Iam going to die

I closed my eyes tightly and waited for the pain.

But before it could reach me,the other guy kicked it out of nakulan's hand.

"Give the hard disk to me and get out of here" he shouted.

And I sat up shakily, trying to breath.

"Give it to me" he shouted again as Nakulan returned with rage.

"Okay..Let me just take care of you first" Aditi heard the irritated murmur before the first guy turned to the beasty man and raised up his fist, ready for a fight.

Both of them were fighting as I slipped away.

I started to run and reached the compound wall and stilled as I heard the alarm going off.

Trishana.

I turned on the alarm and watched the fighting around me with wide eyes.

What the hell is happening here!?

Shahid said narayan's men will come and steal the files, So I had been watching the first guy and recorded him, Then came the second guy, confusing me and demanded for the hard disk and when I was thinking it is the end, A third guy- Whom I recognised as nakulan; One of mahesh narayan's dangerous goon appeared and started to fight with the first two.

I was hesitating to raise the automatic alarm that has somehow become disabled, But I feel like something bad will happen if I don't raise it.

It looks like Nakulan will kill the other two if I don't do anything.

The police will be here soon.

The alarm went off and then I heard it, The police siren coming closer.

I need to get out of here!

The gate was out of question and the only way was through the long wall, which was too tall for me.

I can't get out in this state..

I realised.

"Here you are!" I heard a sound and turned around to see the panting black dressed guy.

So he survived!?

"The police are here" I said

"Hand me the hard disk if you want to get out of here"He said.

I gripped it in my hand for a second.

"You will get caught too"

"I Am just a hired guy, I don't mind" The guy said "but it won't be easy for you" he added.

The siren was already near and I looked up at him.

"Okay" I nodded "help me up, first" I said.

"We have a deal then" he nodded.

He came near and put his hands around me.

"What are you doing!?" I exclaimed as he raised me up.

"Surely you are not thinking of anything irrelevant in this situation,right?" The guy asked me.

"You can just bend down, I can step on you and get on the wall"

"Iam injured" he pushed me up and I squirmed as I felt his hands on my hip.

"Pull yourself up" he said and I reached up and raised up with difficulty.

"Okay,help me up now" he looked up at me and I looked the other side.

"Don't try to double cross me, You will need me to get back down" he warned and I took out my phone from my jacket.

"I need help here, Police are here and I need to get down the wall"

"You.. you are so going to regret this!" the guy shouted from down.

"Hurry, Someone is here to get the hard disk from me, quick"I started to plead to aditya.

The guy was looking around for anything to help him up.

When there was nothing, he walked near and looked up at me.

"It is not because I couldn't get myself out of here, I can do it fine" he said.

"Oh really? Then why don't you get up here?" I placed my hands on my hips and asked him.

"I didn't want my injury to get worse, But I see..I have no other way" he took some steps back, ran to the wall and jumped up.

I was startled as I watched him hanging by his hand.

He's crazy!

He's going to pull himself up!

I started to panic and looked down the other side.

"Don't even think about it, You are going to break your leg if you jump" he groaned as he pulled himself up.

"I will protect this hard disk" I whispered before sitting down and looked down again.

"No-" the guy stopped as I jumped down the other side.

That girl!

I swear,I haven't seen anyone like her!

I too moved and jumped down.

We were in the deserted main road of the backyard of the file house now, the girl was already sprinting and I followed her.

She's so going to regret it..

I pulled out my gun and pulled the trigger.

"Stop there" I shouted "stop right there or I'm going to shoot you" I warned and she stopped in her track.

So I moved near, still raising the gun "hand me the hard disk" I ordered "give it to me,NOW!" I shouted and she flinched.

"Do it if you don't want to die" I touched the trigger and she trembled.

"Okay..Okay, I will give it to you" she pulled it out of the pocket and started to stretch it to me

I walked near, outstretching my hands.

And the bright beam of the light blinded me momentarily.

"Get in the car!" I heard a shout and she lunged forward and I followed her, Trying to stop her.

The car was only feets away, the Passenger seat door already opened for her.

I got hold of her jacket just before she entered the car.

I pulled her back and wrapped my hands around her from the back and dragged her away from the car.

"Keep it safe"she shouted while throwing the hard disk into the car.

I tried to stop her, but It was too late, the hard disk was already inside the car.

