Thank you for 800K reads on The Girl who Fought to Provide, I can't believe it!! Thank youuuu, xo. _____

Carter refused to go stay at Vices home so we're staying at a hotel Carter owns here in Mexico. I've learnt that he owns a lot of businesses all over the world.

"Do you buy businesses to have a legal cover up?" I asked as I watched Beau run around with the friends she has made here.

"No." He gestured to the nods he received from the strangers around us. "I tattoo my surname on the people I kill, the Feds know exactly who I am and where to find me."

"I never lie about who I am and what I do because I don't fear anyone." He continued to explain. "People only lie because they're afraid. I'll never lie to you Ava, but I will shield you from the truth as long as I can. It seems to be getting close to impossible lately, it's like you've already figured me out."

Carters words always felt like lessons, like he wanted me to sit back and watch how he does things.

"There's this saying, that one day things will catch up to you." I joked, raising a questioning brow.

"I'm hoping it catches up soon, I'm starting to get bored." He winked, waving at Kai to let him know we were leaving.

"Be careful what you wish for, they might just do that." I shook my head at his confidence.

"You'll come save me, won't you?" His question was playful but I couldn't help but see the seriousness in the way he asked.

"You don't need to ask, irmão mais Velho (older brother)." I caught Beau in my arms before she ran straight into me.

The rest of our day was spent site seeing, Vice was out on business so we hadn't gone and stopped by his house yet and planned to meet him later tonight at the fight club he runs here. I was a little anxious leaving Beau with Zion, not because I didn't trust Zion, I just haven't been separated from her for a long time.

"If she wakes up with a fever or she won't go back to sleep-" I rushed around the room, setting things up for Zion, he smiled waving his hand.

"I've watched you do it a hundred times Ms. Vice, she's a pretty heavy sleeper so I doubt she'll wake up." He nodded down to her sleeping peacefully in mine and hers bed.

"I'm not even her mother and look at me." I sighed, falling onto the couch.

Is there such thing as a momzilla? I thought sarcastically.

"She's lucky to have you, you might not be her real mother but you are." Zion smiled, pulling me up off of the couch. "Preston will stay back with me for protection, you're only gone for a couple of hours. She'll be okay."

"Thank you, both of you." I pulled the both of them into a hug.

"Take care of Ms. Vice will you Fefe." Preston teased Felik.

A loud whack sound soon followed after and I turned around to see Preston rubbing at his arm.

"Only Beau gets away with calling me that." Felik grumbled.

"Okay Mr. Grumpy." Preston rolled his eyes.

I chuckled at their antics and continued to look in my bags for a pair of heels. I quickly learnt that everyone in this business dressed pristine and to a T, I was happy with what I was already wearing and traded my shoes for some black stilettos with red bottoms.

I slipped them on and made my way over to Beau, I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and left the room to find Carter.

"Kai you're with Serial." Carter gestured for me to get in his car.

"W-what? No." He shook his head. "He could kill me."

"I could kill you if you don't-"

"I'll ride with Serial, Kai can go with you." I walked over to the car Serial stood next to.

"Fucking hurry up Kai before I strangle you." Carter got into the car.

"Why aren't you scared of me?" Serial finally spoke, his voice was like silver, I didn't expect it to be so smooth.

"Why should I be?" I asked, watching as Carter sped and swerved between cars in front of us.

"I kill people that's why you should be." He said carelessly.

"And so does my brother, yet I still live with him."

"Good point." He nodded towards me and sped up, matching Carter.

We left a main highway and drove onto a dirt road, once we hit a certain point Serial switched the car lights off and so did Carter and our guards following behind.

"Why aren't you scared?" Serial asked again, as he navigated through the dark.

"Again, why should I be?"

"Because we're driving in the dark on a dirt road."

"I trust my brother." I stared out into the darkness, you couldn't really see anything besides the smoke clouds trailing behind Carter.

We drove like this until we hit a tree line and they all switched their lights back on. A clearing came into view, expensive cars scattered around the large clearing with a lone building in the center. It was completely blacked out, no stream of lights were seen from the building. Just pitch black.

