Instead of stopping in front of the twins' room like you assumed, they stopped in front of a different door, you still in Connors arms.
"Where are we going?" You asked softly, tired from the physical and mental exertion you had experienced in the cell.
"Somewhere that was made for you." Connor replied as Aiden opened the door for you two. You turned your head to look at the room you were entering.
It was fairly large, larger than your room at your house. The walls were painted a softer baby blue and the floor was a white carpet. A large bed sat in the right corner with a white nightstand sitting beside it. On the left side of the room sat a small fireplace with a blue chair. A small bookcase was pushed against the wall, a few books lining the shelves, and in the middle of the room sat a baby blue rug.
"What is this place?" You questioned, looking around.
"Your room," Aiden said with a grin, "Although it wasn't ready until about an hour ago."
"M-my room?" You stuttered as Connor walked over and sat you on the bed. You almost groaned. It was so soft. You had to physically restrain yourself from laying down and falling asleep on the spot because the twins were still there.
"Do you like it?" Connor asked as he glanced around and then back to you.
You nodded slowly as you pulled your knees up to your chest and hugging them.
He let out a sigh of relief, "I'm glad."
Aiden seemed to notice your tired state, "My brother and I will leave you alone for a few hours, but tonight you'll have to do your daily tidying up of our rooms. Oh! And tomorrow we'll need you to help us with our activities, but we'll talk to you about that later." He walked to the door and glanced at you one last time before going into the hall, Connor following him.
You felt your limbs tire more at the thought of having to go clean later and you laid back into the soft, plush pillows.
"So soft..." You murmured as you quickly drifted off into sleep.
There was someone gently pushing on your shoulder and whispering your name.
"(Y/n)...(Y/n)...(Y/n)!"
You slowly opened your (e/c) eyes and saw soft brown ones.
"H...hello Florence." You said as you yawned and slowly sat up, noticing the ache in your arms.
"Hello dear. I just came to wake you up to give you the extra maid uniforms you'll need as you spend more time here. I spent all night sewing them," She said as she gestured to a small pile of clothing sitting on the chair near the fireplace, "Along with your clothes from the village. The Princes also sent me to tell you that they want you to be at their room in about 10 minutes." She laughed and moved away from your bed and towards the door. "Don't leave them waiting." She added with a wink as she disappeared into the hallway.
"You have no idea." You muttered as you stood up and walked over to the chair to grab another uniform. Looking down at yours, you grimaced at the condition it was in. There were multiple soot stains and dirt was all over the skirt from when you had fallen to the ground in the cell.
You quickly found the door to your bathroom and opened it. The room resembled the princes but on a much much smaller scale. You went to unfold your clothes but two things slipped out. A pair of nude panties and a bra and a small card. You bent down to pick them up and flipped the card over.
Florence is a dear, but sometimes she forgets the most basic things a woman needs. Don't ask how I know your size, I have an eye for these types of things ;). ~M
You crushed the card in your hand, your face heating up in anger.
"Micah..." You growled as you threw the paper to the floor and began changing into your spare uniform. After tying the white bow around your neck and pulling your hair in a bun, for you didn't want to try to attempt the fancy work Florence had done, you pushed open the bathroom door and peered around your room one last time before entering the hallway.
Noticing that it seemed slightly familiar, you walked down the hall for a bit before turning right. You immediately recognized the princes hallway and sped down, fearing what would happen if you were late. You slowly opened the door to the princes room and looked around. The fire was steadily going and the door to their bedroom was open. You slowly stepped in and closed the door behind you, looking around for a sign of either brother.
"Connor? Aiden?" You called out as you slowly stepped into the room.
"We're in here," You heard Aiden call and you walked over to the bedroom, peaking inside. Aiden was lounging on his bed, a book in his hand and Connor was on the far side of the room drying his hair with a towel, staring at a mirror hanging on the wall.
You stood awkwardly in the doorway, waiting for either of them to say something. Connor turned around and smiled, "Its okay dear (Y/n), come in and sit." He gestured towards his bed and you hesitantly came into the room.
"I'll stand." You replied leaning against the wall.
Aiden raised and eyebrow and looked at you over his book, "Are you sure your legs are gonna be okay with that?"
You winced. Your legs did hurt, but you weren't touching either of their beds again. You'd deal with the pain.
"I'm fine." You said with a small smile.
Connor tossed his towel onto the floor and came over and sat on his own bed. You instinctively started playing with the ruffles under your skirt as you felt two pairs of eyes bore into you.
"(Y/n)," Connor said, and you stopped your hands, "There's nothing to be anxious about. I promise."
You gave him a sheepish smile, "So what did you guys want me to do?"
Aiden closed his book and stood up, "Nothing much. Just wanted you to retrieve our clothes and maybe dust the living area."
You nodded, knowing you could do that easily and it wouldn't put much strain on you.. "Alright." You turned and started walking through the living room but Connor stopped you.
"(Y/n)..." Connor started, and you turned to look at him.
"Yeah?"
"Did...Did someone visit you while you were in that cell?" He asked, his eyes dark.
Your face paled, "No Prince Connor. The only people who visited me where you and your brother."
His body language relaxed and he sighed, "Alright. Thank you."
You nodded and quickly rushed out of the room.
"She's lying." Aiden said, malice dripping from his voice.
"Yes. Yes she is." Connor said, coldly staring at the door. "But who would've visited her is the question..."
You quickly made your way down to the laundry room, thankful that you remembered the way. You grabbed the two baskets, not seeing the towel, and walked back up to the room.
What made them think someone visited me? You thought, I hope Micah's okay...
You shoved open the door and placed the baskets on their beds, gaining their attention. "Here you go!"
Aiden sighed, "Thank you (Y/n). You can dust quickly and then we'll talk about your duties for tomorrow."
You nodded and grabbed the duster from the armoire before going back into the living room and dusting the shelves and mantle. You felt a presence behind you and whirled around to see Connors puzzled expression.
"Why are our photos face down?" He asked, staring quizzically at you.
"O-oh um, I didn't want to look at you two yesterday..." You mumbled as you sat them back upright.
Connor laughed, "You're so silly sometimes (Y/n)."
You stepped away, embarrassed and returned the duster to its place. Sighing, you turned to look at the brothers who were both sitting on Connors bed.
"Alright, I'm done. What is it you need me to do tomorrow?" You asked, shifting from foot to foot, worried about what they would ask.
"Well," Aiden started, "We'll need you to grab our riding equipment early tomorrow morning and head out to the stables to notify the stable boy to ready our horses for a morning ride."
"Then when we get back," Connor continued, "We'll need you take our equipment back down and bring up a stack of books we requested be brought in. Then I suppose you could have a break before we'd need you in the evening again."
You looked at them trying to make sure no annoyed look crossed your face, "That's all good and well, but don't you have an assistant or butler to do these things for you?" You asked, leaning against the wall once again to relieve pressure on your legs.
Aiden grinned, "We conveniently fired them this morning, so it all lands on you."
Your mouth dropped open, "You set me up!"
Connor laughed, "Of course! Anything to spend more time with you (Y/n)."
You shook your head and turned on your heel heading through the living room and toward the door.
"Where are you going (Y/n)?" Aiden called.
"You told me about everything tomorrow, so I'm done with my duties. Was there something else you needed?" You ask over your shoulder as you turned to look at him through the doorway.
He grinned, "A goodnight kiss?"
You scowled, "Drop dead."
You slammed the door shut and ran back to your room.
