Her breathing was fast and unsteady of the fear of what's to come.

Today Katherine's sister dies.

In a few hours, Katherine will be forced to watch her sister's and her friend's head be removed from their shoulders. This thought alone made Katherine want to vomit.

Katherine sat in her new room in the palace in deep thought and worry as she had yet to think of anything that could save her sister and friends' lives. She has been under high surveillance forever since she is woken from her short comma making it even hard to form a plan.

KNOCK! KNOCK!

Katherine jumped at the sudden sound of knocking at the door. "Yes," She answered.

Katherine looked up to see a guard crack open the door and poked his head in. "Your majesty, the servants are here with your breakfast."

"Send them in." She sighed, running a hand over her face.

The double doors to the room opened wider by the guards allowing the three servants in. Two of them were carrying a set of clothing while the other was pushing a tray that sat a cover dish on top. All three of them had a large smile on their faces as if it was the best thing they could ever do, serve the Luna Prime her breakfast.

'They are definitely lycans.' Katherine thought.

"Good morning, Luna Prime." They said in unison bowing.

Katherine just looked at them not even caring to smile or acknowledge them. She no longer wanted to pretend to have respect for the lycan kind. She just didn't give a d*mn.

The three women glanced at each other unsure how to respond. So, they just turned to her with an awkward small smile.

"My queen, the Alpha Prime has requested that we get you ready for today's event." One maid said with a smile.

"Oh, yes, it's supposed to be a sight to see." Another maid said. "If I may be so bold I'm a bit excited for it. It's been a while since we have seen a good execution." She smirked.

"If you asked me I think they have it coming. How dare the-"

"NOBODY ASKED YOU! DIDN'T THEY?!"

The three maids looked at Katherine as she stood from her bed with a look of rage on her face. "T-Those people you are talking about are my family!"

The three women glanced at each other with the smiles no longer on their faces. Just pale faces of fear. Fear of what the new Alpha Prime would do if the Luna Prime told him that she was offended by them.

"W-We're sorry my queen." One said. All of them with their heads down.

"Y-Yes, forgive me for overstepping my boundaries." The other woman apologized.

Katherine scoffed. "Just. Get. Out." She growled lowly as she pointed toward the door.

The three maids bowed. "As you wish my queen."

One maid headed toward the door as the other two placed a set of clothing on the bed. "The Alpha Prime wanted you to wear this." One mumbled as she gently placed the clothing on the bed.

Katherine just rolled her eyes and sat on the bed. She watched as the three maids showed themselves out of the room. Once gone Katherine place her head in her hands letting out a deep breath as she felt the sting of tears in her eyes. "God help me." She whispered, feeling the slither of a tear on her cheek.

Katherine sat there for what felt like forever until her stomach growl. Wiping her tears, she stood from the bed and made her way over toward the food cart.

Once at the cart, Katherine proceeded to lift the lid of her breakfast plate until something caught her eye.

A knife.

A knife for the use of cutting her bread and to smear jelly on it. She gently picked up the knife and held it in front of her. Her eyes widen a bit as a thought came to her mind.

"...Maybe."

.......

CLINK! CLINK!

Loud sound of banging melts a woken Dallas from his unrestful slumber.

He looked up to see a guard standing in front of his cell holding a tray of food and a cup of water.

"Breakfast." Is all the guard said as he harshly slides the tray under the cell bars. As the tray slide, some of the food spilled on the floor. "Oops. I apologized." The guard said with a smirk on his face. Dallas just glared at him.

"Oh and here's your water..." The guard said, holding up a small shot glass cup of water in front of him. "Not that you'll need it anyway." Dallas stood to his feet and made his way over to the guard just when the sudden sound of glass breaking ranged through the cell.

The guard laughed as he purposely dropped his only water supply. "As I said... you wouldn't need it anyway." He let out a small laugh before he walked off toward the next cell.

"HEY! WHAT ABOUT HER?!" He yelled hands tightened around the cell bars.

"Don't worry about me." A weak voice said behind him.

