Forty-Five: What The-
Eyes opening slowly, she turned over onto her side, reaching out across the length of the pillow beside her to try grab onto the warmth of Darrick, the cool of the night air sending a shiver across her bare skin. When her fingers only grabbed the empty air, she slowly sat up looking down the length of the bed to see the room empty of any giant. Rubbing at her eyes, she pushed back the hair in her face, eyes squinted trying to adjust to the darkness. Looking over to Darricks side table, she could see the digital clock glowing, reading 2:10AM
"Darrick?" She croaked, moving to see she was moved on the pillow now and not on Darricks warm human sized chest. Yawning, she looked down seeing the emptiness of the mattress where Darrick had once laid. Shifting she moved down so that she slid down the length of the pillow, landing on the mattress caused her body to bounce a little as she hit and stumbled onto her knees with a groan as she lost her balance. Tired, she slowly slid down to lay on her stomach, still able to feel the warmth of Darricks body in the sheets where he'd once laid not too long ago. Maybe he'd just gone to the bathroom quickly, so she stayed laid on her stomach, curling her arms beneath her head she couldn't help it as she began to drift back to sleep. She liked sleep.

Tess couldn't tell when she woke up to the sound of footsteps, alerting her suddenly to sit up awake like a cat being sprayed with water, frightened incase another intruder had entered the room. Traumatised from the last time she'd been left alone in a giant bed.
"Shh it's okay it's just me~ go back to sleep" the familiar deepness of Darricks voice calmed her and she didn't hesitate to lay back down, not knowing or caring what time it was, she instead stretched and curled into a happy ball
"Mkay~" she mumbled, drifting back to sleep she felt Darricks fingers wrapping around her small body and gathering her up in her small human ball then placing her back on his giant chest. She happily curled into his shirt, soaking in the feeling. He was much warmer then she remembered and smelt a little like dirt and sweat, but in her sleepy state she didn't question it and fell back into a deep slumber with Darrick gently caressing her back.
At some point he must've dressed her too, cause she woke that morning to blinding sunlight and back in her hoodie and shorts, unable to recall when he must've done it.
Next day:
[ A U S T I N ]
That rug, that stupid old filthy rug of Coles, had seen more shoes than a ballroom Austin could still remember playing on it when they were only kids. Currently It was where people twirled, stumbled and laughed, the music escaping from every open window and door as Austin and familiar faces celebrated Coles production, musical or play. Whatever it was called. That rug had once been the colour of cherries, now it told an earthy tale of love and laughter, of more good times than anyone is ever promised. Coles mother could have replaced it, brought in another, but instead sat in the centre of the living room in all its glory
Austin was exhausted, he didn't drink and didn't even bother standing even for Coles little speech of thanks. Darrick was meant to arrive soon, whenever that'd be with Tess and he was hoping to speak to her again like the day before. Warming his heart at the though he found a tiny smile on his lips where he sat at the kitchen table, head in his hands trying to ignore the pounding of his head. He could barely stand the music, let alone the pain he felt with laughter. A lack of sleep from the night before didn't help, having had to sneak out late in the middle of the night to meet up with the boys.
Finding himself on his feet, he stepped up to the sink to down some water, resting his hand on his wrapped head. He definitely should lay down, maybe it wasn't the best idea to come out but also didn't want to miss out.
Without realising Austin found himself wandering upstairs trying to escape the bustle of downstairs, earlier Cole had been shouting with excitement as he spoke about his upcoming performance, reciting lines while having his arm wrapped firmly around Katys hip as they drank together to celebrate. Austin couldn't help the twine in his chest seeing them together, were they a thing? Surely not, surely Katy wouldn't go after someone like Cole. Austin didn't know why he was like this, felt so jealous over a girl that was never his in the first place and clearly didn't like him back. No matter how hard he tried, she never seemed to want him, which in his world probably wasn't very hard at all.
As he moved up the stairs toward The bathroom, having to hobble up feeling his heels grow heavy from the medication he was on and made his head buzz lightly. He shouldn't even be out, should be at home resting after his accident the day before and with no rest. He knew he'd be scolded when he got home, but really didn't care then, just needing to escape the music and maybe a bed.
As he continued, he heard a small thud and a familiar chuckle that austin immediately recognised was Jace. Hurrying up further, he came to the scene of Jace hanging from Cole, arms wrapped around the blondes neck and head dangling loosely from his shoulders. Cole was giggling lowly to himself, stumbling about the corridor as he tried dragging a mururing Jace into his bedroom and accidentally knocking jaces head into a wall
"Come on Jace, your so fat I can hardly carry you~" Cole grunted as he kicked the door to his bedroom in with his foot "ugh I'm too stoned for this" Cole huffed, spotting only then that ausyin was standing by them and his face spread into a lazy smile, red eyes only just parting as he looked to the tall boy
"Mind giving us a hand, he's drunk" Cole snorts, leant against the wall looking hardly close to being an image of sober
"I can tell~ and your drunk and stoned. What the hell has he been drinking?" Austin sighed, stepping closer to give the blonde a hand.
