Katherine's POV
"You want me to do what?" I asked not sure if I heard him right.
Dallas sighed. "You have to order them to leave. You are the future Luna Prime they will listen to you."
I shook my head. "No. Why do you keep suggesting crazy ideas?"
"Look Katherine you have to try. Its not like they can harm you or they will have to answer to Demos himself." Dallas encouraged me.
I sighed looking toward the guards and back at Dallas. Why am I even listening to this guy? "Fine. Just wait here." Dallas nodded as he watched me stand to my feet slowly making my way over toward the guards. My palms began to sweat as my heart raced in my chest as I thought on what I was going to say.
As I came into their line of view both guards looked at me surprised before bowing before me. "Luna Prime, I was not expecting you here." One of the guards answered with their heads still down. "If you wish to see Alpha Prime Demos you will have to wait he is not here at the moment."
I swallowed the lump in my throat before I spoke. "I-I know t-that's why I am here." Both guards raised their heads toward me giving me a confused look.
"Your majesty?" I motioned for them to rise in which they did.
"M-My mate Demos is aware of my arrival. H-H wished to ... speak w-with me once he returns." 'Come on Katherine pull it together.'
Both guards glanced at each then looked towards me. "I don't reme-"
"T-trust me he did. He wants me to sit and wait on him."
They glanced at each other unsure before one of them spoke. "I'm sorry Luna Prime, but we cannot let you i-"
"A-Are you refusing you future Luna Prime" I asked suddenly.
The guard looked at me wide eyed. "N-No, I-"
"So you are refusing Alpha Prime Demos' orders?"
"N-No, I-"
"Shall I tell Demos when he returns that you disobeyed his orders?" I threaten. Both guards shook their head 'no' immediately. "Good now let me in so I can actually obey my mates commands." One the guards immediately pulled out his keys fiddling with it and unlocked the door. They guard bowed as he opened the door wide for me. "Your Grace."
"Thank you. N-Now relieve yourself of duty." I commanded. They looked me uncertain before bowing to me again and walking away.
I put my hand to my chest and let out a breath of relief as I watched them leave. When they were out of sight I looked toward the hiding spot Dallas was in and motioned him over. He looked around before he ran over to me.
"Wow I can't believed that worked." Dallas said as he came up to me.
I just gave Dallas a look of curiosity. Why does he want to help me? I barely knew him. Dallas is a strange character I can tell you that. "Neither can I." I said letting Dallas in then looked around the halls and to make sure no one was coming thankfully no one was. "We only have so much time." I said as I made my toward Demos desk. "Dallas look through his filling cabinet or whatever. I'm looking through his desk." We both immediately went to work searching.
After a few moments I hears Dallas let out a sigh. "There's nothing. I wished he had a computer or something so we can find what we are looking for."
"Yeah, I know." I said feeling around the desk until my fingers stopped on something round and small. "What the...?" I said as I bent down and looked down to see what appeared to be a button.
"What?" Dallas said as he approached me.
"There's a button under his desk." I answered.
"Press it." Dallas said.
I just looked Dallas. "What? No. What if it alerts the guards?"
"What if it doesn't?" He insisted. I sighed then slowly pressed my finger on the button waiting for the unknown.
"Welcome back Alpha Prime Demos." A computer lady said as a bright holographic scream popped out in front of us causing us both to jump startled. "How may I assist you?"
Dallas and I exchanged glances before speaking. "Uhm...yes I will like to know...auction information on the Wilson Family."
"One moment please." In the matter of seconds the computer responded. "There are over 200 Wilson listed. Is there anyone specific you are searching for?"
"Uhm...James Wilson, Ruth Wilson, and Jeremiah Wilson."
The computer processed for a moment. "Records indicate merchandise lost."
"Lost?" Dallas asked.
"Computer what do you mean lost?" I asked panicked.
"The humans have been lost." The computer answers.
I felt tears burn in my eyes as I began to cry. My family is missing? Dead? This can't be happening, my hope is gone. First my sister now them. As I cry I felt a hand rest on my shoulder. I look up to see Dallas giving me a look of sympathy. "Don't give up. Their out there somewhere. The computer didn't say they were dead. They are alive you have to believe in that."
I sniffled and gave him a small smile. "You're right. Thanks." Dallas returned the smile.
"Why is this door unguarded!?" Both Dallas and I jumped at the owner of that familiar voice. Demos. My heart raced as I stood up from my seat. "Where are those sorry excuse of guards!?"
"Quick we have to hide." Dallas whispered grabbing my shoulders.
Both of us scattered around the room trying to find a good hiding spot. The only choices we had was the exotic planet from the planet Luprus or under the office desk. My heart continued to pound in my chest as the poor options we have. "There's nowhere to go." Dallas whispered.
I looked at him and looked around the room until my eyes landed on the window. I immediately ran towards it. I pulled back the curtains and unlatching the window pushing the window wide open I looked down to see that it was safe to escape out of. The office was thankfully on the ground floor.
"Once you find them bring them to me. I deal with them." Demos said unassumingly to the other guards.
"What are you doing?" Dallas asked.
I turned and looked back at Dallas. "Come on." I motioned with my hand to follow me. I climbed through the window and waited for Dallas to follow in pursuit. Once outside Dallas pushed both windows closed again, but were unable to lock it. I looked to see the door knob turning and the door opening.
