I felt something warm and soft against me as I gained my senses. That warmth alarmed me. I wasn't supposed to feel warm on the cold stone floor.

I kept my eyes closed, trying to remember what happened yesterday. Then it came crashing down on me. I realised I was in a room.

I opened my eyes and glanced at the wall clock. It showed 4.15am.

That was a good time to wake up. Perfect to be exact. No ones up at this time. This was my alone time and always had been.

I got out of my bed walking into the bathroom. I glanced at my reflection which showed a pale girl. My hair were sticking out in all directions possible. My eyes red. Scars and dirt covered the pale skin of my face. My brown orbs sunken. I brought my hand up to touch the strand of my hair spread across my face, remembering how he moved that away. The soft look in his eyes flashed in front of me.

That was all just an act Ara. Just an act played by the King.

My mind reminded me.

I quickly brought my hand down blocking all my thoughts. I tied my hair high up in a bun and got into a warm shower which I needed at that moment. I let the warm water wash away all the dirt. The bruises in my knuckles burnt as soon as the hot water fell on them but I ignored the pain like I always did.

I cleaned the dried blood. I stood there for a long time and then finally got out of it.

I wrapped the towel around me walking into the closet Ken pointed out yesterday.

I was surprised would be an understatement. The closet was filled with dark shaded denims, leather pants and dark hoodies with some jackets, leather jackets and gym clothes. It's terrifying how he can read me like an open book.

He found out all my choices in a matter of two days.

I pressed my lips in a thin like as I took out Grey yoga pants and a blue t-shirt and a jacket. I quickly wore the clothes and went back to my room.

I found my phone and my bag resting on my bed which I am sure wasn't there when I went to take a shower.

I need to lock the door. This is not good.

But again, I was in his empire.

I tied my hair in high ponytail getting the hold of my phone and took out my earphones from the bag.

No I don't listen to the songs. This is the time I spend running and thinking. The headphones are just there to make sure no one talks to me. Cause I hate when someone disturbs my Me Time.

The routine I had followed since years. Running early in the morning and then hitting the gym.

I walked out of the room. I didn't know how to get out of there. The wing was huge. I was confused. So I finally decided to follow the path Ken showed me yesterday. The narrow staircase.

I walked to my right looking around at the still dark corridor. Everyone must be sleeping now. This was a great time to run away. But now, now! Where that would get me?

I couldn't live without fighting and he owned the world of illegal things. That would be my huge mistake if I ran away. He would find me anyway. And considering I would hurt his ego, He wouldn't leave me.

I saw the same man from yesterday standing there. He glared at me.

I glared back at him.

"You shouldn't be here!" He said.

"Yeah I know." I said trying to get past him.

But he stood there blocking my way.

I looked up at him. He crossed his hands across his chest with a false try of intimidate me.

"Rey has ordered not to allow anyone to pass these." He glanced at the walls.

"To hell with his orders." I said with an emotionless face.

"I need to go. Move." I said trying to keep cool.

"No." He said glaring at me.

"Not a word against Rey." He spat.

That hit the last nerve.

I punched him across his face followed by a round kick and heard him wince in pain.

He didn't fall on the ground but he was sure in daze by the impact of my kick.

Thank goodness my reflexes were fast. If I wasn't fast enough, he would have knocked me out. He was that strong.

But my actions were fast.

I smirked as I saw him struggling to gain his senses again.

"You can't go out." He said.

"Watch me!" I said skipping out of the door and descending the stairs quickly.

I heard the door open again as I closed the door which let me out in the garden.

I breathed in the fresh air.

But there was no time in relaxing. Cause I needed to start running.

That Rey's man was coming.

So I started running along the track that went around the wing through the garden.

"YOU SHOULDN'T BE OUT HERE!" The man shouted from behind me.

I knew he was running behind me.It was fun.I quickened my pace. But Christ he was fast.Soon his voice became more clear and I knew he was approaching me.

I turned my head to look back at him.

I quickly fished out a blade from my pocket holding it in a perfect position to attack. No, I am not gonna kill him. Just injure him a little so that he won't come into my way from next time.

"Drop the blade." I heard a voice which left me frozen at my place.

The man running behind me, stopped bowing down his head mumbling, "Rey."

I heard his footsteps coming closer.

"What is going on?" Damion asked from behind me. He sounded a little out of breath.

"She tried to get out of the wing."

"I got out of the wing." I corrected him.

"I tried to stop but she kicked me and ran out." He said.

I smirked. Yes! This is me!

"I will handle it from here. You can leave." Damion said in his deep voice.

