"I....... Infatuation?" You repeat after what Alice just said.
It took a while for you to process her words, but when you did, a shiver crawled up your spine.
A part of you has fear blooming in it, and a larger part of you is already making up scenarios. Negative scenarios.
You thought of Alice as a trust worthy friend. So much so that you never even thought of taking any form of hostility.
But now, being pinned to the ground, having her sitting on your chest and looking down at you with a contradicting childish smile, you couldn't say the same anymore.
You feel a bad sense of deja vu, as you think:
'She...... She is just like Aria....' if not, worse. You have been under Aria's mercy before, but this was on a whole another level. Physically and mentally.
Her grip was rigid as iron, unmoving no matter how much you struggled. It was like having your hand soldered to the ground.
Mentally, she seemed almost as twisted as Aria was. After all, she pretended to be your friend, and brought you so far from home. Nobody was gonna know what she would to you.
Also, you felt a sense of betrayal. Cause despite her previously scary appearance, you trusted her. Once again, you felt like you were being betrayed by someone you truste-
"Hmm.... Actually, no" Alice suddenly said.
This time, you could muster some hostility. Not that it mattered, considering she was still sitting on your chest.
"Hmmm...... Actually, I think infatuation may not be the right word after all" only after she said this, did you feel a glint of hope return.
You didn't say anything, and just stayed silent. Waiting for her to finish, and trying not to jinx it.
"Lets see...... Infatuation means temporary toxic affection, right? So I don't think that is quite right in my case...." she hummed innocently, contradicting her wild behaviour earlier on.
'Whatever it is, just let it not be anything similar to what Aria has!' you prey to yourself.
"Lets see.... Uh..... Like, take the 'temporary' part off infatuation, what do you have?" she asked, curiosity coating her luminescent white eyes.
"Uh..... Permanent infatuation?" You answered, hoping that wasn't the case. It's one thing to have a toxic-obsessive-affection, and it's a lot worse for it to last forever.
"Well duh, obviously. But the term 'Infatuation' just feels misfit, you know...." She mumbled to herself.
Thanks to her iron grip, your wrists were going numb, and you noticed it too. A lot of blood flow has been cut off.
"what part of it feels wrong?" You asked, hoping to solve her riddle quickly, and making her let go of you before you lose the feeling of your wrists forever.
"Hmm... Lets see" she hummed as she leaned her chest closer to yours.
She smelled weird...... Like petroleum.
Behind her dress, you catch a glimpse of her breasts. Large, puffy and flawless white, tightly imprisoned under her black bra.
"Ah! I got it!" Alice loudly exclaimed. Too loudly, as she sat back up.
You were left with a little ringing in your ears, but didn't complain too much. After all, it did help you to turn your attention away from breast before she caught you looking.
'Man that was close' you spill out a sigh. However, your relief is cut short, as she speaks again.
"Infatuations terms with affection, right?" she asked to no one in particular. "But it's not just affection with me..... I see...... I see..... That's it!"
With another exclaiming, she finally let go of your wrists. Your wrists almost hurt, as you feel the blood rush back to them.
Anymore and you would've had to live without them.
However, your relief is cut short, as she gently grabs your face and coaxes you to look at her.
"So that's what it is..... I'm not infatuated... I'm just in love with you"
"Ah-" You start, ready to counter her words. But you get stuck at the very start, as you realise what she just said.
'Did....... Did I hear it wrong?' You think to yourself, however-
"No, you heard it all-right! I really do love you!"
. . . .
Seconds pass by with you staring at Alice, slowly blinking many times, as she continued looking down at you.
Slowly, you aren't able hide the blushing anymore. Saying it once was enough, but saying twice just crashed your mind. Leaving you frozen with embarrassment.
You had to admit, that was the wildest love confession you had received.
As she much as you were relieved that she wasn't crazy like your bloody valentine back in prison, your mind couldn't help but remind you of her proposal.
A part of you actually felt happy that she thought about you like that. Though, a bigger part of couldn't help but point out-
'Isn't this a bit too fast?' after all, it hasn't even been a week since you arrived here....
"Not for me" she spoke, stringing your attention again. "This isn't fast for me, like at all"
Right, she could read your mind. You didn't know how to feel about that.
"you know" she started, and as she did, you noticed that sky was now neon violet, painted with a myriad of stars. As Alice's long white hair swayed in the wind, added with her glowing white eyes and the sky as background, you found her to be too lustrous.
However, before you could adore her any further, she continued-
"This may feel like it's too soon for you, but to me, its quite the opposite" she took a deep huff and smiled. "After all, I had two years to slowly and surely fall in love with you. Not to mention I now kinda know everything about you, at least everything after your memory lose"
Well, that did make sense.
