"....Lets go...." I said, as Alice's face lit up.
Alice: "Hah! That's the spirit!" she squealed as she practically sprung off the floor and tackled me with a hug.
I had just agreed to something that could probably get me into a lot of trouble.
This could probably even extend my time here in prison if got caught.
Hell Satsuri's gonna be way too disappointed in me if I end up getting caught.
But still...... I wanna do it.
I don't know why, but It feels like Alice wouldn't be as immature to do anything that could possibly end either of us in trouble.
Sure I don't trust her completely, but isn't this a great opportunity to establish that trust between us?
Besides, even if things do go south, Alice has got my back, right?
But sti-
Alice: "You know..." she spoke, taking my attention off my thoughts. "There is a deeper meaning for this...... Other worldly trip."
"W-what does that mean?" I questioned.
Alice: "Remember when we first met, I said that something about you felt different?" she asked after she peeled off from the hug and stared down at me softly in the eye.
"Yeah..... I d-do." I stuttered, As I felt drawn towards her lucent white eyes.
Alice: "Well, I have one theory why I felt that way. And this trip will confirm it." she said as she cupped my cheek and smiled softly.
Its kinda funny. Coz given the position we are in, I'd usually be a blushing mess. But neither do I feel any sort of heat build up in me, nor do I feel any sort of awkwardness towards her.
Could it be that I'm a lot more comfortable around Alice than I realize?
Whatever it is, I'll pass over it for now. Coz I got few questions to ask.
"And what theory is tha-" "Huuuushh....." she immediately placed a finger over my lip, as she silenced me midway within a breath.
Alice: "Put these on." she said as she tossed me a pair of white and black sneakers out of nowhere.
"Oh! Okay..." I said as while I caught them.
I didn't understand why she wanted me to wear those, but I didn't wanna question in it. As Alice finally got off me, I started putting on the shoes. While I did, I couldn't help but notice the brand name.
"Nike?" I questioned with a raised brow. "Did you materialize the shoes along with the sign too?"
Alice: "Materialize? I can't do anything like that" she replied with a light frown.
"Then were did you get these.... From?"
Alice: "I didn't GET these from anywhere!" she frowned while giving me a boop again. "I went out yesterday and brought them for you!"
"O-oh.. Thanks... I guess" As I said that, she grew a mischievous smile over her face.
Alice: "Don't mention, Those weren't my money anyway!"
"Wha.......... " I stopped myself from questioning her again. I didn't wanna come off annoying.
I just sighed and continued tying my shoes. And they are off perfect size too....
As I was done tying, she walked over to me with a smile.
Alice: "Lets get going." she said, gaining a nod from me as she pressed her hand over my chest.
I felt a gentle, yet strong tug inside me. Like something was compressing at rapid spee-
. . . . . . . .
"Huh?" Was all I could say as I suddenly felt myself standing on both of my feet.
The dimly lit room was now replaced with a largely extending floor, with its well polished tiles reflecting the lights on the ceiling. The solitude of us both was replaced with myriad of people roaming all over the place.
I was in a goddamn mall. Just like that!
A wave of nervousness hit me, as I just realised people walking around were giving me looks.
But to my surprise, they just ignored me and continued on with their work. Like I was just an ordinary passerby.
Alice: "Like I thought" I heard her speak as she intervened her arm around mine. "Nobody knows about us...."
I look over my side, to see that her eyes were now looking normal, with grey Iris. She appeared very. Very human right now.
Is it strange I prefer the ghostly Alice more?
"What do you mean nobody knows?" I asked.
Alice: "With mass murderers like Aria, Chara.......... And myself...." she broke a sigh before continuing. "Lets say everyone back at Guilty Pit. Shouldn't the news about us spread globally?" she asked while we started walking.
Well she does have a point.
Even taking Chara as an example. I don't know how long she's been in that prison, but I don't remember ever having heard of her anywhere in the news or the internet. With a kill count over 400, shouldn't she be really popular?
Now that I think of it, how come she isn't executed?
Not that I want her dead, but I'm just a bit curious.
"I....." I spoke, looking at Alice. "I don't know... The more I think about it, the lesser it makes sense."
Alice: "I know right" she said as we got on an empty elevator. "The news about the murders never spread. They were fabricated enough to misdirect people into believing all the deaths were just a tragedy born out of an accident. I guess, the witnesses were either threatened or bribed to keep their mouth shut."
She paused and looked at me.
Alice: "Why do you think they did that?"
"I...... Have no Idea..."
Alice: "Me neither" she said, exhaling loudly.
Alice: "Anyway, What I'm trying to say is, Nobody's gonna recognize us as a bunch of fugitives. So calm down" she said, slowly regaining her mischievous tone.
"I see....." I sighed with relief. Sure I have more questions in my head, but I don't wanna ruin this moment.
My attention returned to earth as the elevator reached the second floor.
Alice: "C'mon!" she yelled as she started dragging me while holding my hand.
I yelled in surprise the sudden pull, but accepted it anyway. Besides, Alice is at same height as mine, so it doesn't feel weird walking hand in hand with her. Unlike Elena who was assisting me like a lost orphan.
Well can't blame her. She is a mature woman, so maybe it was her motherly instincts or something... Okay, that's just weird.
I shrug it off and continue walking with Alice.
To no ones surprise, the first place we went was Decathlon section.
