It has been a few days since we last met Masami-san and Ran have been trying to reach out to her.

Ran : That's weird....

Ran said catching our attention. The three of us look at Ran and see her holding the office phone.

Kogorou : Hm?

Conan : What's wrong, Ran-neesan?

Ran : No matter how many times I call, I can't get a hold of that girl....

Kogorou : That girl?

Ran You know the one who came here a while ago asking to find her father, Hirota Masami-san!!

Kogorou : Ahh, the one who came all the way from Yamagata....

Ran : I've been wondering what happened after she met her father, so I've been calling, but.... Are you really sure this is the right number?

Ran ask Oji-san as she held out the paper with Masami-san's phone number on it.

Kogorou : She wrote it herself, so I should be, but she was always the one who get in touch with us, so I never actually called the number either.

Ran : Do you think she might have gone back home....?

Kogorou : Or she might still be in that apartment with her father.... Or else...

Conan : Maybe her father ran away from her again....

Kogorou : That's a possibility.... When that old man saw his daughter, he looked pretty surprised....

Hearing Conan and Oji-san said that I quickly stand between them. I hit Conan on the back of his head and Oji-san on his leg. I then glare at Conan.

Erena : Baka!!

After that, I turn toward Oji-san to glare at him making him choked on air. Then Ran voice can be heard booming making the three of us turn to her.

Ran : STOP JOKING AROUND!!.... I've got a bad feeling about this.... I'M GOING TO THAT APARTMENT!

Ran said as she turns and ran out of the office making the three of us shock and follow her.

Kogorou : H-hey, wait, Ran!! RAN!!



Me, Conan, Ran and Oji-san are all at the apartment Hirota-san currently rent. We went to his room but doesn't get any replied, so we went to the landlady.

Kogorou : He-he died....?

We're all so shock hearing the news. We came all the way here trying to have a look on how Masami-san and her father doing, but not expecting otherwise or worst.

Kogorou : IS THIS TRUE MS. LANDLADY?

Landlady : Yeah.... I found him hung up by his neck last night. It caused such a scene....

Ran : Oh no....

Ran said now with tears at the corner of her eyes.

Landlady : It's such a bothersome story.... It's going to ruin our reputation here....

Kogorou : WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT MAN'S DAUGHTER?!

Landlady : Daughter?

Kogorou : HIROTA MASAMI-SAN, THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN SEARCHING FOR HIM!!

Landlady : Why, did he run away from his family?! I dunno.... He was kind of a weirdo anyway.... He paid for a year's worth of rent beforehand and he told me not to ask him any questions....

Kogorou : A year's worth....?

Landlady : And he paid in brand new bills, too. I thought he might have been a runaway, but I'm just not sure. But, if his daughter did come to him, she might have been murdered somewhere too....

Then something clicked in me.

Erena : Wait.... How can someone who love horse racing rent a cheap apartment a year's worth. Sure, they are cheaper, but a year's worth is still a lot. And in a brand-new bill too. Also, what does she meant by Masami-san would have been murdered somewhere?

Kogorou : She.... But didn't Hirota-san kill himself....?

Landlady : When the inspector came to look at the body, he said this was a murder....

All : EH??





You, Conan, Ran and Kogorou are now at the police station. However, only Kogorou went inside while you, Conan bad Ran wait for him outside.

Megure : Yeah, that's right.... It was a murder. After he was strangled to death, he was hung from the ceiling....

Kogorou : B-but that's impossible....

Megure : We found fingerprints not belonging to the victim on the rope and ceiling. I'm sure of it!

Kogorou : WHO WOULD DO SUCH A THING AND WHY?!

Megure : The motive might have been money. Everything of possible value had been taken out of his apartment. The only things left were his cats. We still don't know who did it, but looking at the large handprints around his throat, it was probably the work of a very large man.... Practically a giant....

Kogorou : A giant....?

Kogorou ask shock. Megure then take out a pair of glasses to show it to Kogorou then hand it to him to observe.