Dallas turned and looked at a young woman with a dirty and ripped ends blanket wrapped around her shoulders. She had a brown smooth skin complexion with dark brown eyes that screamed "hopelessness".

"...We're going to die soon anyway. So, it doesn't matter." She continued looking down at her lap.

Dallas shocked his head. "...You're right." He replied defeated kicking the tray of food away. He took a seat and ran a hand through his hair. "Never in a million years would I have thought my life would end like this." The woman looked up at him as he continued to talk. It was the first time in the past several hours that they or he actually talked to her. And why would he? They're going to die soon. So, what did it matter?

"You know I should be in college right now getting my bachelor's degree in biology." He continued. "Then I would have maybe found a nice girl after. Hopefully, will get married and have kids...Not anymore." He laughed dryly.

The woman looked at him for a moment before she spoke. "I never thought I would have a kid so young." She spoke up. Dallas looked over at her now in curiosity as she continued. "I-I was raped the moment my mate took me from my family." She said as tears ran down her face. "My life was stolen by a monster. You know it wasn't until almost six years later I see my sister again. Here in the palace." She gestured to the walls around them.

"Your sister?"

She nodded. "Yes, I was brought by my mate her since he was the lieutenant of Alpha Prime Demos. At the ceremony that's when I saw her, my sister. Standing on stage, drinking the Alpha Prime's blood like some vampire."

Dallas' eyes widen a bit. "Katherine is your sister." He said in realization.

"Yes? Do you know her? Personally? I mean." She asked noticing his facial expression.

"Yes. She has mentioned you many times. Rebecca, right?" Rebecca nodded her head. "All she could think about was getting to her family and how much she missed you." Tears formed in Rebecca's eyes as a small smile formed on her face at the thought of her sister.

"I'm Dallas by the way." He introduced himself.

Rebecca nodded her head. "I heard one of the guards talking about you before you came here... how you ran off with my sister. Well, as they put it "kidnapped her"."

Dallas rolled his eyes. "No, we were escaping to freedom." He replied. "We were so close-"

"And yet so far."

Rebecca jumped startled. Dallas turned quickly to see a smirking Xerous standing in front of the cell.

"You?" Dallas slowly stood to his feet.

Xerous smirk widens. "Don't mind me I just wanted to check on my prisoners. I have to admit I'm a bit excited to heads roll today. Literally." He chuckled. "Especially, you." The smirk quickly fell from Xerous face as he glared at Dallas.

Dallas looked at him confused. "Why me-"

"Don't give me that innocent act." Xerous scoffed. "I know you are after my mate."

Rebecca glanced over at Dallas in a bit of surprise. Dallas said nothing as he gave Xerous a heated look. His face turning a bit red.

"I can tell when a male is after another man's woman," Xerous said walking closer toward the cell. "And you know what I do with men who try to still my mate...I get rid of them." He whispered.

Dallas just glared at him. While Rebecca trembled in the back of the cell. "But, why get rid of Katherine's sister? I know this is something she would not want." Dallas spat.

"Katherine has no say in this as do you."

"W-What about by son, Arrow?" Rebecca trembled.

"Oh don't worry. He'll die alongside you." Xerous smirked.

"HE'S JUST A KID!" Dallas yelled.

"ANYONE WHO GETS BETWEEN ME AND MY MATE DIES. MAN, OR CHILD!" Xerous spat. Saliva dripping from his mouth as he snarls at them, gripping the bars. His eyes glowed bright demonic red. "THE ONLY THING KATHERINE SHOULD LOVE AND FOCUS ON IS ME!"

Dallas and Rebecca looked at him startled. He looked as if he was on the verge of shifting.

The sudden sound of footsteps approaching reached their ears, but Dallas and Rebecca dare not tear their eyes from Xerous.

"Y-Your majesty? Are you alright?" One guard asked.

Xerous closed his eyes for a moment as if calming himself. "I'm alright." He answered, glancing at the guard. "Get them ready." Xerous look over at Dallas with a smirk then proceeded to walk away.

