In fact Katy invited me~ who so happens to be trying to eat also" Cole nudged Katy a little, who sat to the side, dark eyes widening as her name was mentioned and quickly shook her head.

"Hey don't bring me into this, I think their relationship is cute too" the dark skinned girl smiled toward Ava then down to Jamie, who smiled back up at the other giantess. Jace nodded along with Katy, bringing a burger to his gaping mouth to devour.

"Thanks Katy" Jamie spoke up to the giantess, who nodded in return and continued eating her food. Jamie turned to look to Ava, surprising him seeing as she was eyeing him with a raised brow suspiciously. Confused, he shrugged his shoulders up to her questioningly and moved closer to her hand that rested upon the table. Maybe she wanted attention? Moving to rest against her fingers, he was surprised as she dragged her hand back away from him.

"Have you guys seen Austin much lately? I swear he doesn't even come to school anymore" Jace spoke then with a mouthful of food and Jamie turned his attention away from Ava to the other Giant boy, seeing that Jace was frowning and Katy was playing with her food, gently pushing around the fries on her plate with a fork.

"I think he's just been feeling down about Tess.. he told me that he's focusing on Backnott at the moment to try get into college, he's got training this afternoon actually" Cole purses his lips and his eyes found themselves landing on Jamie "has anyone heard anything from Tess? Is she okay?"

"I haven't spoken to her in weeks" Katy frowned a little at that, setting her fork down on her plate.

"I talked to her yesterday.. shes been okay I reckon she'll be back soon. She's been missing everyone so much" Jace smiled to himself, playing with his fries "Darricks been keeping her company a lot" Jace nodded slowly with a smile,

"I spoke to her on the phone too" Jamie said while also smiling since he'd spoken to Tess on the phone last week about her relationship with Darrick, and his new one with Ava. He'd been missing Tess terribly also. Sighing he, looked back to Ava seeing she was looking at him still with an intensity behind her eyes. Shifting where he sat, he felt a little uncomfortable under her gaze, so instead turned his attention to the other giants at the table to listen.

"That's good~ I'm happy they're together they make a cute couple" Ava hummed lowly and Jamie felt Ava's fingers brush at his back, sending a shiver down his spine slowly. " I also heard what happened with Lenny~ how they let him get away with what he did is disgusting, they even let him back into the Backnott team"

"There was a small article about it.. I saw one of the girls at school posted it.. his excuse was "I never meant to hurt anyone~ i really thought that we were just having fun" Katy frowned, nose scrunched in disgust along with everyone one else at the table

"That's so messed up, he's lucky that he doesn't have to come to school right now or I would beat the shit out of that rat" Cole snarled, now finished with his food he shoved his plate away in disgust

"You couldn't do anything, Cole. You've never fought anyone in your life" Ava scoffed and rolled her eyes at the blonde

"Hey doesn't mean I wouldn't try, I stick up for my friends and what I believe in" Cole nodded, brushing back his mane of golden locks with his thumb then sighing "I've never liked Lenny~"

"I don't think anyone actually likes him.." Jace murmured, rubbing at the nape of his neck looking uncomfortable by the topic

"How about we stop talking about him, I don't think Jamie wants to hear about that stuff" Katy spoke, looking down to Jamie where he sat upon the table and pursing her lips, followed with an agreed silence as everyone sat with their uneasy thoughts.

~ FLASHBACK ~

[D A R R I C K]

Her name was Alli. Even as a young girl she had mesmerisingly bright ember flamed hair with blonde highlights, which lay on her shoulders like a waterfall flowing mildly; flaming as bright as a sunrise. Darrick could remember her eyes were dazzling emerald green, which travelled fiercely with confidence from one person to another even at her tiny size . Darrick use to admire her as a kid, couldn't help but notice when her eyes glistened every time she would look to him. Her smile had been warm with a hint of mischief and her lips were like a frozen rose, dangerous but beautiful.

Ali would've been the loudest human voice in the world whenever Darrick was with her, sometimes louder then giants even for her size and as a twelve year old she always was able to speak over him. Her conversations were cheerful and intended to be heard. Darrick found himself admiring the tiny human, spending nearly every second of every day with her since they'd become neighbours until the tragic accident. They'd met by coincidence, late one afternoon as he was playing with his iPad in the front yard, having been kicked out of the home to get some fresh air by his mother. His attention had been drawn away from his game as he couldn't help notice the tiny head of red flames over the tops of the tall grass as she ventured toward him with a makeshift sword (stick) and loudly narrating every second as she approached the giant boy like something out of an adventure movie

"And now! As I approach the giant! It appears he has spotted me, but don't worry. Giants are usually much more scared of us then we are of them" her voice was small but caught his attention, raising his brows curiously he leant toward the sound

"Uh~" Darrick had been nervous being around something so small at first when she'd come into view, let alone a girl! Shocked at the slender girl, pushing grass out of the way like some sort of adventurer exploring the jungle. Looking down he had gently placed his iPad by his side within the grass, never really having ever met a human before at that point so he had been incredibly shy at first as he watched as the tiny human girl began to circle him like a tiger would it's prey, even prodding at his shoe with her stick curiously.

