Hereford Base; Bravo Squad Dorm

Derek POV

1 week after last chapter

You were sitting on the couch watching the Rams game with Mickey.

Mickey: What the fuck.

Derek: Dude the Rams suck

Mickey: How are they losing to the Jets.... The JETS.

Derek: The Jets are just built.

Mickey: The Jets are not meant to be good.

Derek: Hey you never know every time they play.

Mickey: Yea, talk about every other week they've played.

Derek: Ok, but still, theres different outcomes each week.

Mickey: Goff is such a bloke. Why did I put him in for this week.

Derek: Maybe you should lay off on fantasy, every team you bet on loses.

Mickey: I have my moments.

Derek: And then all that cash just goes straight to the gutter.

Speaker: Can all operators come to Briefing room 1 immediately.

Derek: Huh, wonder what that's all about.

Mickey: I don't know, but it doesn't involve me so I'm just gonna relax.

Derek: You gotta be curious somewhat, right?

Mickey: Yea I do, but whats our business to be there.

The rest of Bravo squad come out of their rooms.

Patch: What's that all about.

Mickey: Harry might have a mission for them or something.

Patch: Shouldn't we go and find out?

Derek: That's what I'm saying.

Mickey: Operators, not recruits.

Bulldog: Come on Mickey.

Mickey: Fine, we'll go snoop in on the conversation.

Derek: Bravo Squad, get into gear.

Bravo Squad: Yes sir.

You all went back into your rooms to get into gear, you looked at your wound and it was mostly healed, you were able to get the stitches removed a couple days ago. Your old outfit was ruined so you had to go back to your old military uniform.

You holstered your glock and grabbed your HK-416 and left your room with your squad waiting.

Bulldog: Been awhile since I saw you in that.

Derek: Still holds the same scars.

Mickey: We never leave them behind.

Derek: Lets just go figure out what this is all about.

You all left the dorm and headed towards briefing room 1. When you started to get closer you heard a video playing. There was lots of yelling and gunfire until the video stopped. Then Harry began to speak.

Harry: *barely audible* That video was recovered 3 days ago when Camp Leatherneck was retaken in Afghanistan. Casualties were high in that base and we got reports of a few who are missing and being held in a heavily fortified Taliban base.

Mickey: Didn't you say your sister was stationed at Camp Leatherneck?

Derek: I did.

Harry: *barely audible* I'm gonna need volunteers to do this mission. Getting back these soldiers and taking out this base will help the military push back the Taliban forces.

Ash: *barely audible* Who is missing exactly.

Harry: *barely audible* Privates Gree, Hilkins, and Redgy. There is also Corporals Heart and Westbrook. This mission is very dangerous, thats why its come to my decision to have volunteers for this since the odds are not in our favor.

You busted into the briefing room and all eyes were on you and your team.

Derek: I want to volunteer.

Harry: Derek, this meeting is for operators only.

Derek: I could give less of a damn if this meeting was for operators only, I'm volunteering to do this mission.

Mickey: He's not alone on this one either.

NATO: We've done these types of missions before.

Harry: You are all only recruits, you're asking for a death sentence. I need skilled operatives on this mission.

Derek: What makes you think we can't get this mission done.

Harry: You dont have the necessary training to take part in these missions.

Derek: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have taken out most of your most skilled operatives with a few scratches. Not to mention I took out one of your best CQC operators with an open wound in my shoulder.

Harry: You are not operators Derek.

You walked forward and stood over Harry.

Derek: My squad has experienced far worse than what any of your operators have gone through. You've seen it, so have they. We're doing this mission.

Harry: Recruit Locust, You-

Derek: It's Lieutenant, Six.

Zofia: Harry just let the magnets get themselves killed.

Harry: ...You're invading a Taliban base, you have 30 minutes until you leave.

You started to walk away with your squad.

Derek: You keep valuable intel away from me about my family again Harry, I wont be so nice next time.

You walked out of the briefing room and back to your dorm.

Mickey: Did we really just do that?

Patch: What, talk back to our CO? Ofcourse we did.

Bulldog: Can't forget about this guy *punches your shoulder* "It's Lieutenant, Six".

Derek: *laughs* Alright boys we leave in 30. Remember we're talking about a heavily fortified base.

NATO: In his words, its a "death sentence".

Derek: Dont listen to him, just stay calm and focused and we'll get this job done.

Mickey: You'll get to see your sis again aswell.

Derek: Yea, lets just hope she isn't suffering.

Bulldog: We're talking Taliban here.

Derek: That's why we're leaving no survivors.

TheDooo: What are you leaving no survivors of?

Derek: Going on a mission.

TheDooo: How long you gonna be gone for?

Derek: Dont know, could be a few hours, days, forever.

Mickey: We're hoping it isn't forever.

