Fie Wright's P. O. V

The silence that filters in is enough to make even the bravest of people to cringe in discomfort, the only sounds coming from my father's now regaining balanced breathing. Everyone else watching on with a keen gaze. Some with amusement like Ezra while other's wince at the outright meeting that just happened between two very important men in my life. Even Alpha Tyrell shifts around uncomfortably, not meeting anyone's eyes while Marcus stands stock still.

After another few moments pass, my father slowly raises himself from his hunched over position, a sigh of relief escaping him. His once reddened face now back to normal though lacking just a tad bit of pallor as his eyes travel from me and then to the man standing besides him. Deciding I should just make my stand and go with it, I shuffle forward a teeny bit before making my way back to where I was standing previously.

"Um Dad, like Ezra pointed out," maybe I shouldn't have mentioned my rambunctious cousin just now but it's too late, "This is my mate Malleus. Malleus this is my father, Fredrick." Dad doesn't seem to have anything in mind since he stares back with a gaping mouth, eyes still wide as the pallor deeps on his face. The man looking like he's just aged twenty years older.

"It is a pleasure to meet my mate's father." Malleus answers politely, however, no hint of discomfort in his tone to be found.

Actually, if I analyse him a bit more; he doesn't look out of place at all. The thought takes me by surprise since it fleetingly came to me that he'd act like a normal wolf meeting their mate's parents, but instead, he seems at ease and like he's barely picking up on the awkward atmosphere that surrounds us.

Clearing my throat, I turn my attention to Tyrell who appears he'd rather be anywhere than here as I grasp onto Malleus' hand and walk towards my Alpha who still has his head bowed regardless of Malleus' words.

"This is Alpha Tyrell who I'm sure you've talked to before. He's Ezra's brother and, hence, my cousin." I introduce Malleus to another member of my family. This one thankfully not choking up.

I'd take a shy family member over an embarrassing one.

"I apologise for not knowing of your relation between Fie and you but it is a pleasure to know that she grew up in a Pack with capable and good leadership. I can already tell you are much mature than Ezra." Malleus formally says to Tyrell as a shocked gasp passes the lips of the man who's just gotten insulted while I glare at the side of Malleus' head, completely sure I had told him of my ties with Tyrell when we met the first time.

"Thank you for your kind words my King. Ezra is like an acquired taste so I do understand where you are coming from." Tyrell inputs, a soft grin forming on his lips before he gets serious once more. "Please, let us make way into the Pack rather then standing here. Dinner is ready at your utmost convenience and you can stay wherever you please although I'm sure you will be staying where Fie is."

Malleus squeezes my hand, the action almost reflex and as if he's unaware of doing so while he shakes his head at Tyrell's words, "Before I do any of that, I would like to see your mate so that she can be tended to immediately. I understand how hard it must be for you to wait while I do trivial things. I shall tend to her and only then shall I take you up on the rest."

My mate's words have a collective sigh of relief being released, the awkwardness now being replaced with sheer excitement at the thought of our Luna getting better. The change in Alpha Tyrell almost instant as his drooping shoulders straighten and a spark lights up his eyes that has been missing for months.

"Of course your Highness. This way." The man even has a pep in his step as we all follow him. Some members slightly falling behind and then heading off in other directions to give us privacy while only Ezra and Marcus follow behind us.

The smile on my face that lingered at the reunion with my pack, even if it wasn't much to be desired with the outcome, slowly starts to fade away the closer we reach the building that has our Luna tucked away. An image flashing through my mind of when I saw her last, pale and lifeless as if she's clinging onto the ledge that will send her plummeting to her death. The dim aura of her wolf barely present which sends an overpowering ache to my heart as I remember how both her and her wolf were absolute bundles of joy. Warmth and kindness radiating out of them but being firm and strict when needed. A perfect balance that a leader should be. A clear role model for me to follow when I take up my place next to Malleus.

Entering into that room is as depressing as ever. The sadness in the air almost clogging every pore in my skin as we step through. No one saying anything as we all look on to the sight that has my hold tightening on my mate's hand. My wolf crying out at the sight of her Luna. Aria looking weaker then ever as sweat accumulates on her brow bone, lips chapped and nearing a sullen blue while the rest of her appears to be shaking from the overwhelming illness that's gotten hold of her in its death like grip.

"Malleus." My voice comes out hoarse and in a whisper, the terror clear as day while tears brim onto my lash line.

A soft kiss to the head has me calming down even while I simultaneously chide myself for acting this way. Aria's own mate, Alpha Tyrell, standing off to the side and staring on at his Luna with defeat in his eyes. I can't even force myself to look at Ezra and Marcus because I know they're in the same shape and form as I am, if not worse.

Malleus lets go of my hand, an empty feeling attacking me from all sides instantly which I try my best to shake off. The entire calamity of the situation causing me to feel uneasy without my mate by my side. Most likely a by product of seeing my Alpha with his mate in such a state leading me to scenarios if the same would ever happen to me and Malleus.

"This may take some time depending on the severity. I do not wish to cause you more stress but just by first glance I can tell Luna Aria is in bad condition. You can stay or leave, that is up to you but Fie must stay by my side." His last part causes my brow to ride up, nearly disappearing into my own hairline since I expected he would like everyone to clear the room to have more focus and attention on the matter at hand.

