Jadwa

I felt kind of relieved when i woke up the next morning the sore throat and headache were gone but the fever was still there but much better now,

I felt so lazy to get up so i laid there replaying last nights scenario in my head smiling like an idiot,

I heard the door open and immediately i closed my eyes pretending to be asleep,

Someone touched my neck and forehead then left, or so I taught because immediately I opened my eyes I found a worried looking sultan starring at me

"How are you feeling now?" He asked and I replied with "Alhamdulillah" before looking down immediately because i was kinda shy,

"Salamualaikum" Ammah said coming in with a tray

"Jadwa ya jiki?"

"Alhamdulillah Ammah" I replied

"Allah ya kare ka Yarima" she said as she dropped the tray on my bedside drawer and left,

Immediately she closed the door I got up bowing to Sultan "what should i make for breakfast your highness?"

He said nothing he just looked down at me like an ant since he is so taller than me,

I looked down immediately my eyes caught his,

"Jadwa" he called slowly and I answered "Na'am"

"Look at me" he ordered and I hesitated before I gently looked up to meet his eyes

"I don't want to see you near the kitchen as long as we're here"

I couldn't help but dilate my eyes because I don't know what else i will be doing without aside working,

"Yes your highness" then I looked down again

"Better, now sit and eat everything on the tray I'm coming" he said pointing to the tray Ammah kept then he left

There was potato porridge, ginger tea and a glass of orange juice so I tried eating the porridge but couldn't finish it, I drank the tea also and was removing my medicine when he came back and sat opposite me,

He looked at the half porridge remaining and then at me, he then raised his eyebrows

"I...i can't finish it" I stuttered

"Its okay, here take the medicine" he said handing me the cup of juice,

"Thank you" then I collected the glass and drank it

"Take some rest okay?" He said and i nodded then he stood up and left closing the door gently behind him,

I slept for about 5 hours I guess because when I woke up it was already 3pm,

I managed to bath and pray since i was kind of strong now,

I wore a simple gown which I mysteriously got in London and covered my hair since i have nothing to pack it with,

After praying I decided to go out and start working then I remembered Sultan ordered me not to so i laid there starring at the ceiling before I heard a faint knock on the door and i got up to open it,

"Jadwa ya jiki?" Mus'ain asked coming in holding some bags

He brought out a wrap from the bag and gave me

"Ma'ida made shawarma so I decided to bring some for you" he said unwrapping the thing

"Whats that?" I whispered because i had no idea what it was

"Really jadwa?" He asked chuckling

"Taste it"

So I collect it from him and examined the thing before i took a small bite, it wasn't bad at all

"Nice huh?" He asked smiling and i nodded

He brought out different varieties of juice and dropped it on my bedside drawer, he hot a cup and poured me the apple juice,

He stayed and we talked for sometime mostly him making jokes and me either chuckling or laughing,

He stayed till it was dark outside before he decided to leave,

"I have to go for Anas wedding cocktail JD, Allah ya kara sauki kinji" he said getting up to leave

"If I don't come in the morning we'll see in Zaria"

"Allah ya kaimu" i said getting up to escort him

"Thank You musmus" i joked and he smiled before leaving,

I went back but i was so bored and craving fried egg so I decided to go make some since Mus'ain said there is an event tonight so I taught Sultan also left for the event,

I gently went to the kitchen and started my business without even noticing that there was a presence there until the time I turned on the cooker and was about to pick the frying pan,

I dropped it immediately i saw Sultan standing my the kitchen door,

"Subhanallah" i quickly said picking the pan

"Waccu doing?" He asked coming towards me

"I.....i.....i" My words betrayed me and i started stammering

"Huh?" He asked still waiting for me to speak up so I turned my head to the direction of the egg and then to the cooker

"What did I tell you?" He asked in a more serious tune and I knew that i had to speak up

"Im sorry" i said with a teary eyes

"I was hungry thats why"

"Haven't you eaten dinner?" He asked and i shook my head gesturing no

Then he raised his brows before going to the landline on the other side of the kitchen to make a call,

"Why wasn't she served dinner?" He asked sounding so pissed

"Ammah you know how i hate talking twice, it's either they know their job or get the people who do because this is not how i live my life"

I just stood there looking at him without saying a word

"Well send someone here to fry eggs for her" he didn't wait a bit for the person on the other line to reply he just slammed the phone down and came back to my side,

"Give them 5 minutes to make the eggs for you okay? Lets go" he said and my legs instantly followed behind him without my consent

"Why is he being nice to me all of a sudden?" I mentally asked myself

He sat on the couch in the parlor and I gently went back to my room,

I was about to sit on the bed when he entered the room

"Hope you're feeling okay now?" He asked

"Yes your highness"

"Allah ya kara sauki" he said with a straight face

"Ameen"

"Are you strong enough to sit in the car back to Zaria tomorrow?"

"Ni Jadwa, why is he asking me????? Omg????"

I didn't know what to say so i nodded and he said "Alhamdulillah"

Then the door opened and one of the maid here came in with the plate of egg omelette

I got up and collected it immediately and she bowed greeting sultan nervously but he didn't even look at her side

"Don't forget to take your medicine" he reminded

"We shall leave tomorrow in shaa Allah okay?? Sai da safe" then he left and I hurried and finished my egg and took the medicine

The next morning we left for Zaria at around 10,

Mus'ain came to join us complaining that he prefers sultan's ride than any other,

All through the journey sultan didn't say up to 5 sentences but Mus'ain was just blabbing like a parrot and half of what he's saying always cracks me up,

Immediately we arrived Sultan left the car before any of us,

"See you later JD, i need to sleep" Mus'ain said as the car drove off with him,

Immediately I entered with my bag i saw Sultan standing by the window so pissed so I didn't bother to say anything to him and was about to enter my room when he spoke up

"Whats wrong with you?" He asked sounding so furious

"No...Nothing your majesty"

"Nothing??? Are you fucking kidding me"

"What did you do now Jadwa" my inner voice asked and i had no answer to that question

I started sniffing because i was already crying

"Shit" he said coming to my side

"Jadwa" he called and i said "Na'am in a teary voice"

"Why cant you be free with me the same way you're free with Mus'ain?" He asked full of emotions I've never ever seen before