As outrageous as it seemed, the demoness had a point every time she spoke. Her calm demeanour was always using facts to overcome mental roadblocks.
That aside, you thought about your response to her confession.
Sure, you loved her company. She was a rather interesting person to hang around with, not to mention somewhat romantic. But, that didn't mean you were in love with her, especially not in such a short time.....
"Ahh!" Alice yelled, seeming like she just read your mind again. "You do have a point, you do have a point....... Dammit why do you have a point?"
She bit on her finger tip, almost seeming frustrated. However, she paused for a moment, and with a sigh, she recovered back to her calm demeanor.
When she looked back at you with a smile, you noticed a little change in her eyes.
She seemed a bit more...... Calculating.
"It seems like you can't accept my love just yet...... Very well, I'll do this like a demoness instead" she walked over to you, before standing distractingly close to you. She placed a hand over you chest, running her slander fingers over it, she said- "(Y/N)... Make a deal with me"
"what deal?" you asked, feeling a little pressure on your throat.
"I will protect your life when we get back to the prison. I will make sure to be your guardian angel whenever you need"
"Wow rea-" "In exchange" she cut you off before you could get your hopes up. "Be my husband"
If you had water in your mouth, you were sure you would have spit it out.
After all, she just went from being a friend, to asking to you be her husband. Not to mention you were a bit too young to be married.
Under normal consequences, it would have been easy to just deny her. But this time, the bargain was a bit favourable.
If she were to protect you when you get back to prison, you were sure you could somehow keep your piece of mind intact. Just spending few hours with Aria proved to be utter mind fuck, so Alice's offer was practically the best thing you could have right now.
"Yup" Alice nodded, having read your thoughts again. "I'm glad you understand that currently your only beacon of hope is me!" she said while proudly huffing her chest.
"Besides, as a demoness, I can take better care of myself. You don't have to worry about anything other than just being a good husband" she informed. "What do you say?" You noticed that her voice suddenly lost it's dark edge it always had. She still sounded the same, but there was a lot less intensity to it this time.
Maybe she did to comfort you?
Anyway, thinking back to what she just said.
'That's it? Just call myself her husband, and I'll be given divine- ok, not really divine protection?' you think, an unavoidable smile creeping up on your face. The offer was sounding more and more good by the second.
'It's just like a roleplay..... Maybe I can do this' you think as you turn towards Alice, who was looking at you with a huge glee.
"Um......." you swallowed deeply, a part of you knew you were walking straight into something. "S.... Sure" you muttered, feeling embarrassed like never before.
"Yaaaaayyyy!" she squealed as she lifted you up and spun you around like you were nothing. A bit too harshly.
You latched on to her, so that you wouldn't be thrown away.
After few more seconds of spinning, she finally stops and sets you down. You almost stumble due to a little dizziness, if not for Alice still holding you. After she lets you go, you squint your eyes and rub your forehead, letting the situation sink in deeper.
'Man.... I just agreed to be her husband.... Not even her boyfriend, but her husband...' you think.
'..... What now?'
*CLAP* *CLAP*
Drawn to the sudden noise, you look back at Alice. She was now standing a few feet away, and had her back turned towards you, as she stood facing the extending meadows.
Curiously, you too follow her gaze. For a moment, you think that the shadows in the meadows have darkened, but think nothing much of it, as it was somewhat of an evening time. However, the shadows continued to darken, as if moving. Somewhat alarmed, you continue to look, as the shadows grow so dark that it looked like pitch black smoke.
You look up at the sky for a moment, wondering if it was just a normal occurrence. But- 'No..... The sky is still too bright... Not to mention with that many stars, even during night time......' the land would still be too luminous for it get that dark.
'These aren't just shadows....' you think, feeling a ripple of shiver on your skin.
"You're right!" Alice exclaimed, as she spread her arms with a wide smile. You just watched on with your mouth agape, as her white haired fluttered on the wind. Her eyes being somewhat wide, you could see a mild reflection of the sky over her eyeballs.
'God..... She's too good....' you think, for a moment almost forgetting about the possible danger.
"Hehe~ thank you" she chuckled, embarrassing you again.
"you don't have to worry about the shadows" She informed, as from the cloudy black sea, multiple silhouette's emerged.
'Ghh! What is that, what the fuck is that!?' you internally scream. And to add more to the creepiness, the figures took shape.
You couldn't believe what you saw.
"Skeletons....?" in maid suits and tuxedo's.
It's a rare thing to see a human skeleton to begin with, and it was something else to see them wearing cloths and moving around with life. The skeletons in tuxedo, whom you assumed the male ones, took a knee. While those in maid uniforms, preferably females, elegantly bowed.... While facing Alice.
"These are just some demons under my control...." she informed, while still facing them. "Well, their authority originally belonged to my guardians, but yeah" she shrugged.
