"Have a seat." The general said gesturing to the foldable chairs in front of him. Inside the tent, sat General Ross. He was seated in a foldable chair with a gun in hand which he appeared to be cleaning. Katherine and John stepped inside the general's tent and took a seat. She looked around to see that it was just like the tent John and herself were in earlier, but smaller.

Earlier they had just finished eating dinner with Bri and began making their way over to the general's tent since he wanted to talk to them and as did them. Bri went her separate way.

"I'm pretty sure that you are aware by now that we are not just some refugee camp." General Ross said as he continued to clean his gun.

"Yes, Bri- I mean Brittany told me that you were the resistance and the fact that you wanted our help" Katherine replied.

The general looked up at her and back at his gun. "Yes, that is correct."

"I don't see how we can help we're just two people," John stated.

Katherine nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah, I don't even have any military experience like you."

General Ross stopped cleaning his gun and sat it down. His eyes then trained on Katherine. "Yes, you can help. You're more useful than you think."

Katherine and John exchanged confused glances than looked back toward the general in curiosity. "How?" John asked with a raised brow.

"Let me just give you the gist of what I had in mind." The general stood to his feet and walked around the small table he was sitting behind and stood directly in front of it. "When I first saw both of you, mainly Katherine, an idea came to me." The general began to explain. "We could use you, Katherine, lure out the-"

"Wait a minute!" John blurted out. "You want to use her as bait!"

The general released an annoyed sigh then continued. "We could use Katherine as bait to lure out the Alpha Prime where we could end him once and for all. Now if we take down the Alpha Prime we could use him to command his people to submit. Hopefully, find a way to send them back to their planet."

"But, you're still putting her life on the line!" John said a bit upset.

The general sighed again. "Yes, we all have to make sacrifices like many of our soldiers had made sacrifices for this country or some people have made sacrifices getting people here." The general said gesturing to the camp itself than giving John a hard knowing look. Katherine looked down at her hands folded in the lap in sorrow and shame of the friends she left behind at the hands of those lycans.

"Of course, it is your decision, Katherine." The general said. Katherine looked up to see the general and John staring at her in anticipation. "We will do everything in our power to keep you safe as soon as we capture the Alpha Prime."

Katherine looked away from him for a moment then ran a hand through her hair. "Let me think about it."

The general gave her a small grin as if he knew her answer will be yes. While John just gave her an "are you serious" look. "Of course just give me your answer tomorrow after breakfast."

Katherine nodded her head and made her way out of the tent with John following close behind.

"Katherine, you can't seriously be considering this?" John asked once they were a good distance from General Ross' tent.

"I don't know yet, but I-"

"Katherine, you realize if you do this you will be in Demos' possession again. Do you seriously want that?" John asked stepping in front of her causing her to stop walking.

Katherine let out a sigh as she crossed her arms over her chest. "I know, but shouldn't I take this chance? So many people have suffered or suffering now because of these beasts."

John shook his head. "I can't watch someone else life get ruin all over again not after what happened to them." He said, looking down. Katherine knew he was thinking about the group of people who were left behind at the mercy of the lycans.

"John, I kind of feel like it's my responsibility or it's up to me to save these people in any way I can. If I can help save someone I think I should do it." Katherine said, firmly.

John looked at her for a moment then nodded his head. "Okay," John said. "I'm going back to the tent."

Katherine nodded her head. "I'm going to see if there is anywhere I can take a bath or something. I'm starting to smell." She said, raising her arms and smelling her armpits. When John and Katherine were unconscious Dr. Sullivan had their faces and arms washed with a wet cloth since they were covered in mud.

John just let out a chuckle. "Yeah, I should do the same, but I'm going to look around a bit first." Katherine nodded her head in response before they both went their separate ways.

.........

A million thoughts went through Katherine's mind as she began to undress.

Moments later she found her friend, Bri, and asked her where she could wash up. She was then led to the back of the underground facility where there was a private small area for bathing. Only enough room for at three people to wash at a time. Inside the area, their were two curtains sectioning off the spaces for privacy. Also, there were old rusted shower heads with a few sponges that looked a bit dirty themselves. Well, it was better than nothing she was blessed after all to be in an underground military facility.

Katherine began to remove the heavy combat boots from her feet then proceeded to take off her pants. 'What should I do?' Katherine wondered. 'Should I use myself as bait for the resistance?'

