"Do you want to take a shower before you talk to everyone, Dear?" my grandmother asked and raised an eyebrow in question while she glanced at me from the corner of her eye.
I was about to nod but paused before I shook my head with a small grimace on my face. "No," I said before I cleared my throat and shifted ever so slightly, trying to get comfortable but still on my grandmother because I knew that I wasn't steady on my own two feet.
I closed my eyes before I opened them and took a deep breath, releasing it with a small whoosh and trying but failing to relax. "I will talk to everyone, take a shower, and then get more information because I need to get that stuff done before I go to bed."
My grandmother pressed her lips into a thin line, and worry flashed through her eyes when she heard that I wouldn't fall asleep as soon as I was done with my shower. "Are you sure that you don't want to fall asleep after your shower, Dear?" she asked and raised the eyebrow higher in question. "I mean, it has been a long and eventful day for you, and you need the rest."
I rolled my eyes and snorted, pressing my lips into a thin line. "I know that it has been a long and eventful day, but it's not over yet, Grams," I said and shook my head. "I want to get this done and if members of my other group want to come and talk, then they are able to, but please come in from the back and make sure that you aren't seen."
'Awww, she said please,' Corey said with a small squeal in his voice, and I rolled my eyes and scowled, pressing my lips into a thinner line. She snickered before she grew serious, mentally bowing. 'We are on our way, Alpha, and we will be at the house soon.'
'Don't call me Alpha,' I threatened with bared teeth, earning a small snicker from the female. 'Is Anthony with you?' I bit back a tired sigh and closed my eyes, leaning my head closer to my grandmother's shoulder, and my grandmother picked up her pace so that we could be in the living room before either my grandmother dropped me or before I passed out and would need her to carry me fully, which wouldn't be comfortable for either of us.
'Yes,' Anthony said, and his voice was traced with guilt and pain. He cleared his throat and licked his lips. 'I am still with Corey, and I will be at the meeting with you all, too. Are you ok?'
'For now,' I said and mentally nodded with a tired sigh because I had no idea when I would actually be ok. 'My beast is not under his control, and she is able to take it off of me if it gets too... much for us and someone's life is on the line.'
'And what about you?' Anthony asked, and he mentally raised an eyebrow in question. 'What if it is your life that is on the line? You know that your father would kill us if something bad happens to you.'
I bit back a small snort and rolled my eyes, pressing my lips into a thin line. 'He would kill me too,' I said sarcastically. I cleared my throat and licked my lips, biting back a tired sigh while I grew serious. 'Have you told him what had happened?' I asked and mentally raised an eyebrow in question.
'Yes,' Anthony replied and mentally nodded before he cleared his throat again, growing more serious but also more hesitant because he knew how much I hated them telling him anything second handedly. 'You should be expecting a call from him soon,' he said.
Oh, Goddess please no.
I bit back a small growl and moved a hand through my hair across my face, rolling my eyes. I didn't say a word, not caring that my father knew what had happened and hoped that he wouldn't intervene, putting the life of him and my twin brothers on the line for the sake of my own.
'We'll make sure that he doesn't do anything stupid,' Corey soothed as if she knew what I was thinking. 'He won't do anything until you tell him that it is safe to do so. Also, we are in the living room waiting for you both.'
I breathed a small sigh of relief and mentally nodded. 'Good,' I said before I cleared my throat and licked my lips. "Salem might appear," I said randomly to my grandmother while we continued up the steps, and she glanced at me from the corner of her eye and raised an eyebrow in question. "The other members of my group are here and are in the living room waiting for us." 'Have you two been seen?'
'No,' they said in unison and mentally shook their heads. 'We have not been seen.'.
My grandmother nodded and bit back a small hum. "Do you think they would like some tea?" my grandmother asked. She paused at the top of the steps and opened the door before she stepped out with me clinging to her arms because I could still not stand and was not steady at all.
'Tell her that we said no,' Anthony said, earning a small snicker from Corey. 'We do not need any tea, but we are grateful that she has offered it to us.'
'Well, she is going to force us to have it anyway, so tell her please and that I said thank you,' Corey said. 'Also, ask her if she needs any help with you because I know how tall you are and how short she is.'