"Yes, my lord."

Rebecca soon began to cry her shoulders shaking. Dallas walked over to her wrapping his arms around her, giving her as much comfort as he could.

........

"Do you see it, John?" General Ross said lying next to John and his brother Luke on the high grass ground. They all were laying flat on their bellies on the top of a hill that gave a great view of the city.

John held the binoculars in his hand as he saw a building a good distance almost on the outskirts of the Captial city. "Yeah, but we are going to have to be careful going through the town," John said removing the binoculars from his face. "We'll have to be cautious. Security may be on high alert with the executions going on today with the large crowds of people moving around the city."

"It's disturbing how these people treat human execution as if it was some holiday." Luke, General Ross' brother mumbled.

"The sooner we take over that building broadcasting system. The sooner we can alert the other team." Ross spoke up.

"Let's move then," John said.

All three of them kept low until they were sure they can stand.

When it seemed safe to stand they stood and quickly ran back into the nearby woods. Waiting for them was a large group of men and women standing around with guns in hands awaiting orders.

"How far is the A-team to the palace?" Lieutenant Luke asked, walking up to one man.

"There two blocks away from the street that leads toward the palace." The man informed him, tucking his walkie-talkie to the side of his pants.

"Alright. We need to move now." Luke replied. "You, Josh, and John's group may be their form of distraction. My team will prepare the prisoner, Demos for the camera. Make sure he is conscious when we go live.

The man nodded and motion for the men and women to get ready to move out.

The plan was simple, but however, it would be a challenge to carry out. The plan was to get inside the news broadcasting room to broadcat their alpha and his weakness as he is held hostage by the so called "weak humans". This way a negotiation can be made and for the lycans to see that the human are tired of their iron grip on them.

While the majority of the men and women of the rebellion group headed toward the palace the rest stayed behind. The ones that remained will be staying with Lieutenant Luke helping and guarding him as the cameras will show their alpha prime being held hostage. Meanwhile, John and General Ross will take a small group of people with them to inflitrate the building.

Each would separately enter the city in opposite areas to try to not draw attention toward them.

Everyone in John's group stealthily moved through the city. Some wore hoods over their heads while others wore a mask or just kept their heads down.

John was right. The city was packed. Humans and lycans alike moved through the city to the stadium-like area where the execution would take place. It appears Xerous wanted the whole city to witness the death of some humans. He didn't need to anyway lycans enjoyed bloody stuff like this.

The few people in John's group blended into the crowd. They made sure to stay separate yet in close proximity to each other.

So far everything is going smoothly as they walked down the street with their weapons and face hidden. Occasionally, John did have a few people look his way but paid no mind to him.

A sigh of relief escaped him as the building they had been seeking came into view. John looked over to his side to one of his people watching him. John nodded to him as did the man. Then they turned from each other and sent signals to the others. All of them knew what to do as they approach the building doors.

One by one they enter the building. Some even waited a moment before entering so it wouldn't look suspicious.

John entered with the man that signaled him in the street, Reed. Once in the building, the receptionist stopped typing on her computer and looked up at them with a raised brow. Probably confused as to why two humans were inside a lycan the only facility. The two security guards in the room as well looked at them confused as they began approaching them.

John slowly reached for his gun as he kept his eyes on the men.

"DROP IT!"

John, Reed, and the two security guards stopped their movement and looked over toward the direction of the receptionist's desk.

Their stood General Ross holding a gun to the lycan woman's head along with two other people holding a gun to her. John smirked as he now saw the room full of his people. Six of them dragging unconscious guards toward the janitor's closet.

"PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR!" Ross commanded.

The two guards' eyes widened with a look of fear and confusion in them.

"Take care of them," Ross commanded as motioned for the man next to him to proceed. The man moved his way over to them raising his gun. The men's eyes widen more as their mouths hung open in shock.

"WAIT, NO-"

Silent bangs were heard as both guards were shot in the head. Thankfully, there was a silencer on the gun that keeping the noise level down.