Katherine now stood completely naked as she reached to turn on the water. The showerhead made a strange noise until dark brown water began gushing. Katherine jumped back trying not to get any on her. Soon the water turned its normal color which then she proceeded to move under to wash.

The shower felt amazing against her skin as she rubbed the bar of soap over her body. It felt like it has been since forever since she showered which it probably has. Although the shower was nice she still felt this constant annoying pressure of responsibility weighing on her shoulders. 'Their mission rides on me.' Katherine thought. 'If she did this she may be able to save her sister, Dallas, Bethany, and countl-'

"WAAAAAHHHHHHH!"

Her thoughts were soon interrupted by a very loud warning siren ringing through the area. Katherine's heart dropped to her stomach as the room's lights suddenly went out and now the room grew red. The sudden sound of footsteps running around and people yelling outside room didn't make her feel any better.

With haste, Katherine quickly grabbed her clothes and began getting dressed not bothering to dry off thoroughly.

"KATHERINE!" Bri shouted her name. In a split second, Bri yanked back the shower curtains with her eyes widen in fear and shock. She hand a gun and a knife attached to her hip.

"W-What's happening?!" Katherine asked as she pulled her shirt over her head.

"W-Where beginning attacked!" Bri exclaimed.

"What?" Katherine said, shocked. 'They found us.' She thought.

"Someone said they spotted the Alpha Prime along with the prince! We need to move now!" Bri said, grabbing her shoulders.

Bri had a tight grip on Katherine's arm as she ushered her out of the shower area barefooted. Katherine soon came upon a chaotic sight of men, women, and children run around in a frantic panic. Bri pulled Katherine along as she shoved through the crowd of people.

"Where are you taking me?! We need to find John!" Katherine shouted.

Bri pushed a lady aside continued moving fast until she spoke. "I'm taking you to the emergency bunker."

"Emergency bunker?"

"It's a small facility under this where we keep the children, elderly, and anyone else who cannot fight," Bri explained. "The general told me to keep you there for now."

"No, I can't not without, John," Katherine said, pulling her arm from Bri and began moving the opposite direction. Katherine ran through the crowd toward the area where John and her tent was until she felt an arm grab her.

"Kat! What are you doing? We need to go! Now!" Bri shouted.

"No! Not without, John. We are in this together and refuse to lose someone else!" Katherine shouted as she began to move away, but was then grabbed again.

"Katherine! Stop! He could be with the others in the bunker!" Bri said, trying to reason with her looking around frantically as people zipped past them.

"How do you know he's in the bunker?!" Katherine shouted.

"How do you know he's in the tent?!" Bri shouted back. Katherine looked her for a moment realizing her foolishness.

Katherine nodded. "Okay, le-"

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Loud gunshots ranged through the air causing Katherine and Bri to instantly stop their movements.

"THERE HERE!" Someone shouted.

"THERE INSIDE!"

"QUICKLY ARM YOURSELVES!"

"SAVE THE CHILDREN!"

Katherine's heart dropped in her chest at the words and the sounds she was hearing. Panic began to grow in her as she was unsure what to do as her thoughts were everywhere.

"Katherine, we must-"

"AAARRGGGHHH!" A man yells.

"SOMEONE HELP M- AAARRRGG!" A woman screams.

A sudden flash of the blurred figure in the corner of Katherine's eye grabs her attention. Then another blurred figure follows at a fast pace.

"Come on! We need to hide!" Katherine shouted.

"It's too late! We are too far from the bunker!" Bri shouted back as she now held the gun in her hand looking around every angle.

She was right they will have to fight through the crowd to get there. Not to mention the fact that it might put the people already in there in danger if a lycan sees them open it.

"Come on!" Katherine said pulling her toward the tent.

"We can't hide there!" Bri shouted.

"What other choice do we have!" Katherine yelled back.

Both women quickly ran toward the tent, bumping and pushing people aside as they ran. Katherine's heart raced in her chest as she breathed rapidly.

The two soon saw the medical tent in view up ahead and quickly coming in their reach.

Suddenly, both Bri and Katherine halted in their tracks as they saw a tall black lycan smelling around the tent. Bri and Katherine continued to stare frozen in place as it continued smelt around the tent.

"Katherine, we shoul-"

The lycans ears suddenly perked up as it lifted its head smelling the air until its eyes landed on Katherine.

The lycans next movement made her feel as if she was going to faint as it began running toward her at full speed.

"KATHERINE!"
