Ayumi and Conan stood in their place not knowing what to do. As the door open, Conan drag Ayumi to hide behind the locker in the corner. At the door, came in a woman wearing a long dark green dress with a long grey hair.

She walks inside the room bringing a tray of food and put it in front of the cell all the while Conan is looking from behind the locker and covering Ayumi's mouth to prevent her from screaming or making any noise.

Conan : Food?

The Woman : Another nightmare, eh....? Poor thing. But that was all five years ago. Hurry and forget about it. Once someone's dead, they'll never come back....

Conan : Someone's dead....? Five years ago....?

Conan thought and then remember about the homicide that's happen in that very mansion.

Conan : They aren't talking about the owner of the house who was murdered five years ago, are they....? Then, those two must be....

Conan then take a good look at the two people face and figure seeing a similarities from the picture he found in the study room.

Conan : I see, now it's all coming together.... The secret of this house and the truth behind the case....

The Woman : Well it up....

The woman said to the man in the cell as she pushes the tray of food into the cell. The man then throws the food away.

The Woman : I'm not keeping you locked up here to torment you.... I'm only thinking of your future....

Conan : I see. Then the killer was....

As Conan was peeking and hearing the conversation of the two people, Ayumi who was staying beside him accidently touch a broom behind her with her feet making the broom falling to the floor making both Ayumi and Conan panic.

Before the broom could fall to the floor making a noise and shows their hiding place, Conan reach out his leg catching the broom stick. Ayumi and Conan heave a sigh of relief as Conan then take the broom quietly and lean it back on the wall.

But then, the pail on the locker started to move from the move they accidently put on the locker making it fall to the floor and a loud sound of the pail falling on the floor can be heard throughout the room. This gain the woman attention as she turns to where Conan and Ayumi are hiding. Conan and Ayumi then froze in their place behind the locker.

The Woman : Well, it seems there were more little rats hiding about than the other two I found earlier.... Come out now....! You can't hide any longer. Well....

The woman said walking to the locker slowly while holding a knife in her right hand. Before she could come close, Conan open his mouth.

Conan : Heh.... We can't hide any longer....? I should be saying that to you oku-san....

Ayumi : C-Conan-kun?!

Conan : I saw it in the study.... The photo of you and the owner of this house, who was murdered five years ago. And right beside you were probably your son! Yes, THE MAN INSIDE THE CELL!! His appearance has changed completely, but the mole under his eye hasn't changed a bit! I could tell something was strange the moment I set foot in here! I'd heard that the rest of his family moved out after the case. But the water and electricity to this mansion were never cut off....

Erena : Is he wrong? As he said, the water and electricity to this mansion were never cut off. No one would pay the water bills of an empty house just for the fun of it. And then that entrance, hidden in such an inconspicuous spot surrounded by those old bricks, the wood on the door looks brand new in comparison. It was probably made after the murder, to serve as an entrance and exit, away from the prying eyes....

You said continuing the deduction, leaning on the wall outside the room. Hearing your voice, Conan smirk while Ayumi stand beside Conan confuse and scared. As the woman heard your voice came from outside of the room, she turns to the door looking terrified. Conan then continues.

Conan : But why would it be necessary to make people think that no one was living here? And why must your son be locked up in a jail cell? Your conversation just now has helped me solve most of those puzzles....

The Woman : Wh-who-WHO ARE YOU?!

The woman shouts out in fear. Conan then come out of his hiding place and show himself to the woman.

Conan : Edogawa Conan! DETECTIVE!!!

Ayumi : De....

The Woman : Detective....?

After Conan introduce himself, you enter the room by opening the door bigger making a sound as the door is old and the woman to turn to you.

Erena : I am Akane Erena. A detective too.

You claim making all in the room except you and Conan surprised. Conan look at you, relief that you're okay. You look at Conan and nod to him for him to continue. He then turns back to look at the woman who're still looking at you and continued laying out his deduction. This makes the woman to turn back to him.

