The city lights were bright from the tall buildings and the fast cars driving up and down the road. Everyone there looked distracted or too busy to mind what's going on around them. To some of the people in the group it looked to be easy to slip through the busy streets and alleyways without being noticed, but most knew better. Some will notice them and might pay close attention to a group of humans walking through majority werewolf and minority human territory. They had to find a way to blend in and get to the human unit of the city where they can escape the city through the human territory. Yet, they faced another issue at the moment.

"I refuse to risk my life for her!" A woman nearly shouted as she pointed her bony finger toward Katherine. Katherine's heart raced a bit as the group was now focused on her.

"Ally, is right." Another woman said. "She is the Alpha Prime's mate. John, if we go down there to the city and they recognize her they will hand all of us over to the king. We will be killed."

"Yeah, we should leave her here." Another person said.

"Hey why don't you just back off of her?!" Dallas said as he moved to stand in front of Katherine. Katherine felt her cheeks burn in embarrassment as these people talked about her as if she wasn't standing there.

"Enough. No one is leaving anyone." John said. The group quieted, but still muttered doubt amongst them.

"Look enough." Katherine said, stepping in front of Dallas. Everyone stopped and this time was completely quiet. "Look, I know you're scared and I know you fear my presence here. Or the consequences of my presence." Katherine said looking around the group. "I want to get out of here just as much as you do, but standing around talking about the "what if" could as well get us caught. We are wasting precious time standing here. We need to go now." Katherine said. She was tired and ready to get out of this town. The longer they stayed there the more of a chance they could get captured again.

"She's right." John said stepping forward. "We need to get the human units. Now."

.............

Katherine pulled the jacket closer to her body trying to keep herself warm from the night cool air. The jacket she wore now gave off a smoky smell. She wondered if the man who gave it to her smoked.

Before the group could enter the city Katherine was given a jacket and scarf in hopes to cover her scent. A hat was pulled down far on her head in hopes to keep her face hidden. Yet, she doubts anyone would be paying attention to her. She looked around the street and watched people minding their own business. Everyone in their own little world. This is good though. Everything is going good so far.

Right now Katherine is walking down the sidewalk of a busy street along with Dallas and Bethany. The group decided it would be best if they all split up. It would have looked suspicious if a big group of humans were walking together. Whenever someone walked passed them Katherine's heart speeded up a bit and her palms began to sweat. At this particular moment, the three of them passed a lycan who was rather tall which his height did intimidate them a bit. As they began to cross paths the man lifted his head and looked towards them for a moment. Katherine glanced at him and she could tell that he was curious, but it only lasted for a moment as he continued to walk away.

A sudden sigh came from Katherine's left. She looked to see it was Bethany with a now relaxed look on her face with a hand placed on her chest. "How much longer to the human units?" Bethany asked. "Are we lost because I feel like we have been walking a while?"

"Bethany we only have been walking for five minutes." Katherine replied. "Just keep calm."

"She's right, Bethany." Dallas chimed in.

"I can't, I'm a nervous wreck. How much longer to the human's unit anyway?"

Dallas looked over from her and answered. "Well according to that sign it should be less than half a mile from here." Katherine looked up and saw the half mile sign Dallas was talking about.

Katherine let out a huff in frustration. "Just perfect."

Dallas smiled and let out a small chuckle. "It could be worse. It could be a mile." Katherine and Bethany both turned at Dallas and gave him a look. "What? I'm just trying to lighten the mood." He mumbled and kept on walking. Katherine and Bethany exchanged glances and continued to walk after Dallas.

All three of them continued down the sidewalk and then turned the corner. As they turned the corner all three of them froze. A few feet from them was a small crowd of lycans standing in front of the glass window of a store.

"Come on." Dallas said, grabbing Katherine's hand and pulling her along which surprised her. His other hand on Bethany's back pushing her forward. All of them continued to walk at a calm pace as they tried to ease through the crowd of lycans.

"...as you can see now behind me the flames of the west wing of the palace are now being under control."

Katherine froze in her tracks the action of the other two with her. All three of them turned to the television and saw the small section of the palace west wing's fire being put out. Katherine's heart raced in her chest as she knew Demos was now furious and on the lookout for her and anyone else that has escaped.

"...as told by some palace officials this was all part of an attempt to escape from the palace and officials are on high alert."

Katherine began to tug Dallas and Bethany through the crowd calmly so as to not draw attention to them. "Guys we need to move fast." Bethany and Dallas began to nod in agreement as then turned into alleyway running for their chance of escape.

.............

Blood dripped down from Demos hands at the force and tightness of his fist. His blood boiled with rage at the chaos that had just unfolded moments ago. His eyes now glowed a demonic red as he stared down at the trembling, beaten and bloodied servants kneeled before him. Each of them guilty of rebellion and the helping of others escaping. They are the reason his mate is now missing. His heart began to beat faster as he could no longer feel her presences near him.

The sudden sound of shuffling footsteps and screaming can be heard behind him. He turned to see a battered young woman brought before him by two of his guards. Just by looking at her his rage only grew. Demos' hands grew long sharp claws that were ready to cut into flesh. His wolf itching to come out and rip her apart.

"No, my lord!" A shout came behind him. Demos glanced behind him to see his lieutenant begging for his mate's life. Rebecca's life. "Have mercy!"

"SILENCE!" Demos shouted, growing even more agitated by that moment. Demos turned fully to face him. "Your mate has committed treason against her Alpha Prime and her pack." Demos growled. Then turned back to face Rebecca. Her head held low as she silently weep. "I should kill her now."

The lieutenant's eyes widened in horror at his words. He tried to run over to protect his mate, but was held back by three guards. "MY LORD DON'T HURT MY MATE!" The lieutenant shouted, trying to free himself from the guards grasp. "I NEED HER! OUR PUP NEEDS HER!"

Demos looked over at him for a moment then back at Rebecca. "Someone has to pay, lieutenant." Demos answered in a low tone.

"Then let me take her place." He begged.

Demos looked over at him and shrugged. "Fine by me." Suddenly Demos teeth grew sharp as knives. In a split moment his mouth was over the lieutenant's neck as his teeth pierced his flesh. Irony and salty taste of blood filled his mouth as he ripped his lieutenant's throat out.

The human servants and Rebecca screamed in horror as it only took Demos seconds to kill his lieutenant. Some even pissed their pants in terror. A few of the guards also trembled in fear.

Demos turned back to them with a sinister expression on his face as his blood dripped from his mouth. Everyone watched in horror as he swallowed the flesh from the lieutenant's neck.

"Now that only satisfied my wolf for a split second." Demos said. His voice and the way his face was contorted you would think you were staring at a demon from hell. In a split second, all of the servants' throats were split so deep that their heads were almost decapitated.

Rebecca gasped in horror as Demos now stood inches in front of her face. "The only reason you are alive is because I may need you in the near future." All Rebecca could do was stare at him wide eyed as she was in shock.

Demos then stood from his squatting position and moved toward one of his trembling guards. "Put the city on lockdown. No one leaves."

"Y-Yes my lord."

"My mate you will not escape me!"
