Fie Wrights P. O. V

My feet make a muted thudding noise as I head into the vibrant kitchen. An almost turquoise blue is splashed along all the walls of the kitchen, fitted with light wooden accents and a mosaic multi coloured tiled wall. I catch sight of my mum standing attentive at the stove as she stirs the sauce bubbling away in the pot while my father dotingly frets about her, hands poised in the air ready to haul her away from the menacing flames emitting from the stove.

It's not like my dad's worry is at all displaced since my mum's nearly burned the entirety of the house down around three times. If you look close enough, you'll be able to catch sight the underside of the charred wooden cabinets; the flames sometimes reaching too high up for anyone's liking yet surprisingly it only happens when mum's cooking.

Clearing my throat, the sound travels around the small room till my mum turns around and gives me a look that I can only describe as distaste. Frowning, she gives me a once over before shaking her head and turning back to the stove once more. My dad looks over at me and smiles as he takes a further glance at me, wondering why my mum would have a reaction like that till he assesses my clothes, he rolls his eyes at my mothers reaction as I peer down at my own attire; Consisting of an overly baggy grey t- shirt with the printed words faded from the overuse of it matched with a hoodie thrown on top, black sweatpants which- surprise surprise- are baggy as well to match and my feet covered in blue and white stripped fluffy socks.

My mum always seems to disapprove of my incredibly comfortable attire every time she sees me wearing it which is every time I set foot in the house. It's not like I'm going to be dressed up in my finest clothes just to lounge around the house, sadly my mother doesn't understand the concept as she throws my dad a pointed look who raises his own hands in the air.

"Mum, stop worrying about my clothes." I grumble as I make my way over to the kitchen island that's surrounded by bar stools. Hopping up onto one, I place my elbows on the surface as I grab an apple laying in a bowl and bite into it.

"Honestly Amelia, let the girl do as she pleases." My father says as he waves a hand in the air, gently pushing my mother to sit on the stools with me as he takes my mum's position of head chef.

"No Fredrick," she says with further emphasis on his name, "You should always be looking your best honey." Mum coos as she grabs onto my puffy cheeks filled with Apple as I give her a weird look. "You could find your mate at any time love, remember that." She says as she lets go of my cheeks and wags a finger in front of my face instead.

Raising a brow, I lift my hands and purposely make a display of looking around the kitchen before turning to her, "Its not like he's going to show up in our kitchen." I say pointedly to which she merely waves a hand in the air to dismiss my words.

"You never know, he just might." My mother says ominously while I snort, "Well he better haul ass and get here," I mutter under my breath. My father merely smiles from the sidelines as he grabs plates and dishes our food up while I go to bring glasses and drinks for all of us. It doesn't take long before we're all tucking into our meal and talking aimlessly here and there, that is till my father disrupts my conversation with my mother.

"The advisory meeting will be held tomorrow Fie, I expect you to be there bright and early." The groan that escapes me is abrupt as my parents eye me with amused expressions, knowing damn well I hate waking up earlier than my usual timings, "I'd ask you to debrief me but I already know the answer," I reply with pursed lips to which my father nods his head solemnly. With a sigh, I nod my head and give myself a blaring reminder to fix my alarm on my phone before going to bed tonight so that I'm up early enough.

The rest of the dinner goes by fast and both my parents notice my change in mood, especially from when I'd left to go visit our Luna, Aria. When I mention to my mum to make sure to pack some left overs for Tyrell, she's over the moon at hearing the poor man is somewhat enthusiastic for something as she gets up and packs a plastic dish full of food for him then and there.

The night isn't eventful either as I fall asleep to the sound of an ongoing storm, the thunder pulling me into a deep sleep which can only be roused by an even louder deafening sound of my phones alarm. When I wake up the following morning, the air is frigid and my entire body is shivering from the cold as I pull my comforter tighter around me. Glancing at the clock, my already damp mood grows damper as I notice I only have two minutes before my alarm was supposed to go off. Reaching out a shivering arm, I turn my alarm off on my phone and lay there for the next few minutes before deciding to hop into a hot shower so that I can be warmed up quicker.

Settling on a semi casual outfit due to having my meeting today, I already know dad's probably going to drag me around with him for the rest of it and I need to be dressed appropriately especially when my counter part will be roaming around in a damn robe the entire day.