"Let go of her!" the guy in the car shouted at me.

"Give me the hard disk and take her" I demanded back.

"No!" the girl shouted, still struggling to get out of my hands "you can't give up on the hard disk" she shouted.

The police siren started to get near and I dragged her to my car.

"You bloody bastard, let go of her" The guy shouted again.

"I will give her back if you hand me the hard disk" I said before opening the car door.

"I can't give it back"

"Then you will never see her" I warned him sternly.

"Remember our rule... Remember everything that happened" She shouted from my hand "You can't give up on that files, You can't do it to them-" she was cut mid sentence when I closed her mouth with my palm.

"Decide now, this is your last chance" I said again.

The siren was dangerously close to us now.

Then she did something that shocked both of us.

She got into my car.

"If you give him that hard disk, I will never come back to you" she shouted "I will try to get it back even if my life is on the line" she said

"I will contact you" I ran to the driving seat as the lights were visible.

The guy in the car and I moved the car forward, in two different directions.

The guy with the hard disk and I....

I looked at the stubborn girl beside me.

Me with a stubborn struggling puppy who bite me pretty hardly

It took me a whole night to travel and reach a safe spot-A six hour's drive to be exact.

At last we reached our destination by daybreak, It was an abandoned house in the middle of the estate which belonged to my grandfather, And now to my dad.

As soon as I entered the house,I turned to my prisoner who hadn't talked to me a word the whole journey and I removed the blindfold over her eyes.

I tied her to a chair and dragged a chair to her side, turned it to the back and sat in front of her, facing her.

"So..you can start talking now" I pulled the tape out of her mouth and she started screaming.

"HELP...SOMEONE HELP...HE IS KIDNAPPING ME..."

I folded my hands across my chest and she stopped screaming.

"Let me go" she said angrily "Or I will make you regret it very badly" She threatened me.

I chuckled.

"You can scream your lungs out, No one is going to come here for you" I leaned to her. "This is a private house that is in the centre of an estate, No one comes here" I informed her.

"So, Are you going to kill me?" She didn't flinch as she asked that and I was taken aback for a moment.

"What's your name? You talk about killing so coolly, To whom do you work for?"

"Go to hell" She screamed again.

"You are not going to get out of here until I get the files, Do you understand?"

"You are never going to get those" she challenged back.

"Let's see if your boyfriend thinks the same way, Shouldn't we?" I took the phone that I had taken from her and switched it on.

Instantly, it started ringing.

"You bloody...give it back to me-" she started struggling, but she was cut off as I pressed the seal back on her lips.

"Aditya calling" karthik muttered before swiping it open.

"Aditi?..Aditi?..Are you there?" he heard the worried voice and smiled.

"So her name is aditi?" he looked at the still struggling aditi, who was trying to get out of the chair.

"Who the hell are you? Let me warn you well, If something happened to her-"

"Listen, Aditya, Nothing will happen to her, She's safe here with me" I took the seat in front of her again "that is,I will give you 24 hours, If you bring me those files you took from the file house, You will get her back, But if you don't, You will never see her agai-"

"DO NOT TOUCH HER, I WILL KILL YOU"Aditya shouted, losing all control now.

"Calm down and listen to me, Aditya, I don't care about anything as long as I get those files, I will give you until tomorrow morning, same time, if you can't get me those files-"

"Where is aditi? I want to talk to her"

"Sure" I pulled the tape and stretched the phone to her in speaker mode.

"Aditya-"

"Aditi!Are you alright?Are you hurt?where are you?-"

"You can't give it back to him, If we miss this chance, we will never get one like this-"

"But you are-"

"Don't worry about me, Remember our promise, All these time..we were living for that..you can't give up on that, I will never forgive you-"

I took the phone and placed it to my ear.

"24 hours, Aditya, not a second more, If you want her alive, Bring those files, Don't try to double cross me or change the files, I will know if it get switched, it is the original hard disk that you cannot copy or save, Don't ever try to fool me"

"Who are you!?"

"You are better off without knowing, once you decide, I will tell you the place to meet, Good bye then" I disconnected the call and turned to aditi.

"Let's wait then, Let's see what's important to your man, your life or the data's"

She looked furious now.

"Well...seems like aditya is shaken, hopefully he won't trade your life for informations" I daunted her.

She tried to slam her head to me, but I was faster to avoid it.