We parked and I made my way over to Carter. "Can we enter separately?" I whispered to him.

"Why?" He whispered back mockingly.

"I just want to feel out the fight club without the big shot Rei next to me, I'll make my way over to you after." I pleaded.

"Everyone in there knows your bodyguards. They'll know you're associated with me anyways and I'm not letting you enter without them so get rid of that thought little sister."

"What about Serial? No one knows him, and he's more then skilled to take care of me on his own." I pleaded again.

"Fine, I'll let Vice know what you're upto but you've got 20 minutes tops, stay where I can see you." He flicked my forehead and motioned for Serial to come over.

"We're going to enter around the back way, you two come in through here." Carter pointed to front entrance.

"People are going to recognize you, you look too much like him." Serial said once we were alone.

"They won't know for sure unless I confirm it myself, people shouldn't always assume."

"Well people do, with or without realizing." He took my phone from my hand and shoved it into his suit jacket. "Let's go, they should be in by now."

Serial held the big steel door open and gestured for me to enter, security stood at the doors but did not search us for weapons.

"Why weren't we searched?" I whispered as we passed.

"You'd be stupid to pull a weapon on anyone in here, you'll be dead before you even hit the ground." He gestured for me to enter another set of doors. "Everyone in here are of some importance, every single person has a connection to Vice."

"So everyone here are friends?" I asked stepping into the room.

The first thing I noticed about the huge room was the smoke drifting around, almost everyone in the room held a lit cigar. The second was the cleanliness of it, the floor was carpeted and was nothing like the fight clubs I've fought in.

"Not exactly friends, think of them as alliances." Serial stared down the men who walked too close to us for his liking.

Some stared, others didn't even notice us since their focus was on Carter and Vice sitting up in an exclusive area near the ring. Carter and Vice looked like they were speaking in a hush tone but I made sure not to stare too long.

There were a handful of women hanging off of older men's arms, they were dressed expensively and had their noses turned up to everyone.

"Miss, would you like champagne?" A guy dressed in a black and white suit held a tray of flutes towards me.

"No, thank you." I smiled.

He stared at me longer then he needed to but kept moving once he saw the look Serial was giving him.

"No one acknowledges the waiters in here, that's why he stared." Serial answered my unvoiced question.

"Lets watch, a fight is about to start." I stepped back against the wall and watched as everyone else took their seats.

A MC went around with two baskets, people all around the room pulled thick wads of cash from their pockets and placed their bets. The MC finally made his way over to me and Serial, Serial threw money in and waved the MC to go away.

"Aren't going to make a bet?" He asked, staring at the waiting opponents in the ring.

"I don't have any money and I don't know who's fighting."

"Carter doesn't give you money?" He questioned in shock.

"No he does, but I tell him to go shove it up his ass." I studied the people in the ring.

I wasn't ungrateful, I was the exact opposite. Carter gives me and Beau more then we need, he spoilt us without even realizing. So I didn't need money, he gave us everything we needed. The only way that let me win the playful argument me and Carter had over money was by telling him to shove it.

Serial chuckled, capturing the attention of the people around us.

The fight finally started, their moves were fast paced, no mucking around or talking to each other. The fight ended, leaving the loser with a knife in his abdomen and a broken arm.

"Why are you so talkative to me? Kai said you were mute." We made my way over to where Kai stood arguing with the MC.

"I only talk to those I trust." He continued to stare down the men around us.

"And you trust me?"

"You're not the only one who trusts your brother." He said just before we arrived next to Kai.

"Kai, you're up." Someone yelled.

"No. I'm not fighting." Kai shook his head.

"Why are you even fighting?" I questioned, keeping my distance from him.

"I betted for the other guy to win and opened my mouth about the fight being rigged, now they're making me fight the winner." He cringed at his words.

"You either fight or someone fights in your place, make your mind up now!" The MC pointed at Kai.

"Ava Vice." I held my hand out to the MC. "I'll be fighting in his place."