Megure : We didn't find the victim's daughter, who you told us about, but we did find these near the scene of crime....

Kogorou : THESE ARE....! MASAMI-SAN'S GLASSES! Then Masami-san's....

Megure : Yes.... We haven't found a body yet, but it'll probably turn up somewhere....

Kogorou grit his teeth after he heard what Megure said. He then excuses himself out. As he come out of the police station, Ran greeted him. Without the four of you realising, someone is observing every inch of your actions.

On the way back to the agency, Kogorou have told exactly what Megure have told him to you, Conan and Ran. As Ran listen to what her father said, tears started to form in her eyes.

Kogorou : Hey, hey, don't get so down....

Ran : So Masami-san might have been murdered....?

Kogorou : Y-yeah....

Ran : She worked so hard just to see her father only to have this happen to her.... IT'S TOO AWFUL!!

Ran exclaim as she started to cry. Kogorou, seeing her daughter cry, tried to sooth her.

Kogorou : She may not have been killed! She might just have been taken away by the murderer.... The police are gonna help us look for her too, so don't be so pessimistic....

As Kogorou tried to sooth Ran, you and Conan just look at them. You and Conan were both deep in thought.

Conan : That's right, Ran.... You can't give up yet!! If we can find Masami-san before it's too late.... But, what should we do....? There aren't enough leads. If only there was some kind of sign....

Erena : Oji-san's right. We can't give up yet!! Before it's too late, we need to find Masami-san. But, how? We don't have any clue. If only we have tracking device...... WAIT!!

As both you and Conan were deep in thought, something click inside you both.

Conan : Wait a minute, that time at the apartment.... I was going to stick the transmitter for pursuit glasses on Ran. But, I ended up putting it on Masami-san's wristwatch!!

Erena : That day Masami-san come over to ask Oji-san for help, Conan wanted to try out the new device we just got from professor. THE TRANSMITTER!! If I remember correctly, Conan accidently put the transmitter on Masami-san's.... HER WRISTWATCH!!

You and Conan come to a conclusion. However, both of your reaction is different as you keep silent and quiet while Conan yell out in realization that startled you a bit, since you're right next to him.

Conan : AAAHHHH!!!!

Conan yell out catching Kogorou and Ran attention. They stop on their track and turn their head towards Conan. Conan, as he notices that he accidently make Kogorou and Ran to look at him suspiciously. He started to laugh making Kogorou and Ran to dismiss it.

Conan : AHAHAHAHA! Oh my god! I can't believe I forgot something so important!

Conan thought as he quietly went behind a phone booth with you following closely beside him. He then takes off his glasses and you lean closer to him to get a good look.

Conan : Oh, it's moving.... Maybe Masami-san is still alive. The location is 4km to the northwest, in Shinjuku.

Conan thought as he wears the glasses and run to where the transmitter is. You follow behind him. Even though you're a girl, you can keep up with Conan speed thanks to your karate training. You guys keep running, following the signal on the glasses and ignoring everything and everyone around you both.

Conan : That isn't very far! Hurry!! I've got to get there in time!.... Okay, one more kilometre. I just need to turn the corner!

Conan then turn to a corner with you following suit. Once he stops running, you did the same. The both of you look to the front to see a pachinko building.

Erena : A pachinko building?! Masami-san's here....?!

Conan : Crap, the batteries are running out.... Hurry! I've got to find her quickly.... Not here! Where is she?! Where could she be?!

Conan run inside the building while you stand at the front door didn't dare to go in with such a small body.

Conan roam around inside the pachinko building not realizing someone is walking in front of him. This resulting in him bumping to the person's leg making him fall. He looks up to see a really big man standing in front of him.

Big man : Tch.... Quit running around like that.... Brat....

The big man said while walking away, meanwhile Conan look at his glasses that have run out of power.

Conan : Nooo, the power ran out!! But she's got to be around here.... If the professor's invention is accurate....

Conan ran around inside the pachinko when a hand grabs his shoulder turning him around and dragging him out of the pachinko. Conan who was a bit startle look at the culprit, you.

