[Y/n] groggily opened the walk-in wardrobe, flicking on a light switch and stepping inside. She hummed as she looked at the beautiful items of clothing. As stunning as they were, she couldn't help but feel most of them might be a little... inappropriate. They were revealing and more formal than what [Y/n] was used to; certainly a culture shock, though she couldn't be too surprised as she'd technically just been plunged into the midst of a misogynistic, patriarchal society. She eventually found something quite simple - a black off-the-shoulder jumper and some denim trousers. She closed the doors of the wardrobe after changing and looked at herself in the mirror in the corner of her room. She couldn't deny that the items of clothing looked amazing - they were perhaps the most flattering things she'd ever worn.

She smiled softly and walked away from the mirror, deciding to check on the boys. After all, she didn't know how they were being fed anymore as the metal box had gone. She had a suspicion things were just being delivered straight to their rooms now but she wanted to make sure anyway.

[Y/n] made her way down the corridor, stopping in front of Aytsa's door. She knocked a couple of times and Aytsa opened it, peering up at her with his large, curious green eyes. She'd hardly seen the boys the day before as they'd all stayed in their rooms practically all day. She didn't mind, though. It gave her a break from her permanent role of 'babysitter'.

"Morning," Aytsa said quietly, tilting his head as he looked up at [Y/n].

"Good morning Aytsa," [Y/n] responded with a grin, "mind if I come in?" Aytsa paused for a moment before nodding his head, standing aside so [Y/n] could step into his room. His walls were dark grey - the room in general was pretty dark. On his bedside table sat a blue lava lamp that exuded a little light but the cool hue didn't spread far. Despite the dark, cold aesthetic of the room, it was actually cosy and warm. His bed had dove grey linen and was perfectly made (which surprised [Y/n] as Aytsa was the least tidy of the boys).

[Y/n] glanced over to a small metal desk in the corner of the room. On it sat some tools and some stationary. [Y/n] had no idea why Aytsa would need tools but she guessed she wasn't supposed to question it. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a certain metal box. She turned to look at it and walked over to it.

"O-Oh, I've already had mine, so it's empty," Aytsa stuttered quietly as he spotted [Y/n] moving towards the box. [Y/n] turned and gave him a smile.

"That's good, I'm glad," she grinned. Aytsa visibly relaxed at this. [Y/n] looked around the room once more before returning her gaze to Aytsa. "Don't hurt yourself with any of those," she said, pointing to the stationary and work-tools on his desk. Aytsa nodded quickly, his hands behind his back. "Promise?" [Y/n] encouraged.

"Promise," the small boy nodded. [Y/n] grinned and waved him goodbye, slipping out of the room. She noticed the door click shut soon after she left, suggesting she had failed to shut it properly herself. She continued along to Laion's room, knocking on his door like she had with Aytsa. The door swung open immediately and Laion grinned up at her, standing at the side so [Y/n] could see inside and/or go into his room.

"Good morning [Y/n]," Laion smiled. [Y/n] said a 'good morning' in return, awing at Laion's room. It was practically polar opposite to Aytsa's room. It was filled to the brim with plants and about 30 different filament bulbs hung from the ceiling like beautiful vines. His walls were painted a creamy gold and his floor fashioned a red terracotta tile that fell just short of the wall so a plant bed could border the room. Over the door climbed a sanguine purple wisteria. Crocus flowers grew at the base of it.

"It's amazing, isn't it?" Laion hummed, tilting his head slightly as he looked up at [Y/n] for approval. [Y/n] nodded her head, her hand delicately touching the bunched petals of a blue hydrangea.

"It's stunning," [Y/n] responded, going to sit on Laion's bed - a white painted bed with cream sheets and an emerald green throw - which was placed in the corner of the room. She seemed to sink into it alike to hers. They were so much better than the terrible beds they'd had before. "Have you found breakfast yet?" [Y/n] asked. She couldn't see the signature metal box anywhere in the room. Laion nodded.

"Behind the ivy," he said, pushing back some ivy that grew on the far wall in order to get to the metal box. "It looks nasty so I'm glad it was hidden," he laughed. [Y/n] laughed with him, taking another look around the room.