Grizzy: Lightening the moment, to help get your content back up, I made you a tiktok account.

Derek: Come again?

Grizzy: Made you a tiktok account.

Derek: Why?

Grizzy: Whats wrong with it?

Derek: I'm a masked content creator who went dark to join the military.

Grizzy: And?

Derek: You know what, fuck it. I'll just kill a guy and get banned.

Soup: Dark.

Derek: Oh please I'm sure if they're fine with 12 year olds wearing skimpy outfits they'll be fine with a bullet going into someone's head.

Bulldog: Boss times ticking we gotta go.

Derek: We'll hopefully be back, don't be breaking shit.

TheDooo: We won't.

You and Bravo Squad left the dorm and headed towards the helipad outside. You all got into the helicopter and the pilot soon flew off towards the place you didn't want to return to.

Mickey: So... a tiktok account.

Derek: I don't even know.

Robert: Aw, our LT. Gets to do dances and shit.

Derek: Never in my life am I going to dance.

NATO: You can still post sounds for others to use.

Derek: True, but thats mainly it.

Patch: Anyone else a bit nervous?

Derek: Its ok to be, just need you to calm down once we get close.

Hereford Base; Female lounge

IQ POV

You were in the females lounge pacing back and forth thinking about the mission.

IQ: What were they thinking.

Frost: I think they're pretty prepared for that kind of task.

IQ: They can get themselves killed.

Finka: You have to remember, he isn't wrong about either. They've been through more intense firefights than we have ever seen before.

IQ: That doesn't give them the experience for this.

Frost: What do you think they aren't ready for?

IQ: The firefights?

Finka: Washington D.C. 2 years ago they experienced lots of that.

IQ: Ok, but what about when they're cornered.

Valkyrie: Derek is a natural born leader, he's done it many times.

IQ: Ugh, or better yet, they run out of ammo and theres still a large group of Taliban.

Frost: Once again, Derek has done that before.

IQ: And he nearly died.

Kapkan: The kid has the spirit of a Russian Bear.

Hibana: What you boys doing here?

Thatcher: We can still hear you guys yellin' from across the base.

Tachanka: I'm only here for my vodka.

Finka: Its on the counter.

Tachanka: Dah *picks up bottle of vodka* Where have you been baby I've been worried sick.

Finka: Hey, you're real baby is right here.

Tachanka: Yea, I guess you aswell.

Frost: So what were you saying Maxim?

Kapkan: The kid has a fighting spirit.

IQ: A spirit thats gonna get him killed.

Kapkan: We all know what we signed up for, he makes sure that if it ever comes, he's taking out as many as he can with him.

IQ: I don't want that to happen.

Kapkan: If you think about it for one second, he's doing this for his last bit of family.

IQ: But, what family will he have if he gets himself killed.

Mute: If you found out anyone in your family was in danger, would you do the same?

IQ: Well, y-yea but-

Mute: That's all that needs to be heard. He knows what he's doing, you just have to trust him.

Afghanistan; 2 miles from Taliban Base

Derek POV

You were getting close to the base and the pilot began to talk through your headset.

Pilot: I'm gonna land you guys out from here. Can't risk getting too close.

Derek: Thats alright, thanks for the lift.

Pilot: Goodluck down there.

You took off your headset and the helicopter began to get low to the ground. You primed your HK-416 and jumped out from the little height the helicopter was hovering from. The rest of your squad joined you and the helicopter was gone. You only had a couple hours of daylight and all that was between you and that base was the desert.

Derek: Alright, we're 2 miles out and we're burning daylight. Let's get a move on Bravo.

Mickey: Give me one second *hits record* There we go.

Derek: Really.

Mickey: What, you said you needed content... Here it is.

Derek: Lets just get a move on.

You began to move through the desert until you started to see the base in the distance.

Derek: Mickey follow me up the hill, I want to get a little look at the base before we go in.

Mickey: On it.

You and Mickey both went up a hill, mickey with his marksman rifle and you with a pair of binoculars. You scanned the front entrance of the base.

Derek: Troop transports coming in now.

Mickey: I see it, alarms are all over the fuckin place aswell.

Derek: Yea, so if we go in loud, we'll be expecting alot of company.

Mickey: I see an Anti Air defense turret on that tower towards the center.

Derek: Got it, we'll need to get Robert to take that out when we get the chance to if we want to get an evac.

Mickey: Wait, whats coming out of that truck?

You looked through the binoculars and saw a group of white masks get out and walk up to a group of soldiers. You couldn't hear what they were saying but you could tell they were making a deal with eachother.

Derek: Thats enough looking, I don't want them waiting longer than they have to.

Mickey: Agreed.

Derek: Bravo squad look alive, we're going now.

Bulldog: Ooh rah.
