Jadwa
Sultan motioned me with his eyes to blow the candles and i did immediately full of surprise,
"Happy birthday" he told me and I whispered a thank you
I looked at him and noticed he was still holding the cake looking at me
"Was I supposed to hold the cake?" I asked myself but before i come up with a solution he said "follow me"
And like a chick following behind her mother I followed him down immediately,
He asked for a knife so I entered the kitchen and came out with one,
He sliced a small piece and dropped it on the small plate he asked me to get, i quietly ate the cake praising how amazing it was in my mind,
I took the remaining and dropped it in the fridge together with the cake Mus'ain got me which was also big,
Even when i went back he wasn't there so I quietly went back to sleep,
London became boring since after Mus'ain left so I started getting anxious to go back to Zaria,
I was at home alone throughout Monday and Tuesday, Sultan was finishing everything today and we're leaving that same night so i was packing my things when he called me to arrange his box for him too,
I was so happy at the airport but i hid it behind a straight face,
Luckily I wasn't as cold as i was the time we came thanks to the hoodie Mus'ain got me,
"Jadwa mutanen London" Haidar joked immediately he saw me,
He was among the convoy that came to pick Sultan from the airport with 3 other cars,
It was midnight when we arrived so we stayed at his house here in Abuja,
Since my last incident with Haidar I haven't seen him till today so the memory came back and i felt somehow uncomfortable around him,
We arrived and this time I didn't sleep in the maids quarters i was given a room downstairs,
I taught we were leaving the next day but i it cane and Sultan didn't say anything,
"Good morning Ammah" I greeted when i saw her coming down the stairs
"Mutanen Zaria barka da Safiya" she said with a warm smile
"Yar halak i was just about to come to you" she added
"Yarima said he wanted scrambled eggs with fried potatoes for breakfast" she told me and i nodded
"But he needs his tea now"
So I rushed to make the tea for him in the kitchen greeting the maids i met there working
"Ina kwana" I greeted him dropping the tea on the table next to the chair he was seated
"An tashi lafiya?" He asked not looking up to look at me which didn't bother me because of the statement "mai hali baya fasa halin shi"
"Lafiya kalau" I replied then i left him there reading a book
I made his breakfast and dropped it on the dining table before going up to call him,
I served him then I turned to leave
"Where do you think you're going?" He asked looking at me
"Kitchen your highness" I replied holding the tray tightly
"Sit" he ordered motioning me to one of the chairs there
I gently sat down with the tray on my hand
"Have you eaten?" He asked chewing his fries gently
I shake my head left and right indicating no
"I haven't, its in the kitchen" I replied
Talking with words always is not my thing I prefer gestures but he hate gestures I don't know why, so I am forced to use words when I don't want to
"Go get it" he ordered so i got up immediately and rushed to carry the little food I served myself from the kitchen then i went back and sat there,
I ate very slowly and i got full before i even finished half of the food on my plate, he finished minutes later but he sat there doing somethings on his phone and at the same time looking at me so i had to finish everything on the plate,
I slowly got up and packed the dishes to the kitchen,
Haidar came that afternoon and he forced me to have a conversation with him, I don't know why i got used to Mus'ain so easily but find it hard to be free with Haidar,
I heard the sound of the doorbell so I rushed to open it
"Salamu alaikum" a very fair middle aged woman holding a very cute baby greeted smiling
"Wa'alaikumus'salam" i smiled back looking at the baby
I gave her way to pass then i heard Haidar's voice behind me
"Hajiya Hanny ikon Allah"
"Ranki ya dade gimbiya" he said again and she jokingly eyed him pushing him aside,
"Kai dai Haidar baka chanja wa" she said and he collected the baby from her before she sat down
"Farrah is all grown up" he said touching the baby's cheeks
"Why wont she grow behind your back when we're both here in Abuja but you never come to my house" she snapped
"Haba yaya babba ba haka bane" Haidar tried explaining himself but she raised her hands to stop him
"Kaji da shi, ni matsa please in sha iska" she said removing her veil
I just stood there watching their drama"
"This is Jadwa, Sultan's maid" Haidar introduced me
She turned and looked at me then I smiled
"Ummi told me about her but I haven't been to Zaria in like forever" she said
We exchanged greetings and she asked for a cup of juice,
Haidar handed me the baby and i happily collected her smiling, she was so cute
"Aunty Hanny" sultan's voice called coming down the stairs
"Ba wani Aunty Hanny, so you we're in Abuja amma a gari zanji you couldn't even call me" she snapped at Sultan and he gently wrapped his arms around her shoulders
"C'mon big sis, you know i cant do that" he said and continued
"Wallahi i came back from a seminar in London I wasn't even intending to stay back but i was damn tired" he explained
She just rolled her eyes and searched for the remote to turn on the tv
Sultan went and sat close to her, Haidar sat on the chair next to them
"Ina Farrah?" Sultan asked and she just pointed to my direction
I took that as a clue to take the baby to him but he turned immediately
"You're still scared of holding babies?" The woman called Hanny asked and he just smiled and turn away,
I couldn't help the chuckle that escaped my lips and immediately kept a straight face when he turned to look at me,
They stayed for quit a while before they decided to leave,
I enjoyed their company honestly because the version of sultan i saw today was a totally different version because Hanny was a drama queen and she tell anyone anything without hesitation,
"Till i see you again" she said gently collect Farrah from my hand
"Sai anjima" i told her closing the car door for her then they took off,
The next day we set to go back to Zaria but Sultan wasn't feeling so well to sit for a long time in the car so we ended up taking a flight back,
Amla was excited as if someone invited her to Madinah,
"Jadwa I taught I'll never see you again" she said embracing me into a hug
We hugged for a while before she helped me with my things,
I hurried and changed into my maids uniform since I'm back to business,
Sultan just asked for noodles and tea as if he knew i was exhausted today thank God,
😬😬😬😬 sorry for the late update