"Thanks," John said stepping over the bodies. "You came through the back?" He asked as he approached Ross.

Ross nodded. "We had a bit of trouble, but we took care of it." He said, gesturing to the unconscious or dead bodies a few of his men were dragging.

"We need to move." John nodded as they all drew their weapons and stealthifully made their way to the stairs.

........

Katherine stood in front of the long body mirror starring at the expensive dress she was wearing. "You can do this, Katherine. This plan will work." She whispered to herself holding the knife in her hand.

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

Katherine jumped a bit as she scrambled to grab the nearby handkerchief to wrap the sharp blade of the knife. "Just one minute!" She yelled to the person outside the door. Katherine moved the slit of her dress sticking it in her underwear.

As soon as she did it the door opened to reveal Xerous with the usual smirk on his face. His smirked soon fell as his eyes rest on her with the look of awe and lust.

"You look beautiful." He said, approaching her. He wrapped his arms around her staring down at her.

Katherine turned her head it felt weird with him just staring at her so intensely. She wanted more than for him to release his filthy hands from her.

The sudden feeling of fingers under chin made her head turn back toward Xerous. "Today is a very important day of celebration, my love."

"You mean the day we celebrate the death of my sister and my friends." Katherine gritted out. Anger boiled in Katherine at this thought. She actually dressed in expensive clothing just to watch her sister die.

Xerous chuckled and moved away from her and sat on the bed. "No, my heart, this is the celebration of me being the new king."

Katherine looked at for a moment in thought until a sudden smirk came upon her face. "I wonder how your people will feel if they found out you killed their precious king. The rightful ruler to the throne."

Xerous smirk instantly fell from his face. His eyes began to glow as he snarled at her. "You wouldn't."

Katherine smirked as she stepped closer to him. "Try me." She whispered. At this point, Katherine did not care. Nothing matter to her anymore. She was going to lose her only family anyway. So, what's the point?

Xerous growled and in one quick motion, he had her pinned against the wall. His hands wrapped around her throat in an almost tight grip. Red eyes glared into her wide fearful and shocked eyes.

He looked at for a moment in thought and then released her.

Katherine quickly moved away from him rubbing her neck.

"I'll let her go."

Katherine scrunched up her face in confusion. "What?"

Xerous looked over at her. He sighed before he spoke again. "I will release her as long as you keep your mouth shut."

Katherine couldn't believe it. Her heart nearly jumped for joy. "Than- Wait, what about my friends? Do they get set free?" She asked walking over toward him.

"No."

Katherine hung her head despare not sure what to do. Sure, she was glad that her sister was being spared, but what about her friends? Katherine wanted no one to die.

"Look Katherine like it or not someone has to die." Xerous simply put it.

Katherine shook her head in disbelief. "NO! NO ONE HAS TO DIE! YOU'RE JUST A SICK AND TWOST BASTARD THAT HAS A BLOOD LUST!" She yelled in fustration.

Xerous growled. "You know I'm getting sick of your mouth." He growled walking toward her slowly. Katherine began to back away as he approached her. "I made up my mind...Everyone dies and its all thanks to you."

KNOCK! KNOCK!

"YES!" Xerous yelled keeping his eyes on Katherine.

"IT'S TIME MY LORD!" The person on the other side yelled.

Xerous smirked. "Let's go." He said, dragging an almost paralyzed Katherine behind him.

............................................................................................................................

Hi, guys! I hope you enjoyed the chapter. We are nearly at the end. I'm going to hopefully write the last chapter soon and then an Epilogue. I will try to post the new chapter next soon.

Also, I know you saw that I started two new books a few weeks ago: "Alika: The Most Beautiful" and "We Accidently Kidnapped A Prince". I have not updated them because I am busy trying to finish this book and I had a bit of writer's block. And honestly, I was thinking of changing the plot of "Alika: The Most Beautiful". Maybe a story about a mythical creature obsession or something like that. IDK. So, yeah I was just sharing my thoughts.

Oh and FYI: Tomorrow (9/19) is my Birthday! I'll be 21!
