Fifty-Five: Grudge

Laying on her stomach, she kept her head turned away from Darrick that laid beside her upon the pillow. His head taking up one half of the pillow while she laid fully on her stomach beside him on the corner, he simply sat on his phone watching videos. If she were to look at him, he'd look at her quickly out the corner of his eye to see if she finally wanted to talk. Snapping her eyes back, she wouldn't dare speak to him, she was no longer scared, that having faded quickly since he wasn't actually hurting her but now she found herself more angry then anything, how dare he use his size to force her to stay.

Crossing her arms beneath her head, she closed her eyes in hopes to block Darrick out completely. She could hear him breathing, was deep and slow. He was so large she could feel the power of his lungs with every breath. She was able to feel every movement, sense as he'd turn to look at her to see if she was gonna speak, then look back at his phone. His phone was loud, too loud sometimes, with every video he passed making her head throb. She wished she had the ability to grow and shrink, she'd strangle his phone out of his hand and break that thing.

While she was angry, she felt guilty and ashamed at herself for what had happened at Jamie's. The image of Darrick face when having seen Chris kissing her, mostly forced to kiss him on Chris's part. But she still couldn't help but feel guilty because of it. Could feel a weight in the pit of her heart. Darrick was upset and she was also herself, she knew that if she had told the truth maybe she'd feel better about all this. But how could she, that would've only made Darrick angrier. She couldn't shake the feeling of guilt from having only told half the truth. Darrick still didn't know Chris was her ex. But it didn't mean he had to hold her captive in his room for a night. It was selfish of him and she couldn't shake some of the nerves from earlier from when he'd been angry at her, feeling shy to speak to him or even look at him

Maybe they needed some time apart, maybe they were to entangled in this relationship to think about the consequences and reality of what was really happening. She was human, he was giant. It usually never worked.

She wasn't about to be in a relationship where Darrick used his size to force her to do what he wanted, that being to stay over at his house, make her scared or simply to give him a kiss. Who knew what that would lead to if he got way over his head.

Letting out a slow breath through her nose, she forced herself not to cry by squeezing her eyes to keep the tears from pooling. What if it was the right thing to break up, maybe it would be for the better for the both of them. Giants and humans don't date, that was commonly known that it was even shunned by many. Her family back home included, they didn't even speak to mum anymore because of it. Imagine if they knew Tess was also interested in a total different species. Word had probably already gotten out, even Chris knew that she was with a giant, who else knew she was with Darrick

"Do you want anything to eat?.." Darrick spoke softly, sounding a little shy as he asked her since he obviously didn't know what to do now that she was actually here and clearly wasn't going to speak to him anytime soon. Tess didn't even bother to lift her head to look at him or answer his question. She shrugged her shoulders gently, his words from earlier ringing in her mind when he'd called her a child.

"Ok~" he sighed deeply, letting the silence grow between them for what felt like the longest minute ever before he grunted and rolled over. Tess's eyes snapped open as she felt the pillow they shared move beneath the weight of his head being lifted, then blushed as there was a soft pressure on her back, realising he was kissing her with his large lips, a quick kiss as if he were trying to apologise or comfort her. She rolled her eyes as he pulled back, pushing himself up to climb out of bed with his tree trunk sized arms. She eyed him, still on her stomach upon the pillow as she could only see his large legs walking as he headed to the door that separated his room from the rest of his house.

"You sure you don't want anything?" he spoke from the doorway, Tess simply grunted in response. Darrick stood there for a long second, as if waiting for her to suddenly sit up and everything be okay again, but instead she stayed on her stomach, ignoring him. He left with a gentle sigh, closing the door quietly behind him.

As he left she finally sat up, moving to grab her phone she quickly began texting the first person she knew would come get her right away.

Jace.

Tess: can you please come pick me up from Darricks

...

She sat waiting for a response for what seemed like an eternity. She switched between the chat and Jace's location. She knew he was at Austin's house, but hadn't been on his phone for ten minutes now. Quickly hiding her phone beneath her stomach as Darrick walked back into the room, she hid her face so that he wouldn't see she was clearly upto something.