"I would like to stay if it is alright and of course, everyone else can stay if they wish as well. However, I would like to ask how exactly this will take place. I expected a Mage to be here and made the appropriate preparations that might be needed for them to cure my mate of her illness." The last word comes out in a soft whisper, almost garbled with the amount of pain that lingers in his voice.

"Do not worry. A mage isn't needed for this. I will tend to her myself." Malleus says simply, waving the idea of a mage off although I have a sinking feeling he doesn't mean quite literally that a mage isn't needed. My memory trailing back to just a few hours ago when his palm was glowing subtly although only I caught sight of that and no one else.

From the corner of my eye, I get a glimpse of Ezra and Marcus taking their leave quietly, most likely thinking it'll be best to have as less people as possible in the confines of the room. Malleus strides over to the bed, taking one of many seats that are present in the room for the very purpose that's taking place.

Alpha Tyrell watches on keenly as I try to shuffle my way to the side, wanting to be out of the way as possible just in case I end up doing something stupid which will only result in the whole healing process being bodged up.

Malleus places a hand onto Aria's forehead, a deep frown making its way onto his handsome face while he nods to himself like he's confirming his suspicions.

"This will definitely take some time. I'd advice you to take a seat," he motions to Alpha Tyrell before settling his gaze on me and patting the chair right besides him. Glancing at the Alpha, I slowly make my way towards the seat, plopping down in it as Tyrell follows my actions, his face full of concern as he stares at his mate.

'You being near me will help me concentrate better.' Malleus' mind link has me subtly smiling while I bite on my lower lip to stop it from growing. My heart warming at his words even at a time like this.

Once more does Malleus grab a hold of my hand while his other lands on the Luna once more, his face turning serious as he closes his eyes. Resuming the same stance he had back in the forest which confirms my suspicions to an extent.

I'll definitely be throwing him a bucket load of questions after this. Once he's well rested of course.

Settling into my chair, I don't know what I was was expecting but when it comes, I'm left at a loss for words as a sudden warmth starts to make its way from our connected hands and down over to the rest of my body, coursing entirely through me. Raising my eyes from our intertwined hands, my lips part in disbelief at the glow that emits from Malleus hand once more. The sight turning out to be familiar but, nonetheless, something that shakes up my emotions inside of me. The warmth that I can feel slowly starts to ebb away while my wolf tries to push forward, not enough to take control but just enough to make her presence known.

Even though I try to feel around for the source of her sudden appearance, all I get is a sense of deep concentration from within my wolf. Almost as if everything is muted, my eyes slowly start to fall shut as a calmness now washes over me. My wolfs aura poking out and slowly starting to mingle with that of Malleus' as the once warm sensation flooding through my body pinpoints around our joined hands and flowing freely through our bond.

Only then do I realise what is happening. The sudden realisation causing my eyes to snap open and land on the green glow now emitting from both of Malleus' hands. Nudging my wolf gently, I get a deep feeling of her essentially telling me to get lost, too focused on aiding her mate heal their Luna. The power of Malleus' and my wolf combining together to increase the flow of whatever magic my mate is using.

Closing my eyes once more, I try to follow along with my wolf, not entirely sure on how to do so but thinking of it as a rather sudden meditation that'll cause my energy to flow with that of my mate's. The pure speculation I'm throwing into the wind has my frowning in discomfort but I decide to focus on the matter at hand instead.

Slowly and carefully does the time trickle along. I'm not entirely sure how many minutes or hours have passed but when I feel my mate's hand loosening around mine do I finally open my eyes. Blinking a few times, I try to get used to the sudden brightness after having them being closed for so long, my bleary vision fading away and a sight that I didn't think I would see, greets me.

My Luna laying on the bed as serene as can be. As if she's been in a deep sleep for a few hours. Aria's once pale clammy skin now returning to its former richness. Lifeless chapped lips that were once a painstaking blue now returning to a healthy reddish pink whereas her once dull hair now shines brighter and healthier then ever. Her entire being lighting up as if the life essence that was once being sucked out of her has now all fused back in, not being let out for even a second longer.

"A-Aria," comes a soft whisper which has me smiling even wider. The disbelief in Tyrell's voice as he stops his relentless pacing on the floor, slowly making his way to his mate with wide eyes and a dropped jaw. Malleus slowly removes his hand from her shoulder, almost as if he's afraid to make any sudden movements while skilfully getting up from the chair. I follow his movements, the both of us wanting to give the Alpha and Luna some privacy as even now, the look in Tyrell's eyes as he sheds tears at his mate's now flushed cheeks has me shifting away uncomfortably. Feeling as if I'm intruding on something I have no right to be seeing.

"Thank you." Tyrell's voice is chockfull of emotion, the most apparent that of him being grateful. Malleus merely nods as we make our way to the door in order to give the man some privacy.

"She's resting at the moment and will wake up out of this comatose like state in a while. I already know you'll be able to help her get the decent rest the Luna needs but be careful, regardless." With that, Malleus pulls me out of the room, a sigh of relief escaping him while my eyes search the corridor for a clock I know is usually hanging up.