There seemed to be something about the room that made [Y/n] feel fresh and rejuvenated. It reminded her strongly of the park in her hometown. She remembered going there with Tara and Sally, sitting on the bench at half 6 in the morning when no one else was around. They'd watch the sunrise and discuss secrets, love interests, schoolwork - anything they could think of. [Y/n] didn't even care about how early the start was because it had become a tradition that she'd loved every second of.

'Home...' [Y/n] thought with a sigh. 'I wonder what Tara and Sally would think if they saw me now... they'd be disappointed, I'm sure...'

"[Y/n]?" Laion's voice broke her out of her miniature trance, snapping the aloof female back to reality.

"Ah, sorry," [Y/n] excused herself, smiling sheepishly. "I ought to go check on the other four. Take care of yourself and this room, Laion," [Y/n] grinned, walking back over to the door. Laion nodded determinedly, waving [Y/n] goodbye. Though [Y/n] didn't fail to miss the sag of his shoulders when she said she had to go. It made her feel a little guilty as she shut the door behind her.

[Y/n] continued along to the t-intersection before going left and walking to the end of the hall, intending to make her way up. The door at the far left read 'Mitzu' so [Y/n] knocked again.

"Who's there?" Mitzu's tired voice called back.

"[Y/n]," the [h/c] haired female responded, waiting patiently by the door. She heard a bit of shuffling on the other side of the door before the handle pulled down and Mitzu appeared. "Morning Mitzu. How was your sleep?"

"Alright," Mitzu hummed in response.

"Do you like your room?" [Y/n] questioned, trying to see behind the boy who was blocking the door. He nodded but didn't show her the room. "May I see?" He shook his head. She thought for a moment. "Have you eaten?" He nodded. "Oh... that's good, then," she smiled, tilting her head. "W-well, enjoy whatever it is you're doing..." she trailed off and, just like that, he shut the door. [Y/n] sighed, a strange pit forming in her stomach. 'You can't win them all I suppose,' she thought, walking down the corridor before she stopped in front of Draka's room.

She raised her hand to knock the door however she fell just short as the door swung open and a small brunette boy stood in the doorframe. "Oh, [Y/n], I was just gonna come and find you!" he said quickly before grabbing her wrist and pulling her into his room. "Look, look!" he grinned.

His room was once again totally different to the two previous rooms. The walls were colourful and looked like an art piece, reds, oranges and browns splattered in an abstract pattern that somewhat reminded [Y/n] of fire. His bed was in the centre of the back wall. The bedsheets were bright red and the bed itself was a dark pine. The room had a couple of warm lamps placed around it, as well as a blood-orange shaded lamp on Draka's bedside table. Like Aytsa, Draka had a desk in his room, however nothing sat atop it.

"It's lovely," [Y/n] smiled, ruffling the excited boy's hair.

"I had something else I wanted to show you too," Draka grinned excitedly. "Look!" And, with that, the little boy seemed to vanish. It took [Y/n] a moment to spot the little bat hanging upside down on the ceiling.

"Whoa, Draka, that's amazing! I'm so proud of you!" Of course, it would be [Y/n]'s natural response to freak out about the fact that a little boy had just transformed into a bat, but [Y/n] reminded herself that these weren't just little boys. That much was obvious by how much they grew and advanced each day.

The bat dropped off the ceiling and shifted back, grinning up at [Y/n] proudly. "Did you see? Did you see? I'm a proper vampire now! Mwuhaha!" Draka giggled, wrapping his arms around [Y/n]'s torso and hugging her. "And I gotcha!" [Y/n] giggled in response.

"Oh no~ the big scary vampire caught me!" [Y/n] played along, looking down at him with a grin. Draka looked back up at her and squeezed her a little. She had to admit, his grip was bloody strong. She was almost breathless.

"And I'm going to eat you!" Draka giggled, before letting her go. "Not really," he added with a goofy smile. "I don't eat people I love," he reassured, crossing his hands over his chest. [Y/n]'s heart warmed at this.

