Today would be a hard day. Today I would finally get some closure. I had met most of my siblings and today we would visit Devin in the hospital too.

But today I would also see my mother. I didn't know if I wanted to see her. She was put into a mental asylum. Turned out she really was crazy.

"Hey are you excited about seeing Devin?" Vincent asked. We were still at the 'base' as they call it and getting ready to go out.

Vincent was a really good guy and treated me really sweetly. He was so shy that I kept wondering how he ended up in the mafia.

"Yes! I can't wait!" I said clapping my hands excitedly.

"Lisa, Hades come on we need to go" Vincent called the others.

Before I could walk out with them I felt myself getting pushed back onto a hard chest which I knew all too well.

"Baby are you sure you can go alone?" He whispered in my ear.

"Yes, don't worry. Besides, Vincent and Hades will be with me and Lisa" I smiled up at him.

"I'll miss you" He groaned and kissed my cheek.

"I'll miss you too but I need to go now. Love you bye!" I giggled and wiggled myself out of his arms running outside with the others.

The last thing I heard before leaving was 'I love you too'

"So you know there's this nurse and she's really hot-"

"Devin!" Everyone yelled.

"Okay chill, I might die here. Might as well make it fun"

"Devin stop saying shit like that" Lisa said slapping the back of his head.

"Fine fine" He whined. "Now tell me little sis, how is that dude treating you? Is he nice? I mean he's in the mafia he can't be nice but-"

"He treats me really well Devin. I hope you can meet him one day"

Devin was really fun to be with. He was bubbly and talked a lot even after all he's been through.

"So where's my ray of sunshine Hades?" Devin asked.

"Probably outside smoking" Vincent whispered.

"I told that bitch not to smoke" Devin crossed his arms.

Hades was the opposite of Devin. As the oldest out of the boys, he was always serious and didn't talk much. He barely talked to me. He hugged me when he saw me and he said he was sorry but he always looked sorrowful.

"I'll go find him" I said and stood up.

After wandering outside the hospital for ten minutes I found him somewhere smoking and staring blankly at nothing.

"Hades what are you doing? Why are you here?" I asked him.

"I just needed to relax"

"Get that off your mouth!" I said and took his cigarette before getting rid of it.

"Hey! Why did you do that?!"

"Hades seriously why are you like this? Stop being so-so-"

"So what?"

"So grumpy!" I whined. "I've gone through a lot too in my life Hades but I never lost hope"

"Well I can't be like that. Just give me some time okay? We need to go see mother in a few"

"Okay" I sighed and left.

After saying goodbye to Devin we left and went to see mother. My stomach started turning and I felt nervous. I wondered if she's a little better now or if she's still as crazy as when I last saw her.

The conversation I had with her showed me that she was still just as crazy.

She refused to answer any questions and started yelling when I told her how much she hurt me. We left after that and decided to never go back again.

We went back to the house and I immediately went to Ares' office where I knew he was. I could hear people talking so I realized he wasn't alone. Curiosity got the best of me and I leaned in trying to hear.

"Just do it quick no thoughts" I heard Nate say and right after that Ares shushed him.

"Baby you can come in now!" He called out to me. I felt myself blushing as I opened the door with an awkward smile.

How did he know I was there? And what was he planning to do quickly? Kill me? No he wouldn't do that, what am I thinking

"Nate can you go?"

"Ugh fine! Don't come for help next time" Nate said and left.

"Come here" He said patting his lap. I straddled him and wrapped my arms around his neck. "You tried to eavesdrop didn't you?" He whispered in my ear.

I nodded.

"Words" He ordered as he slapped my butt.

Ouch. What was that for?

"Y-yes"

"Such a bad girl" He whispered again. His deep husky voice did something to me. "Now princess, what did you hear?"

"N-Nate said d-do it quick, what did he mean? Are you going to kill me? Or someone else?" I said in one breath.

"You think I would ever hurt you?" He asked raising his eyebrows.

"No"

"I'm not here to hurt you Seren. I'm here to protect you"

He looked hurt and I had regretted ever telling him that.

"Are you scared of me because of what I am?"

"No!"

"Then what? Do you feel threatened when I'm with you?"

"No! Of course not!"

"I'm sorry if I ever hurt you in any way-"

I didn't let him finish. Mustering up all my courage I cupped his jaw and pressed my lips on his.

"I didn't mean it I'm sorry" I said pulling away.

"I'm glad because-" He opened a drawer searching for something "-what I meant to do was-" He pulled out a blue velvet box and opened it making me gasp "-give you this"

That was an actual ring. An expensive one too. It had an actual oval shaped blue diamond on it.

"Ares what's this?"

Nice question dumbass.

"Just see it as a promise ring"

A promise ring?! This is a whole engagement ring!

"I've loved you for years, maybe not the way I love you now, but I'm sure about what I want. I know you're still young but you've been through so much" His smile fell before continuing "I know it is a risk since you might leave for someome younger or more handsome or someone who's not a killer-"

"Stop, no, nope. First of all there's no man that's more handsome than you" I said without really realizing it.

A smirk stretched across his face as he looked up at me.

"What about my age?" He asked.

"It doesn't matter"

"It does" He insisted.

"I love you either way" I smiled at him.

He chuckled. "Now tell me, do you accept this?"

"I'm not even eighteen yet"

"Look at the clock baby"

12 am

"So?"

"It's your birthday" He chuckled.

Oh.

"You're eighteen now baby, you're an adult" He said kissing my cheek. "And I'm not your actual guardian. Well I am, but you don't really need me"

"I do need you though"

"I need you more so please don't keep me waiting and accept this"

"I obviously will silly" I giggled.

He put the ring on my finger and kissed it.

"I hope you don't regret this" He laughed saying.

"I hope you don't regret this" I laughed along.

"I love you" He said and kissed me.

"I love you too" I said when we pulled away.