"See! The scare tactic has worked, circling seems to be a great technique in intimidating the larger species" at the time, her hair resembled similar to something a bird would nest in. She was like a wild child, mud smeared across her cheeks and hair tied into a ratty bun.

"What~ what are you doing?" Darrick, as a twelve year old boy had been on the scrawnier side before puberty , his black bangs hanging loosely like a mop on his head, hiding his hazel eyes .

"Isn't it obvious! I'm Exploring! How bout you?" She scoffed, pushing the strands of hair out of her eyes as she craned her neck back to look up at the large boy "though big, very dumb. Noted"

"I'm~ on my iPad..." Darrick blushed, seeing the tiny human girl that couldn't be any taller than 5 inches wasn't really listening and continued cautiously circling him "also I'm not dumb, I CAN hear you, you know" Darrick spoke softly and shy, a blush finding itself on his cheeks while searching the grass as the tiny girl continued to walk around him, as if analysing his entire body like a scientist would a lab rat.

She shrugged, not seeming to care and climbed upon the large iPad screen which was as big as a cinema screen compared to herself to examine the Lock Screen as it turned on beneath her feet. Pointing down at the device, she looked up to him with wide eyes making Darrick blush nervously "can I have this?"

~~~
"Come on Darrick! You got it!" Ali cheered, seated within the giant boys pocket as he shakily stood upon a skateboard. It had been a few month since their meeting and they'd become the closest of friends, Darrick hardly ever hung around his own kind seeming to spend most days with the tiny human girl like two peas in a pod. They'd made a pact to learn new things together and Darrick had chosen skateboarding while Ali wanted to learn to swim, using the sink in Darricks giant bathroom to practice floating on her back and doggy paddling . Humans were known to not knowing how to swim for some reason.
"I think I'm gonna fall~" Darrick whimpered, knees wobbling and reaching out for anything to grip onto to balance himself as he slowly slid down the small hill of his driveway but only could feel air between his fingers .
"No you won't, just push forward a little. I wanna go faster!" Ali hit lightly at Darricks chest trying to encourage him, bouncing up and down like a excited puppy wanting to go faster, Darrick wish he hadn't listen to Ali but in the moment couldn't help but want to feel the thrill of skateboarding.
"O-okay.." Darrick responded, shaking as he pushed forward with an uneasy foot, boosting his skateboard forward til he was rolling quickly down the hill of his driveway toward the road. Smiling, he waved his hands around desperately like a chicken trying to fly as he neared the curb, ready to bend his knees to keep his balance.
Instead, Darrick found himself nicking the curb that day and couldn't remember anything beyond the point of rolling down the hill. That day he'd lost his memory up until the point he smacked his head on the ground, that day he'd also lost his father and his best friend. When Darrick had been rolling down the driveway, what he hadn't been paying attention to was the road as a large delivery truck drove over the speed limit, driver late for its deliveries.
What Darrick wasn't aware of either was that his father had in fact left the house to retrieve Darrick, seeing he was unconscious on the road by his skateboard after hitting his head on the road to leave a angry scar on his forehead up until today to remember that tragic moment. His father had hurried over to help his son only to be hit by that very truck as it rushed around the corner, not seeing a boy on the road to focused on arriving on time. Braking wouldn't of helped, it was like falling off a cliff just enough time to regret what you did that day but not enough time for anyone to help or try to faction a parachute from your clothes. In this case there wasn't a thing anyone could've done.
Darrick never saw Ali after that day, being told that she'd left. Darrick never got a chance to say goodbye, his mother having told him she'd moved back to the human quarters with her family. He could only trust his mothers word, even though he knew even at that age she was probably lying.
"I- I never mentioned anything cause I didn't want to you to worry or be scared of me~ Ali was my best friend, nothing more~" Darrick frowned to himself, playing at the rings on his fingers as he avoided making eye contact with Tess.
Tess frowned as she looked up toward Darrick after hearing his story, now nestled into the side of his cheek where he lay his head on the pillow "I'm sorry that happened to you... i would never be scared of you Darrick~" is all she could manage, whispering delicately against his cheek then pressing a delicate kiss to his big face.
"It's fine~ At least now you know.." Darrick sighed lowly through his nose, having his chin restring on his hand he turned his eyes til they met her tiny body sat upon his pillow "thanks for- for listening.. probably a good thing I finally told someone that" he sighed breathlessly trying to suppress a small cry which caused his shoulders to shake, Tess noticing his eyes had become a little glossy as he tried to ignore the memories of that horrible day.
