"This is the fault of Forest Wolves territory and Elm Tribe." Grand Elder Plum inform Cole and Celia when they arrived at a certain location of the forest.
Cole nodded his head as he perceive an indistinct but unique scent of urine. He heard that peeing is the unique way of territory marking of wolves. It seems that even in this world, wolves have the same characteristic like of those at planet Earth.
"Canines unique territorial marking is already a common knowledge among every intelligent creatures. Knowing cultivators keen sense of smell, no matter how faint the scent is, it's still very easy for them to detect it. Yet, they still barge into the wolves territory." Mayana look at the others and add, "It's either they underestimate the strength of the beast in the territory or they are confident with their capabilities."
"We'll know once we arrived at the battlefield." Cole said.
"Our relationship with Forest Wolves are quite good. Normally, there's a lone or a two Green Wolf in this location as stand-by for communication. But there's no one now, probably they were called for battle."
They then crossed and finally crossed at the wolves territory and Mayana immediately flew towards southeast side, the Forest Dryad she communicate just a while ago might have told her where the intruders and forest wolves meet.
But she suddenly remembered something crucial, Cole and the little lady with him are both just a Nascent Soul-Stage, they were still unable to fly. Yet when she look back, she saw that they were flying along with them, they even don't have a problem catching up to them. Then she saw the book that could even open a spatial passage... This might be the item they use to fly.
Not long after, they started to hear growls, howls, whimpers of wolves and loud cry of humans. They reached the battlefield.
"This group of pest! They dare to block our path!"
Grr~~
"What are you whining for? Just focus on eliminating them, they're still money!"
Woo~~
"Right, right, although they are all low level beast but with their numbers, we could still make a huge profit!"
"Just make sure that you won't kill the others specially the Alpha of the pack and also those with Sky-Rank Beast Bloodline, Forest Wolves! They will be refine, er no, tame for our Beast Taming Sect!"
"But you must compensate us! Those are the valuables from this group!"
"It's a deal!"
"But I didn't know that this Dark Forest is actually a treasure trove! Who would've thought!"
...
Cole and the company listen to the intruders' confident but insulting remarks.
He don't know if they do it intentionally but they sure as hell don't try to lower their voices while 'assessing' their 'gain' with the wolves pack. This actually makes the whole pack more aggressive and Savage, disregarding their life and just swarm the enemy, which is very bad for wolves since their strength comes with both number and cooperation. Now that their mind was clouded with rage, their cooperation crumbled right away.
Whoosh—
Suddenly, a shadow past them and a wolf with great resemblance to Greeny, the Green Wolf who was currently Celia's tamed beast for her beast tamer identity, appear in front of their group.
"Good that you're here, Mayana." Said of a wolf as tall as human despite on all fours. "It seems that those elves that you send outside got caught by them and should be here for your tribe," She added.
But what's amazing is the wolf said this without even opening its mouth, it seems that it use some kind of telepathic abilities.
"Don't be surprise, Master, the wolf beast communicate using [Divine Sense]." Celia's voice rang out inside Cole's head. "Intelligent creatures might create their civilization, develop their own language and unique way communication, developing distinctions, but every creature's soul still remain sharing one language."
"Oh..."
"My tribe brought problems to your pack..." Matriarch Mayana said, a little sad.
The wolf shake her head, "Nonsense! Your tribe members might have lead those idiots here, but they still enter my territory! There's no way I'll let them do anything they want!" She then look at Cole's position and add, "Besides, I don't like humans in the first place, treating us no different as goods!" It was very insulting!
"Ehem, ehem," Grand Elder Fern cough twice, "Pack leader, this is our benefactor Cole and his subordinate, lady Celia. They were the one who help us with our Tree of Life. Please show us some face and be kind to them."
Like the pack leader of this Forest Wolves, Grand Elder Fern, or perhaps majority if not all the members of their tribe, also don't like humans in general. It was because just like beast, human cultivators hunted down elves for their own wicked use. However, while humans hunted beast mostly for their body parts, like claws and fur, to be use for their weapons or equipments, elves were hunted down to be use as dual cultivation furnace. They were used in sexual intercourse, robbing them of their life force just for humans to advance their cultivation.
That was why elves also hate humans in general, but this certain human is different. Not only he help their Tree of Life, their sacred tree even choose willingly to submit to him, further signifying that he's a good person. Which is why he can't take it that their Lord was scorned upon.
When the wolf pack leader saw the that Mayana and Grand Elders silently agree, she knew that this human's position and merit with them are good. And knowing elves noble and high disposition, they won't defend other creatures, specially a human of that, if they don't do something grand for them. It seems like this human really do help them regarding with their Tree of Life, just like how they silently telling her.
