You creak your eyes open, feeling yourself lying down on the grassland. Save for your head, which felt like it was resting on a soft pillow.
You drag your hand up, feeling your palm brush against the cold grass, and throw the arm over your eyes. It felt like you just woke up from a beauty nap.
Alice: "good morning" you hear Alice speak. And her voice sounded close, too close.
Pulling your arm back, you finally open your eyes. As your vision transitions from a dreamy blur to a contrastingly clear one, the first thing you see is Alice smiling down at you. A few strands of her hair hanging down towards your face.
Her molten white eyes staring at you with utter calmness.
"Hi..." you say, trying to look past her burst that was covering half of her face.
'Wait a second' you think, with a newly occurring realization. 'Am I lying down on her lap?' now that would explain why Alice was looking down at you.
With a little blush, you press your arm against the ground and sit up.
Rubbing your eyes, you tried to remember what happened before you ended up on Alice's lap, but as you did, something else caught your eyes. Slowly, you look up, at the sky.
Instead of the usual blue, You see something entirely different. It almost felt like you were on............ another...... planet.......
"Wait a minute" You exclaim as you snap your head back towards Alice. "Where are we again?" You ask.
The air felt thicker as you spoke.
Almost Immediately, Alice's face dropped.
She clutches her arm, as she has a regretful expression all over her face.
Alice: "I'm..... I'm sorry..."
"W-why are you apologizing?" you asked, panic starting to erupt on your mind.
Alice: "The teleportation failed..... This is afterlife"
"What!?" You scream in terror.
Alice: "Pfffft! Hahahahaha!" she burst out laughing while clutching her stomach. "Of course, I am joking, silly"
Hearing that, you deeply exhale. A wave of relief washed over you, realizing you aren't dead yet.
Without you noticing, she walked closer and placed a boop in your nose.
Alice: "Calm down, you are in my care now. I wouldn't do anything that could put your life in danger..... At least not too much"
"Hey!"
Alice: "Hahaha, sorry sorry." she sheepishly grinned. "But to answer your question, we are currently on a distant planet" she said while deadpanning towards the end, as you stood up.
"How...... Distant?" you ask, while accepting the fact that Alice's teleportation was unbelievably strong.
Alice didn't answer, instead she just kept staring at you with a smile.
"Alice?" you call out again.
Again, no answer. She seemed like she had spaced off while looking at your direction.
Sure, her translucent white hair, looming in the wind kinda looked cool. But her standing still was somewhat panicking.
"Alice!" you yell at her.
She shuddered for a sec, randomly blinking her eyes before finally looking back at you.
Alice: "Y-yeah dear, what's it?" she asked, regaining her playful smile.
"What happened? Are you alright?" you asked a bit concerned, totally missing the fact she called you 'Dear'.
Alice: "Yup yup! I'm a-okay! Was just thinking something" she waved her hands randomly. "What were you asking, again?"
"I asked, how...... Far from home, are we?" you ask again.
Alice: "Millions of light years away. So far that the sun's light doesn't reach" she said as she handed you the backpack. "But don't worry though, there is no distance I can't cover. I'm even keeping a track of time, so we'll go back without any trouble" she reassured as she put on a backpack that had all the snacks.
"who said I'm worrying? I trust you, okay? I'm just........ In shock. Like, I can't totally accept the fact we are on a whole another planet, just like that" You said while snapping your fingers.
Alice: "Hmm hmm!" she exaggeratedly nodded. "I get it! It was the same for me the first time too." she informed as she took your hand in hers.
"Is....... Is this the planet I choose?" You ask, a bit embarrassed of Alice's closeness.
Alice: "you still believe that?" She asked, sounding almost impressed.
"What?"
Alice: "The option I gave to choose between two stars, that was a joke." she snickered. "Truth be told, I didn't even know if those were stars at all"
"Of course....." you sigh, getting slightly annoyed by her 'jokes'
"Then where are we? Like, I know this is a distant planet and all, but have you been here before?"
Alice: "I've been here before......" she said, giving a minimal answer.
"Whe-" You were about to ask another question, if not for Alice placing a finger on your lips.
Alice: "You talk too much" she tilted her head with a smile.
"S-sorry..... I was just curious....."
Alice: "I know. All your questions will be answered later on, for now, lets get some rest. You're tired after all the shopping ,aren't you?"
"Yes...... I am" You said, now made aware of the fatigue you've been Ignoring. "Where are we resting?" you ask.
Alice: "Hmmmm. Lets see, first off, we aren't going to be taking a nap or anything, so some place suitable to just lay down would be enough" she concluded while slamming her hand on your back.
"Ow!" you yelp. "Why did you do that!?"
Alice: "It helps me think" she said as she placed her hand below her chin and started thinking.
