Miami, Florida

Derek POV

You sat in the center of the mall complex while Franklin stitched up John's bullet wound. You heard John wince at the needle and thread while he squeezed his thigh tightly.

Bulldog: Felt that one.

Patch: Just a couple more times and I'll be done. Luckily it was just small so we can still count John in this fight.

Derek: Good, are our supplies on their way?

Bulldog: Should be here soon, I Gave them an updated location after we laid out the plan. Prototypes are in there aswell.

Derek: I didn't say anything about a prototype?

Bulldog: Elena has been studying our battles and has made a newer set of gear for us, Harry told me that she described them from tests as "light, comfortable, and efficient"

Derek: And these are still the prototype?

Bulldog: Still in the early stages and she thought it'd be best to try them out here, the headgear works just fine but she wants to get more of a reading on the maneuverability and comfort of the suit.

Derek: Whatever gets us the advantage.

Bulldog: Damn straight.

You heard a set of feet run towards the three of you and noticed it was Sean.

Derek: Mickey, what we looking at in terms of offensive force.

Mickey: we've got a tight formation moving in on our position as we speak.

Derek: How many?

Mickey: No clue, NATO estimates around 150 Masks with 5 armorized vehicles.

Derek: Bulldog, how far did you say the airdrop was?

Bulldog: Not far. Maybe about 15 minutes?

Derek: Damn it, we're gonna need that airdrop now if they're coming in.

Mickey: We have about an hour to prep before they arrive, but that number can be false.

Derek: So we should get started now.

You turned on your comms

Derek: Demo do you copy.

Demo: *on comms* I'm here.

Derek: What condition is the Humvee in.

Demo: *on comms* You guys fucked this thing up, bullet holes in the glass, the engine luckily only got knicked, but the oil is leaking.

Derek: All I want to know is, can we push it, and how much ammo do we have for the M240 on top.

Demo: *on comms* Well no fucking shit we can push it, and we still have a good hundred rounds in the belt with two other ammo boxes ready to use.

Derek: Here's what I need you and the rest of 052 to do, set up a barricade around that Humvee.

Demo: *on comms* On it.

Derek: Once this airdrop arrives, get your asses on the roof fast.

Demo: *on comms* We'll be there. Hey cadidiots! Help me move this damn thing!

You turned off your comms and saw Bulldog silently talking to someone.

Bulldog: I'll let him know, Bulldog out.

Derek: Who was that?

Bulldog: Jäger, he said he's 5 klicks out. Said to throw a smoke grenade so he knows where to be.

Derek: Will do. Mickey, lets get to the roof and wait for this aridrop so we can get this shit taken care of.

Mickey: Lead the way.

You walked up a stairway that lead to a ladder. You climbed up the ladder and opened the hatch to the roof. You grabbed a smoke grenade from your vest and pulled the pin. You tossed it on the ground as you saw the plane in the distance.

As it got closer, a large bundle of three crates were dropped with a parachute deployed. It landed on the roof and you turned your comms on.

Derek: All members of Bravo Squad on the roof.

Demo: *on comms* Yes sir.

As the rest fo your squad came up to the roof, you popped the top of the crates and lifted them up.

Derek: *whistles* This the protype?

Bulldog: Yup, that's it.

Derek: Lets not wait too long, everyone get into gear.

You all put your select gear on with your last placement being your helmet. You put the helmet on and moved around in the gear to see if it felt good.

Mickey: With this helmet I feel like a dirt biker.

Demo: No kidding, also can't really tell if I feel comfortable or clunky.

Derek: No time for that, everyone get back into positions and prepare for this assault.

Everyone: Yessir!

You and Mickey were still on the roof as the rest of your squad went back down. Mickey took another look in a crate and started to laugh.

Derek: Whats so funny?

Mickey: Oh nothing, just this beautiful thing.

He pulled out a sniper rifle from the crate.

Mickey: A Barrett M82, .50 BMG cartridge with a 5 round box magazine carrying .50 Caliber rounds.

Derek: Dont get carried away with that, we can use it for the armored vehicles or heavily armored masks.

Mickey: This beaut will make tear through that armor without any problems. I'll keep it ready and when one of them show up, they'll be down for the count.

Derek: Good, beware of your surroundings aswell. If you need assistance contact me immediately.

Mickey: Yes sir, now you might wanna get down there, they're gonna need you.

Derek: Already planning on it.