The man again bowed down his head walking away.

As he left, I turned to face Damion.

Just like me, he was wearing running clothes. The black t-shirt with grey sweatpants. Sweat beads were visible on his face. His hair damp from the sweat. Breathings heavy from running. His t-shirt hugged his body perfectly.

"You again attacked my man." He said.

"He didn't let me out." I pointed out, " I wanted to run. I am not trying to run away you see? I just wanted to follow my daily routine and your man, not so politely refused. I had no other option." I shrugged.

He kept looking at me the whole time.

"You don't attack my men. You get that Argyl?" He asked looking dead into my eyes.

I wanted to nod. My brain commanded to agree after listening to his authoritative voice. But I controlled myself.

"Look, if you want me to fight, I need to run and work out." I said stopping myself from agreeing right away.

He took a step forward. I stayed rooted at my place.

I didn't move even a bit. Like always gazing into his eyes.

"Let's see what you have got, shall we?" He asked.

I looked at him in confusion. A small smirk appeared on his perfect face.

He walked nearer to me, his eyes watching my every movement. My picked up it's pace again as he closed the distance between us.

"You want to run, don't you?" He asked amusement bouncing in his eyes.

"I don't run away, Rey." I stated realising the meaning behind his words. He smirked.

"I never said you run away.." He said, "Now, I run every morning too. May be you can join me on my regular path instead of running on this garden track." He said his face going emotionless again, "And that way we can even see what you are capable of." He raised his eyebrows mockingly.

I scoffed.

"Though I don't need to prove what I am capable of after knocking your men at least 6 times, the game is on." I said.

His lips slowly twitched up in a small smirk eyes sparkling with unknown emotion.

"Let's go then." He said starting to walk towards the gate of his mansion.

I didn't immediately follow him. The outer area from what I could see was all woods.

"Afraid of woods are we?" He asked turning back to face me.

I looked straight into his eyes.

"You know I don't need to drag you to the woods to kill you." He said.

I knew he didn't need to. He could kill me right here. Even out of his empire. Cause there is no now who would try to get into his way.

"Let's go." I said walking behind him.

He opened the gate. The men standing out there bowed down thee head. I saw them looking at me weirdly. But in a moment, their eyes were on the ground heads ducked down refusing to look up.

I turned to look at Damion but he had already started running. I quickly ran behind him matching his pace.

He glanced at me with an emotionless face before blowing out a breath and looking forward.

The path went through the woods. It was unpaved, surrounded by trees. It looked peaceful. The dry leaves and stones under our feet making noises as we ran. Our footsteps falling in sync. Breathing had found it's rhythm to match his. We ran deeper into the woods. The atmosphere dark.

Seems like he loves dark quiet places too. I glanced sideways at him. His full concentration was on the path in front of us. Blowing out breaths after every four steps, he make it seem easy. The muscles of his arms flexing every time he moved them. His blue eyes not moving from the path. There was something about him. Something so interesting, so deep that it held me in cage.

His personality held me in cage. A cage I never wanted to escape from.

I was so engrossed in looking at him that I didn't notice a big stone lying in the path in front me.

But before I could trip on it and fall down his hand came around my waist effortlessly lifting me up. I was shocked. My heart beating fast as his arm snaked around my waist. And I knew it wasn't from the running. He put me again on the ground, crossing the stone.

"Thanks." I breathed out.

"May be next time, you should look at the path with the same concentration you were looking at me." He said. His voice seemed totally normal a little out of breath but not like mine.

I didn't answer him on this. A small smile crept on my face.

I don't know what was happening. But he was something. Something more than the Demon they know. Something more than their Rey.

My breaths started to feel heavy and I started gasping for breath. But I refused to give up. I continued running with him. I would never give up. I am born to win. My legs were begging me to stop but I forced them to keep working. To keep running. I was drenched in sweat. My body paining and kill me if I didn't enjoy it.

The pain I felt was the proof that I was alive. That I was capable of something.

I didn't notice, we had arrived back at the mansion until he opened the gate.

I stopped resting my hands on my knees breathing heavily. I closed my eyes smiling.

"I didn't expect you to complete the lap." Damion said.

I opened my eyes looking up at him. He was almost unaffected.

Certainly a little out of breath but not dying to fill his lungs with air.

"Thanks." I said looking at him.

He gave me a curt nod.

"No. Thanks for taking me with you for a run. It felt amazing to have something challenging me." I said.

A small smile appeared on his lips.

"It felt good to have someone willing to accept the challenges with me too." He said looking into my eyes.
