I smiled at him, feeling the wind as it whipped my hair around my face and I extended my hand out to him.
He looked at me before gazing down at my outstretched and bloodied hand, a small smile gracing his lips.
Shutting the door behind him, he placed his hand in mine.

A suffocating kind of silence settled in the car as we rode back and even if questions crowded my mind, I didn't break the silence.
Even as we pulled up to the mostly empty parking lot, the silence remained.
As we nonchalantly walked through the reception and into the elevator, It remained. It remained as we patiently waited for the lift to take us to our floor and it remained as we split up to reach our separate rooms, neither one of us even daring to bid each other goodbyes.
Opening the door to my hotel room, I breathed a sigh of relief.
I didn't bother with switching the light on, instead choosing to just walk straight to the bed and collapse onto it, kicking my shoes off in the process.
I snuggled up into the comfortable sheets and stretched my hands out, but instead of hitting more of the cool sheets, they touched something warm and hard.
I sat up with the speed of a cheetach, scrambling to switch the lights on as soon as possible.
When light filled the room and my eyes had adjusted, my body relaxed.
Jamie.
"What the hell?" I said, my hand going to rest over my thundering heart.
He didn't reply, continuing to stare at me from the bed.
I slowly paced over to the bed, this time taking my jacket off before sitting down and laying my head against the headboard.
"Where have you been?" He asked, refusing to break the eye contact growing heavier by the second.
I hid my surprise at his question, smiling a little and putting on a confused face.
"I've just been around the hotel, why?"
He scoffed and looked away, obviously looking through my thinly veiled lie. My heart started to pound faster against my ribcage as I waited for his answer.
"Cut the crap, Ads. I know you weren't here."
My heart dropped to my toes as his powerful voice filled the room. Our eyes connected from opposite sides of the bed, his seeming to challenge and mine not backing down.
"Do you need me to ask again?" He said, his eyes drilling into mine.
I held my gaze steady, careful not to give myself away.
I just had to work from a different angle.
"I'm 24 years old, I don't answer to you," I replied, refusing to break away from his stare.
I knew I was right, even if he didn't realize it. He lost the privilege of knowing what the hell was going on in my life the day he went rogue without telling me.
It was about time I got that point across.
Plus, Jaekyung had made her interests with him crystal clear and if I valued what we had, even in the slightest, I had to back away from him.
Unfortunately, he went on the defensive, his body tensing up and his forehead creasing.
"Seriously Ads? You're playing that card?" He shouted, his voice growing louder in volume as he continued to speak.
Why was he reacting this way?
"Why are you obsessed with this?" I answered, pushing myself off the bed.
He followed suit, standing up to his full height.
"This is why." He shouted, a small vein in his forehead starting to protrude as he slipped something out from behind him, throwing it down on the middle of the bed.
I gasped, not able to hide my surprise at his discovery.
Silence settled in the room as I stared at the my stolen notebook, unbelieving that he had found it
"What is this Ads? Why have you been collecting information on all of us?"
I quickly leaned down, trying to snatch the notebook into the safety of my grasp but predicted my move, leaning over and grasping my wrist, pulling me down onto the bed next to the notebook.
"You looked through my things." I said, my voice leaving no room for discussion.
He nodded, sitting down next to me.
"I don't recall telling you to do that."
He hummed in response, picking up the notebook and flicking through the pages, landing on the section dedicated to him.
It had slipped my mind that Jamie knew Latin too
"Jamie, former lover," he paused, looking at me out of the corner of his eye before continuing, "multiple screwups that have lead to missions being derailed."
He sighed as I sat in silence, already familiar with what I wrote about him.
"What are his motives?"
His voice was void of any emotion as he read the last thing I wrote.
"Why is most of my page scribbled over?" He asked, curiosity lacing his tone.
I glanced at him, refusing to speak.
"Ads." He pushed, stressing my name.
I swallowed.
"They were theories that I felt were too far fetched." I admitted, knowing that he would be able to see through my lie if I tried.
"I just assumed the worst." He finished, his voice much softer, wavering at the end.
I sighed, as I looked at him.
He seemed so broken, vulnerable.
"I'm sorry," I said, my voice soft.
Truth be told, I wasn't even sure what I was apologizing for, it just seemed right in the moment.
Jamie sighed and silence settled between us yet again as I contemplated what I could tell him.
Whether I could trust him or not.
With the damning accusations Mano made against Jamie in my head, I decided that it was better to be safe than sorry.
"Where were you?" He asked, his voice a mere whisper.
I moved so that I rested on the headboard, choosing not to answer him.
I knew exactly how to push his buttons.
I watched his face as all the pent up emotions he's kept inside him reached the surface, almost making me smile.
What I didn't expect, though, was him to grunt out of frustration, and move so fast so that he was straddling me, his hands resting on either side of my head, trapping me in.
"Tell me." He whispered, our faces mere millimetres from each other.
I swallowed, I had to tell him something.
"I got my period and had to find a shop that sold the brand that I wanted, it took longer than usual." I lied, finding myself get lost in his big brown eyes.
I saw a look of surprise flash across his face as he registered my answer.
He probably wasn't expecting me to actually answer.
He didn't move and neither did I, the heat between us growing by the minute.
His hand lowered, resting on the side of my face, brushing away a few strands of stray hairs.
I had to stop myself from leaning into his tempting touch, my mind wandering to all the times we spent in similar situations.
"I guess I'll be going then."
I nodded my answer, not trusting myself to speak.
His gaze lingered for a second too long before he took his weight off me, taking his warmth with him.
I wrapped my arms around myself as I stood up from the bed, using every bit of restraint to stop myself from calling out to him.
He padded towards the door, averting his eyes from mine but I could tell that the gears in his head were turning at my answer.
My stomach churned, feeling discontent at his rapid acceptance of my fib.
Did he really believe it?
I got my answer when he turned around just as he walked out the door.
"Did it really take you three hours to buy pads?"
I looked him straight in the eyes as I answered, "yes."
He took one last lingering look at me before squinting his eyes slightly, nodding and turning away without uttering a goodbye.
Just as I was about to turn into bed for the second time that night, I caught a fleeting glimpse of dark hair and a thin frame.
Jaekyung.
How much had she heard?
