A/N: I know that I am late. I do apologize, but I hope you enjoy.

I took the cup in my hands, and Levi followed suit. I didn't take a sip of the tea and rubbed the ceramic cup, waiting to see if Levi would take the first sip.

Sure enough, Levi took the first sip, and the bond between the cups had me taking a sip too.

Horus leaned back in his seat and slowly nodded. A relieved smile appeared on his face, and my mate frowned because he did not know why Horus was smiling and looking so pleased.

"What?" Levi asked with a warning tone in his voice. "What is it?"

"It seems to me that Hwei-ru was right," he said and nodded, pleased. "You two are connected." He glanced at Levi before he looked at me.

Levi furrowed his brows and cocked his head. Confusion was written on his face, and I know that it was because Horus had called my grandmother by her birth name and not by her "nickname." "Who?" he asked, letting the confusion filter in his voice.

I rolled my eyes and scowled, not knowing why Horus called her by her birth name when almost everyone called her either Grams or Ruby. "You know her as Ruby, Alpha," I said. I shrugged and took a sip of my drink, and Levi took a sip in turn. "He's talking about Grams."

Levi frowned and cocked his head while he studied me. "But I thought that her name was Ruby," he said. "I mean, that was what everyone calls her."

I shook my head, no. "My great-grandmother and that side of the family called her Hwei-ru. She got that nickname from my grandfather, and then it went on from there."

Levi slowly nodded and furrowed his brows. "Where is your grandfather?" he asked while he looked at me. He hesitated and cleared his throat while he shifted in his seat. "He's been wondering about it..." he said hesitantly, "but he didn't want to ask..."

"Dead, I think," I said and shifted while I grimaced. I took a sip of my drink, and Levi followed suit. "I don't know much, but I think that he is dead."

Horus didn't say a word and shifted in his seat, and I caught it from the corner of my eye and instantly turned to look at him. He raised an eyebrow when he felt me looking at him and kept calm. "Yes?" he asked, and I scowled and narrowed my eyes. "What is it?"

"What do you know?" I asked, my voice hard and sharp. "Is my grandfather still alive?"

Horus shrugged. "Why would I know anything about your grandfather?" he asked and raised an eyebrow. "I don't know if he is alive or not."

He was lying; I could tell. However, I had no way to prove that he was lying to me or not, so I decided to let it go.

For now, but I will find out what he was hiding.

Levi was oblivious to the whole thing, and he looked between us, confused. "What... is going on?" he asked, and I shook my head while I looked at him.

"It's nothing," I replied coldly and took a sip of my drink when he opened his mouth to question us further, and he couldn't help but take another sip too.

Levi scowled and narrowed his eyes. He tried to let go of the cup, but he couldn't, and his eyes grew wide in shock and fear while he stared at the cup. "What the fuck?" he asked, and his heart started to pound hard in his chest while he tried to remove his hands from around it again. "Why can't I let go of my cup?"

"Because you two haven't finished your tea," Horus replied and leaned back in his seat. He looked at me and smirked, and I could tell that he was amused that I wasn't freaking out just as bad as he was. "When you finish, then you will be able to release your grip on the cup."

"But why?" Levi asked. He again tried to release his grasp from the cup and growled in annoyance when he couldn't. "Why can't I let go?"

I sighed and shook my head, getting annoyed with his behavior. "Because it is a magical item, stupid," I said. "I am pretty sure that the base of these cups is to connect those whose spirits are intertwined with one another and show the seer, in this case Horus, that they were meant to be, even though fate had decided to put them with someone else first."

I made a mental note to ask if he did this to Filip and Bea and wondered what those results were when we were alone.

Were they connected like I suspected?

Levi looked at me with a blank look on his face. He blinked and blinked again, and I could see the confusion written all over his face. "Why aren't you freaking out?" he asked.

"Because this isn't the first time this happened to us," I replied. "I had my moment of "freaking out" yesterday."

Levi furrowed his brows and cocked his head. The confusion grew further while he studied me. "What do you mean?" he asked.

I shrugged and took a sip of my drink, and Levi followed suit because he couldn't stop himself from doing it. "Because he isn't the only one that had done this to us," I replied after I was done taking that sip.

Levi didn't respond. He stayed silent while he waited for either me or Horus to explain what was going on and why he couldn't remove his hands from the cup or drink when I drank.

"Grams did it," I replied, and he raised an eyebrow in question. I slowly nodded in confirmation to his silent question. "Grams wanted to see the same thing." I looked at Horus and raised an eyebrow in question. "I take it that it was your doing?"

Horus smiled and shook his head, no. "I didn't do it," he replied. He narrowed his eyes and scowled when I opened my mouth to say something else that the controlled Levi didn't need to hear, so I closed it instead. "Not a word, Miss DeLamont," he warned. "There are some things that do not need to be discussed."

I scowled and narrowed my eyes but didn't say a word. I ignored Levi's look between the two of us and knew that he didn't like being kept in the dark. I squashed the feeling of guilt in my stomach because I knew that it was for his safety and mine.

"You will know in time, Young Alpha," Horus said and looked at him. He smiled and dipped his head apologetically. "Unfortunately, some things are better left in the dark, especially due to your... current situation." He gestured to the other male, and Levi frowned and looked down, staring at the cup of tea.

Pain and guilt filled his eyes, and I couldn't help but wonder what was going on in his head.

Was he starting to feel guilty too, or was it my Levi that was feeling guilty about what had happened?

Hours turned his gaze to me and frowned, and I had a feeling that he knew what I was thinking. "Now, now," he scolded softly. "They are becoming one in the same. Your Alpha and the controlled Alpha are the same person and are slowly starting to share the same mindset and have the same feelings."

Levi looked up and furrowed his brows. "I am?" he asked. He wrinkled his nose and pursed his lips when he realized what he had asked and cleared his throat. "Er... we are?"

Horus nodded in confirmation. "Yes," he replied simply. He cleared his throat and shifted in his seat before he leaned back in it. "Unfortunately, I am not at liberty to say much about it, for I do not know much, but you two are becoming the same person."

He gestured to me, and Levi looked at me before he looked at Horus. "You both are attracted to her and are bonded to her. What they tried to do didn't work but only slowed down the process."

"Meaning...?"

I sighed and rolled my eyes, not knowing why he hadn't figured this out yet. "We are mates, Alpha," I said, and he looked at me, "second chance mates, but we are still mates. Our souls are bound together like they once were with another person."

"But... I, er he, hadn't accepted the r-r-" He set his jaw and blew air out his nose in an annoyed manner because he couldn't say rejected like he couldn't say that he loved me.

"He has in a way," Hours said. "Yes, you two are not able to say rejected nor love, but that is besides the point." He pointed to his head. "In his mind, he has already accepted his first mate's rejection and began to love Miss DeLamont instead. That was the start of it."

"And one day he'll be able to say it?" Levi asked, studying Horus, and Horus nodded in confirmation.

"Yes," he replied simply. "However, it won't be today, but it will be soon." He smiled and cocked his head while he studied us with a gaze that saw all but nothing as well. "Yes," he said again, his voice becoming breathless as if he received a memory or a vision of some sort. "It will be soon."

But it will not be soon enough.