Hereford Base; Gym

Mute POV

You were training the female recruits that Derek left. You had them work on their close quarters combat from the week prior to see if they had any improvement.

Mute: Kenzie your form is off today, what's going on?

Kenzie: Not exactly able to hold my form when I have to constantly try and dodge an incoming swing.

The rest of the girls stopped what they were doing.

Ava: How do you know what our forms are?

Mute: Uh yea, Colt gave me a small batch of notes for you guys, gave a brief explanation of your forms and what to expect.

Ava: You know our forms from notes?

Mute: He gave me a brief hands on look of how you guys looked aswell so I just memorized it.

Kenzie: Hm, well thats smart.

Kait: Speaking of which, where are they?

Mute: In Miami dealing with the shit show there.

Sam: Isnt that place filled with those black masks?

Mute: Mhm.

Kenzie: So why are they there with no backup?

Mute: They have another squad with them, but in order to keep casualties at a minimum, it was better to only send those two squads as a joint operation, they're the best of the best.

Kait: And if they're killed?

Mute: Well they had a good run.

Sam: A good run!? Why are you so laid back about this?

You turned around and looked outside the gym towards Hereford.

Mute: Because I know Colt can do it... I know THEY can do it.

Kenzie: With all due respect, what makes you say that?

Mute: May 12th, 2017. Camp Dwyer was attacked by the Taliban, Bravo Squad was the only squad defending the East Barricade. After losing two members of his squad, Colt went into a fit of rage and charged at the enemy head on. August 11th, 2018. Bravo Squad was sent back to the U.S. with the Marine Corps to help defend Washington D.C. no air support and BTR on their trail, they held out at a nearby mall complex with other squads and helped bring back an H.V.T. Next day they went out to take down stationed A.A. turrets and also split away from their platoon to rescue another H.V.T., they were too late... That upcoming day they were sent in to take back the House of Commerce and also played a key role in the retaking of the White House while calling off a "Hammer Down". 2 hours before that event, their helicopter was shot down and they had to fend for their life, they lost their Lieutenant. They lived because of a nuke detonating in the upper atmosphere causing all electronics to shut down. Their sights were useless and they had to evade falling debris. Recovering from injuries they set out to find any other squads, that's when they arrived at the White House and took the leading charge. 3 days later they would go to Manhattan, completely surrounded, Bravo Squad and other marines had to hold out until Delta Squad destroyed a jammer blocking all communications. Colt did a last minute call after the jammer was destroyed and called in a danger close at his position. He saved his men and those under his lead. All of those events happened in a week. They've been at it for 4 years.

Kenzie: Wow, they've gone through alot.

Mute: I said more then I should've, but you can only hope that they get the job done, one way or the other. Today's training is concluded. Get something to eat and get plenty of rest.

They packed up their things and were about to walk out the door before Kait stopped at the door and turned around.

Kait: Is that... why he asked us what we were fighting for?

Mute: Yes, Colt has gone through alot, he's experienced loss and frustration, but he always remembers and uses thag anger, sadness, and frustration to fuel his cause of making the world a better place. He wants you to think like that aswell. It makes you better and helps you focus on one goal.

Sam: And that goal is?

You looked at her and answered Vaguely.

Mute: Getting back up once you been knocked down.

Miami, Florida

Derek POV

You threw a grenade at incoming masks as a bullet grazed your left shoulder pad. You shot down two masks and watched four more get blown up by the grenade you threw.

Derek: Keep pushing them down!

Another bullet grazed your right shoulder pad as you turned and shot that mask down.

Derek: Loba, Gibby, watch that right flank! Bulldog don't let up on that turret!

An armored vehicle drove up with a heavily armored mask jumping out the back. Once he came into view you heard the thundering sound of the M82 ring throughout the firefight, with the armored mask falling to the ground missing an arm.

The large waves of masks started to dwindle and you realized that they were starting to retreat. You thought about it for a second before reloading your HK.

Derek: Now's our chance!

You hopped over the barricade and started to run towards the retreating masks.

Derek: Push Forward!

Everyone else moved up behind you shot at the retreating masks. Some got away while the rest were likes lambs to the slaughter. Once the bullets died down, John let out a loud warcry as he lifted his M249 in the air.

Bulldog: Yea! Don't fuck with the 052 and Preds motherfuckers!

Mirage: Dont mean to rain on your parade but what do we do now?

Derek: Restock on ammo and get ready for another offensive assault. Talon will spread his wings soon and show up, and I'm going to be waiting for him.
