Remus

After Florence left we were quick to disperse. We didn't talk much, well, Eurus and I naturally ignored each other but, solely on Rian, there was some conversation. Eurus and Rian talked a lot which ticked me off while I skulked around the hotel room and collected my minimal items.

It had bothered me a lot when we had to leave Florence all alone with Eurus but it bothered me even more when he hung out with Rian in the kitchen. It just didn't sit right with me.

Anyways, now I was back in Midas' lavish estate and being endlessly annoyed by my cousins antics. I decided I should tell him about... well Florence.

You what?" Midas gasped as he added a dramatic flare with a light hand over his chest.

"I-I, err... asked him if it were okay to take him out." I responded weakly, a small blush inking my cheeks. I tried skipping on my steely mask but the fluttering feeling in my chest was making it pretty hard.

"Please for the love of everything there is, tell me you did not word it like that when you asked him!" He groaned, hurriedly sitting next to me on the couch. His eyes were wide with anticipation as I frowned deeply and shifted my gaze.

"I-It went something like that.." I mumbled.

The shifter groaned so loud you'd think the mountain would shake. A few maids looked his way but one quick glare from me and they ran scurrying.

"You make it sound like you're going to put a hit on him!" He laughed although I certainly did not find it funny. I've never had a single bad thought about Florence and I intended to keep it that way.

"It's funny, y'know.." he stretched before getting up again and making his way to the bar. Jesus this man didn't stay still.

"What is?"

He paused for a second, eyeing me up and down before beginning his cocktail. "Originally I thought... well I thought him and Eurus were..." He purposefully trailed off.

I was suddenly injected with a a very dense and poisonous cloud of dark thoughts that swirled and spiralled out of control and threatened me with sinister temptations. For the first time in awhile I felt my hand buzz with an urge to maim.

"Florence and Eurus were what?" I urged further, my voice slipping a few octaves lower as I shot up like a rocket.

Midas clearly noticed my new demeanour and his care-free attitude dropped. "Jesus, Remi, calm down-"

"Don't tell me to calm down, Midas and never fucking call me that." I warned. He took a step back as I advanced.

"You don't want a repeat of that night, Remus, do you?" He bit out quickly and I halted almost instantly. Bad memories of the night he was referring to invaded my thoughts and just like that my building anger was snuffed out. The small buzz in my arm was killed off instantly.

"Great, now that you're thinking more rationally we can plan out this date of yours." Midas cautiously turned around and quickly finished his drink before urging me to sit down.

"To be frank, cuz, I've never understood why you hate Eurus so. I get the whole 'mutually assured hatred' from the tribe but you seem to hate him more than most." He noted and I could've sworn he was purposefully trying to emulate Eurus' condescending and snooty tone.

I had never told Midas the truth. By truth I meant the real reason I held such hatred towards him. After awhile of people ignoring me I learnt that no one would believe me. That my own family didn't care enough for me to actually take action and listen to their blood.

"He ruins people." I started slowly although I'd rather much get this over with. "He's a leech. He hangs onto people and sucks them dry. A parasite. A disease."

Midas stared wide eyed. He didn't speak or try and defend him, instead he remained silent. Maybe he was even truly listening to me.

"Eurus Meade is like shit beneath my shoe." I said with a snarl. "For all I care, he can rot up in his fancy marble palace."

I have Midas one last dark look just to really enforce my statement. I did have to admit, I was one to keep to myself and simply take someone's life rather than talking it out so it was no surprise to see Midas so... off put.

Midas was one I had to admire. He had gotten deeply involved with Eurus and somehow walked out without getting tangled in his webs. However, that didn't stop me feeling the slightest bit smug from seeing him so shaken up by me.

"Anyways, still want to help me plan out this date? I have a place in mind, but that's it." I brushed off, not bothering for an answer before I began telling him about my plans.

**

After Samson had dropped me off I hurriedly dropped off my stuff and called Josh. Mom, as it turned out, had been called into a shift so I didn't spent all that much time at home before Josh pulled up and we drove off to his house.

I was still sick but my excitement and anxiousness was acting as a temporary cure.

"So, wanna tell me where you've been for the past few days?" He asked with a sly smirk that always suggested something. I laughed and hit his shoulder. It was fun to be messing around with Josh, especially when there wasn't a crushing pressure to act a certain way.

"Sorry Joshy, I don't kiss and tell." I said with a small wink and he gasped loudly. We slowed for a red light and he turned towards me.

"So you're telling me you that you disappeared for a few days, without a call mind you, and then call me, your best friend, to come pick you up for seemingly no reason?" He eyed me up and down as if the answer to his question was somewhere plastered on my body.

I bit my lip and quickly went over my head if this was a good idea. In theory, sure, in practice? Maybe not so much. "Well?" He urged with an expectant look.

"I, uhh, need your help." I stated plainly. He deadpanned then quickly took hold of the wheel again as the lights turned green.

"Yes, I already gathered that, Baker." He teased. I frowned but didn't have time to take him up on the nickname.

"I uhh, sort of got asked out."

I didn't have time to think as we pulled into a small street and he suddenly hit the brakes with a loud squeal.

"Jesus Christ, Josh! Talk about a road hazard."

"oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god." He squealed as we began moving again, this time as Josh bounced up and down in his seat.

"You have to tell me everything-" he stopped himself short and shot me a nervous glance. "I-I mean whatever you feel comfortable with." He ended with a nervous chuckle. I gave him a appreciative smile and he grinned.

"Oh my god, we have to go shopping! Like, right now!" He said quickly, taking a sharp right. I jolted in my seat as my world turned. This boy and his driving..

"W-Well I came for dating advice, but yeah! We need to go shopping!" I added to the now bubbling excitement. Suddenly, the sunroof above us started opening and I got a bad feeling he was going to do something stupid.

And just like that, he quickly unbuckled himself and stood up, his head poking out the sunroof and his hands still on the wheel.

"My boys finally getting layed toniiiiiiiiiiight!" He hollered as loud as he could as both panic and a crushing embarrassment took hold of me.

"J-Josh-!"

"Wait, is it tonight?" He asked me and I paused, unsure.

Was it common for dragon shifters to not give dates? Because it certainly fucking seemed like it. I gave him an unsure look and he stuck his head out again.

"Okay maybe not tonight but definitely some time sooooooon!!" He said all in one breath.

He finally came down with his hair all crazed from the wind. He certainly looked deranged.

"You're crazy!" I gasped.

He grinned wickedly. "Wait till you see me when we start shopping. You're going to look so sexy when we're done!"

Jesus. This guy wasn't sane.

Whew, okay, a shorter chapter but we got a fun and cute moment between Josh and Florence and a sort of insight to Remus and Eurus' past together!

Thoughts and Predictions are always welcomed? What do y'all think went down between Remus and Eurus? But suspish...
