Fie Wright's P. O. V
I didn't think this would be starting up so soon. I thought I had more time before this struck. I, for one, definitely did not see this coming since everything had settled down so nicely. Not only with me falling into a simple, yet albeit, amazing routine of waking up to my mate every day who'd greet me with a cup of tea and a tender expression on his face before I had to head out into the huge entirety of the castle to get on with my duty. Hours would go by and then I'd giddily make my way back to the room just waiting to sync into my mate's comforting embrace which would never disappoint. Not once.
Today started off the same, relatively I should say what with the only issue being that I barely had any time to see Malleus since he was in such a rush to get to his Kingly duties as something important had come up. Luckily I had one of the best mates in the Kingdom since he didn't want to leave without waking me up and seeing to it himself that I got my daily dose of caffeine that came in the shape and form of my steaming mug of tea.
I thought that was the only issue I'd be facing throughout the day and yet the only few seconds I could spend with Malleus made me push harder so that I could complete my work, hoping against hope that Asha would let me go just a little earlier than usual. I already had it planned out, me rushing out and finding Malleus only to surprise him and try to coax him back to our little room where I could just make him let loose with whatever I could occupy him with.
Little did I know my plans would all be messed up because someone didn't know how to keep their shit together.
That someone being me.

"It's oddly eerie out today." I mumble to no one in particular as I peer out of the window, leaning forward while clasping onto the ledge so as to not topple head first out of it. The howling wind thunders in my ear as droplets of rain splatters against my face, being swiped away by the battering of air and then another assault of droplets from the groaning skies above. A chill racks it's away throughout my body as I lean backwards, not liking the roar of thunder that causes me to inconspicuously jump a slight inch off of the ground.
"That's what Ezra said just an hour ago." Asha muses from somewhere behind me, nestled comfortably in her cozy office as the fire roars in its hearth of the fireplace.
I hum in acknowledgement as I retreat further into the room, wearily glancing at the ominously dark sky making it appear as if it's dwelling late into the night when in reality it's only near about two in the afternoon. Turning around, I walk back over to my the chair that I had designated as mine when I realised I'd be spending quite a few of my days here or at least until other opportunities came within sight of all of this.
"Does this happen a lot? It rains non stop, yes, but I've never seen Tenebris like this before." I voice out. Granted it hasn't even been a whole week since I've stepped foot into this odd little realm, and hence, the weather patters aren't all that familiar to me. Except that I know chances of sunshine are rather rare here. The action of Asha sitting up in her chair catches my attention along with the way she eyes me wearing out of the corner of her vision. My own raised eyebrow is an unspoken question that I send her in return as she adjusts herself some more in the high backed chair.
"I wouldn't say it's an event that happens every other day but more like it only happens, well when-," the woman cuts herself off as she purses her lips and then shrugs her dainty shoulders at me, "I'd rather you let the King explain. It's a bit technical and hard to understand. The King is quite a good teacher from what I've heard so he'll let you know himself." She avoids the question almost completely but I begrudgingly let it go. Deciding Malleus would be the perfect person to ask, it'll even give me an excuse to be around him more. Not that I need an excuse considering he is my mate.
Nodding my head at her in confirmation, I face my desk once more and flip through the book lying smack dab in front of me. Flicking through the pages gently of the ageing book, I assess the work I have left and am delighted to see it's not much at all. Just half a page which will take seconds to complete. Glancing up at the wall, I smile when I take note of the fact that I, luckily, have an hour left which means I can get off of work early. Just as I avert my eyes from the clock on the wall to the pages in front of me do I start to feel it.
It's slow at first, a mere chill that racks down my back like it does when one thinks of something rather unsettling. The chill is followed by goosebumps taken over every inch of my skin as the hair on my body starts to prickle up. I can feel my lips turning down into a frown at the odd sensation besieging my body but even that minuscule movement takes effort. The furrowing of my brows and my taught muscles feel a thousand times heavier as I feel my breathing start to get heavier. My lungs expanding and contracting faster with every breath I try to take in. I barely understand what's going on, not even comprehending much of anything as a mild tingling sensation starts to spread in the place of the goosebumps. The tingling sensation building tenfold until it hits me full force.
The fire is a slow burn, attacking every inch of my skin. The heat blazing from within as if every cell in my body is scorching to a new degree. Every exhale and inhale of air feels like red hot lava is seeping into every pore and my once breathless pants now turns into a gargled chocking. Beads of sweat drop down from my forehead and I can even feel them rolling down my neck as my hair starts to get plastered onto me. I cringe automatically as I hear an overwhelmingly loud noise causing my ears to ring with a sharp tenacity that has my head pounding in seconds. My body starts to go limp as my taught muscles now fall almost lifeless.
The clamouring gets louder and louder but simultaneously fades in and out as I can feel someone holding onto me before I'm met with the cool tiled flooring, my cheek pressing into it for all I've got so that I can relish in the little peace I'm getting. A garbled voice enters my ears as the ringing starts to lower in volume. I don't even realise that my eyes have closed on their own accord till I find them fluttering open, my gaze hazy but one part of my mind still registering the fact that Asha is kneeling in front of me, her face fuzzy and disproportionate but the outline of her lips moving as if she's trying to convey something to me.