Resting her small hand on his cheek, she gently stroked the side of her boyfriends oversized face, wishing they could swap sizes in that moments so she could cradle him in her arms and hold him close like a baby "yeah~ I'm always here if you need someone to talk to. I don't mind listening if it makes you feel better I'll sit here all day" Tess sent him a comforting smile, leaning forward to rest her forehead against the side of his face
"Thanks~ but id probably bore you to death if I told you all my problems" he chuckled and tried to rub at his eyes to hide any tears threatening to slip down his cheeks, seeming embarrassed he didn't give her a chance to reply or aw at his tears as he caused her to have to lay back as his head turned to press a sweet kiss to her face, pinning her delicately to the pillow, a few seconds passing before finally pulling away to allow her a breath. She probably would never get use to his kisses, how powerful and intimidating Darrick could be even by just simply giving his girlfriend a kiss.
Flustered, she sat up quickly and pushed back her hair from her blushing cheeks, seeing he'd wiped his eyes and now smiled playfully at his tiny girlfriend "I don't mind, really I've got all the time in the world" she spoke, her voice stuttering a little she gripped at the corner of her hoodie as Darricks hazel irises eyed her before him. He shook his head quickly whilst his sadness passed.
"I'll save it for another time~ I wanted to spend a nice afternoon with you, babe. Not crying about my past" Darrick sent a tight smile as he looked down at her, moving til his fingers wrapped around her body he began to delicately caress her back with his thumbs, making Tess bite her lip and push herself back against his delicate touch, even more flustered hearing him call her babe.
"Is there anything I could do to cheer you up?" Tess sent him a smile seeing the inner workings of his mind begun to turn at her words. Tilting his head to the side, causing his dark lock to fall into his eyes, her heart skipped a beat as a dazzling smile came to his lips then
"Your company is enough for me" Darricks voice lowered a few octave's as he whispered, his breath grazing between her thighs and sending a shiver down her spine
"Your so corny" Tess snorted.
"I know you love it" he smirked, leaning in he nuzzled her delicately with his large nose, making her squeak and squirm in his grasp until he pulled away, her world becoming a blur as he lifted her up until she found herself sitting in his lap while he leant a forward to grab a laptop from his beside table.
She couldn't help but think and compare to the Darrick she had first met, back when she'd been going to the shops to collect things for her first day at school. How quiet and soft spoken he'd been, how he'd kept to himself and never really joked around or smiled around her or anyone. How he'd changed so much since meeting each other.
"Let's lighten the mood~ thats enough emotion for one day" Darrick chuckled softly, "shall we watch a movie?"
"Okay~ Depends though, it better not be anything boring." Tess smirked, helping lighten the mood and shifted g where she sat she couldn't help but blush seeing she was sitting upon his thigh by his groin.
"What about~ Star Wars?" He insisted
"I've never liked Star Wars.."
"Oh okay~ uh any cartoons? What about lion king?" Darrick cocked a brow down toward her curiously.
"Nah~ it's over played" Tess shrugged
"Jeez tough crowd, what's your ideal movie then hm?" Darrick smirked as he looked down at her, seeing his ears had turned red as he appeared to notice her position in his lap.
"Anything~ You choose" Tess hummed, spreading out her legs before her to stretch her limbs before slowly standing to wander across his lap, thinking about an article she read on how to make love to your giant boyfriend, making her face light up a shade of red not believing someone had actually made an article considering mixed couples were so frowned upon.
Looking across his body, his strong thighs and muscular calves ripples across his legs, sucking in a small breath seeing that a bit of his torso was exposed under his shirt. Turning away, she decided to move further down across his lap so that she could slide down his inner thigh to come to stand between his two mountainous thighs, at her position she had a godly view of Darrick from between his knees. Swallowing tightly, she turned to try clamber back up his opposing thigh regretting her decision.
"I hate when girls say that~" Darrick murmured, avoiding looking down as he casually typed at his computer looking for a movie to watch together and ignoring the fact that Tess was standing between his thighs and climbing all over him, holding back his temptations and instead focusing on the screen, Tess rolled her eyes at Darrick while smiling a little to herself seeing his red ears. Grunting she dragged herself up his thigh once more, shifting up onto her stomach til she turned to sit back on his opposite large thigh. Taking a heavy breath, she began to regret not exercising for so long now.
