The atmosphere was thick and heavy, it birthed another strength for my monster to grow from. It's hands tightened around my neck as its claws of insecurity and worry clung on, leaving me with unwanted thoughts. Domination pungently hung in the air as the Alpha and the Beta sat across from one another. Both with dark eyes glaring at the other, neither willing to back down first. I coughed slightly as my dry toast found it hard to find it's way into my stomach. Both dangerous fixed looks were upon me. I could practically hear the monster laughing in my ear as my heart pumped faster. My monster thrived from my nervousness.

"You are to resume your normal post today. I will be taking Lilah with me to the Temple of the Mother while you are absent," the Alpha told the Beta.

"Why are you taking my mate there?" He scoffed in annoyance.

"I believe that Lilah would be able to learn quiet a bit of information about us by going. Plus it could help her heal, after your stupid move last week." There was an undertone of a snarl in the Alphas voice.

"She does not need to go there to heal. It is pointless thinking she'll learn anything about us, she doesn't have the desire to," he spoke matter of factly.

"I think it'd be a great experience for me to have, especially now because of-" I didn't continue my sentence as my hand lay against my stomach. He glared at me not knowing what I was playing at. I needed to be smarter and a lot more careful about this game I was playing with Donovan. If I played it right I might just get out of this alive, a plus would be taking his life while doing so.

"Go get dressed Lilah, we'll be leaving in twenty minutes." I stood up from my seat and walked towards the stairs.

It wasn't long before his presence was lurking in the doorway. "You didn't think you'd be picking your own outfit did you?" He grunted our approaching me.

My eye twitched, the physical evidence of how low of a tolerance I had for him. "Since when would you know what's comfortable for me? Don't you care if your pregnant mate is comfortable or not?" My innocent eyes didn't fool him.

He bared his teeth at me threateningly. My heart thumped a little faster seeing the fangs of danger glint at me. I was surprised to see him picking an off the shoulder dress for me, it came a little past my knee. The shock of him wanting to expose my skin woes off when I understood why, he wanted my scars on show. The evidence that I belonged to him in his eyes. I put the dress on and it clung to me, he forced me towards the mirror. I could see the evidence of the things inside me, my stomach was plumper than it was before. I knew it wasn't from food because I hadn't eaten anything. His fingers ran across his name that was etched into my exposed skin. I looked at him through the mirror, the sun shone through the window beautifully. He looked sinister as he was casted in shadows and they loomed over me, swallowing me whole. My skin was healing quicker than usual something I needed to ask the Alpha about. He turned me to face him, his burning lips touched mine. His bruising kiss made me feel nauseous, he pulled away from me growling mine in my ear. His hand caged my own dragging me back down the stairs.

The Alpha stood waiting by the open door, his eyes didn't look at me but glared at Donovan. The weight at my hand disappeared and I walked through the door. The Alpha loudly shut the door without anyone muttering a goodbye. I followed closely behind the powerful being in front of me, he opened the door to his car rushing me in.

Silence filled the car as I fiddled with my fingers feeling uncomfortable.

"Why didn't you ring me?" He asked lifting the hushed surroundings. I began to think of an answer for him only to realize that I didn't have one.

"I don't know. I knew Markus could look after my wounds, I didn't want him to know that I trust you." I admitted looking out the window. The trees zipped past us and shadows with four legs could be seen enjoying the dense forest. "Where exactly are we going Alpha?"

"Rowan, call me by my name you don't need to be so formal with me. We are going to the Mothers temple I wasn't lying about that."

"Why?" I whispered looking towards him.

"I understand that you have a lack of knowledge when it comes to my people, I hope that this will somehow help. I also understand that we are seen as monsters when it comes to your races view toward us, we aren't monsters but Donovan is." His eyes skittishly glanced at me and the road a few times. "I had one of our doctors run some test on Dons blood, I don't know why but it is different than our blood. He is different! I have all of my scientist and doctors studying it right now to figure out what the fuck he is. But that's not the worse part."

"What's the worse part?" I questioned nervously gulping.

"Whatever is in his blood has mingled with yours."

The car beeped behind us as Rowan locked it. We weren't aloud park the car on the sacred grounds or bring any type of technical devices. We stood near an entrance to the forest that was lit by torches. The trees stood towering over me casting my small frame in darkness.

"Take your shoes off," Rowan's voice called behind me. My eyes brows knitted together looking down at the grass.

"What? Why?" Not wearing shoes put me at a disadvantage if I needed to run. At the end of the day Rowan was related to Donovan, he could snap just like he does for all I know.

