The Patriarch of Arisonata family received a letter from his favorite daughter.
He is so happy and called all his concubine and nephew and niece to brag.
"A letter from Charm arrive. It seems she is promoted as a core disciple of the head master of the Sect." There is composure in the patriarch tone but you can tell him boasting too.
Angeline's eyes dilated and her body trembles. Her mother and other concubine looks at her. The less impressive daughter.
These past few months they all talk about Charm being a disgraced and laughable for getting her engagement annulled.
But now it seems the wind will shift.
Angeline force a smile.
"That is wonderful, father."
The patriarch nods. "She also said that her master allowed her to come home for a week." There is that satisfied smile in the end.
Angeline trembles again.
"That is good husband, should we prepare our best carriage to wait upon Charm?" Angeline's mother smiles.
After Charm's mother died she was not yet promoted as the main wife but she assumes the position anyways.
The patriarch shakes his head. "It seems Braddy asks Charm to ride with her."
Angeline eyes dilated. Her mother grabs her hand to make her shut up what ever she wanted to say.
Angeline lower her head even more saying nothing.
"That is good that they are being friendly." Angeline's mother laughs.
The Patriarch laugh too. The other concubine find it ridiculous and find opportunity to add the obvious anger in Angeline's distorted face.
Angeline is so mad that she excused herself and said she is not feeling well.
"That woman! That womaaaaaan!" She angrily throws her vase and anything she can touch. The maid hurriedly avoid and stands behind Angeline.
Angeline angrily cried. She will makes Charm pay for angrying her.
--
Charm suddenly felt excited.
"What's wrong?" Lan asks.
She is currently pouring tea for him. He is in the garden and reading something.
"Suddenly, I felt like I am full of energy." Shekki said with a grin.
Lan looks at her and then back to what he is reading.
"Master allowed you to leave for a week but in my opinion you should just go for 3 days."
"Senior will miss me?" Shekki happily crouch to look at Lan's face with her expectant gaze.
Lan stands up and left but he went back again drank his tea.
"Thanks for the tea." And left.
Shekki laughs. "He is so strange."
"Tell me about it." Melvin said.
"Ekkkk???! You scared me Senior. Since when are you here?" Shekki asks.
"Been here the whole time." Melvin said grinning. He points at the tea. "Will you pour me some?"
"Okay. Wait....You are here all along? Why didn't you say something?" Shekki asks as she pours him tea in the same cup Lan used.
Melvin looks at the tea cup but sighs and drink it anyways.
"I am not concealing my presense. It's just you two are so absorb in each other. You even act cute in front of him." Melvin teases her.
Shekki blushes and rubs her cheeks with glee.
"It's in female's nature to act cute in front of a hottie."
Melvin chuckles.
"But for Lan to allow you to act like that, you really win him over."
Shekki eyes sparkles.
"Really? If I greet him outside will he stops to greet me back?" Shekki asks.
In the novel, Lan is the most aloof and head master's disciple.
At least Elias will snorts at people, Lan will directly pretend they don't exist.
Orbit is....she is not really sure if Orbit appeared in the story. He is always missing in action afterall.
Melvin looks like he is thinking. Then he smiles. "Maybe. I am not really sure cause he is Lan."
Shekki slumps her shoulder. "Right~ It's hard to tell cause he is Senior Lan."
"But you make it possible to greet Master. Master is more impossible feat."
Shekki laughs. "Senior, I greet master but he just nods his head toward me most of the time."
"He called your name and nods at you." Melvin smiles. "That's already unimaginable even to us his old disciple."
"Really????!! I feel like I did something awesome!"
Melvin rubs her head. "You did."
Shekki happily smiles.