"That only took an hour?" I question in alarm, almost certain three hours had passed since we stepped foot into the room.

"Of course. Your wolf wanted to help more than I expected so it sped up the process by a long shot." I nod at his words, a giddy feeling encompassing me at the thought of my Luna finally being alright. Just the image of how she looked moments before nearly has me skipping in joy but, of course, for my mate's sake I settle for a delighted grin before I start dragging him along.

"We managed to get things done at the perfect time." I exclaim while still pulling him about, only one destination in mind.

"How so?" He asks although the hesitance is clear in his voice.

"It's time for dinner and I'm sure my dad has cooked up a storm. Also a little warning, my mom's a bit more eccentric than my father so just don't get caught off guard, I guess." I finish with a pause, my mother's reaction already attacking me full front as we close onto the house with each footstep.

If I thought my dad was bad, my mother is on a whole other level.

Thankfully, Malleus doesn't seem to have too bad a reaction as he settles for a mere 'hmm' in response. We'll see how long that lasts.

The familiar sight of my quaint two story house has me smiling bright as I practically skip my way there, all previous thoughts of putting up a calm exterior in front of my mate now going down the bin as I drag the man along with me, not bothering to knock or ring the doorbell. Instead, I waltz right in like I do all the time considering my parents nearly always forget to lock the front door after they've stepped inside.

"Fie Wright!" The sound of a shrill screech reverberates all around us causing me to wince, my sharp sensitive ears practically curling in on themselves as a warm figures crashes into me. Inhaling my mother's scent, I let her pick me up off of the ground as she spins me in the air, my hand dislodging from that of Malleus as I wrap both my arms around my mother, returning her bone breaking hug.

"I missed you too mom." I coo at the erratic woman who puts me down after a few moments, my head slightly turning in dizzying circles after being spun around.

The same messily sprawled hair greets me with full force as my mother tries to pat the mane down, giving up the next second as she narrows her once excited green eyes at me. The smile on her pink painted lips turns down into a frown before pursing at me in disapproval. The happiness she felt from first seeing her daughter simmering away and now settling into a steady steaming pile of anger and discontent.

"I know I didn't cal and I apologise. I was busy and I know that's no excuse but mom I pro-," my apology gets cut off into a startled gasp, my face turning a blotchy red the next second as a sharp stinging erupts onto my skin.

"That serves you for not calling young lady." She says sternly while my hand goes to the skin where I'm sure she's left a mark, my face blossoming into a further shade of red as I rub wearily at my backside.

"You didn't have to spank me!" I cry out, still in a state of shock as I continue to rub the tender skin through my pants. The presence of my mate skipping my mind for a brief moment but then entering just as fast as my eyes land on him, only to find his trained on my hand. Rather so, not on my hand but what my hand is currently rubbing.

"Oh my days!" My mom suddenly squeals, her attention span shorter than ever as she sets her gaze on the man besides me who thankfully brings his eyes up at the perfect moment to avoid being caught.

Ogling their daughters behind in front of them isn't the best first impression one could go for.

"It's the King," she mutters with her eyes wide, "Its got to be. No one else has that much power coming out of them. Oh God! It's the King!" My mother exclaims, her hand lashing out as emphasis and knocking me on the shoulder while she's at it.

Stifling my groan of protest, I rub wearily at my shoulder while watching Malleus who shuffles on his feet uneasily.

"It is a pleasure to finally meet my mate's mother." He says as courteous as ever while my mom's mouth practically unhinges itself at that jaw as she drops onto one knee.

'Fie. Do I bow down to him fully? What do I do?" My mother's voice filtering into my mind has me cringing as I grab her by the elbow and pull her up, with a bit more force then necessary as an image of the woman kissing the ground at my mate's feet in a full bow enters my mind. I'd rather bury myself in the back garden before that occurrence happens.

"L-likewise your Highness." She continues to be in a gaze as Malleus glances from me to her for a split second before shaking his head, a smile plastering onto his face that looks more scared than polite.

"Please call me Malleus. We are family after all." The words have the former tension easing up while my mother continues to stare in wonder at the man in front of her.

"You've met my father shortly before," I continue, not allowing any awkward silences to reign in, "Dad. I hope dinner is ready." My last words have a glare directed at my father. The man straightening up from his former position like he wasn't crouched down besides the kitchen doorway, listening to everything going on as he makes his way towards Malleus, an odd expression on his face.

"Indeed I have. It's nice to finally meet my daughter's mate. Please come into the dining room so we can have dinner. It'll be a delight to get to catch up with Fie and to get know you better Malleus." My father smoothly continues while I direct my eyes to the rarely used dinning room that's hidden from view by the oak door.

I guess you can't have the King chowing down on dinner at the kitchen island.

Both my parents turn around and make their way to the dinning room as a soft hand slips it's way into mine while the both of us follow after the other two for a dinner I know I will never forget.

'I hate to admit this but I'm a bit nervous. Your parents make me nervous.' Malleus admits through the mind link, most probably hoping for reassurance from my side but all he gets is a tight lipped smile.

You and me both.