My eyes start to get teary for reasons unbeknownst to me, vision starting to cloud up and go dim. I can tell I'm about to pass out but then I feel it. A sharp stinging pain erupting onto the exposed part of my cheek as a firm slap is received onto the tender flesh.
"Fie!"
The sound of a groan reaches me and it takes a good few seconds for my befuddled mind to realise it's coming from my lips, the sound slightly wheezy as Asha lays me on my back, tilting my head further to the side.
"God damn it. Where the hell is Malleus?" I hear her garbled words as the ringing finally dies down, my head clearing of all the clamouring finally.
My lips part as I try to signal to Asha that I want to sit up in an upright position, finally finding some strength along with my voice but I get cut off at the last moment. For a split second I think it's the heavy rain battering against the windows causing them to shudder but then I hear it again and the tremor down my back alerts me otherwise. A powerful growl thunders across the expanse of the castle and I hear Asha take in a slight gasp as the lights flicker around us. I would expect the sound to cause me to whimper and curl into the ground but it does quite the opposite as I get the strength I so desperately needed and I find myself bracing my hands against the floor in order to hoist myself up.
"Here comes Malleus." Asha voices with a slight hesitancy to her words before making sure I've properly braced myself as she then takes a few steps back. That too just in time as the main door to her office flies open with a resounding whack followed by continuous grumbles from the man standing in the doorway. The thudding of Malleus boots against the tiled floor reverberates within me with every step he takes. The distinct scent of my mate causes goosebumps to arise on my skin once more as my eyes start to close, the aura Malleus carries with him lulling me into sleep.
Another smaller growl releases from my mates lips and I find myself turning my body towards the sound, wanting to get closer while also simply wanting to sleep.
"Heat." Malleus growls out, the one word causing my entire body to freeze up as my eyes snap wide open, shock coursing through me even though it is the most obvious thing ever. I guess the onslaught of emotions and weird sensations dulled my senses to even think properly. Before I know it, a whimper escapes my lips involuntarily and I find Asha draping herself over me as she smoothens the hair stuck slick to my face.
"Malleus! Don't just stand there." Asha's words are sharp and if not for the predicament that I find myself in, I would've been shocked for the lack of authority since the woman is anything but disrespectful to the man in front of her. "You won't get out of control. It's okay." She soothes further.
I finally find myself raising my gaze till they land on the man I so desperately need to hold me. His piercing blue eyes are almost wild and I can see the animal underneath wanting to break free from its chains, the scent of m threat most likely driving him mad.
"M-Malleus." I beg as my lower lip trembles, every inch of my body disobeying me as I try to catch myself from slipping further into this maddening haze. My skin starts to heat up once more under Asha's touch but before I can mutter the words out, the woman in question is ripped away from me and instead I feel two hands that full down the fury of the fire. This time a sigh leaves me as Malleus pulls me entirely into his body, my own curling up against him and relishing the feel of his strong arms holding me in place while the fire dies down within.
"Shh, my Queen. Rest." He whispers in a strained voice as he lowers his bed besides mine till they're firmly pressed against one another. In response to his words, another whimper leaves me and I find myself unable to stop the sound. The haze in my mind grows tenfold once more since I feel now at ease. My mind slowly losing consciousness with the last thing I process is the continuing of Malleus' soothing words along with the soft kiss he places to the crown of my head.
My state of disorientation deepens further and there are time's where I gain consciousness, only to peel my eyes open just a fraction of an inch only for them to fall shut again. Voices around me are garbled and I can't even pinpoint if it's just one voice or many. The only constant state, however, is me being in a state of tranquillity. Even while being in such a mess, there is one thing I know and that is my mate laying down besides me from which the calming aura exudes out of him and gently into my own body.
I barely know how long has passed but my body feels rested, my muscles relaxed and my eyeballs starting to flicker underneath their lids. A hand grasps onto my own tightly while the continuous movement of fingers brushing through my hair registers into my mind. A soft sigh leaves me and I find my eyes opening of their own accord, only to come into contact with those of my mate.
"Hello."Malleus murmurs gently causing a soft grin to tug at my lips. The man almost like a gentle giant as he tries to control his movements, barely even breathing properly so as to not set me off again. His eyes still hold the slightly crazed look but less so now. I frown as I think over what he must have gone through, what he's still going through. The tautness of his bunches up muscles already signifies that the smell of my heat hasn't lessened and he's most likely driving himself stir crazy. Inconspicuously, I take in air, trying to take in the smell of my surroundings but the only out of place smell that reaches me is my stronger than ever scent of Jasmine. The scent of my Pack.
"Are you okay?" I question softly, nuzzling further into his comforting body before I stop myself, not wanting to torture him further.
A scoff resounds throughout the room as his grip on me tightens and he holds me closer to him than ever. "I should be asking you that." He mumbles into my hair.
