The Puppetmaster pressed his lips into a thin line before he opened his mouth when Bryant's phone rang. He bit back an annoyed sigh and looked at Bryant, scowling.

'The Alpha has left the house and called the phone,' Anthony said, and I pressed my lips into a thin line. 'That's why there is a phone call.'

Bryant flinched and cleared his throat before he answered his phone. "What did you find out?" he asked.

"Nothing of interest," Levi said, and I had a feeling that he was lying. "Is the Viper still there? Is she safe?"

I rolled my eyes and scowled. "I'm still here, Alpha," I said with a small purr in my voice and smirked. "What do you think?"

Levi didn't say a word, and the Puppetmaster pressed his lips into a thin line, annoyed. He cleared his throat after he breathed a sigh of relief. "You're safe?" he asked, and I hummed and nodded.

"I am," I confirmed out loud, and he breathed another sigh of relief. "I am safe."

"Good," Levi said, and I bit back a small smirk while I raised an eyebrow.

The Puppetmaster gave me a weird look, and I had a feeling that he didn't understand why Levi cared about me so much, which I didn't understand either. "Now, what do you have to report?" he asked. "What happened at the DeLamont house?"

"Not much," Levi replied. He groaned when the Puppetmaster did something to him. "I am serious," he said. "Alexandra decided to keep her grandmother quiet by warning her too many times."

"Why was that girl there?" Mindy asked. She looked at the Puppetmaster. "Can we kick the two of them out?" she asked. "They are going against y-"

"No," the Puppetmaster said, interrupting her with a shake of his head. He scowled and narrowed his eyes while he stared at her. "We need them there."

I raised an eyebrow and looked slightly impressed. "Why?" I asked, and he looked at me. "Why do you need them there? It seems to me that they are causing problems. Aren't they?" I cocked my head and bit back a small smirk while I studied him.

"You don't need to know," the Puppetmaster said and shook his head with a small scowl on his face, and I raised the eyebrow higher in question. "That is not why we are needing your assistance."

I bit back a scoff and rolled my eyes. "Of course it is," I muttered while I shifted on my feet. "I am going to need information. If I am having to watch over the DeLamont's and have the King breathing down my neck because of this, then I should have information about why they are so "precious" to you."

"Don't keep pushing him," Levi warned. "You could g-" He groaned in pain when the Puppetmaster did something to him.

I shook my head and tsked. "Please," I said with a small scoff. "It'll be hard to injure me or get me killed." I looked at the Puppetmaster and grinned. "It won't be the first time that someone tries to kill me."

"He has friends, Viper," Levi said through gritted teeth, "bad friends that could h-" Again, he groaned in pain while the Puppetmaster did something to stop him from talking.

"Funny because I do too," I said and grinned while I looked at the Puppetmaster. "I wonder if our friends know each other."

The Puppetmaster pressed his lips into a thin line but didn't say a word. Annoyance flickered through his eyes, and I bit back a small smirk while I dipped my head closer to my chest.

"Still, be careful, please," Levi said.

"See? She is Alexandra," Mindy said while I looked at her. She gestured to me and scowled while she narrowed her eyes. "Why else would Levi care about her?"

"Maybe because I have a brain?" I asked and raised an eyebrow. "He doesn't want someone to kill me."

Mindy narrowed her eyes and growled. She took a threatening step toward me, but I stayed put near the Puppetmaster. "You stupid bitch," she hissed and bared her teeth, and her eyes flashed. "I am going t-"

"Don't," the Puppetmaster warned, and Mindy backed down slightly, but that didn't stop her from glaring at me. "Do not attack her without my permission, is that understood?"

Mindy bowed her head and looked away from me. "Yes, Master," she said before she cleared her throat and shifted on her feet. "My apologies."

I grinned while I dipped my head closer to my chest, amused. "Awwww," I said teasingly. "It looks like the Puppetmaster does care about me."

