Florence

I blinked once, then twice, then again before completely rubbing my eyes raw.

Was I seeing things correctly? Was the sickness something more deadly and serious making me see things or were the pills Eurus had given me hallucinogens? I just be going crazy because the sight before me contradicted everything!

I mean sure, we had all hung out before but this was different. This required more than just putting up with each other. This demanded coordination, precision and ultimately, cooperation.

Was Eurus seriously helping Rian cook?

"Florenncee!" Remus called out, drawing my attention from the two as they stepped away from each other and flowed almost in an exact synchronisation.

I set my eyes on the male as he slapped the mask onto his head. I beamed a bright smile as he pushed away his black curls and stared down at me with nothing but excitement.

"Do you like it?" He asked whilst ripping the packaging apart and handing me the mask. I looked down at the fabric and then back at him. It was something so silly but I could tell it meant a lot to him. I thought his obsession with bunnies was cute, but this took it to another level.

"I like it a lot, Remus!" I assure him, sleeping on the mask and tilting my head slightly to show it off. He didn't say anything more but the wide smile he had on and the pure joy behind his eyes told me a lot.

We messed around for a bit, talking about the movies and shows we watched whilst fiddling with each other's masks. It was silly fun.

He always kept in mind the fact that I was still sick so when he got a little too hyped and he raised his voice he always stopped himself before he got too loud for me. It was sweet knowing he cared enough to take into account his actions.

Whilst we continued our childish games Rian announced he was finished and dished us up a plate, serving it to us right there on the beds.

I watched with hungry eyes as he handed me a plate topped with the fluffiest pancakes I had ever seen. There was an assortment of berries on top as well as a syrup gliding down and a even bacon and eggs! When he said he was making me breakfast I expected just a bowl of cereal but this was far better. If it weren't for my stuffy nose I probably would've salivated more over the smell but hey, you can't win them all.

"Rian!" I gasped and he jumped. "This looks so good!" I picked up a knife and fork and began eating, a little ashamed I couldn't taste it to its full extent because of my cold. I took my mask off my head just because it was getting in the way.

He closed his eyes and frowned slightly, a small pink forming on his cheeks. "I-It's just pancakes. Anyone can do them." He brushed off, taking a small bite of his own. It was kind of cute watching him get flustered about it.

Remus practically moaned as he ate his like a starved dog. I wasn't one to judge, however. I probably looked the same.

"Thish tastes better than the hotel pancakesh!" He claimed, a mouth full of berries and dough. I liked his side whilst laughing and trying not to choke on my own pancakes.

Eurus took a bite and his eyes lit up. He didn't voice his approval, however and opted to just simply take another bite and chew quietly. "It's... above average."

Rian scoffed. "Piss off! They're more than just 'above average'!"

Remus and I chew silently as we watched their squabble unfold. It was entertaining.

"I think you're full of yourself." Eurus laughed. "The only reason they're so fluffy is because I folded the mix properly."

Rian deadpanned. "You claimed that the spatula was hard on your wrist so you used the electric mixer. I had to do it properly," he snickered. Eurus opened his mouth, presumably to argue but shut it again.

"Plus, Remus practically had an orgasm eating them!"

Remus and Rian exchanged glances and there were a few seconds of apprehensive silence before we all erupted into hysterics. I had a hard time breathing as it is and adding my manic laughing did not help what so ever. I ended up leaning on Remus for support, our pancakes long forgotten as we came down from our highs and settled once more.

"Remus had an orgasm," I repeated as another round of laughing passed us.

When I first got the phone call from Rian at the mausoleum I expected it to go very differently. I never, never in a million years would've thought that not only would I have a sleepover with them but I would be here, laughing with all three of them without anyone trying to kill each other. It was bizarre!

After that we all finished our breakfast- well, brunch, silently and thanked Rian for the food. We set our plates aside and chatted for awhile, just about silly stuff. I liked this. This was nice. It was comforting.

