"Gray, are you ready?" I called out, placing my things into my purse.

"Does this look okay?" He asked, gesturing down to his outfit.

He wore a grey sweater, nude colored jean shorts and grey canvas shoes; his hair gelled in a comb over.

"Looks perfect." I beamed, "How about me? Do I look like a responsible sister?" I said, spinning in a slow circle.

I wore a white turtleneck sweater, dark blue jeans and thigh high black boots, my hair pulled into a tight bun and minimal makeup.

"Definitely, let's get going the weather is terrible." He said, gabbing the umbrella that sat next to our door.

"You're right!" I agreed as we walked out, locking the door behind us.

The drive there wasn't too bad, the weather seemed to settle down a little, hopefully it will stop raining by the time the interview is all done.

Pulling into the visitor's parking lot, we jumped out of the car and hurried into the entrance doors of the office building. The school was huge and modern from what we could see, it was prestige and everything was grand, I couldn't imagine how much it would cost to go here without a scholarship.

"Hey, how can I help you?" A lady with bright red lipstick asked, her voice gentle.

"Hi, we have a interview scheduled for 11:00am." I replied politely.

"Oh yes, Grayson right?" She clasped her well-manicured hands together.

"Yes, that's me." He nodded.

"Right this way." She gestured for us to follow her.

She led us through towards a set of double doors, knocking before opening the door and popping her head through. "Grayson Vice is here." She called out.

"Come in." A deep voice called out.

She stood to the side and opened the door wider so we could enter. She soon stepped out and closed the door behind her.

"I'm very pleased to meet you young sir." A tall man stood from his desk, straightening his suit.

He came around from his desk and extended his hand out to my brother.

"Likewise." My brother shook his hand firmly.

"Your mum is very beautiful, it's a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Vice." He turned to me, extending his hand.

"I'm actually his sister, our guardian couldn't make it today sir." I said softly, shaking his hand firmly.

"Oh sorry, call me Donavan." He smiled sheepishly.

The interview soon started, Donavan wanted to know all the basic information about Grayson and what his thoughts were about the school, then we talked about the school and what was expected from Grayson as a student of Colton Academy. It continued for a long hour before he decided it was time to wrap things up.

"Because our guardian isn't here to sign the papers is it possible if I could take them and get them sign and I can send them back?" I asked, hopeful for my plan to work.

"Sounds perfect, I'll have Ms. Hunts give you the information you need to send the papers back." He smiled, standing from his chair and shaking our hands again.

"It was a pleasure meeting you two, I can't wait to have you apart of our school Mr. Vice." He nodded at Grayson.

"The pleasure was all mine, thank you again." Grayson said, his smile big.

"I'll see you in a weeks time." He said before we left his office, shutting the door behind us.

"I still can't believe it." Grayson said excitingly.

"Me too." I gushed.

"Hey, once you send these papers back we will finalize everything and we'll email you about the uniform and other things you'd need to know about the school before you start." The lady with bright red lipstick said, whose name I now know is Ms. Hunts.

"Here is the information you can send the papers to, it was a pleasure, see you soon." She said, placing a file into my hand and heading back to her desk.

"Do you think she'd sign them?" Grayson asked nervously.

"I don't know, but we'll find out." I said.

I drove 5 hours, all the way back to our old town to have our Grandmother sign these papers, praying she won't ask questions or be difficult about things. I just wanted to go there and get straight out.

Once we arrived Grayson was sleeping so I slipped out of the car quietly not wanting to wake him. Walking up the too familiar house, the house looked nice and normal from the outside but the inside was a different story. Knocking softly, I wait a minute before knocking again.

"Who is it?" Her voice called out from behind the door.

"Ava." I called back before the door swung open.

"What do you want?" She asked, her face settled into her permanent scowl.

"Can you please sign these papers? It's just for school." I said softly.

"I already signed papers for your school, what is it now?" She asked, demanding.

"Just for Grayson, he has to go to a different school." I said, trying to keep things simple and not make a big deal out of it.

"Why does he need to change schools? Is he going to a special school? I always knew that boy was dumb." She said, laughing evilly.

"Yeah he has a learning disability." I lied, trying to agree with her so she'd sign the papers.

"Stupid boy." She laughed.

It took all of me not to show an ounce of anger towards her, how dare she talk like that about her grandson. My blood was boiling at this point but I remained calm and soft.

"Give me the papers, he needs all the help he can get." She said.

"Just on the bottom." I held the paper against the door and handed the pen over.

"Where are your papers? You need this special school too." She laughed as if it was the funniest thing she's ever said.

"I'll probably be back so you can sign mine too." I agreed with her.

"Yeah probably." She laughed, signing the paper with her name and signature.

"Thank you." I whispered as she threw the paper and pen at my face.