Once you both are outside, you show him your pocket mirror. He took it and see that the transmitter is not in the pachinko building, but is moving away from it.

He wanted to follow it and so he tried to grab you pocket mirror, but you close it and keep it in your pocket. He looks at you confuse.

Conan : Why would you do that? We can track her now!!

Erena : I know! But you need to remember that we are not teenagers anymore. We're kids. We have limited power. We need to go back and get Oji-san and Inspector Megure.

Conan look at you for awhile and he heave a sigh then nod. You guys then went back to the agency.



Kogorou : HEY!! WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN ALL THIS TIME?!

As soon as you guys step inside the office, Kogorou yell at the both of you making you both flinch as you move behind Conan. Seeing you hiding from him, Kogorou then feel guilty, but didn't say a word.

Conan : Um, just outside.... Shit, the professor's gadget didn't work when I needed it the most.

You and Conan then walk the couch where Kogorou is sitting and you see Ran staring out the window.

Erena : What's wrong with Ran-neechan?

You ask Kogorou making Conan turn to look at Ran.

Kogorou : She's been like that ever since we got back. She won't pay attention to me when I talk to her. She must be really worried about Masami-san.... Sheesh....

You and Conan look at Ran until she calls out to Kogorou.

Ran : He, Otou-san.... That person's acting kind of strange. He's been watching us for a really long time....

Ran said making you, Conan and Kogorou to walk up to her and look out the window. Ran then point to that mysterious looking guy with a pair of black sunglasses and a long coat looking at the agency suspiciously from a dark valley.

Ran : Look, the man with the sunglasses....

Kogorou : YOU-YOU MEAN HIM?! He's that guy we saw lurking around Hirota-san's apartment! That suspicious guy!! And speaking of which, the inspector said the criminal was a very large man....

Ran : Then he.... He's the one who did that to Masami-san's father....

Ran said with venom lacing in her words. Kogorou quickly turn to the door and run to it with Conan in tow while yelling at Ran. Meanwhile you went to the kitchen to make a drink for the guest.

Erena : If he really did kill Masami-san's father, why would he stalk us. I better go to prepare something to have when they brought him here.

Kogorou : ALRIGHT, WAIT HERE RAN!! I'LL GO CATCH HIM AND FIND OUT WHERE HE'S HIDDEN MASAMI-SAN....

Out of nowhere, Ran get on the railing making both Conan and Kogorou to look at her wide eyes halting their movement. Ran then proceed on jumping down from the second floor worrying Kogorou as he quickly went out of his office and skip down the stairs.

Ran safely land on the ground and walk to the mysterious guy intimidatingly.

Ran : Where is she.... WHERE DID YOU TAKE MASAMI-SAN?!

The man then turns around out of the alley and straight to his car while Ran yell out for him to stop. The man got in his car and close the door locking it. Ran jump a bit and then kick the driver mirror startling the man and unlocking the door after taking out her leg. She then opens the driver door quickly and drag the man out. Seconds later, Kogorou and Conan arrive.

Ran : I've got him Otou-san!!

Kogorou : All right!! YOU'VE GOT SOME NERVE FOR A CRIMINAL COMING HERE! DID YOU THINK YOU COULD TAKE ME ON?!

Kogorou yell as he grabs the man collar. The man then finally answers.

Man : I-I'm not a criminal!

Kogorou : THEN WHAT?! WHO ARE YOU?!

Man : I'm the same as you....

Kogorou : WHAT?!

Man : I'm also a detective....

Kogorou : Eh?

The man said making Ran, Conan mad Kogorou dumbfounded. Kogorou let go of the man collar making the man fall to the ground. The man then rummages through his pocket, taking out a photo and show it to Kogorou, Ran and Conan.

Man : I've been wandering if you and I were both asked to do the same thing....

Kogorou : The same thing?

Man : I was told to look for Hirota-san, by this man....

Kogorou : Hm?

Conan : That-that guy?!