"Well that's a relief," [Y/n] joked, "and I love you too," she grinned, placing a kiss on the boy's forehead. Draka giggled at this before going over to sit on his bed. "Oh, I forgot to ask, have you found your food yet?" she asked, looking around the room. Draka nodded, pushing his bedside table to the side.

"They hid it," he observed with a pout, "but I won!" [Y/n] giggled at this, beginning to walk over to the door. Draka realised what she was doing and ran over to her, grabbing her arm. "Wait... can you stay a bit longer?"

[Y/n] gave him a sympathetic smile before shaking her head. "I really need to go and check on the others. Sorry Draka," she said softly. Draka shrugged and nodded, looking a little disheartened. [Y/n] wrapped her arms around him in one last hug before stepping back out of his room into the corridor. She walked along the corridor past where it branched off and over to the next room, Kori's room. She knocked on it once more.

The door creaked open. Kori's face appeared briefly before disappearing once more. [Y/n] pushed the door open the whole way, noticing Kori was hidden under his bed.

"Kori? Why are you hiding?" [Y/n] asked with a light laugh. The small boy's head appeared from under his bed and he shrugged. [Y/n] decided that, whilst he was being uncooperative, she'd look around his room.

Kori's room was similar to Aytsa's in colour and decoration. The colour scheme varied from dark browns to greys and blacks, giving it a warm yet dark feeling. Kori didn't have any lights on in his room, just a few candles on his bedside table. The flickering was slightly ominous, casting a yellowish-orange light on the walls. Kori had a desk in the far corner of his room on the opposite wall to his bed (which was decorated in grey and black linen). [Y/n] looked back to under his bed but Kori wasn't there. She walked over to it and peered under it - he'd moved. She looked behind her and he wasn't there either,

"Kori?" [Y/n] called out, suddenly feeling a little anxious. No response.

"Kori?"

There was a sudden thud at the far side of the room by the desk. Kori wasn't there, either. She turned around.

"What?" the small boy asked, directly behind her. [Y/n] jumped back dramatically, taking a moment to catch her breath.

"Gosh Kori, don't do that!" [Y/n] scolded lightly, shaking her head. Kori looked down before his blue gaze returned to her. She could just about see the candlelight dancing in his eyes. "Right... uh... I came to ask whether you found your food."

"I did," he nodded. He continued to stare at her.

"Well that's good, then..." she trailed off, walking back to his door. "I'll see you later," she smiled. Kori tilted his head but nodded. [Y/n] slipped out of the room and let out a small breath of relief when she shut the door. Had Kori intended to scare her? It was the perfect environment to; maybe he was just put in a strange mood by the character of the room?

[Y/n] shrugged and decided not to dwell on it, making her way over to the last' boy's room, Seishin. She knocked on his door and he opened it, glaring up at her.

"What do you want?" he asked coldly. [Y/n] sighed.

"A bit of respect would be nice," she responded levelly. Seishin shrugged before turning to go back into his room. "May I come in?"

"Why?" Seishin responded, his brow furrowed. "All you want to know is whether I've eaten. And, in response to your question, yes I have." [Y/n] frowned. What was with the rudeness today?

"Do you like your room?" she asked, though her voice was a little duller than usual. She was agitated.

"Does it matter?" Seishin responded. [Y/n] mentally facepalmed.

"Next time I see you you'd better treat me with a bit more respect," [Y/n] scolded, "because this behaviour is unacceptable," she frowned. Seishin shrugged.

"If I don't, it's not like you can do anything about it. I physically overpower you beyond your comprehension. If I wanted to I could kill you right now. You're lucky I don't," he shrugged. [Y/n] frowned at this.

"If you don't want to kill me when why are you behaving this way?"

The slam of Seishin's bedroom door was [Y/n]'s answer. She let out a long, frustrated groan in response, grumpily walking back to her room. She walked down the main corridor of the house. At the very end of the corridor there was a door [Y/n] hadn't bothered to explore; she knew, just from looking at it, that it was the entrance / exit of the house. This was further proved when she saw it creak open, revealing a certain brunette male.

