'HOLD ME CLOSER TINY DANCERRRRR... COUNT THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE HIGHWAYYYY'

Lauren laughed as Sam belted out one of her favourite songs. The pair were driving over to IKEA so Sam could help Lauren pick the last remaining furniture for her new flat. Somehow, she was moving in tomorrow and didn't have a bed to sleep on. When she had told him last night, Sam had convinced her that it was 'really important' that he helped choose the bed, since he would apparently be spending a lot of time in it.

'I can't believe you went to the Rocketman premiere and didn't invite me, you know Elton John is my favourite singer.' Lauren joked to Sam.

'I thought I was your favourite singer,' he teased, his eyes focusing on the road. Lauren could see the corners of his mouth turn upwards, obviously amused at the girl but trying not to show it.

'Fine... Elton is my second favourite singer' she quipped, grinning at the smile that spread across his face and the blush on his cheeks. She had thought about saying something sarcastic back to him, but watching the pride on his face and the blush rising on his cheeks when she complimented him made her heart burst. He was constantly catching her singing along to his songs in the shower, or humming a verse under her breath and every time it made him beam at the girl.

Sam pulled into IKEA carpark, and when he got out of the car, Lauren swore he looked like a kid on Christmas morning.

'I love IKEA me, can we play hide and seek.'

'No Sam,' Lauren replied, 'You're 25 years old.' Laughing at his childishness, she grabbed his hand and entered the store. Walking through the store, the two were distracted by everything, picking up random pieces of furniture and decorations, and she ended up with tons of shit in her basket that she definitely didn't need. Lauren's comments about Sam being childish had gone out the window and Lauren had joined in with his activities, the two messing about more than actually doing anything productive.

At one point, Lauren took her phone out and took a cute snap of Sam cuddling a teddy bear from the kid section. She turned her phone to show him the photo, and he asked if she could send it to him. She quickly sent it over, and they continued through the store.

Sam and Lauren must have laid down on every bed in the shop. In the end, they chose a cute metal bed frame and a firm mattress. In Sam's words, firm mattresses were 'better for... you know... cuddling.'

The two packed the boxes into the back of Sam's small car and got in to make the car ride back to North Shields. Lauren noticed that her phone was vibrating constantly in her pocket. She pulled it out and her Instagram was blowing up. Hundreds of people were suddenly following her and liking her pictures, and she had tons of comments saying 'omg is this Sam's girlfriend?' as well as loads of DMs asking the same thing. She was extremely confused as to how so many people had found her Instagram. Maybe someone had taken a photo of them when they were out? Or maybe someone had noticed the constant cute comments that Sam left on her photos? But as she scrolled to the bottom of her notifications, she realised where the influx of followers had come from.

@/sam_fender mentioned you in their story

Lauren clicked on the notification to see that Sam had uploaded the photo she had taken of him in IKEA to his story with the caption 'me new pal,' but also 'thanks for messing round with me lozdavies'

The girl frowned down at her phone. 'What's wrong?' asked Sam, glancing over at the girl but keeping his eyes on the road.

'You tagged me in your story' she replied simply, trying to turn off her notifications so her phone would stop vibrating, and switching her profile to private so no more people could follow her. She felt slightly violated by the influx of followers, likes and comments. Herself and Sam had only been official for a few weeks, only their closest friends and family knew about their relationship. Now all of Sam's most dedicated fans seemed to know too, which was confirmed to them as they started to troll through her Instagram and found Sam's lovey comments, such as 'I'm so lucky' on her latest post, or 'how did I manage to pull u' on the one before.

'Yeah, what's wrong with that?' he replied, upset by the frown on his girlfriends face.

'We've never talked about telling your fans that we're together,' she replied, 'What if it's too soon? What if they hate me?'

'Just because I tagged you in my story doesn't mean we're together, I tag the lads in stories all the time, I'm not shagging any of them.'

'Yes, but they're the lads that's different Sam! And I'm a girl, you know they're bound to speculate as soon as you're pictured with a girl. Anyway, they've seen your comments on my photos, they know we're together.'

Sam silently cursed himself. 'Babe I'm so sorry' he replied. 'I wasn't thinking, sometimes I wish I could just post a photo of my girlfriend without this happening, or go out in town without being stopped for photos. I love this life, but sometimes I just want my old one back. I just want to show you off, I can't believe a girl as beautiful as you would go out with me.'

Lauren frowned at Sam's comments. It must be hard to have to constantly double guess what you're doing, having to think about how thousands of people will react. She reached over and grabbed Sam's hand. 'It's okay.' She then took his phone out of his pocket, took a selfie of herself in the passenger seat with Sam concentrating on the road beside her in the background of the photo and uploaded it to his Instagram story. 'Now you can show me off properly' she said.

That night, when the two were cuddling on Sam's sofa, Lauren took her Instagram back off private, picked her favourite photo the two had taken while out on a date earlier in the week and uploaded it with the caption 'lucky gal❤️'

Sam smiled when his phone silently vibrated, and he picked it up and read the latest notification.