I rolled my eyes and pressed my lips into a thin line. 'Haha, very funny, Core,' I said sarcastically. 'She has helped me from the room and up the steps. I am sure that she is just fine and does not need your help.' "Do you need any help leading me to a chair in the living room, Grams?" I asked to appease my friend, and Corey snickered. "Corey wants to know."
My grandmother scoffed and rolled her eyes with a small scowl on her face. "No, I do not," she said coldly and grabbed my arm tighter, becoming more protective of me than what she had been in the past. "I am more than capable of doing this on my own, so go ahead and tell her no but thank her anyway."
"Did you hear that, Core?" I asked out loud, earning a small laugh from the female that we were talking about. "She doesn't need your help but is appreciative of it."
My grandmother made it to the living room and looked at the two King's Guards that were in her living room, who stood from their chairs as soon as we entered the living room with their hands behind their backs. She scowled and narrowed her eyes at them, and they hesitated and bowed their heads, not liking the idea that they had pissed her off.
"We would like the tea, though, Grams," Corey said with her voice barely above a whisper, trying but failing to appease the female before her. "Thank you."
"Mmmhmm," my grandmother said and gently sat me in one of the chairs, and I couldn't help but bite back a small groan of pain and annoyance. "I'll get you all your tea," she said and looked at me. "Go ahead and tell everyone that they can come. Do you know when Filip will be here?" she raised an eyebrow in question.
'Miguel?' I asked and shook my head because I had no idea when he would be here. "Again, Salem might be here, too, but I don't know when that will be," I said with a small grimace on my face. "They will probably want to try to mimic everything that I am doing so that they can act like me if needed."
'Yes?' Miguel asked with a small sigh of relief in his voice. 'Are you ok? Are you ready for us to appear, or do you need to wait and get some rest before we are meeting with everyone? Everyone else is safe and the pack is fine. Mindy isn't back yet, and the Alpha is still locked in his room.'
"And how is that going to work?" Anthony asked bitterly, raising an eyebrow in question. He folded his arms across his chest and scowled, narrowing his eyes while he studied me, and I looked at him and slowly blinked, pressing my lips into a thin line. "They aren't the one that is under their control. Only you are under their control, so I am sure that they will know the difference."
I bit back a small snort and rolled my eyes, setting my jaw and pressing my lips into a thinner line. "I can act as if I am not under their control, and I am sure that the Shara will not know when we cross paths with him where I am the Viper and they are Alexandra," I said coldly because I had no idea how true that was or not until we tested it out. 'I am ok. Yes, please tell everyone to come. It's time that we had this conversation before I go to bed and pass out.'
'Then we are on our way,' Miguel said and mentally bowed his head. 'We're coming from the back just to make sure that no one sees us.'
I breathed a small sigh of relief and mentally nodded. 'Good,' I said and cleared my throat, shifting in my seat. 'I will see you all when you all get here. Make sure to stay quiet when you do so because I don't want anyone to hear you while you do this.' "The group is coming from the back," I said to my grandmother and opened my eyes while I looked at her.
My grandmother nodded and pressed her lips into a thin line. "Then I will get the tea ready for everyone," she said. She patted my arm lovingly before she left to go to the kitchen without another word.
'I know, and we'll be careful,' Miguel said with a small chuckle in his voice. 'Do you think that your grandmother will be in the kitchen? If so, can you let h-'
'It has been done,' I said, interrupting him. 'She knows and will be in the kitchen to start the tea while the rest of us are sitting in the living room waiting for you all.'
'Rest of us?' Miguel asked and mentally raised an eyebrow in question. There was a small bit of protectiveness in his voice, and I knew that he was worried about my safety and wondered if these people were going to hurt me. 'What do you mean by the 'rest of us?' Who else is there?'
'Corey and Anthony,' I replied and pursed my lips in annoyance. I bit back an annoyed growl and shook my head, moving a hand through my hair and across my face. 'Now, hurry up and get over here. I need a shower and then get some more information before I get some rest. It's been a long day.'
Miguel bit back a small chuckle and mentally bowed. 'We'll be there soon, Alpha,' he said and cleared his throat. 'Then you will be able to take your shower and get some rest. The rest of us will continue to monitor the pack and make sure that no one else is there to hurt you or us. You have my word.'
Thank Goddess...