"Whiskey.. I told him to slow down but~ I don't know I'm so out of breathe~ grab his legs" coke let out a heavy breath, ignoring jaces groan as he clung to his limp body. Austin grabbed onto one of Jaces legs, using teamwork to drag the tall boy carelessly into Coles bedroom where they leant him against the wall to regain their breaths, accidentally hitting jaces head again. Together they looked down on Jace, Austin shaking his head at the drunk state of the boy who was smiling crookedly
"Oh my goh ~ Austy!" Jace beamed, lulling his head back loosely to try make eye contact with Austin who simply rolled his eyes in return. Idiot.
"I'll go get him some water~" Cole smiled sheepishly, rubbing at his red eyes he didn't wait a second for Austin to reply as he wandered out the door to retrieve water
"Wait !" Jace exclaimed, his hand reaching out loosely to grab onto Austin's shoulder as if trying to stop Cole who'd already left, "I need~ I need to tell you something but it's a bit.. a bit embarrassing !"
"Tell me once your in the bed~" Austin sighed, huffing as he tried to gather Jace into his arms
"No! No I need to tell you right now" Jaces head loosely lolled off his shoulder to lean against the wall, his eyes barely cracking open to look toward Austin who sat crouched beside him now with one hand on his friends shoulder to keep him from falling into his side. He'd never seen Jace so drunk before "I've been meaning to tell you this for a long time Cole. Yep"
"Cole left~"
"Shhhh! Don't interrupt me! This is important" Jace smushed his hand into Austin's mouth, silencing him quickly before leaning forward, his breath smelling strong of whiskey. Austin swiped his hand aside, quickly wiping his mouth on the collar of just shirt not know where jaces hands had been
"Your my best friend, and I'm really proud of you and what you've achieved." Jace sounded on the verge of tears "And Ive known you for so long and I hope we will be best friends for ever cause I truly love you, ever since we were kids I knew."
"Jace~ I'm Au~" Jace interrupted again, clamping his hands onto either side of Austin's face to drag him closer to his, Austin flinching at the smell of jaces breath
"Shhh~ I'm not finished! All I wanted to say is that~ I want you to know~" Austin raised his brow looking at Jace in his drunken state as his words cut off, as if thinking deeply on what to say next whilst Austin tried to pry Jace's fingers that clutched his face off from him.
"Jace come on~ let's get you into bed, your heavy as shit" Austin sighed, moving to wrap his arm around jaces waist to drag him onto his feet, grunting at the boys weight as he tried lifting him but was instead caught of guard as Jace leant forward, making austin stumble back into the bed frame underneath Jace. Grunting, he lifted his head to see Jace leaning over him and what he was about to do made Austin's eyes widen as suddenly without hesitation Jace's lips clashed with his own. Austin froze, his hands coming up to push Jace off but stopped suddenly in shock as Jace continued to press a messy kiss to his mouth, only pulling away when he needed to suck in a sharp breath of air
As Jace pulled away, it took several moments to process in Austin's head what had happened. Looking down at Jace now in his lap, unconscious and unaware of what happened, he felt a hard shiver run down his spine. Austins jaw fell slack and his face paled realising what this meant. Austin couldn't help but stare at Jace, wide-eyed and mortified. Jace fell quiet with a small smile playing at his lips as he fell slack into Austin's shoulder, resting his forehead into Austin as he wasn't drunk enough to hold his own body weight. Austin shoved Jace then off of him, letting him fall to the ground as his face twisted in disgust. Seconds of silence passed between the two, Austin trying to process what Jace did.
Austin only broke his confusion as he heard footsteps, turning to see Cole walk back into the room with a cup, "sorry I got distracted" Cole chuckled, moving to help drag Jace's limp body into bed while Austin quickly stood utterly confused and blushing, while Cole laughed at the sight of the other boy spread like a starfish on the mattress . Cole didn't take notice to Austin's stunned expression, too high and drunk to care as he took out his phone to snap pictures of Jace . As he slowly recovered from the shock, Austin felt embarrassed and agitated and somewhat tempted to actually push Jace out of the bed. Austin grudgingly stepped back into the hallway and hurried back downstairs, gripping the hand railing as if to rip it off the wall and also as he nearly stumbled over his own feet.
What the fuck!
