Charlie's POV

The week drug on slowly. Jacob had failed to make an appearance in school for the rest of the week. Mike kept up on his gifts, giving me small things everyday. Austin and Victoria have decided that instead of sitting outside they would join Laura, Mike, and I's table. Not once did they even bring up Jacob.

They fit into our group quite well. They shared the same type of humor as the rest of the group so we often shared many jokes and had many laughs.

When Saturday had rolled around all I looked forward to was drinking my problems away at my party. I had never been one for drinking due to my past but something about the liquid called to me.

I had let Laura and Mike be the ones in charge for the party. Although people aren't necessarily coming for me, more for drinks and an excuse to get drunk of their minds.

All while Mike and Laura were at my house, I visited my mom.

"Hello Mama!" I said walking into her room. She smiled her perfect smile at me before patting the spot next to her. I sat down and instantly her frail hands grabbed mine.

"Happy birthday my beautiful baby girl." She said leaning forward, planting a kiss on my forehead. She leaned beside her and pulled a small blue gift bag. My eyes widened slightly. She handed it over to me with a smile.

I took the gift from her slowly. She pushed me to open it quickly. With a smile I pulled out a small wooden box. Mom had the biggest smile on her face as she pushed me to open it. I lifted the lid and what was inside made my smile bigger.

I pulled out a small silver locket that was decorated beautifully. Mother pushed me to open it further to look what was inside. Inside was a picture of my mother and I before she had gotten diagnosed with cancer. Tears welled in my eyes before they began to silently.

"I love it mama." I said hugging her. Inside the bag was a big white envelope. I pulled it out and noticed my name in huge letters in the middle.

"If something were to happen to me I want you to open that. Only then." Mom said smiling sadly at the envelope.

"Nothing is going to happen to you mama." I said quietly. The look she gave me was telling me otherwise.

"Charlie there will come a day very soon where I wont be here anymore. We all know that I am getting worse by the day. It is not long before I take my final breath, say my final goodbye to you. No matter how much you may be hurting, when I die you need to look at that envelope." She said taking my hands in hers. At this point I was full on bawling.

"I love you so much Mama." I said laying on her stomach while crying.

"I love you too my baby girl."

~Later that day~

I sat in my room in front of my vanity as Mike and Laura greeted the guests that started to arrive. The music blared downstairs.

I had my makeup and hair done but I just sat there and looked at myself. I didn't have much makeup on due to the fact I didn't really like it. My hair was up in a high messy bun that made it look cute.

With a sigh I stood up and walked over to my closet. I grabbed out a simple yellow off the shoulder crop top. I pulled it off the hanger then looked for a pair of jeans. I decided to settle on a pair of black ripped skinny jeans.

I got changed and instantly walked over to my full body mirror. I mean I know I didn't look bad but in my own opinion I don't think I looked very good.

Knowing that people would start wondering where I was I made my way out of the safety of my room. The party was already at full swing. I let out a shaky breath and made my way down stairs. Almost instantly everyone turned to me. Cheers and screams could be heard.

"Happy Birthday Charlie!" The crowd screamed. I smiled a huge smile at them as they began dancing once again. I walked into the kitchen instantly feeling parched and wanting a drink. I grabbed a cold beer out of the cooler and opened it. I brought the bottle to my lips and took a swig.

Beer is absolutely disgusting, but at this point, I hadn't cared. The flavor itself made me want to cringe.

I turned back around to go back to the party when arms wrapped around my body. I looked to see Victoria hugging me. I smiled and hugged her back.

"Happy birthday!" Her and Austin exclaimed.

"Thank you!" I said laughing. Austin showed me the gift bag he held then sat it on the table where everyone else was putting gifts.

"Make sure to open mine and Vicki's first!" Austin said over the loud music. I nodded with a smile.

They walked off into God knows where. I sat back and observed for a while, just watching everyone dance. There were multiple people grinding on each other as the loud blasting music gave off that vibe.

I was asked to dance a few times but I didn't take up on the offers. I just sat there sipping on the beer that was in my hand. Slowly I had gotten used to the bitter flavor.

I let my mind wander off to Jacob. When inviting Austin and Victoria I was hoping he would understand that he was invited to.

If I am being honest I doubted that he would show up. We weren't currently on the best of terms so I doubt he would take the time to actually come here, even if it were my birthday. Although something deep inside my thought was hoping he'd show anyway.

With a sigh I threw my beer away and walked onto the dance floor. Instantly I found Laura and Victoria dancing together while Mike and Austin watched with amused faces. I instantly joined the girls as we all danced like crazed idiots.

None of us really had any rhythm and often stumbled around. We looked like actual robots dancing but it was all fun anyway. That's all that matters.

I was swaying my hips to the music when I felt a pair of warm hands on my waist. The touch sent small tingles up my spine. I turned in the person's hold to come face to face with Jacob. Well I should say face to chest because his over six foot height was nothing compared to my 5'2 frame.

"You came." I said breathlessly, staring up at him with a smile. A slight smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.

"Did you think I wouldn't actually come?" He questioned quietly. I pursed my lips and looked up him. Some things clicked in his mind and I could tell me knew the answer. His shoulders tensed slightly.

"Wanna dance?" I asked playing with my fingers. I stared at the ground as if it were the most coolest thing in the entire world. Jacob leaned forward and I could feel his hot breath hit the side of my neck.

Without a reply he pushed my head onto his chest and rested his hands on my hips. He slowly rocked us back and forth even though the song had an up-beat to it. I kept his hands on my waist through three songs.

So many pairs of eyes were on us but it was as if no one else was there. Only him and I.

Looking over my shoulder I could see my best friends, including Victoria and Austin, looking at our forms with a smirk.

When it had reached about 2 a.m. everyone had left. The only people that had remained were Austin, Victoria, Laura, Mike, and Jacob. We all pushed the couches back in their normal spot. We all took seats on separate ones. Jacob and I somehow ended up together on the recliner chair I have, me sitting on his lap. Saying I was tired was an understatement. I was beyond tired.

"You guys can all stay here if you want. I can go and get two air mattresses I have, then two of you can sleep on the couch. Then finally one of you can sleep on the recliner." I said. They all nodded. I smiled at them before leaving to go get the air mattresses.

After getting everyone situated for where they're going to sleep I made my way up to my room. I changed into a pair of shorts a baggy t-shirt and climbed into

If I were being honest I was having a blast. I didn't think my birthday was going to turn out fun like this but I was wrong. It had been one of the best nights I've had in a long time. I never expected so many people to come nor did I expect Jacob to come.

With that final thought I closed my eyes and fell asleep with a smile.