My heart broke at the action.

What did we ever do for her to turn on us like this?

I picked up the papers, turned and never looked back. I slipped into the car and drove us home. Grayson slept all the way home and I was grateful, I didn't want to snap at him since I was in such a foul mood after seeing our grandmother.

Pftt, she isn't our grandmother. I thought.

"Hey, we're home." I said softly, shaking Grayson's shoulder.

"Did we already go see her? What did she say? Did she sign them?" Questions flew out of his mouth.

"She signed them." I nodded, showing him the papers.

"Wowww, Ava, thank you." He jumped, pulling me over to his side of the car and hugging the life out of me.

"Of course Gray." I laughed, hugging him back.

"I'll send the papers back first thing tomorrow, let's get inside before it starts raining again." I said, jumping out of the car and headed into the house.

"What did she say?" He asked, holding the door open for me.

"Her usual." I sighed, "Don't worry, at least we got what we wanted.".

"Let's order dinner, I have to leave soon for a fight at 10." I sighed, flopping down onto a seat in the kitchen.

"Okay." He nodded.

I ordered pizza and we hung out in the lounge and watched movies before I left. Adrenaline rushed through me, I was antsy to fight, and I wanted to blow off the steam I had directed at my sorry excuse of a grandmother. I texted Kota to just meet me at the warehouse, I wasn't in the mood to chat first so I headed there straight away not wasting anytime.

"What's the matter?" Kota asked as I got out of my car.

"Nothing, I just need to blow some steam." I replied, throwing the strap of my gym bag over my shoulder and strolling towards the warehouse doors.

Kota never said anything; he got the hint I wasn't in the mood.

"You're on as soon as you're ready." Kota patted my back.

People I didn't recognize nodded at me but I never acknowledged them, I wasn't in the mood to be nice. I headed for the changing rooms straight away and strapped up.

Walking back out into the crowded warehouse, my opponent stood in the ring, everyone's eyes glued to me. Silas waved at me as he stood waiting, I was shocked I was fighting him but was over the moon at the same time, someone who actually had skill and not many flaws in his fighting.

"Hey." Silas said as I jumped the ropes to get into the ring.

"Hi." I smiled.

"I'm not saying this because I think you aren't good enough but if I do hurt you in anyway, please don't take it personal." He said, a frown on his face.

"I was about to say the same." I replied.

"Agree to be 100%?" He asked and I nodded.

"SILAS vs VEE everybody." The MC yelled over the shouts.

Silas started running towards me. I've watched him do this before; he starts charging forward and throws a fast punch at his opponent.

Never stay in routine. I thought.

Jumping onto my left leg, I swung my right around just in time as Silas gets close enough and I send a round house kick to the side of his head, just as fast I swing back around and land a heavy punch to his jaw. A crack sounded throughout the warehouse as my fist made contact, he hit the floor with a loud thud seconds later.

He was out cold.

I bent down and touched his cheek, hoping I didn't do too much damage.

Guilt settled in.

I should have gone easy.

"VEE wins." The MC yelled, stepping into the ring.

The warehouse roared with cheer, people yelling things at me.

I stood in search of Zade, his eyes were already on me and I waved him over. Picking up Silas, I slung his arm over my shoulder and walked him to the edge of the ring.

"We need to get him home before he starts bruising." I said, stepping down the steps.

"Is it broken?" Zade asked, his eyes on me instead of his best friend.

"No, maybe dislocated." I said, nervously.

"That was amazing." Maceo breathed, his smile big.

"Kota lets go." I said, pointing at my bag.

Blaine and the rest carried Silas out of the warehouse as Zade's hands rested on my hips as we walked out, I was slightly uncomfortable since we had strangers staring at us so closely though Zade stared them down with a hard look.

"You were great." He whispered into my ear.

"Zade I just knocked out your best friend and may have dislocated his jaw." I deadpanned, as a car came rushing towards us.

"You're a beautiful woman." He smiled, kissing my head.

"Zade!" I huffed, pushing him away.

"Let's get him home." Maceo said as he slipped into the SUV.

I watched as Blaine and the twins lifted Silas in.

"Can I come over? I want to make sure he's okay." I asked Zade.

"Of course, did you come in your own car?"

"Yeah, I'll follow behind you guys." I said, taking off and jumping into my car.

"Here is your money." Kota said handing me a bag full of wads of cash.

I took four wads and slipped it into my car, "Take how much you'd like and save the rest." I kissed his cheek and waited for him to get into his own car safely before I took off following behind Zade and the rest.

We arrived at their huge house 40 minutes later, pulling into the drive way I quickly got out and grabbed my gym bag, rushing up the steps behind them as they walked up with a now conscious Silas.

