Florence
Another sob escaped me as a pounding headache came my way. With my threat closed almost all the way up all I could do was just lay there and pray Remus or Eurus didn't freak out again.
Waking up was horrible. First it was the headaches, then the sneezes and coughs. I felt cold, freezing and then suddenly hot. Quick temperature changes, sneezes and coughs and long lasting headaches- I was definitely sick.
I hadn't regretted last night in the slightest but now I was having other thoughts..
I was in too much pain to explain to either men what was wrong. They seemingly had no clue what a cold was and completely lost their mind when I started crying from the pain and coughing hoarsely. They wouldn't stop yelling, asking what was wrong and screaming that I was dying.
Thankfully Eurus had calmed down as I curled into him. I couldn't tell whether or not he shut up because he was shocked and didn't know what to do or he realised I was crying because of how loud it was.
I heard another voice join in with the chorus of chaos just as things were calming down. I attempted to open my eyes to see who it was but a quick headache had me screwing my eyes shut impossibly hard.
"W-What's wrong with him?" Remus' voice filled the air leaving no room for the sweet silence I was hoping for.
"What happened to him?" Rian asked, his voice alone easing the pain in my head. His voice was gentle and quiet. It was exactly what I needed.
"He woke up with a sneeze then started crying! Out of nowhere!" Remus explained in a tone too loud and worried.
Everything went silent and I felt my body relax just a little. I practically melted into Eurus as the comfortable silence settled between us and my headache reduced itself to a full ache.
Eurus placed a hand on my head as I felt another press itself against my burning forehead. My eyes flew open and watched as Rian felt around my face with a look of concern I hadn't really seen on him. It sort of made my face burn up more. With a final tsk he retracted his hand and scowled at Remus and Eurus.
"He's sick you idiots." He grumbled out. He took one last look at me before heading off to get something.
"He's dying!?" Eurus screeched, right in my ear. And just like that this headache came back, full-speed and with determination to completely cripple me.
"He will be if you keep fucking screaming like that." Rian said, effectively shutting him up. I could tell by the way he tensed against my back that he was taken aback. He slowly tried to remove himself from me but I gripped onto him in fear that he was going to do something stupid.
"C-Cold.." I uttered out. It was a half-truth as I felt the goosebumps travel up my arms and a cold flush make it's away down my body. At that exact moment, with Eurus settled again, I felt a surge of heat spread from my back to my legs as I presumed Eurus pushed his super mighty dragon heat to the forefront.
"Better?" He asked softly. I responded by sinking even further into him and relished in the small comfort he provided.
Rian came over and handed me a tall glass of water. "We don't have any medicine so we'll have to make do." He huffed whilst taking a seat. With Eurus occupied and Remus hopefully at ease, there was silence. It was an almost perfect remedy for my headache but it still lingered and my sore throat was persistent.
I took a quick sip on the cool liquid and felt my throat ease up a bit. I still felt like utter shit.
"If you ask me it's what you deserve.." he muttered. I shot him a dirty look. How the hell did I deserve this?! This was torture.
"I didn't do anything to warrant this.." I shot back with a voice more scratchier than a smoker and a bale of hay combined.
"Oh? You didn't?" Eurus quickly chimed in, his tone filled with anticipation and tease. My face began to burn from the sudden silence so I dragged the blanket over my face and smothered myself.
"Come on, Florence! Don't hide we're only speaking truths!" Remus joined in. He was my only hope in putting an end to my suffering at their hands.
"W-Well, it isn't my fault I'm sick!" I protested from underneath the covers. It was getting hot under here quick.
"Then who's fault is it, huh?" Rian snickered, almost cackling like the witch he was.
"Yours! You egged me on and even made an entire battle plan for getting outside!" I yelled back, moving the blanket for some air before delving back in to cover my super hot face.
"Who's genius idea was it to go outside while it poured buckets?" Eurus snickered. I felt a small but noticeable blush creep up my neck as all three of them snorted. "S-Shut up! How was I supposed to know only I would get sick?" I whined. I then hid under the covers just to stop myself from showing how really embarrassed
Not only was I turning red but my head felt lighter and more fuzzy. All of them- laughing like that. It made something warm and full of light pool into my chest and settle with a great comfort.
"Awh don't worry, Florence. We'll be your personal heat packs." Rian joked as I felt an abnormal amount of heat press to the top of my head. "S-Screw you and your stupid dragon shit." I muttered, a little quieter. They of course caught it and all took mock offence.
"Florence! You're so insensitive!" Remus gasped while shaking me lightly by the shoulder. I sniffled from the cold and shivered from the warmth they were providing me with. It was a weird combination.
"You're all pieces of shi-"
"Now, now, Florence. You don't want your headache to get worse, do you?" Eurus laughed, shaking my slightly in his arms. He stopped immediately when I whined from the pain of the sudden motion.
This bickering went on for a minute or two more, with them all ganging up on me and teasing me about my stupid decision. If it was sooo stupid then they wouldn't have gone along with it, so ha!
"Ok, that's of making fun of Florence and his terrible decisions.." Remus laughed, settling their stupid little boy laughs. Honestly! How old were they!?
"Honestly! Only sober person there and he's blaming it on us.." Rian sighed with a final chuckle. I went to yell at him, or maybe insult him but he beat me to it.
"Well, I'm going to the shops. I originally planned to get stuff for breakfast but I guess I have to drop by the pharmacist now." He mumbled, taking the glass from the floor and placing it on the table by the lamp.
He gave me a look which I interpreted as a teasing glare but a minute or two of him 'glaring' told me something else. He looked like my mom when I was doing something stupid and wreckless.
"Remus, come on. We're going shopping." Rian said finally pointing his glare at Remus who was idly resting over the couch.
"I don't want to go shopping!" He argued but Rian was already dragging him out the door.
"Too bad. I need someone to carry the bags and push the trolley because I can't be bothered."
With a final door slam, the two man easily had slipped out and left me and Eurus alone. It didn't feel a single bit awkward as he soaked in the silence and I settled into his warmth. It was nice to relax and just feel comfortable with someone else. However, the silence basically beckoned me to ask a question. It always did.
"All good?" I asked quietly. He took awhile to answer but when he did it was in a form of a small sigh.
"Why wouldn't I be?" He asked whilst playing with my hair. This shouldn't feel as.. natural.
"They didn't even ask if you wanted to go shopping? That was a bit rude." I commented. I knew Rian had every right not to ask but he literally grabbed Remus and left in front of us.
Eurus chuckled for just a tiny bit. "You forget that we're enemies. We're only tolerating each other." He sighed.
"But Rian took Remus without-"
"Florence, if it's any assurance, I'm perfectly happy here with you." He cut me off. My face suddenly stopped being so hot and felt like puddy. My face muscles were straining to stop my smile. "O-Okay. I like it too."
We spent a few more minutes just lying about until he moved beneath me and leaned up to get something. He held the remote and offered it to me.
"We could watch the rest of that show?" He offered with his gaze fixed on me. I sniffled as my headache signalled it's return with a small but noticeable pang.
I took the remote and chucked it someplace else. "Or we could just sleep a little bit more?" I suggested. He smiled brightly before pulling my closer, his warmth spreading even further into my body.
"I'd like that..."
A smaller chapter for you guys! It's filled with lovely fluff so I hope that makes up for it!
Nothing too exciting this chapter, just the boys being.. dragons/boys!
