There was this pounding at my door after I was finished with my quick shower, and it sounded like he was trying to break down my door.

I rolled my eyes and scowled while I tried to ignore him so that I could get ready. I picked up the outfit and tossed them into the closet before I stormed over to the bedroom door with a towel over my head and one wrapped around my body.

Annoyance filled my body, and I wrenched open the door where Levi was paused midswing. "Do you mind?" I all but snapped, and his eyes grew wide and were filled with shock because he didn't expect me to open the door, especially in a towel. I folded my arms across my chest and scowled, not even fazed about being in front of him in just a towel and still dripping wet. "I was taking a shower, Alpha. There is no need to be rude."

Levi opened his mouth and blinked before he blinked again. Shock and lust filled his eyes while he looked me up and down, and I could tell that he hadn't expected to see me in a towel so soon. "Uh..." he said, and his gaze landed on my breasts.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes while I scowled. "Oh, no," I said sarcastically and snapped my fingers underneath his nose, and his gaze instantly went up to meet my eyes while his cheeks turned slightly red. "The Alpha is broken. Whatever should we do?"

The Alpha scowled and narrowed his eyes while he looked at me. His face turned redder than it had in the past, and I had a feeling that he was feeling a bit bashful because he had seen me in a "compromising" situation, even though I did not care. "Move," he said, his voice hard and holding a warning that told me I should obey.

However, I didn't and leaned against the doorframe, not even fazed about being in a towel in front of him because I had done something similar but with a different male. "Hmmmm." I tapped my chin while I "thought" about his command. "No," I said and shook my head while I put my hand on my hip, "I don't think so."

Levi growled murderously and shoved me back a step with such force that I took a step back into my room, not expecting him to do that. "Goddess, damn it, Alexandra," he snapped. "For once in your precious little life, why can't you do what I tell you to do?" He slammed the door shut with a loud bang and glared.

I quickly recovered and glared at him while I placed both hands in my hips and jutted one out. "One, because you didn't ask nicely, dumbass," I said. "And two, you're not even supposed to be in here. DIdn't I tell my grandmother not to let you in?" I raised an eyebrow and scowled, letting him see the dissatisfaction I felt for being pushed around like a ragdoll.

Levi opened his mouth to say something before he closed it. He shifted on his feet and cleared his throat while he didn't look at me. He didn't say a word, and I had a feeling that he shoved past her too.

"Oh, for the love of Goddess," I snapped, and my scowl deepened. I narrowed my eyes, and my anger slowly started to boil over while I stared at him. "Do not tell me that you ran over my grandmother to get here."

Levi opened his mouth again and shifted on his feet some more. He hung his head in shame, and I growled, murderously, protective of my grandmother because she was the only family I had left.

'Grams?' I asked, my voice showing my anger. I took a step towards him and glared, and he stayed in his spot and didn't try to move or calm me down. "Well?" I asked and all but snapped at him, and he flinched.

'I'm fine," my grandmother said soothingly, and I relaxed a little. 'Do not scare the poor boy, Alexandra May,' she scowled. 'I moved out of his way as soon as he came towards me. He didn't hurt me at all.' She became annoyed with him. 'He didn't give me a hug like he was supposed to, but that is it. There was no physical harm that happened to me.'

I mentally rolled my eyes at my grandmother and closed my eyes. I took a deep breath and let it out, trying to control my anger against him. "Sorry," I grunted and opened my eyes to see that he was still looking at the floor, ashamed. "I didn't mean to get that angry at you."

That was a lie because I did mean to get that angry with him. I was so annoyed that he tried to run my grandmother over that I had no idea what I was going to do with him.

'Do not do anything to him, Alexandra May,' my grandmother scolded. 'Calm yourself down before you hurt him. You do not need to act like this. Do you understand?'

I didn't reply and pressed my lips into a thin line. I had every right to act like this because I was very protective of my grandmother, even though I knew that she was capable of holding out on her own, especially since she was a strong woman who hadn't had someone to lean on in a while like a mate.

Levi cleared his throat and shifted on his feet. "I'm sorry, too," he said and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "I wasn't thinking straight."