"Hey old man," [Y/n] giggled, her previous anger fading away as she walked over to him. Nyais frowned at this but didn't say anything else. It was immediately apparent that something seemed to be troubling Nyais - there was no light in his eyes. Hell, he looked not too dissimilar to the Nyais she'd seen in the visions the day before.

"[Y/n]," he mumbled her name quietly, staring somewhere past her. "Why do you keep neglecting yourself?"

"What do you mean, Nyais?" [Y/n] asked quietly, confused. His tone was low and concerning. Neglecting herself? Was he still going on about the 'not eating' thing? 'If he brings up breakfast again I swear to god-! I haven't even been awake long enough to have breakfast.'

"You're not eating properly still. Your blood pressure is currently the lowest it's ever been. Are you aware of that, [Y/n]?" he asked monotonously. "Or... or maybe you're too calm here? You used to have more stress in your life with the other humans; studies and all that..." he trailed off. "Should I start giving you exams? Will that raise your blood pressure?"

"Whoa, chill out Nyais, I'm sure it'll go up when I eat—"

"You haven't been eating. That's the issue," Nyais growled out. "You should prioritise yourself. The kids are important but if you waste your possible second chance at life by not eating properly I'm gonna get really mad, [Y/n]." He took a single step forwards. "I don't want to have to force you to eat."

"This is ridiculous," [Y/n] responded, "where has all this come from? You were fine yesterday! What's brought this on, Nyais?" He didn't answer. "I'm not a bloody doll! I know you're in charge and all but if and when I eat is one of the last decisions I'm able to make myself. Why do you feel the need to take that away from me, too?" [Y/n] suddenly snapped, catching Nyais off guard a little.

"When I was at home..." [Y/n] began wistfully, "when I was with the people I loved, I had decisions. I had freedom. Sure, there was stress, but there was fun, too. I lived to a schedule but it was a fun one. My friends were there to support me through the ups and downs. But... I don't have any friends now, Nyais."

The hurt look on Nyais' face sent a pang of guilt through [Y/n] at her words but as it began to fade to anger and disappointment her guilt evaporated.

"I want to go home," she said finally. "I never wanted... this. I've tried so hard to fit in with your rules, your expectations... all of it. I've really tried, Nyais, but I just want to go home. I miss my friends... I miss my family."

Nyais stared at her in silence for a while, his eyes dark and holding little emotion.

"Is that what this is?" he asked coldly. "This whole time, is that what you've been doing? Trying to get me on your side? Trying to make me think you cared for me whilst you worked out how you were going to tell me you wanted out? You wanted me to feel sympathy for you?!" he snapped. "This whole time... You seemed so much like her that... that I—"

"I'm not your dead wife, Nyais!" came [Y/n]'s response. Both of them stared at one another for a while as they processed what one another had said. Eventually some clarity hit the situation, however both took it in different ways. "Shit, Nyais, I'm sorry, I didn't mean-"

"You're exactly like her," Nyais spat, taking a few steps closer to [Y/n] before roughly pinning her to the wall, "you and Leya... you're exactly the same. I thought you might be her perfect reincarnation - the version of her without those fatal flaws... but you're both exactly the same." His hand moved to [Y/n]'s throat and it took the young girl a moment to understand what was going on. It was only when her face was changing colour from the lack of air that she began to kick and thrash against him.

For a while, there was no change. Not until Nyais glanced behind him to see a terrified child in the doorway. [Y/n] mouthed his name as a plea for help and the grey haired boy darted forwards in attempt of peeling Nyais off her. Nyais dropped [Y/n], staring down at Kori with wide eyes.

"Kori... I..." he paused, looking over at [Y/n] who faded in and out of consciousness.

"[Y/n]," he whispered, his eyes wide, kneeling beside her and holding her up to him to give the struggling girl some extra support. "I'm... I'm so sorry..." Though his plea was unheard as [Y/n], gasping, sent a scowl in his direction. Kori appeared next to Nyais and took [Y/n] in his own hold, looking at the man coldly. Understanding that this would perhaps be a good time to leave, Nyais got to his feet.

The brunette male slowly walked away from the girl. [Y/n] saw him shutting the door behind him before she slipped out of consciousness entirely.