Conan : Two possibilities can be considered from the circumstances!! First, it was you, his wife who had killed him and you locked up your son, the only witness. The other case is, the one who was the murderer was, HIS SON OVER THERE!! You knew that your son committed the crime, so you hid the truth and protected him!! But the crime was too severe for your son to handle. The odd wails supposedly heard from the mansion were most likely your son's cries of anguish. You thought that perhaps your son would turn himself up to the police because of the guilt, but you wouldn't let him....

Erena : And you kept him locked up in this cell until he changed his mind or the case was considered over! Yes, you wholeheartedly wished your son wouldn't become a convict, so you chose not to let him take one step out and hid him inside instead. From your previous conversation and watching your reactions just now. The one who killed the man of the house was....

The Woman : SHUT UP!!

The woman shouted and raise her knife to you making you stand in your karate pose, eyes sharp looking at the woman. Before the knife could touch you, you avoided it by moving to the left and quickly chop on the woman's wrist just enough to make her release the knife. You then kick the knife away from her reach to Conan and move away from the woman who's holding her wrist in paint.

Erena : WHAT IS THE USES OF YOU BEING LIKE THIS, LOCKING YOUR SON AND HIDING HIM FROM THE POLICE WHEN YOU KNEW THAT HE IS IN THE WRONG!! YOU AS HIS MOTHER NEED TO CORRECT HIM, SHOW HIM THAT HE NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBLE OF EVERYTHING THAT HE DID NO METTER BAD OR GOOD HIS ACTIONS IS!! YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT HE KILLED HIS FATHER WITH HIS OWN HANDS!!!

The Man : STOP!!! Please stop it already. They're right.... THAT'S RIGHT!! THE ONE WHO KILLED TOU-SAN WAS ME!!

The Woman : A-Akio....

Akio : It was five years ago.... The night I failed the university entrance exams for the third time in a row....

Flashback

Akio's Father : WHAT?! YOU FAILED IT AGAIN?!

Akio : ......

Akio's Father : Hmph! You are a shame to this family.... No, you're a scum!! Nothing, but scum!!

Akio's father said making Akio who are already depressed from failing the exam even more depressed and mad. Without thinking, Akio then silently pick up the candle holder and smash his father's head from behind with it.

Akio's mother who heard the ruckus came into the room to see her husband sprawling on the floor, blood everywhere around him and on her son with her son holding the bloody candle holder.

Akio's Mother : Akio? D-DEAR?!

Akio : Kaa-san, I-I....

Seeing her son petrified look, she holds him in her arms and reassure him. Akio buried his face in her mother's shoulder.

Akio's Mother : Don't worry Akio.... Your Kaa-san will protect you....

Akio : K-Kaa-san!!

END OF FLASHBACK

Akio : When I realised what had happened, I was gripping a blood-soaked candelabra and my father was completely sprawled out on the floor.... What happened afterwards was just as you said. Kaa-san made it seems like a robbery and I was put into this cell. BUT ABOVE ALL, I DON'T WANT TO LIVE IN FEAR WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT I KILLED MY FATHER!! I WANT TO MAKE UP FOR MY CRIME AND BE SET AT EASE!! Aaaaaaahhhhhh....

Akio's Mother : HANG IN THERE AKIO!! A little bit more, just a little bit more!! If we stay quiet, no one will....

Conan : Yes.... If you stay hidden like this, you'll be able to get away from the police. But you will never escape your crime.... Oku-san, are you trying to force your son, to carry this burden for his entire life?

Conan said making Akio's mother to cry as she falls on her knees.



The dreadful night turned to day and the mansion was covered with warm light. The two who got lost during the ordeal were found sleeping peacefully together in the unkempt grass outside. It seemed that the woman somehow managed to anaesthetise them and tossed them out of the house.

The woman and her son turned themselves in to the police that day and the mystery case was solved after long years. Of course, afterwards, our parents were severely angry and made us swear never to do something of that sort again.

But, luckily to Erena, she didn't get scolded though since she just pass out because of the tiredness from moving around the mansion and not sleeping the entire day and also didn't consume any food. And there went the ending our first and last adventure. However,....