I rushed up the grand stairs that sat in the entrance of the house, assuming they were taking Silas into his room.

"Hey Ava, what are you doing here?" Nadia asked as I ran passed her.

"I'll explain later." I yelled, following everyone down the familiar long hallway.

Everyone soon entered a similar room to the one I had woken up in during Nadia's birthday; only the walls were white with gold trims. Zade and Blaine laid Silas down onto the huge bed, Silas groaned in pain in response.

"What are you doing here, you've already done enough!!" Kenna seethed, staring daggers at me.

"Shut up Kenna!" Nadia stepped in.

"Nadia, don't." I shook my head; I didn't want to make things bad between them.

"I can handle her." I said whispered to Nadia, I didn't care for anything Kenna had to say at this point.

"Girls, now is not the time." Maceo stared sternly at Kenna, his words aimed at her.

"Silas?" I called out softly, inching closer to the side of his bed.

"You punch hard." He groaned, rubbing his jaw.

"Sorry." I breathed, guilt was eating me alive.

"Don't be." He tried to smile but soon groaned in pain.

"Do you trust me?" I asked, examining his jaw from where I stood.

"Why? What are you going to do to him?" Kenna demanded from behind me.

"Ava do you know what you are doing?" Maceo asked, standing next to me.

"Yeah, I know everything about broken bones, dislocated bones, my father taught me." I talked as I placed my hands on Silas's jaw.

"This is going to hurt for a split second." I warned Silas, placing my fingers in the right places so I could click his jaw back into place.

"On the count to three." He mumbled and groan at the same time.

"One." I said, pushing my fingers as a familiar crack sounded.

"I said the count to three." Silas said with out groaning, his brows frowned.

"I guess it worked, I was hoping it wouldn't so he wouldn't talk as much." Jasper laughed as other snickered along with him.

"Ha ha, funny." Silas said, rubbing his jaw.

"I second Jasper." Zade said, laughing lightly.

"Feeling the love." Silas mumbled.

"That's impressive." Maceo commented.

"Will I bruise?" Silas asked.

"Oh yes, that reminds me." I ran over to my bag and picked out a little tube of ointment.

"This will help stop the bruising, apply this every 5 hours." I said, putting some into Silas's hand and instructed him how to rub it in.

"Can you rub it in for me? I bet it'll feel better if you did it." Silas said winking.

An inhuman growl broke out into the room, and everyone's attention landed on Zade, his face in a snarl.

"I'm kidding." Silas rolled his eyes.

I quirked an eyebrow at Zade and so did Maceo.

"I'm sorry again, I didn't mean to hurt you so bad." I said with sincerity.

"It's okay, I'm grateful you came here to check up on me, thanks." Silas smiled.

"Of course, well I got to get home." I said slipping my bag on my shoulder and heading for the door.

Nadia stepped in front of me, hands folded over her chest.

"Do you fight too?" She asked, her eyes sparkling with questions.

"Yes, give me a little time and I promise to tell you everything." I said with pleading eyes.

Everyone in the room remained quiet.

"Okay." She nodded reluctantly.

"Thank you." I sighed, pulling her into a hug.

"I have to get home to my brother, I'll see you at school?" I smiled.

"Of course, I'll text you in the morning." She returned my smile.

"Maceo? I'd like to talk to you in a weeks time if that's okay?" I turned to stare at him.

"Of course, like I said, you're welcome anytime." He smiled, pulling Nadia into his side.

"Thank you, goodnight." I rushed down the hallway and the stairs.

"Ava, wait." Zade called out, running after me.

"I'll see you at school?" I blushed, hoping I would.

"Yes." He gazed down at me, his hand running along the apples of my hot cheeks.

"Okay." I nodded.

"I'll be waiting at your locker." He said, his hands falling down to rest at my waist.

"Okay." I breathed in his scent.

"Can I have your phone number?" He asked, pulling me closer to his body.

"Okay."

"Are you going to tell me or are you going to keep saying okay?" He chuckled, slipping his finger under my chin and guiding it up to stare into his eyes.

"0433 453 432." I blushed as he typed into his sleek phone.

"I just texted you, text me when you get home." He swiped my bottom lip with his thumb.

"Okay." I breathed in his scent one last time before walking over to my car.

"Drive safe." He said sternly before I flicked him off and drove back home.

As soon as I got home, I seen Grayson passed out on the mattress in the lounge with a movie playing. I quickly showered and checked my phone for the text Zade sent.

I had your number a while ago, the perks of you being friends with my sister.

-Zade __ Why haven't you texted me before if you already had it?

-Ava __ I wanted your permission first.

-Zade __ Goodnight Zade.

-Ava __ Goodnight Okay.

-Zade

I giggled at his text before slipping into bed with Grayson and falling into a peaceful sleep.