Heading downstairs, I only have one goal in mind and that's a huge mug of tea which will help me fully revive for the rest of the day. The last thing on my mind being breakfast since I can never really stomach it when I wake up at an hour I find unpleasant. Eating breakfast makes me feel nauseous if eaten earlier than usual so I slump into the kitchen where I find a mug being deposited into my hands almost immediately. My shoulders drop in relief as the warm soothing feel of the cup helps to unfreeze my numb fingers as I greet my parents with a polite yet albeit sleepy smile.

"You should have some breakfast." My father insists like he always does and in true tradition, I raise my tea as an indicator that this is more than enough breakfast for me. My father sighs but doesn't pursue it as he lets me sip my tea in peace before he announces that we should head on our way to the meeting that's located in one of the conference rooms in the pack house. I keep my head down the entire way there, only chatting to my dad here and there and giving a few of my inputs which only quieten down when we're standing outside of the room the meeting is to be held in.

Greeting the other two members of the council with a polite smile, they return it by placing an endearing hand on my head before giving me a little pat and telling me to go stand with Ezra, the other person in training. My eyes raise and immediately connect with jubilant brown ones as the edges of his eyes crinkly together, the blatant excitement on his face as clear as day. The rest of the council talks together in hushed voices as I make my way over to the boy. His tall lanky stature leaning against the wall as he gives me a wink in greeting. I raise my own eyebrow in question as I take in his attire of a pair of jeans and a random white shirt with a black hoodie thrown on top.

"You do know this is a meeting deciding the fate of our Luna right?" I question as Ezra runs a hand through his floppy brown hair, pushing it out of his eyes as he gives me a wide grin.

"Of course I know that. I am training to be an advisor after all." He says with a blatant scoff as he raises his hands, his way of stating the obvious.

"Then tell me why-. No." I stop him almost immediately as his lips part, no doubt to belt out the lyrics to a particular song that's been running through my brain for the better part of this week since he's been singing it constantly. My try and fail severely to hide my own smile as his lips drop into a pout, letting me continue, "Why are you dressed so casual? You know we have dress codes right?" I question in amusement to which he shrugs.

"Technically the dress codes are only applicable for the council, I'm only a trainee so I think I'm safe. Besides, we're in our pack; I'd look like an idiot doing normal day to day things while being dressed like I'm going to so meeting to meet with the Head Council themselves. No offence." He ends as he throws me and my outfit a look to which I merely let out a laugh.

"You have a point." I mumble just as I'm ushered into the meeting room with my father, everyone going to take a seat at the long table but not sitting down in respect for the Alpha to come first. I pull my seat out and place my hands on the back of it, glancing at the clock hanging on the wall and noting how Tyrell is ten minutes late. The man is usually on time.

Finally after another three minutes go by, the sound of rushed footsteps reach us as the Alpha storms into the room a second later, hair haphazard and clinging to his forehead from either water or sweat as his chest heaves up and down from the exertion. His grey eyes that we share are wild and slightly lost as they dart around the room before finally landing on me. Tyrell nods at me before he takes a seat at the head of the table, hastily motioning for us to do the same as he lights out a sigh, calming down, "Sorry about the wait. I went for a swim to calm my mind. Lost track of time." He mumbles the last part in a far off voice, shaking his head to get into momentum as my father clasps him on the shoulder.

"There's no need to apologise son. You're here now and that's all that matters." My father and Alpha Tyrell share a curt nod before one of the advisors speaks up.

"We should discuss the issue at hand. The best course of dealing." I practically flinch at his words but manage to maintain a poised facial expression as my grip on the chair's handle increases tenfold. I'm sure he doesn't mean it in that way but my mind takes it in the harshest way possible, almost as if he's saying that our Luna is disposable.

"I've asked in previous meetings and I'll ask again, is there any way possible for us to find a cure? Any hint at what's going on at the very least? Anything to make her come back?" He tries his best to hide it, but the frustration in Tyrell's voice is clear as day while everyone purses their lips in thought. Everyone's asked the question a thousand times but it's always the same answer.

We can only wait and hope.

Clearly that's all a load of crap since Aria's condition is worsening by the day. Waiting hasn't done shit.

"We could always contact a witch? See if the Luna has befallen some kind of spell? Maybe an encounter with one of them?" The same advisor who spoke up the first time voices his thoughts aloud once more as Tyrell shakes his head at once.

"We already did call a witch. She said she couldn't locate anything wrong with her. Whatever it is, it's too deeply embedded. Even if a witch did curse her, not even that witch would be able to undo it." Tyrell announces as I slump further down into my seat, this entire situation just coming up with one dead end after another.

Everyone around the room throws different ideas here and there. Each and every one of them being dismissed by someone else with logical reasoning as to how it won't work or why it won't. We lapse into silence and I briefly note how we've been at it since an hour, Tyrell and his wolf slowly starting to get edgy due to being away from their sick mate for so long.