"Well, no shit," I said sarcastically. "If you were, then you wouldn't have barged into my grandmother's house like that."

He cleared his throat again and looked anywhere but me. There was a slight tinge on his cheeks, and I had a feeling that it was from both fear and a blush because I was still half naked in front of him. "Can you put on some clothes?" he asked, finally, and I raised an eyebrow. "Please?"

I smirked and cocked my head. "Why?" I asked and raised my eyebrow higher. "Don't like this look?" I folded my arms across my chest and became a little self-conscious about my body. I had no idea if he liked the look or not and prayed that it was only because he hadn't seen me like this in a while.

Levi growled and set his jaw. He narrowed his eyes and scowled, and I raised an eyebrow, not knowing what his problem was. "Because I am not supposed to want this," he said and gestured to me up and down. "He doesn't have a say in it."

My whole body grew tense, and a shiver went down my spine. I made sure to keep my face composed while I stared at him, and I made sure that my heart didn't pound as hard as it wanted to.

He doesn't have a say in it. His words echoed in my brain while I stared at him, for once, silent. He doesn't have a say in it.

Levi wants me just as much as I want him.

I quickly composed myself and smirked while I cleared my throat. "Well," I all but purred. "I guess it's your fault that you get to see me like this, isn't it?" I raised an eyebrow in question, and Levi growled and narrowed his eyes while he scowled.

"No, it's not," he defended himself. "It is not my fault that I get to see you like this." He gestured to me up and down, and I raised my eyebrow higher. "It is yours."

"Oh, and how is it my fault?" I asked and took a step towards him, this time not in an aggressive manner but in a sultry and sly way, and he stayed rooted in his spot. "I mean, I am in my bedroom. This is my space that you had decided to barge in on."

Levi gulped, and his Adam's Apple bobbed up and down with that gulp. He kept his eyes on me, and I could tell that he was starting to hesitate, questioning what he had gotten himself into. "You shouldn't be naked in your bedroom," he said, his voice shaking.

I laughed and tossed my head a little. "Oh, you poor unfortunate soul," I said, my voice filled with mock concern. "That is not how it goes, Alpha," I said. "Now, why are you here in my room where you do not have the right to tell me what to do or not to do in it."

Levi didn't say a word and looked at me. There was a flash of guilt that flickered through his eyes, but it was gone before I could say anything about it.

"So, are you going to tell me why you are here or not?" I asked and raised an eyebrow.

Levi sighed and shook his head while he looked down, not able to meet my gaze any longer. "Not," he said, finally. "It doesn't matter now anyway."

I pressed my lips into a thin line and narrowed my eyes at him while I studied the male before me. Curiosity filled my body, but I knew better than to push him, at least for now. "Ok," I said and shrugged, and he raised an eyebrow in shock.

"What?" he asked.

"I said, "ok,"" I replied. I scowled and narrowed my eyes while I looked at him. "Now, can you leave so that I can get dressed? We have a meeting that we have to go to."

Levi raised an eyebrow. "We?" he asked, and I nodded in confirmation. "What? With who?"

I didn't reply and moved around him until I was at the door. I opened it and gestured for him to leave.

Levi scowled and narrowed his eyes. He folded his arms across his chest while he stayed put, watching me with eyes that were filled with anger and annoyance.

"Well," I all but purred. "The less you know, the better. You should be grateful that I am taking you to this meeting because if it were up to me, you wouldn't even be at this meeting." I shook my head and sighed, ignoring his flinch. "But alas, it isn't up to me."

Levi raised an eyebrow and cocked his head while he studied me. "Who is it up to then?" he asked.

I smiled and shook my head. "Can't say," I replied. "I guess that should give you more motivation to leave my room and let me get dressed. Doesn't it?"

Levi narrowed his eyes before he finally ceded. "Fine," he grunted. "But that doesn't mean I like it."

And with that, he left, and I slowly closed the door behind him.

I let out a small breath of relief and leaned my head against the door.

Goddess, I prayed, closing my eyes. Please let Horus know what he is doing. Please.