"There..easy puppy, I will let you go by-" I stopped as the next blow come, She had kicked my chair with all her might this time.

With the force, She lost the balance and the chair moved backwards and hit the wall behind her, collapsing it.

She's really crazy!

I ran to her as she fell down and hit the head.

"Are you crazy!?" I lifted her up and saw the blood trailing down from her forehead.

"Do you want me to tie your legs too?" I shouted as I started to untie her hands and pulled the tape out of her mouth.

"It's not deep" I said while I inspected the cut "I'm not planning to hurt you, But don't make me-whoa-" I avoided the punch narrowly and aditi brought up her other hand.

I get hold of it and turned her around, locking her underneath me.

"Let me go!" she started struggling but I tightened my grip on her, making her immobile.

"You.." I leaned down so close that aditi could feel my breath on her ears. "I am not interested to know you.." I whispered " I don't have time or patience to deal with you" I turned her back in a swift moment, She apparently was shocked to look into my face now, That was too close "Don't make me do that..Don't make me notice you" I stopped and aditi stopped struggling.

"Get off me" She whispered.

"Sure" I pulled her easily and pushed her to my chair this time.

She was frozen when I started to tie her again.

Aditi.

I controlled my anger and waited patiently as he tied me up again.

I had had martial arts training and it was the first time that I am beaten by another guy other than aditya.

It annoyed me and surprised me alike.

It was also the first time a guy is carrying me like a bag of potatoes, Without effort,easily.

And I instantly know that he's different then.

he's dangerous.

I need to be careful with my move.

"What's this?" He bend down to pick up a metal rod from the floor.

"A lock picker?" he turned to me "from where did it came from?" he walked near and I shrinked back.

No!He can't know it...it's my only way to freedom now.

If I don't get away from here by tomorrow, Aditya will hand over the datas..I know him, He wont put my life in danger..so I need to get away as soon as possible.

I watched as the guy was approaching me.

"I am removing your jacket now" he said as he bend down to me and I started to resist.

"Don't touch me!" I struggled "How dare you undress a girl!" I shouted.

He looked at me.

"Don't worry" He told me "I don't consider you as a girl" He said "And if I really wants to take your cloths off, I promise you that you will like it-"

"You pervert"

"You are my prisoner, remember that" he said and touched the zipper on my jacket.

He removed the zipper down and I tried to stop him again.

"Stay still or I will have to tear it open" he warned as he untied one hand to free my jacket and turned to the other.

Five minutes later, He spread the whole thing on the table in front of me.

"A lock picker, A knife, A pen..."he reached the last compartment and looked up at me.

"No way!" he pulled the small rifle out of my pocket.

I noticed the change in his eyes instantly, All the playfulness was gone and his eyes turned stern.

Karthik.

"A gun?" My voice changed as I look at her from head to foot.

The police blood in me boiled as I noticed the weapon.

I opened the back side and saw that there was no bullets inside.

Why did a girl like her carry a gun?

If there was bullets inside,would she have used it?

I turned to her.

"Who are you?Where did you get this gun? why did you come to the file house?" my voice turned serious as I looked at her coldly.

No answer.

"who are you?" I repeated again, this time slowly, more sternly, demanding an answer from her.

I took out my gun this time, loaded the gun and pointed at her "who are you?" I said "Tell me why you are carrying an unlicensed gun with you"

"Or what? Are you going to kill me?"

"Why do I feel like you don't give a damn about killing other people? You talk about that easily, Are you a member of terror organisation?" I asked again.

She scoffed at that.

"Tell me" I touched the barrel of the gun to the undersurface of her chin, our eyes locked as her head was tilted up slightly.

"You are trained in martial art, You came to the file house, You are carrying a gun, what does it mean?"I demanded again.

"What about you then?" She retorted "you were at the file house, you even fought narayan's man, you are well trained and you know how to use a gun, I could ask you the same, Mister, Who are you?"she looked at me straight back.

I stared at her.

Fought narayan's man!? She knew who he was?

"Narayan? Did you just say...Surya narayan?" I said and her eyes widened a little, unhappy about the slip.

"Are you fighting against narayan? Is that why you wanted to get the files" I asked

Silence...

"How do you know it's narayan's men?"

Silence...

"How did you get inside there? Is there more people in your gang?"

Silence..

I sighed, Now realising that I Am not going to get any answer from her.