"So, Florence, when are you going home?" Eurus asked, snapping me out of my temporary day dream of this lasting forever. "N-Not that I want you to leave or anything." He quickly added.

With a smile I just shrugged. "I'm not too sure. Probably sometime soon. Moms' probably too concerned by now that I haven't given her a ring."

Remus then got up and walked to the window and with a small sigh, turned back to face us. "I wanted to drive you home but..." Remus trailed off, again peering down through the window. I felt myself light up in hope only to be let down with the painful reminder of the reality that we had all been ignoring.

They were warlords who needed to get stuff done. I was a nobody. I was just wasting their time.

"The media is going berserk while the wait for the counil," Rian explained, glancing over to me. "The same council that waits to hear from us but more importantly, you." He appointed his gaze over to Eurus who quickly changed his focus to the roof.

"They've basically surrounded the hotel." Remus scoffed. I bit my lip to stop myself from showing my discomfort and pettiness. Just a few seconds ago we were playing around and shoving pancakes in each other's faces and now I was watching our perfectly constructed safe bubble fall apart.

"Hm, they'll probably start knocking on your door again." Rian snickered as he began collecting our plates. He reached for mine and I was reluctant to give it to him. "Florence?"

He gave me a incredulous look. I felt childish as I gripped onto my plate and the sudden realisation that I was not only hoping to stay but also having them stay here with me hit me like a train. I couldn't and wouldn't do this. I wasn't going to get in their way because I wanted to be selfish.

I let go off the plate and listened to the clatter of the dishes. Rian stayed put for awhile probably studying me. I was too busy trying to look away.

You're not going to act like this, Florence. You're not going to act like a child. You're not going to be selfish. Selfish. Selfish.

He eventually left and I was free to fidget with my fingers and distract myself. "Uhm, so how am I getting home?" I decided to just bite the bullet. This moment was over already, I should stop trying to deny it.

I was met with silence.

Oh god, I shouldn't be making my problems theirs.

"A-Actually I'm sure I could call my mom and get her to pick me up.." I quickly said before getting up and heading to the bathroom where my previous set of clothes were. I had hung them up but they were still a little damp.

I stepped out only to be greeted by Eurus who had a small frown. "Let me get a bag for those." He insisted, taking the clothes from my hands without any further questions. "I also don't want you walking through that mob alone. I'll get Samson to drive you home."

"Eurus I can't-"

"Please. Florence." He pleaded. I was tempted to say no to save them the hassle of having to deal with me even after I left.

"I agree with Eurus." Rian chimed in. I swear Eurus gave himself whiplash with how fast his head turned. "I don't exactly feel comfortable letting you down there, especially with all those people swarming about."

"Mm, too many people." Remus added quietly.

My eyes traveled between all three men as they seemingly all agreed on one thing, and that one thing was.. me.

"O-Ok.." I agreed, my face undoubtedly showing my bashfulness.

"Great, I'll go get a bag for these and tell Samson." Eurus chimed as he left the room through the side door.

"Did you want to take some of this?" Rian asked as he started cleaning the kitchen. I didn't even get to answer him before he started scooping bits into seperate containers. "I'll put some in a container."

I didn't protest for multiple reasons. One, I doubted that he'd stop if I asked him and, two, his cooking was amazing. It gave me something to snack on later.

I began to pack up my stuff and attempted to move the mattresses but much to my embarrassment I couldn't lift it for more than a minute. So, I resorted to folding the blankets and setting them aside. I guess it was my inner hotel employee jumping out. Once I had everything ready- which wasn't much- I left my stuff by the door and approached Remus who had been huddled in a corner with a somber expression.

"Everything alright?" I asked as I watched him advert his gaze. I instinctively reached out to grab his hand but with a clear reminder of last night I withheld.

"You forgot this," he muttered, handing me my mask. I blushed as I took it and sheepishly put it back on my head.