I sent him a small kiss, and he scowled and narrowed his eyes.

"I would watch it, Miss Viper," he warned while he turned his attention to me, and my grin grew wider. "I would allow her to attack you."

"Don't," Levi warned. "Please, don't let Mindy attack her."

I laughed and rolled my eyes while I shook my head. "Oh, please," I said while I sneered and narrowed my eyes at Mindy. "She can't do anything to me."

The Puppetmaster raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure that she can't?" he asked, and I shrugged but smiled.

"I would like to see her try," I said while I dipped my head closer to my chest. I bit back a small smirk while I narrowed my eyes further at the female before me. "I am sure that I will be able to do something and make it so that she doesn't mess with me."

"Hmph," the Puppetmaster said before he looked between the two of us, and I could tell that he wanted to see what I could do but for some reason chose not to.

I cocked my head and smiled sweetly at him. "What?" I asked in a sickly sweet voice. "What is it that you are wanting to know, Love?" I asked and raised an eyebrow.

He waved me off dismissively, and I held back an eye roll and a small scowl. "It is unimportant, my Dear," he said, and I silently seethed.

"Sir!" Levi exclaimed.

The Puppetmaster sighed and scowled at the phone. "Mindy will not attack her right now," he said, drawing out the "now" for some reason. "However, there will be a fight between the two of them so that Mindy may test out the Viper's skills." He looked at me and smiled, but it turned into a sneer. "If that is ok with you, of course."

I smirked and shrugged, nonchalant. "I get paid by the hour, so that does not matter to me unless I get paid," I replied, and the Puppetmaster scowled and narrowed his eyes.

"And who says that you are getting paid?" the Puppetmaster asked and raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, hell to the fucking no," Corey said. "That is not going to fly." She paused before she smirked. "Kick his ass."

"Do you want help or not?" I asked, ignoring Corey because all I wanted to do was roll my eyes and scowl. "I do not work for free, and I do not want the king up my ass for whatever reason without a price." I nodded to Bryant. "He should have told you this before I came to meet you."

The Puppetmaster glanced at Bryant before he looked at me. "He has," he confirmed with a slow nod. "However, he was lying to get you here."

I bit back a sigh and shook my head. "Welp, then I guess this meeting is done," I said and started to walk to my bike, making sure to keep an eye on them. "I guess that I am not needed."

Bryant growled and took a threatening step toward me, but the Puppetmaster gestured for him to stop, and thankfully, he did. He narrowed his eyes and bared his teeth, and I raised an eyebrow in question. "You shall stay and leave when you aren't needed."

I bit back a laugh and rolled my eyes. "Oh, please," I said coldly while I dipped my head closer to my chest. "Do not test me, Doll."

"What about you not testing us?" the Puppetmaster asked and raised an eyebrow, and I turned my attention to him and bit back a small smirk. "You don't know what we can do."

"And you don't know what I can do," I replied. I pulled on my helmet and clipped it before I looked at them through the visor. "My suggestion is that you either pay me what I am worth or watch out because you do not want me as an enemy."

"And you don't want us as your enemy," the Puppetmaster warned. He narrowed his eyes and scowled while he took a threatening step toward me. His eyes turned darker, and I bit back a small snort and rolled my eyes.

"Sir," Levi warned, and I could hear the panic in his voice. "Please."

"Hmph," I said and ignored Levi while I stared at the Puppetmaster. "You won't be the first person to threaten me, and you will not be the last, Love." I narrowed my eyes and scowled while I grabbed my bike and got on. "But I will make sure that your... threats don't happen."

"How?" the Puppetmaster asked and raised an eyebrow. "How are you going to do that?"

I smirked and shook my head, not answering his question. "I will see you when you decide to pay me. Bryant has my number."

And with that, I started my bike, kicked the kickstand up, and started to reverse it, not surprised that they didn't try to keep me longer.

Well, this meeting was a bust.

But maybe, just maybe, something good would come out of it...