Alice: "Okay first what we'll be buying...." she pulled out a piece of paper and started tracing her finger along a list which I assume she made herself. "Lets see.... We gotta buy swimming shorts for you, Bikini for me, few full sleeved shirts for both us, and few not-so-skintight jeans, also lets buy a pair of matching hoodies. We don't need a tent or anything, so lets finish up here quickly and head to the clothing section."
Okay.... That's one hell of a list. And goddamn it! I'm starting to look forward to the trip too!
"Okay... Lets start the shopping then"
With that, our shopping began.
Even though it took an hour just in the Decathlon section, I couldn't help but enjoy every second of it.
After few more minutes, we found ourselves going through a bunch of hoodies, trying to find the best matching pair.
Alice: "I think these will do for you!" she squealed as she picked out a pair of hoodies, one on each hand. "Pick one!"
Both of them are black, But good regardless.
"I'll go for that." I said, pointing to my preferred hoodie.
Alice: "Cool choice! But I'll buy you both anyway!" she bluntly said while turning towards the rack once again. "Then I'll choose this!" she picked out a similar themed hoodie.
Okay..... That's a bit creepy.
But if its Alice, I think it would look good on her. Her pale complexion would go well against it.
"Yeah.... I think you'd look good in it" I said while rubbing the back of my head.
Alice: "I know right!" she exclaimed as she threw the hoodies in the trolley before proceeding to the cash counter.
After all the billing was done, Clothing store was next.
In no time, I found myself going through few T-shirts, trying to find something good for Alice.
Meanwhile, Alice was going through rows, trying find a shirt for me.
After few minutes of running my hands within the hanging T-shirts, Something caught my eye.
Uh... Seems a bit edgy, But I think its well within her tastes.
"Um... Alice?" I called out, taking the T-shirt in my hands. In no time, she hurried over to me while keeping her right hand behind her back, Like she was hiding something.
Alice: "What is i-oooooooooohh my god, that'ssocool!!!" she cried out in amusement as she snatched the T-shirt off my arms.
'Oh well, at least she likes it' I sighed as I watched her eye every corner of fabric in the T-shirt. I don't think anyone can help but chuckle at her cuteness.
Alice: "I have one for you too!" she declared, pulling me out of admiration.
She then Brought her right hand forward, revealing another T-shirt.
Alice: "So? What do you think?"
"Uh... Yeah.... I like it...."
Alice: "Hahaha! I knew you'd like it!"
"Uh... Yeah... Than- Ouch!" I was cut off midway by a chop to the head.
Alice: "No gratitude or apologies between buddies, Remember?" she said while resting her hands on her hips.
"Yeah.... True..."
I can say that Alice really does see me as a friend, even though it hasn't even been a week since we met. Since she is throwing away any sort of awkwardness, I guess its only fair if I do the same.
I excused myself and hit the washroom real quick, and when I came back, she had already finished billing our cloths.
Finally, w went on to buy some snacks. After all, what is trip without snacks? Strangely, most of the snacks are just cookies.
Seems like she just loves cookies...
After buying the snacks, and looking around the mall, we were finally done with shopping.
Alice: "Ooof! Finally done with the essentials!" she sighed while wiping of an imaginary sweat drop.
"Yeah! Now...... Where are we headed?" I asked.
Come to think of it, I never really asked where she was taking me. Nor did I bother questioning how we were going. Train? Flight?
Alice: "Noooow we head to the terrace!" she exclaimed while dragging me to the Elevator.
"Terrace? Like THE-TOP-OF-THE-MALL?"
Alice: "Duh!"
She pressed the button to the top most floor and started tapping her heals rapidly while we were going up. Looks like she is having troubles containing her excitement.
Once the lift reached the terrace, I was dragged out of it even before the doors fully opened. Stepping into terrace, I could see that it was already dark outside. The sun's gone down a long time ago.
"So why are we her-" "Shhh" she silenced me before I could finish.
She started intently staring at the cloudless evening sky, her eyes darting all over the place.
She even started muttering something I couldn't hear.
Is she casting a spell or something? Or maybe she's just counting stars?
I silently chuckled at my weak humour. Maybe she is looking for somethi-
"Got it!" She screamed. That was bone chilling........
"W-what is it?" I asked, feeling like she just came up with something dangerously crazy.
Alice: "Get over here!" she said as she put her arm around my neck and pulled me closer, our cheeks pressing against each other. "Look at this" She stretched her other hand forward and pointed to a star.
Alice: "Choose one, this?" she moved her hands further to the left and pointed to another star. "Or that?"
"Um..... What?"
Alice: "Just choose!"
"Okay! Okay....! Geez" I sighed at her persistence and thought about choosing.
I don't really understand what she's thinking, so I'll just choose one.
"I guess.......... The first one?" I said.
Alice: "Awesome choice! Lets get going then!" she yelled in excitement as she took the shopping bags in one hand, and held my hand with the other.
"Wait! Where are we even going?" I finally asked. I could feel her getting ready to teleport.
Alice: "What do you mean 'Where'? You just choose the spot" she said, purposefully sounding confused.
I choose the spot? When? And where?
Wait.... The stars.. Her teleportation.... Other worldly trip...... Nah! That's just too crazy even for her.
Maybe she's just teasing me.
I think I'll get to know where we are going if I ask her a bit differently.
"Um...... How far is this place we are going?" I questioned.
Alice: "Its not really that far, honestly...." she said sounding a bit sheepish.
"Then tell me" I asked, starting to get concerned.
Alice: "Like I said, Not that far. Its just a few..........."
"Few what?"
Alice: "Few..... Million light years away! Nowletsgetgoing!!!!!!"
"Wait wha-"
