I had to keep myself from tensing when I heard my pack's name, but I couldn't help but pause in walking before I continued. "Yara Pack?" I asked, and he nodded. I raised an eyebrow. "Why?" "Record this."
Corey scoffed, and I had a feeling that she rolled her eyes. "Bitch, please," she said, and I had to keep my face level, even though I wanted to raise an eyebrow. "I have been recording ever since he walked over to you. I will send you a link later, Doll."
I bit back a sigh of relief and mentally nodded. "Thanks, Babe," I said. "I owe you."
Bryant nodded. "Yes," he said. He cleared his throat and let go of my hand before he pulled out a seat on the other side of the table so that I was sitting in front of the blonde. "We have him stationed at that pack."
"Why?" I asked. "If I may ask." I smoothed the bottom of my dress and sat down, smiling at Mindy before I looked at Bryant. I raised an eyebrow and cocked my head while I studied Bryant.
"You always owe me," she said. She paused, and I had a feeling that she raised an eyebrow. "Does that mean..."
"Later," I promised, knowing full well that she was talking about the ring. "I'm busy."
She scoffed, and I knew that she rolled her eyes. "You're always busy," she said, and I mentally shrugged. "Isn't she, Anthony?"
"Shut up," Anthony said, and I bit back a snort. "Let her focus."
Corey muttered something under her breath, but she seized in her talking. They had moved positions so that I was in their view, and they would help me if I needed it.
Mindy scowled and folded her arms across her chest. "Don't tell her, Love," she said, and I almost gagged because I had no idea what she saw in this sleazy man. "She could warn that pesky pest in that pack."
I raised an eyebrow and cocked my head. "Who?" I asked.
"Alexandra," she replied, spitting my name out with disgust before she pursed her lips. She studied me with narrowed eyes, and I could tell that she didn't trust me. "You do know her, correct?"
I nodded. "I do," I confirmed. "She is the adopted daughter of the king if my memory serves me right."
"That's the one," Bryant said. He sat down on one side of me and left the seat closest to the door free for the Alpha that was to arrive at any moment now. He scowled and took a sip of his drink. "She has been a thorn in my side, and so has her grandmother."
I raised an eyebrow and made a mental note to ask her what he was talking about. "Her grandmother?" I asked. "She's just a crazy tea lady and nothing important. I don't know how she is a thorn in your side."
Bryant scoffed and rolled his eyes. He took a swig of his drink and looked at the bar to see that the bartender was still not there. He scowled and looked at me, his eyes hard. "You don't know her that well; do you?" he asked, and I shrugged.
"What is there to know?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"A lot," he replied. He sighed and took another sip of his drink before he shook his head and pursed his lips in disgust. "And I thought that the bitch was bad enough."
"Who?" I asked and cocked my head, curious, even though I had a feeling that he was talking about me.
"Alexandra," a male said from behind me, and I had to keep my composer as well as make sure that I didn't shiver. Levi took the seat next to me, and a scowl was on his face. Confusion filled his eyes, and I wondered if he knew it was me or not, even though I had made sure to cover my scent. "He is talking about Alexandra."
"Levithan," Bryant scolded and narrowed his eyes at the male. He folded his arms across his chest and leaned back in his seat. "You are late," he said. "Where have you been?"
"Around," he replied. He cleared his throat and shifted in his seat when Bryant kept staring at him, and he looked down. "I went to see her," he said. "Again."
Bryant shook his head and scowled. "How many times have I told you not to see her?" he asked, bitter disgust in his voice. He glared and narrowed his eyes at my best friend, and it took all of my self-control not to growl protectively. "Do I have to set a stronger spell on you?" he asked.
Levi set his jaw and shook his head. "No, Sir," he said. "You don't have to set a stronger spell on me."
"Then do not go see her," he said. He bared his teeth and growled while he narrowed his eyes further at him. "She will ruin everything."
"Who?" I asked and raised an eyebrow. I looked at Levi and then at Bryant while I cocked my head and studied him. "Who is going to ruin everything?"
"Alexandra DeLamont," Levi said. He narrowed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to get my scent. "He is worried that she will try and hinder his success in t-"
"I still don't think we should trust her," Mindy said, interrupting Levi from talking. She glared at me, and I raised an eyebrow in question and smirked. "She could tell everything to her, and our plans are ruined."
I pouted and cocked my head. "Awww," I said and blinked my eyes. "Is some afraid of me?" I asked, and her face grew paler. I smirked and leaned back in my seat while I folded my leg across the other one. "I won't tell if the price is right." I looked at my nails. "I could even help."
Levi snorted, and I looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "And what will you do?" he asked. "Flirt with her?"
"I could flirt with you," I said and gave him my most seductive look while I leaned forward and stared at him. I internally grinned when he looked at me in disgust and leaned away from me. "Is that what you want?"
"No," Levi said. He gestured to Mindy, and I glanced at her before I looked at him. "I am mated to Mindy."
I scoffed and rolled my eyes. "Please," I said. "Unless there is a threesome going on, then I don't think so."
"And what if there is one?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "Would you mind?"
I shrugged. "Why not make it a foursome?" I asked. "I have done it once, and it was quite enjoyable." I winked and smiled innocently. "You should try it."
"I am good with one partner in bed," he said, and I pouted. His scowl deepened, and he folded his arms across his chest. "And that doesn't include you."
I smirked and placed my feet squarely on the ground while I stared at him, ignoring both Bryant and Mindy. "Hmph," I said. "Just wait, Handsome." I placed my hands on his legs and leaned forward, grateful that I had done something to make sure that there would be no sparks if I ever met my mate while I was the Viper.
Levi stiffened, but he didn't shove me off like I thought he would. His heart pounded hard in his chest, and I really wanted to feel it against my hand, but I held myself back because I knew that he would know that it was me if I did.
I leaned closer to his ear, my breasts barely touching his chest. "I will be in your bed with no clothes on and entangled in your arms," I said, my voice barely above a whisper so that only he could hear, and he took a deep, shuddering breath while his heart skipped a beat. "You can bet on that." I didn't lick his ear like I wanted to but pulled away from him and smirked. "You won't be able to resist for long."
"Try me," Levi said. His eyes were a darker color, and I had no idea what was going on in his mind. He studied me, trying to see if I was her or not, and I had no idea if he would be able to figure it out and prayed that he wouldn't.
"Oh, I plan on it," I said. I looked towards the counter when Anthony warned me that Chase was back and saw him looking for me. "Well, this was a lovely chat, but I have to go," I said and stood up. "It looks like my... personal business is ready to be taken care of."
Bryant's face turned to that one of shock, disgust, and annoyance all at once. He opened his mouth to say something before he closed it again. He cleared his throat and shifted in his feet while he stared at me with wide eyes. "But w-"
"We can discuss this later and the price," I said, gesturing around the table at those that were gathered. "I will have someone give you a way to contact me." I turned towards Bryant and patted him on the cheek. "Just be a dear and contact me at night." I smirked. "I sleep during the day. It's why I am called "the monster of the night,"" I winked before I looked at Levi. "I mean what I said," I said, a sly smile appearing on my face. "Ciao."
After that, I turned on my heels and walked away with all three of them staring at me in stunned silence.