Seeing that Alice was deep in thoughts, you took a look around you. The grassland you were standing on, was almost flawless.
It was extending out to a large distance, with no burrows dug anywhere. The grass were dancing over the wind and often had ripples off waves racing off to random corners.
Plus, the breeze was somewhat soothing too.
"Alice?" you call out to the demoness. She looks back at you with slightly raised brows.
Alice: "That's me"
"Of course I know its you!"
Alice: "Heh heh, calm down. Its a joke, not a dick, so don't take it too hardly" she snicked with a hand over her mouth.
"Even if its not hard, I'm not gonna take a dick in me!!" you yelled, causing Alice to start laughing again.
Obviously, you both were just playing around, not taking anything too seriously.
After Alice got over her laughing, she straightened herself and spoke again.
Alice: "Anyway, you wanted to say something?" she asked, walking closer and putting an arm over your shoulder.
"Yeah.... How about we lay down here? I mean the grass looks pretty smooth too" you suggested.
Alice: "Hmm, that's fine by me. If we walk a little bit, there is slope ahead. That would be perfect, don't you think?" She asked, while pointing at the grassy slope.
"Yeah... That is fine too, I guess"
Alice: "Purrfect! Lets go then." she chirped as she held your hand, and intervened your fingers.
You slightly blush at the close contact, before following along with her.
You were already aware of Alice's unusual closeness, but this was just.... Odd.
Sure there was Aria, who kissed you on your very first day in prison....... If you can call it that.
'But she's a bat shit, crazy, blood lusting, pervert!' You internally cringe, remembering the abuse she's put you through.
'And yet, I often catch myself thinking about her....'
And then there was Chara, who appeared abusive and crazy at the start, but then came out and befriended you.
Sure, her methods were a bit....... Destructive. But in the end, she saved your life.
'Whoa whoa! Calm down. She's serial killer, remember? What if she has some sort of hidden reason to befriend me...... But, what if she befriended me because we really are similar like she said?'
Sure, Chara's line seemed a bit blurry, but in the end, Chara and Aria being so close to you was justifiable..... Somewhat.
But then there is Alice, who approached you and spoke to you like a naturally friendly person...... Well, a friendly person with super powers.
But then again, that's the end. There's absolutely no reason for her to reveal her secrets to you.
'So why?' you think.
Alice: "Yup! This place is perfect!" she exclaimed, bringing you out of your thoughts.
You realized that you had arrived at the slope.
"A-ah, yeah." You say as you sit down on the grass, placing the backpack on the your side.
Alice sat down next you, and placed her backpack aside.
As you made yourself comfortable, Alice leaned on your arm and sighed loudly.
'Guess she's tired too, huh?' you think to yourself.
With Alice leaning on you, with her head head hanging low, speaking absolutely nothing, it felt odd compared to her usual bubbly self.
But, you decide not to question it, giving her some space.
Taking a look above you, you notice that the blue hue in the sky is slowly increasing, with red fading away.
'Guess it is evening....' you assume.
The gentle breeze was calming, and was carrying the aroma of what you assumed flowers with it.
Though the fragrance smelled more like nectar than some leafy scent.
With the sky slowly, and peacefully becoming more and more starry, you can't help but catch glimpses of few shooting stars.
'Should I make a wish?' You think.
'Heh, as if....'
While you were engaged in counting the shooting stars, you hear Alice whimper.
Looking at your side, you notice her shoulders shudder, and her breath hitch.
"Hey Alice, you alright?" you ask.
She shakes her head while rubbing her eyes, her whimpers sounded louder and more pained.
"Alice, what's wrong?" you ask, getting in front of her and placing a hand on her shoulder.
She slowly lifts her head and looks at you. Her mouth was contorted into a weak frown and her eyes looked tired. Exact opposite of her usual self.
There was so much pain in her eyes, that it completely changed the fun loving aura in merely seconds.
You watch with concern, as tiny black droplets of liquid bloomed at corners of her eyes.
Soon, the inky black liquid started leaking down her pale cheeks....... Like tears.
She started sobbing, as she brought her hands up and tried wiping away the tears, but they just kept coming.
She sobbed louder and louder, before she eventually broke down crying.
"Alice! What's wrong? Did I do somethi-" Your concerned words were cut off, as Alice wrapped her arms around your neck and pulled you into a hug.
You didn't understand what was happening, but seeing that she was crying, you decided to return the hug, in an effort to comfort her.
You placed a hand around her back, and the other on the ground, as she continued sobbing at her neck.
"Alice...... What happened?" you asked, still keeping her in an embrace.
Alice: "Two years......" she said, not letting you go, as her voice cracked a bit.
"What?"
Alice: "Two years in solitary..... I've been waiting.... For you"

(A/N): yeah, I'm not dead. I was on a break, now I'm back.