"Mum, lay down please. Your stumbling" Darrick hovered by the door, Tess peered up at him quickly through her hands hearing him speak. He held a bowl in one hand, holding the door handle with his other, using his body to keep his mother from seeing into the room with his back to Tess. She couldn't see much, only the muscles in his back where they were pulled tight with every movement since he was shirtless

"I hardly see you anymore, Darrick. Why don't you come sit with me for a bit and we can have a talk" Tess heard his mother, she spoke soft but she could tell she was standing outside of Darricks room, her words a little slurred. Darrick sighed softly and moved out the doorway to help his mother, the door closing behind him, Tess could only hear soft muttering of the two conversing on the other side

Tess pulled her phone back out and looked to see if jace had answered. Nothing. What was he doing he always replied to her within seconds

As Darrick walked in again, she could feel his eyes on her body but didn't try to say anything to her yet. She was curious for a second what his mother was doing, considering she hadn't even been introduced yet to her. She sounded drunk, but Tess didn't pry further incase it upset Darrick. Darrick still didn't say anything as he sat down on the edge of the bed, Atleast she hoped he wouldn't say anything and let her lay there, maybe leave her til she fell asleep. She was hopeful until she felt his hand slide beneath her body, fingers easily lifting her up in one simple motion til she was placed onto his thigh, pulling her close til she was pressed against his stomach as meaning to hug her

"I'm sorry about earlier.. I hate this silent treatment your giving me right now," she looked up as he spoke, where she was being held cuddled into his stomach. Her stomach fluttered at the sight of him, his fingers warm as they hugged her body " besides, isn't it only fair considering I saw you kiss that guy" she felt the back of her neck warm at his words and she lowered her eyes "I'm over it now anyways, let's forget it happened"

She sat for a long second, looking at his fingers around her body, holding her as if trying to coax her to agree. Furrowing her brows she looked up again "I can understand how we'd both be mad right now, i am sorry what happened back at Jamie's but I had no intention of kissing Chris" she pushed at his fingers to escape his hold, turning to face Darrick where she had been placed on his leg. His eyes were wide as he looked at her, Tess never having really spoken up for herself to Darrick since he'd always make her go all mushy with just a look.

" I just don't appreciate how you didn't let me have a say in anything and just grabbed me. Instead of having a normal discussion about what happened, you just man handled me like I was your.. your pet or as if you owned me or something" Tess turned so she could slide off Darricks leg, slipping down onto the mattress where she stumbled a little on uneasy legs but quickly regained her balance. Moving away from Darrick on her own will and also not wanting to be touched in that moment, didn't want him picking her up or making her just forgive him "you embarrassed me also in front of all my friends.. carrying me out like that.." "I- I was angry, Tess, I apologised already" Darrick sounded sincere, and a little desperate but she didn't care cause now it was her turn to be angry "you know I'd never do that to you on purpose, I respect your space" Darrick set the bowl of food on his side table, sitting with his legs crossed and hands squeezing his knees as he looked down at his tiny angry girlfriend

"You showed tonight that you clearly don't respect my space" she turned away from him, ashamed she said that but also somewhat serious

"Tess your being unreasonable right now. I've already apologised" Darrick shifted on the bed to lean closer over her, clearly wanting to look her in the eyes but she wouldn't let him

"Darrick, your literally a giant. You could kill me if you wanted by 'accidentally getting angry'" she let her head fall at that, that was mean. Peering back at him a little to see his reaction she felt her heart drop into the pit of her stomach. His mouth dropped open a little, eyes watching her as if she had just sliced him with a knife.

Darrick looked hurt by her, shaking his head he shifted a little seeming uneasy by her words, she could feel her heart pounding and a deep feeling of guilt well up inside her again. Turning her eyes away she couldn't help but look at the pillow beneath her to avoid eye contact with him.

"What? You really think I'd actually do that to you?" He spoke softly, hurt by her words

"I don't know, Darrick. " she spoke, she really didn't know if he was capable of hurting her. Even if it were an accident his size told her otherwise to whether the answer was yes or no. So she left it at I don't know.

