I was so caught up in my own little panic session that I didn't even notice someone enter the room.

"What are you doing?"

I turned around swiftly and saw Hiro standing in the doorway. He immediately saw my panicked expression and became concerned.

"Y/n, whats wrong?" He asked as he walked over to sit next to me. I tried to speak but my words were caught in my throat as my brain couldn't come up with complete sentences. I know for a fact that Abby had her phone on her the night she died because she was texting me, so why was the phone in Tomo's car? Did Tomo have something to do with Abby's death? Did he kill her?

"Hiro lets go for a walk." I say quickly as I stand up and grab my bag.

"Wait, why?" Hiro asks, a look of pure confusion plastered on his face.

"Do we really need a reason to go out and enjoy nature?" I ask. Does my voice sound calm? I'm not sure cause on the inside I'm still freaking out. I don't know what to do but one thing that I know for sure is that I don't want to be here when Tomo gets home. One look at my face and he will know something is up.

I grab my cellphone and instruct Hiro to go put his shoes on. He looks at me strangely but does as he is told, leaving the room. When he is gone I grab Abby's phone from its hiding spot under the bed and shove it into my bag before joining Hiro downstairs. While going down the stairs I also text Max asking him to meet me at a nearby park. I tell him its an emergency and he quickly agrees saying he will be there in twenty minutes.

"Y/n, where are we going?" Hiro asks as I shove him outside and lock the door behind us.

"We are just going to the park." I mutter as I take his hand and start leading him down the sidewalk. He follows at a slow pace as his eyes never leave my face as he tries to distinguish the emotions held within my expression. We reach the park in less than ten minutes and I sit down on a park bench while Hiro runs to play on the playground. He seems preoccupied however as he is constantly looking back at me but I'm too caught up in my own emotions.

Timeskip:

"I don't want to believe he did anything wrong, Max." I mutter as the two of us sit on the bench together. Max arrived minutes after us and immediately noticed the panic in my face. He didn't push me to tell him anything but instead sat down calmly next to me and waited for me to speak.

"Who?" He asks.

"My brother, Tomo."

"What did he do?"

I say nothing and instead reach into my backpack and grab Abby's phone. WIthout making eye contact I hand the pink phone to Max who looks it over in his hand.

"Whats with the cellphone?" He asks.

"Its Abby's phone." His expression changes to that of shock.

"Y/n, why do you have Abby's phone?"

"Tomo had it. In his car. He said it belonged to a friend."

"So he lied to you? That cant be good."

"I don't want to believe that Tomo had anything to do with Abby's death but......"

"But the facts say otherwise." Max finished my thought. "Wasn't he home with you that night? I thought you siblings went everywhere together."

"He was out that night. He said he was with some friends."

"What friends?"

"I don't know."I mutter. There's a long pause. From the play structure, Hiro is watching us intently as children run around him to play. I know he can't hear us from this distance but his staring still makes me nervous. Max hands the phone back to me and sighs.

"So what are you going to do?" He asks. I can tell by the tone of his voice that it didn't matter what I choose; that he would support my decision regardless. The unconditional support kept me calm and stopped me from further panicking.

"I'm going to confront him." I stated confidently.

"Are you sure that's a good idea? What if he really did kill Abby?"

"I don't want my brother to go to jail and I don't want to publicly accuse him of something he didn't do. I know that if I present him with the phone he will answer me honestly. He wouldn't lie to my face."

Looking over I could see the concern and fear bubbling up in Max but despite his emotions he didn't try to stop me.

"He's your brother. You know him best." He said simply as we both stood up and made ready to leave. Just in time too because just then I got a concerned text from Tomo asking why we weren't at the house.

"If anything goes wrong then call me." Max said. "My house is nearby too so if there comes an emergency then feel free to go there."

I smiled weakly and thanked him before we both said our goodbyes and he left to go back to his house. I quickly texted Tomo that we would be home soon before running to grab Hiro and heading back towards the house.

Timeskip:

Hiro said nothing on the walk home and as soon as we reached the house he ran off into the back living room .

"Where were you?" I heard Tomo ask and I turned to see him standing in the kitchen door.

"At the park." I answered as I fiddled with the straps of my bag.

"Is something wrong?" Tomo asked as he walked over to me. I cursed him knowing me so well for he read my face like a book. He knew something was wrong so now there was no way around it.

"W-where were you that night?" I asked.

"What night?" He asked, confused.

"The night Abby died. Where were you?"

For a second Tomo looked taken back as his eyes grew wide with surprise. It took him a moment to regain his usaul calm.

"I was out with friends."

"What friends?"

"Work friends. Just some people you don't know."

"Why are you lying to me?" I asked. At this point I was no longer in control of my emotions or body as my whole being began to shake violently and tears streamed down my cheeks. Tomo looked shocked as he stared down at me petrified. He was torn between talking back and openng his arms to comfort me. He opened his mouth to defend himself but I silenced him by pulling out the cellphone and shoving it in his face. I turned it on and the thing lit up showing a heavily edited photo of Abby in a yellow sundress, her sunglasses pulled down just enough to see the color of her eyes as she smiled happily at the camera. Tomo stared at the image blankly before he put his hand on mine and took hold of the phone.

"Did you have something to do with Abby's death?" I asked sternly.

"How can you say that? I'm your brother!"

"Then as my brother answer me honestly!"

"I never saw her."

"THEN HOW DID HER PHONE GET IN YOUR CAR!? ANSWER ME HONESTLY TOMO!" I screamed at him. Tomo looked at me blankly for a few seconds before his eyes darkened and his mouth turned up into a small smile. For reasons unknown, the fake looking smile sent shivers down my spine and caused me to unconsciously take a step back.

"That's enough stories for one day, Y/n. It's late, you should go to bed." Tomo said calmly as he stepped forward and grabbed me by the arm. He then began to drag me up to my room as I screamed for him to let go.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT TOMO!? LET ME GO!" I screamed as he pulled me into my room.

"No need to be mad at me Y/n. I only did what I did for you. Everything I do is for you." Tomo pulled me into a bone crushing hug as I fell limp in his arms. He was scaring me. My own brother was really starting to scare me. I was so petrified that I didn't even realize he had released me until I looked up and his lips met mine. My brother was kissing me.