A soft smile makes its way onto my face and I'm just about to retort back when instead all I let out is a gasp. I don't even have enough time to push Malius away before I can feel the burn within me again. This time approaching at a faster rate and if I thought the last time was bad, this was worse. Definitely worse. Every single cell within my body feeling as if it's been scorched alive, one part of me even expecting the smell of singed flesh to reach my nose. Instead I let out a scream as I manage to push Malleus away from me before using all my left up energy to curl into a fetal position, burrowing my head into my arms as far as I can go. The sweat comes back tenfold and the clothes on my body cling to me within mere seconds, the once soft cloth now feeling like sharp rusted nails scratching against every surface of my body.
"Malleus." My voice comes out in a near screech and the next thing I know, I'm being hoisted out of bed, once again being wrapped in between two strong arms as he takes me to who knows where. The once soothing sensation of his body on mine now not having the same effect as I start to thrash around in his arms, wanting for him to desperately let go of me.
"Take her to the bathroom. Fill the tub up with water. That will help her." A voice echoes somewhere within the room but in return I hear a gruff sound of denial.
"I'm taking her outside."Malleus growls, his chest sending vibrations throughout my own causing me to nearly let out a sound that would have Malius stopping in place. "Evacuate the halls, I want everyone in their room sealed shut."
Even through this burning within me, I try to stop myself from mewling like a cat on heat and only manage to hold in another whimper. My mate gets the hint and instead extends his arms forward till my skin isn't touching his own shirt clad chest and instead I can feel the wind whizzing around us from both sides. I let my eyes close, enjoying the feel of wind flowing throughout me as my mate picks up speed and runs down the hall of the castle. I don't have any clue as to where we're going or what he plans to do with me. The only sense of mine that is working is my hearing as everything else feels numb.
It doesn't take long before I realise we've now stepped outside, the rain that should have subsided by now is still in full force. The wind battering against me as the rain filled gale washes down on the both of us. I would have expected to feel discomfort at the torrent all around us but instead it manages to sizzle out the nonexistent flames I was drowning in. Nonetheless, the feel of my clothes against my skin and the onslaught from within me hasn't loosened up yet thankfully Malleus doesn't seem to give up yet as he continues to trek through what I think might be the garden, since it's the only open plane where the rain can pour down on us to an extent like this.
Managing to peel my eyes open, my breath nearly gets taken away when I catch sight of where he's taken us. His slowing footsteps alert me to the fact that we've indeed reached our destination. The garden we were once traipsing through now narrowed further, a tilt of my head showing me that a single track ran through the back of the garden, laden with stones and edged with trees on all sides before the entirety of the place opened up into one small lake. The lake itself connected to a stream where water flows over a formation of rocks that flow into a mini waterfall. The water a foamy white in some places near rocks and a gentle see through blue in others.
The sight of water doesn't deter Malleus and instead I find him walking towards the embankment before he crosses that too till his bare feet touch the water, heading further in still till the water laps up all around us. I find myself clinging onto my mate but he removes his arms from around me and pushes me further into the lake till I'm drifting away from him. My mate doesn't seem to impressed with my grumblings as he sends me a look to keep my lips sealed, which with a lot of effort, I do so. The content I feel is all to new to me and it's as if I'm allowing the translucent liquid to ebb into every pore of my being, the last of my heat fading away with every caress of water against my skin.
Without thinking about it, I extend my arm out towards my mate who grasps it within seconds, hesitantly pulling me into him. Just like him, I don't waste a further second as I curl into his arms, resting my chin on his shoulder as he caresses the hair on my head.
"Are you feeling okay now?" He seems weary even now but a nod of my head makes him let out a relieved sigh.
"We can head inside now." I mumble slightly shyly, the reason unknown to me. Malleus apparently has other plans as he shakes his head but still pulling me towards the embankment.
"Not yet. Your heat will start up again soon and this is the best place for you to be." He answers as he places me down on a slightly wet patch of grass. I frown in discontent as he isn't lying down besides me but a wave of exhaustion runs through me before I can make any further protests.
"I'll have to stay here the entire day?" I mumble, the rain still not letting up and would have drenched me further if not for the fact that I was already soaking wet.
"Only a few hours, my mate. It's gone well into the night." His words come out in a whisper and I find my eyes closing shut. The last thing I hear is the sound clothes tearing apart. This grabs my attention even in such a state of unease, both at wanting to see the sight of my mate in his current lack of attire but when I feel something soft and warm drape themselves over me, the urge is now to see my mates beautiful wolf. The exact one that whines gently in my ear as I find myself letting go completely. Falling not only asleep but dropping my guard as my own wolf howls within me, coming forth herself.
————————- AN: I'm a hoe. I know. I'm soooo sorry for the update that's not 1 week but 2 weeks late. I've gotten a load of assignments with all these online classes and I have exams too. I'm a mess lol. The next update will definitely not be this late so don't worry!
Question: What is one show that you could not get into despite the hype surrounding it?