"I was wondering where that went. Thank you." I bit out as a small thread of guilt tugged at my heart. I wasn't sure if that was what had been bothering him but I couldn't help but feel bad.

"Uh, Florence," he tugged on my sleeve just as I craned my neck towards Eurus. "Can I ask you something?"

He had gotten closer in the mere seconds I had looked away. His eyes spoke more words this his mouth did, leaning in as if he was about to spill a secret.

I nodded slowly as my cheeks bloomed with colour. "I was wondering if you'd let me, uhhh.." he looked away quickly, mumbling something to himself.

"I-I just wanted to know... maybe one day- actually sometime relatively soon.. if you would.. ah shit.." he rambled on as he began fidgeting with the curious rings on his hand.

"Remus? What is it?" I urged as my excitement got the better of me. It was a weird feeling. Feeling giddy over something that he hasn't even got out yet, something I didn't even know if it was what I wanted to hear.

"Will you let me take you out?"

My heart gave a small jump and my arms felt all tingly. I wasn't even sure if we had the same idea in our head but the question was exhilarating to here. The question was like a canon that had sent me barreling towards the sky. Similar to honey, a warm feeling coated my insides as I reeled myself back in from the small high I had just experienced.

'Are you asking me out on a date?" was one of the loudest things blaring in my head at the time but I quickly shot out my answer before I could embarrass myself further.

"Yes." I said stiffly. "I-I would like that,"

His deep blue eyes brightened considerably and his features softened. Then the happiest smile I had ever seen him wear beamed down at me. Although his relief and joy was not audible it was certainly there, like a welcoming cloud that surrounded him.

"I-It would have to be after you recover, of course." He stammered. I nodded. The honey-like feeling was too overwhelming to voice.

I turned to face Eurus and then, only then, did I realise how hot my face was. Rian could probably cook an egg on it if he wanted to.

"You ready?" He asked and even in my mini daze I had noticed something off. He had asked one question but his voice held the quizzical tone for two.

"Y-Yeah, I am." I said quickly before hurrying and grabbing my stuff. He held the door open for me with a small frown, his eyes flicking up and down. Was he trying to read me?

"Uh, anyways, thank you guys for this. It turned out to be exactly what I needed." I beamed. "We're doing this again, okay?"

"Sure, just don't get sick again, alright? You whine a lot." Rian snickered as he handed me two containers. I thanked him silently, his eyes lingering on mine for a few seconds longer.

"Until then?" Remus sounded, his smile never dulling.

"Until then." I confirmed. With a final wave I backed into Eurus' hotel room. He softly closed the door behind us then turned to face me. "Thank you, Florence. Truly." He said quietly.

"Oh it's fine, really!" I brushed off, juggling the assortment of items in my hand.

"No really. Without you I would've just left and not... uhhh... I wouldn't have..." he trailed off as he thought for the right words.

"Given this a second chance?" I tried.

"Yeah.... that."

I snorted. He didn't even sound certain about that. All that was important right now was the likelihood of him staying was outweighing the possibility of him going home.

"Thank you, Florence." He repeated again. His eyes were always intense but right now his green orbs looked.... peaceful. He set out his hand with an almost pleading look. I ghosted my hand over his but was quick to take it back when I heard a noise.

"You ready to go?" Samson cleared his throat, alerting both of us. My face had finally cooled down only to be set alight again.

"Yes, I am." I bit out, giving Eurus one last look before walking over to Samson who was idly spinning a set of keys. We headed for the door and listened closely for any voices. Luckily there were none.

"See you later, Eurus!" I called out as we left. I barely got to hear what he said before Samson promptly shut the door and dragged me along.

"Have fun?" He asked with a teasing tone. I decided to ignore it and fiddle with lid of my container. Then I got caught up in a whirlwind of thoughts mainly centred around Remus and our future date.

"Fuck yeah." I muttered, a content smile most undoubtedly on my lips.