I looked at her again.

Does she know that the files are going to end up in narayan's hand? Is that why she wanted to get those files before that?....Just like me?

"How do you know Ajith Roy?" I asked and all the indifference disappeared from her face.

"How do you know him?" she asked back.

"I asked first, I will answer you if you answer me first"

"You go first" she didn't inch back.

"I don't trust you"

"Nor do I" she replied.

I sighed again.

"Look,if you-" I stopped as he heard the sound of the car and stilled.

It's a private estate and nobody is supposed to be here!

Unless.....

"Damnt!" I jumped up and sealed her mouth with the plaster just as she was starting to make notice.

The old model bell sound rang.

"Karthik?"

"Amma!" I groaned and started to push Aditi's chair to the storeroom side.

My mom is a women welfare Association president and I can't even imagine what will happen if I get caught kidnapping a girl.

She will murder me!

Aditi seemed to have noted the panic in my face and started to struggle and make sound as good as she could.

I opened the store room door and pushed the chair inside before closing the door.

"Karthik?Are you here"

"Yes.. Amma" I walked to the main door.

She walked inside as I opened the door for her "I saw your car there, What are you doing here?" I thought you had some projects?"

"Yes..Mm..I'm working on it, I needed a quiet house and thought this will be a good choice" I told her.

"What a strange place to work! Do you want me to clean the place-"

"Leave it to me, Amma, I can do fine"

SLAM-

I stilled as I heard the voice from storeroom.

"Did you hear that?" Amma looked at me

"What?No no..I don't hear-"

SLAM-

"Oooh..That!" I exclaimed "I was just fixing the door there, it was slamming against the wall"

"Let me help you with-"

"No,Amma,i'm fine, Let's just talk outside, there's too much dust in here" I pulled her outside "but why did you come here all of a sudden?"

"I heard from the caretaker that you told him to take a vacation? I guessed you are here"

Uncle venu is the garden house and the estate caretaker.

"Mm..Yes,I was intending to work from here"

"You don't even cook well, why did you send him off?"

"Amma, this is a top secret project, I can't involve anyone else, don't come here anymore, my team members will be coming here soon"I said

"Okay..I got it, just take care of yourself"

"And come home for food, I will pack you some things" she said as I walked her towards her car and I nodded while opening the driver seat for her.

"Are you sure that you don't want help with fixing that door?" she asked again.

"Damn sure, I am good with fixing things" I pushed her gently to the driver seat.

"Drive safe"

"Bye karthik, Drop by home, Don't be like your dad"

She said before driving off and I waved until she turned the car.

I breathed a sigh of relief.

"God! That was a close call!"

Aditya.

"Are you sure he is not narayan's man?" uncle asked me again.

"He was fighting Nakulan,uncle, I'm sure he's not narayan's man" I said.

I am going crazy about everything

We had been planning the break in for months and even succeeded in getting the datas, but it ended up by Aditi getting kidnapped.

"So he wants you to give the hard disk in 24 hours?"

"Yes, or he will kill her uncle"

"Calm down, you said he is not narayan's man, So let's just take his word for it, Nothing will happen to her"

"Yea, we don't have another way but return it back by tomorrow, The bloody datas needs to be decoded first, it will take a lot of time to do it, may be that bastard know it, that's why he gave us time"

"It might need a genius to decode it" uncle agreed "But if he's not narayan's man, who's he then?"

"No idea, He is well trained and good at fighting, it took us two months watching and planning to break into that file house, we even drugged the people working there, But he just popped out of nowhere and appeared there alone, He seemed to deactivate the CCTV too"

"Let's just do like what he demanded, we can't put Aditi's life in danger anymore"

"I hope she won't do anything stupid to stop us returning the files, She don't want me to exchange it for her life"

"That girl is worrying me, You should keep a close eye on her"

"She doesn't care about anything else as long as we get our revenge, she's worrying me too" I admitted.

"Where did he told you to bring the file?"

"He will call again to tell me the place-"I stopped as the bell rang.

Uncle and I looked at each other, Both of us were not expecting anyone and we were already worried about Aditi.

I made sure that the gun is within reach before walking to the door.

"You!" I exclaimed as I saw who had rang the bell at midnight.

It was that irritating reporter who is selfish about her exclusive.

"Reporter trishana" I said "What do you want from me?"I asked her.