"I.... I see" you say, realizing she was a demoness for a reason.
Alice took in a deep breath, and.. "Raise" she ordered her demons, who obediently stood up straight.
"Baby" she called out to you, while tilting her head to look back at you. You looked back at her, blushing a little due to what she just called you.
"Yeah?"
"Come stand near me" she told you, with a subtle commanding tone.
Without saying another word, you just went stood next to her nervously. She held onto your hand firmly, and...
"Listen up" she ordered her demons, full authority in her voice.
"you guys" she said while pointing to a group of male skeletons.
"Build a Ceremony Hall. Large enough for at least 500 guests. I want it done in 6 hours" the group gave a nod and flew away at a distance.
'A Ceremony Hall in 6 hours!?' you yell internally. 'Also, 500 guests? Who are they?' You had so many questions.
"I want you 5" she ordered again while looking at another group, who perked up at her attention. "Go invite the.... Elders"
'Elders? Like, Boomers?' you earn a chuckle from Alice, who heard your thoughts.
"They sure are centuries old, but they are all healthy and young.... Well, at least in terms of flesh" she informed, looking away. "They are higher demons... Devils, if convenient to you. They usually perform very important tasks like ensuring there is always a healthy flow of negative energy.... Or sins, you know. Or another example would be seeing to that reincarnations are made wisely"
'Why aren't jobs on earth this interesting?' you think to yourself, not caring if Alice was listening.
"Uh-huh...... So why are we inviting them?" you ask, feeling a bit lost on all this... Stuff.
Alice gave you a look that said 'Isn't it obvious'. However, seeing that you actually meant the question, she just shrugged and answered.
"Well, if there is a wedding ceremony, isn't it common to get elder's blessings?" she asked.
"Ahh... Right..... -Wait a minute" you suddenly realise. 'I'm getting married!? Like, right now!?' you weren't prepared for that at all.
"Of course, silly~" she lightly punched your chest.
"Now then" she turned towards few maids. "Girls, get my husband groomed, will you?" the girls gave a nod, and walked over to you.
One of them gently took your hand in her skeletal ones, soundlessly asking you to go with them. Suddenly, their fleshless, skull faces didn't seem as creepy as they did before some time.
Before you could go with them, Alice spoke. However this time...
"Girls" her threatening undertone came back, giving you a little shiver, since you had gotten used to her.... Sweeter voice. "I'd like it if you avoided unnecessarily touching him.... Bones don't grow back, do they?"
This time, it was the Maid's turn to shiver. With a weak nod, she took her hands off yours, and start walking. You just followed her.
As you were walking along with them, you took some time to reflect on Alice.
Sure she was.... Dangerous. But maybe..
'If I try hard enough, I could get used to her....'
That's when you heard Alice order one of the demons, saying- "Also, prepare a king sized bed. Make sure it is strong enough to withstand..... Uh, wresting"
'Fuck, I'm never gonna get used to her!'
. . . . . . . . . . .
"Haaa~ how boring..." Chara sighed, walking through the corridor of yours and her cell.
"It's been two days since ghosty and our protagonist yeeted away with teleportation..... Maybe I should have went with them? Coz, god it's frustratingly boring in here!" she spoke to no one in particular, while lazily placing her hands behind her head.
She walked over to your cell, and opened the door while thinking. 'Hmm, they must have fucked by now, rig-'
Her thoughts came to crashing stop, as she saw something unexpected.
A bunch of your cloths were piled up in the middle of the room, while droplets of what seemed like blood were sprinkled all over them.
It seemed like it was done just some time ago, considering the blood was still fresh liquid.
Chara silently closed the door.
As she walked away from your room, she tied her brown hair into a ponytail while whispering to herself. "Is this like, Aria's idea of masturbation? And that blood, did she like, cut herself, or was she on her period? Whatever it is, I don't wanna know. Seriously, there's a limit to doing crazy shit, you know"
As she stopped by the main hall, she went to backyard. It was empty, considering it was nearing sunset.
"Welp, 2 hours to sunset. And one more day for the couple to comeback...." she said as she laid down on the grass, orange light illuminating everything in the backyard, including her.
"Let's see, First, I gotta go and have some fun for myself.... I'll take the entire night for that. And then, I should go find out more about the curious (Y/N)..." she concluded.
"Fwaaaa!" she yawned, feeling tired even though she hadn't done anything yet. "So much to do....."
With a relaxed sigh, her ember eyes gazed up to the sky, as whispered to herself...
"Things are getting so heated up... I can't wait to see how it explodes"
A/N: ok here's a question, do you want me to end it with Alice's arc, or should I go with my original plot, that covers everyone(Kinda long, and has some grotesque romance with Aria)?