"You need to be connected to the outside world, to nature before entering the temple. Just trust me please-" his eyes picked up on the hesitation present in my own. I kneeled down and took my shoes off leaving them beside his by the car.

Slowly we began walking through the perfectly lined and winding torches. The earth underneath my feet felt foreign, the branches scraped and nipped at the sensitive areas of my sole. I followed in wonderment, taking in how beautiful the lighting made the surroundings. The slithering path began elevating up a slope, the earth under my feet grew softer. Soon we came to stone steps, once again I was enveloped by shadows. This time it was the silhouette of a beautiful stone building.

A cylinder shaped temple stood before us. Beautiful gems and symbols were carved into the rock, a giant entrance was inviting us in as silver stones winked at us. The stone opening was twice the height of Rowan. The structure although looked well kept and maintained well looked ancient and sacred.

"When do you build this?" I whispered out in awe, my hand touching the cold stone.

"Our temples go back to when we were first created, we were always present just like our temples, just like our packs and our way of life. We had glamours for our temples but there is no need for them anymore." He explained casually. He nodded his head telling me to go deeper into the mouth of the temple, to follow him and I did.

There was a few other Weres present, but they were too focused on their praises to their God than to pay attention to us. My eyes moved from side to side taking in all of the carving and paintings on the walls fascinated by it. The temple was beautiful, filled with magnificent details of beauty. We approached the heart of the temple, which had a crystal clear cerulean pond. The ceiling above the water had drawings of the different stages of the moon cycle in silver and gold paint. Across from where we stood in the pond was a mural of a majestically alluring woman. The longer I stared at the drawing the more familiar she became.

"Who is that?" I looked towards Rowan impatiently awaiting an answer.

"That's the Moon Goddess," he grunted out.

"I dreamt about her before," I frowned recalling my strangely vivid dream.

"Really?" He asked in disbelief. "There are only a few who have ever been visited by her through dreams."

"I wasn't visited, I probably read a book about her that made me dream about it." I shrugged it off not wanting it to be a bigger issue than necessary.

He looked at me strangely making me conscious of the dampening skin around my forehead. The Alpha sat down dipping his feet into the water, his eyes closed. I bent down looking at the numerous etches in the stone surrounding the pond. I couldn't see them all but I knew that they told a story.

"You might not believe or worship my goddess but you can appreciate the surroundings and meditate. Put your feet in the water, our stories tell us that the pools of the goddess has healing abilities-" he pointed towards the circular holes in the ceilings. "The moonlight comes through there and the goddess's power charges the water."

"That's amazing," I breathed out. I looked over at Rowan to see that his eyes were closed as he breathed evenly. I looked at the blue water not able to see where the pool ended, the depth frightening me. Hesitantly I slowly placed my feet in the cool water taking a deep breath in. I closed my eyes relaxing my breath. I felt at peace as serenity wrapped itself around me tightly.

I could hear the gentle splash of water making me frown. The water had been so calm not even a second ago, I peeled my eyes open only for the blanket of zen to be reefed off of me. I was no longer looking at crystal blue water but the familiar navy sea that I lay my eyes upon a few nights ago. I could feel the sand beneath my hands as I quickly clambered to stand. I was on the beach once again. I looked to my left to see the unearthly beautiful woman standing there, but this time I knew exactly who she was, the Moon Goddess.

"Hello," I called shakily.

"It's nice to see you again Lilah," her voice floated around me through the wind.

"Why am I here?" I didn't feel ashamed for being so nervous, I let it shine through my trembling tone and hands. I received no answer from her. "Why did you visit me the other night? Why did you try and convince me to want these things growing inside of me?" I didn't notice how my voice raised slightly but I did pick up on her glare as I questioned her.

"I needed you to be excepting of them in order for my energy to work. If you were full of anxiety and hatred you would have rejected my energy. You will birth all of five children and you will rare all five, there is no way around it, if you listened to what I told you it will be easier on you. There is so much you don't know Lilah and I can't explain it to you, but the girl born of your blood will be the answer." Her voice was soft and smooth but it didn't extinguish the anger stirring inside me.

"What does that even mean why can't you explain it to me." I begged her for an answer, the desperation gnawing at me.

"Remember what I told you last time and remember who I told you to speak with." I remembered our last encounter as clear as day but I didn't know if I could bring myself to go through with her advice.

"What will my daughter be the answer to?" I asked trying to be specific in hopes that she would respond.

"She will save my children, my first children."

"Werewolves? Why are werewolves in harms way?" My brows furrowed forward. They were the superior they had no competition.

She smiled sweetly at me. "No Lilah, my first children weren't Werewolves. They were your race, humans."