"Tess! Are you insane! I'd never hurt you!" His voice raised a little and Tess didn't get a second before Darrick was suddenly shrunken before her, walking forward out of his clothes, having become an expert in the art of shrinking and growing. He went to grab her hands to hold but she shied away, moving her hands behind her back "if you want me to, I'll stay small. I can do that for you, there's ways of staying small" Darrick looked down at her, biting at his bottom lip he looked like he was about to cry "I don't want you to be afraid of me"

"I'm not afraid of you. I'm just annoyed" she spoke under her breath. She moved out of his grasp and moved to her phone, pulling away from outstretched hands and sat down on the giants pillow, leaving Darrick standing at his human size, naked and by himself. She didn't care and gave a small huff as he just looked at her with soft eyes and tilted head, she wanted to punch him in that moment.

"Put your clothes back on" she snapped, curling herself up away from him. She hadn't been angry like this in a while and it felt kinda good to finally let her feelings out but also she wasn't holding anything back. She could tell she was hurting his feelings but also didn't care, he shouldn't have grabbed her earlier like that.

He blushed deeply looking down at himself and moved so he had room to grow, his body expanding before her eyes til he was at his original size once more. Pulling on his pants and shirt he moved away from the bed, the springs groaning as he stood up, hoisting his pants up around his hips to button. She had to keep her eyes down to not look at his body which would surely make her melt and forgive easily. Turning her eyes down she looked at her phone, finding herself scrolling aimlessly looking at random posts

"Please don't think like that" Darrick turned, leaning on the bed a little to look at her. Peering up through her eyelashes at his looming body, she felt heat growing on the back of her neck at the sight

"Well~ I do" she grumbled bluntly

Bang Bang Bang

"Oi, Darrick. You in there?" a voice all too familiar yelled from beyond the garage door, a few more loud knocks following and making Tess reach for her small ears at the thunderous claps of metal

"Austin?" Darrick groaned and moved to help Tess, with the loud banging, moving to scoop her up to shied her away, but his hands curled away as she glared at him. Maybe she was being too harsh to him, she had just kissed Chris which was bad, but he had annoyed her. What he had done wasn't okay also

"I'm bored let's do something!" the garage door lifted suddenly, swinging up and Austin appeared outside with a large smile on his face and head no longer bandaged. Walking in as if he owned the place, he smiled confidently now that his head was no longer bound by gauge

"Austin, kind of busy right now" Darrick stood to his full height, looking down on Austin who simply stood before him. He looked confused for a second, clearly not having noticed Tess until his eyes drifted down toward the pillow she sat upon behind Darrick

"Oh Tess! Your here also. Perfect" Austin stepped in further to the room, letting the garage door close behind him. Austin moved to sit down on the bed, looking down at the sheets he sat on he shifted a little "better be no naughty business going on in here"

"Austin" Darrick warned, Tess's face changing to a shade of red

"Calm down I'm joking." Austin chuckles and playfully bounces his eyebrows at Darrick, she then began to wonder whether Darrick had told austin what they'd done together. What had happened at Coles house when she'd found herself quit literally in Darricks pants

"What do you want Austin" Darrick crossed his arms, standing over Austin as if trying to be intimidating. There he goes again, using his size to try and get his way

"We'll, considering I'm all healed now! I wanted to have some fun. And I thought, considering our situation" Austin smirked "Darrick being able to really shrink and all" Austin bit at his lip trying to keep his smile tame "Hey that's pretty cool huh?" Austin motioned towards Tess who sat with her arms crossed still on the bed "you know, I knew he could shrink before you. Looks like I'm the favourite" Austin smiles, he was in a good mood today Tess noticed. She didn't answer Austin, keeping herself huddled on the pillow at the opposite end of the bed from Austin

"Your point?" Darrick sighed, pressing his hand to the side of his head as if he had been pained with a headache

"What if~ and this is only a thought. What if we test out whether you can grow?" Austin grinned madly like some sort of lunatic, he looked between the two as if waiting for the right answer. Tess's eyes widened at the idea and her eyes immediately snapped toward Darrick, seeing what he had to say

"I'm not doing that" Darrick spoke bluntly, his brows furrowed as he looked at Austin