The silence gets cut in two by a throat being cleared. Everyone's eyes dart to the source of the noise as Ezra flushes a bright red, flushing at the attention of everyone as he raises a hand to rub sheepishly at the back of his neck. "Well we could always ask the mages. They can cure anything." The longer everyone stares at him, the brighter his face gets till he merely looks down into his lap.

"That's one idea." My father says after the long pause of stunned silence.

"We should do it." Comes Alpha Tyrell's voice in an instant as everyone's eyes dart to him, our eyes boring into the man but unlike Ezra, he merely stares back with a steely gaze.

"Alpha as much as I love my son, he can sometimes be an idiot. These are one of those moments." Ezra's father, the last advisor of the council speaks up as he glares at his son.

"He speaks the truth does he not?" Questions Tyrell while Ezra's father, Marcus, nods immediately, "He does but the mages are under the hand of the great king himself. He barely allows for anyone to enter his court let alone help someone that's not even a part of his realm."

My father immediately cuts in, backing Marcus up as he speaks up, "He speaks the truth. The trek there is long and potentially hazardous. Whosever goes could even be killed before getting the chance to seek an audience with the King."

Alpha Tyrell rubs both his hands down his weary face as his shoulders slumps, every part of his body showing signs of defeat as he swallows roughly. Nodding, he goes to speak up. No doubt to dismiss the plan.

"Th-,"

"I'll go." This time all eyes land on me, especially my father's own wide and disbelieving eyes as he practically chokes at the thought.

"What?" He gasps out as I sigh.

"I'll go to see the King. To the Realm of Tenebris." I simply say once more as Ezra nods animatedly besides me, "Yeah and I'll join Fie. We have to have a test to be advisors anyways. This can be our test." He says excitedly. No one tries to inform the young man that the tests for trainee advisors is well, an advisory test rather than an adventurous one.

"It's far too dangerous for you two to go alone. You'll be killed before you can even set foot on the outskirts of the realm." My father interjects but everyone else mulls over our words. My eyes glance to Tyrell's and the hope in his eyes makes me make up my mind then and there.

"A few warriors could join us. It won't hurt to try. I'd rather die trying than stand by and let Aria-," my voice cracks in the middle but I clear my throat and mentally give my brain a shake, "- let Aria get into an even worser state."

Marcus is the first one to slowly nod his head as he glances from me and Ezra and then back to Tyrell, "I could go with them. They'll fare better with a member of the Advisory Council. A few warriors good join us and I'm sure we won't attract any harm to us." My father doesn't say anything and even though I can tell he's displeased at the thought of me going, his advisory duties are reasoning with him that's it's a good a plan as any.

"Fie, are you sure?" Alpha Tyrell asks me, our eyes interlocking as an unspoken promise travels between us.

"I'm positive. With your permission, we'll head at first light tomorrow." The Alpha glances at the rest of the members in the room, each one nodding their head along with my reluctant father. "Permission granted. Marcus will go with you and Ezra along with two of our warriors." I nod my head as everyone stands up, the meeting adjourned with a heavy task resting on my shoulders. All of us file out of the room just as my father walks up besides me.

"I'm proud of you." Is all he whispers to me as he passes by me, my own smile growing wider at his words even when I know I'm going to get an earful back at home for speaking so abruptly without consulting my father first. He'll eventually let it slide since I did what I was meant to, advice a certain plan of action. He can't obviously hold that against me.

A warm hand is placed on my shoulder as I feel myself being turned around, coming face to face with Tyrell.

"I just wanted to say thank you. It's out of your line of duty as a trainee but honestly, thank you so much." He mumbles as he pulls me into a hug. My own arms wrap around his shoulders as he lifts me up from the ground slightly. The laugh escaping from my lips causing him to pull back and grin at me.

"I'll try my best to come back with some good news." I say to him solemnly as he nods, his eyes actually alight after a long time as he places me back on the floor.

"That's all I ask." He whispers as we head in the direction the rest of the members wandered off to.

"Oh," I mumble as I remember the container of food I brought for him, lugging the man into the kitchen as I pass Tyrell the container that was lying in the fridge from where I placed it before the meeting.

"Is this what I think it is?" He asks with a raised brow as he removes the lid and glances at the contents inside. At my nod, he smirks and quickly grabs a plate.

"This day just keeps getting better and better." I merely smile at his antics as I repress a sigh.

Looks like it'll be another early morning for me tomorrow as well.