Still, she don't like to agree that easily!
"Hmph! If I didn't know any better, this human might be one of them and also might be the one who brought them here!" She grumbled, deliberately loudly as though fearing that they won't be able to hear it. "Alright, I'll give you elves some face this time and temporarily clear my doubt for this human!"
"Clear temporarily?" Celia ask, anger seeping in her voice.
Eventhough doubting a stranger is normal, she can't still help but feel insulted when she saw the wolf look at Cole with disdain.
Cole is her Master, technically, he's the superior among their relationship. So when the dog look at him with disdain as if he was inferior, then what about her? Since he's inferior in the dog's eye, then what about her? She's a thrash then?
Not only she insult her as a Dragon, but her as a Divine Dragon! Among the lineage of beasts, Divine's are only inferior to one, and that is the True's, and they were superior among many!
This Heaven-Rank Beast Bloodline, Forest Guardian Wolf, actually look down on her?!
"It's alright, Celia. Remember that they're not our enemy." Cole reminded her, trying to sooth her anger.
"Hmph!" She sneered at the wolf, who might be the luna of this Forest Wolves pack, then she look at her straight to her eyes and let out her [Dragon's Aura] for a second! "A bunch of dogs..."
The proud and full of pride luna wolf immediately wither and lower her head in instant!
Goodness! That's a real Dragon prestige! She might even have a high-rank Dragonic Bloodline according to the pressure she excert, definitely not even lower than Heaven-Rank. After all, even she, a luna of a pack with Heaven-Rank Wolf Bloodline make her tuck her tail in fear.
How could she offend such a noble beast?!
Meanwhile, the elves are also surprised and look at Celia at a new light. They might not be a beast and can't be pressured by bloodline royalty but the pressure she released still affect them. Who would've known that this obedient little girl in the side of their Lord are an expert of high caliber?
"Please bring us to the battlefield. Your whole pack will be endanger the longer we delay here." Cole said, trying to lessen the heavy and gloomy atmosphere.
The wolf jolted at his words and immediately stand up, "Please, follow me. My mate, the Alpha, and the whole Forest Wolves pack, will be grateful with your assistance..." She then lead the way.
Not long after and they arrived at the battle scene. The wolves and human intruders are still in tangle, however, there were already a number of bleeding and stilled wolves on the ground, probably defeated or worse killed. Meanwhile, the humans don't have many casualty, only one have a mutilated arm. There's a great disparity since the wolves already have many casualties, probably more than ten.
"A human? It seems like the other elven warrior send do found an assistant." Said of one of the elder in the intruders group.
On the other hand, the largest wolf, who seems like the Alpha of the pack, along with other wolves in the beast side, immediately growl at Cole's company with great hatred in their eyes. But seconds later, the Alpha barked once and all of it stopped, then he look at the pack luna with doubtful gaze and give Celia a glance. It seems like the luna informed him telepathically, specially about Celia.
The Alpha approach Cole's group. He stop in their front and bowed to Celia first, "M'lady, the whole Dark Forest's Forest Wolves pack are very greatful with your presence..."
Celia just nod at him. Everyone had their own pride. Although she knew that the pack luna only did that because she don't know them at all, she felt that her pride as a Divine Dragon are still insulted. It was hard for her to fully forgave them.
But if they want to be on her good side again, well, there's a very effective way to pacify a Dragon. They only have to gift her with many treasures...
As she thought of that, a ruthless glint pass through her eyes...
The pack Alpha didn't got offended by Celia's silent dismissal. He then look at Elven Matriarch and said, "It seems that elves are quite sorry for the trouble they brought to our pack, sending the Matriarch herself as an aid." He said sarcastically.
Mayana nodded her head, not even trying to deny the accusation, "Yes, it's elves fault. Our Elm Tribe will try our best to compensate your whole pack."
The Alpha nodded his head, "Don't worry, this is not your whole Elm Tribe's fault. It was on our own accord to intercept them."
Their pack could have stay out of the trouble by not antagonizing this human's group. But what's the sense of having their own territory if they'll just let the intruders do what they want to do in their area of influence?
Besides, the elves was good with their pack. Eventhough they are more powerful than them, they still choose to coexist with them, not bothering on conquering their pack and territory. They even trade with them with unique elven products like potions of different kinds. Those potions greatly boost their pack, reaching their current height and strength.
"Little boy, we're greatful to you for bringing us the elves here. It save us from more trouble! Hahahaha!!!"
Exclaimed a savaged looking man then laugh maniacally at Cole's direction which prompt him to look at his direction, a frown etched on his forehead.
However, his eyes squinted when he saw a red skull tattoo on the man's neck,
Red Skull Bandit!