"Why not?! I've held you naked when you were small what's wrong with growing. You could like crush a old building or something. Or bathe in the neighbours pool " Austin chuckled at himself at the idea

"That's just stupid, Austin" Darrick moved to try and get Austin up to leave, taking a long step he tried grabbing his arm to hoist up. But Austin pulled back, moving quickly for something so large Tess shifted a little back away from Austin incase he decided to fling himself in her direction

"No, not if we go somewhere private. Like the forest." Austin moved swiftly to duck Darricks hands and stood up off the bed

"No.." Darrick shook his head, reaching for Austin's collar to yank up

"What? You too embarrassed to whip your monster cock out or something?" Austin laughs, squirming out of Darricks grip he pushes Darrick so that he looses his balance, a few books knocking over Darrick sent Austin a glare

"No! Just, what if I get caught, I'm not even allowed to shrink let alone grow! What if I can't control it and hurt someone" Darrick stumbled again, loosing his balance but held himself up by using the wall, glaring at Austin who smiled playfully, on the balls of his feet ready for Darrick to try grab him again. He was full of energy, chaotic energy clearly as he wanted to get upto no good. Darrick looked toward Tess as he spoke, as if watching her for her thoughts on what to do. She could tell he wanted to in the way he kept looking at her.

"Don't be so pussy you'll be fine!" Austin looks to Tess also then back at Darrick, he was a bouncing ball of energy, hopping to side to side like he would if he were reading himself for a game of Backnott

"What if I don't want to" Darrick cocks his brow toward Austin, watching the smaller giant bouncing with energy.

"Just go" Tess interrupted, pulling her knees close to her. An even larger Darrick, that sounded absolutely terrifying and kinda hot, and she knew he wanted to. Could see how he looked at her knowing she would probably disagree

"Yes! Deal, see! Even Shorty agrees" Austin grins and moves quickly, ready to leave that instant. He began grabbing Darrick a jumper and shoes and shoved them into his hands, which Darrick held loosely in his hands and raised a brow at.

"I- " Darrick stuttered, his brows furrowing looking at her as if he had a big exclamation mark on his forehead. She shrugged her shoulders and leant into the pillow she sat upon, looking at her phone in case Jace had replied again. Nothing

"Drop me home first.. I'm not taking part in vandalising someone's property" Tess looked up form her phone at the two giants, austin nodding quickly not caring if she was coming or not. Just wanting to destroy something clearly while Darrick gave her a concerned look.

"Tess~" Darrick moved to sit next to her, nodding her head she shrugged again not really having anything to say, she didn't care what he did, if he wanted to crush someone's, house go for it. What was she gonna do anyways she was no bigger then his hand there was no point in even trying to stop him "I don't have to.."

"Just go, I don't care" Tess murmured, she did care but she didn't want to let on that she did. Darrick and Austin would more than likely get caught if there was a giant Darrick wandering around the forest

"Okay.. I wanna have a chat later though" Darrick reached out to pick her up, but she shifted a little so he wouldn't touch her. Petty, she was being petty and she knew that but she couldn't stop this mood she found herself in. Usually she would just forgive, especially with Darrick she found herself always on his side

Austin cleared his throat in the background awkwardly, moving slowly he began to back out toward the garage door to leave obviously noticing some tension between the two he lifted the garage door and stepped out the front onto the driveway to stand by himself.

"Tess" Darricks brows furrowed, looking a little annoyed at her now with how she was acting. He moved his hand for it to rest infront of her like a fleshy platform for her to climb onto "I've gotta pick you up to take you home"

"Fine.. only because I want to" Tess shifted to stand, she really didn't want to be picked up anymore. She wanted her own independence back, to not have to be carried around and told what to do or where to go. She wanted to walk outside by herself and not carried around like a little pet human that couldn't walk for herself. She had legs, she could do everything by herself quit perfectly actially. She didn't need to be carried in a pocket or hand, hell she even could go for her licence if she wanted. She didn't need to be driven around she could do it herself. But the giants of this world always thoughts otherwise, always helping when she didn't need help. Sitting in his hand, she begrudgingly got comfortable as he lifted her up.
