Xander POV

"I- while I was finishing up sorting the last file," she paused, "Evan came in-" she mumbled out quickly.

"What the fuck did you just say?" I stopped walking and turn my head to look at her. Evan was close a friend and member, but that meant absolutely nothing at the moment. Based on her body language and the look in her eyes, I could tell she wasn't lying. She was far too afraid of me to lie, and she didn't have any reason to lie at the moment. Evan was the only one in this office besides Harley, I failed to see how Evan could benefit from anything in those files, but I had the feeling I was going to find out soon. My rage was boiling up as I thought about Evan betraying me and, moreover, him involving Harley. "I told you no one was allowed in here. Not even Evan." I barked.

"I-I know but-" She started, but I stopped her.

"But What? There is no excuse!" She flinched at the loudness of my voice. " Why did you let him in here?" The door should've been locked the entire time, so the only way he could've gotten in was if she unknowingly gave him access. Were they friendly with each other in that way?

"I-I didn't. He just walked in." she shook my head repeatedly. "I just assumed since he is your friend that it wasn't a big deal." She had yet to learn that friends don't mean anything in this industry. Her reasoning sounded so ridiculous to me since I had already accepted such a thing. Not to mention the number of times I've had to deal with backstabbing pricks in the past.

"Friends? Are you serious?" I scoffed. "This isn't fucking high school, Harley."

"I-I-I know." She said, scrunching up her face. I hadn't realized how harsh I was acting towards her until I saw the tears begging to come out of her sorrowful eyes. I knew she didn't mean any harm, but yet I was probing at her without any leniency.

"What happened when he came in?" I sighed deeply, careful with my tone.

"I told him to leave, then H-he asked me about a file I was sorting," she replied. "Sir, I'm really sorry-" she began, but I didn't need to hear anymore, nor did I want her to apologize.

"Clean all this up. I'll be back. " I finished, then turned and began walking out of the office. Henry was waiting by the door as he heard all the words exchanged between Harley and me. "Where is he?"

"Storage House," Henry said casually, and we walked down the stairs to the main floor. " I heard he is looking at the ARs and FNs." He added. Those were just smuggled over from El Paso yesterday, but no one knew about them except Henry and Felipe. He's already on us; however, he isn't getting this info for himself.

"Fuck." I barked. He knows shit he shouldn't. Whoever he is getting this info for already knows too much.

"Make sure no one comes to the storage house. I want to be alone with him." I said, unbuttoning the cuffs on my sleeves and rolling them up neatly. "Take Felipe with you-" I started to say to Henry as we walked out the back door and outside towards the storage house. "Tear his fucking room apart; I don't care, just find that fucking file," I commanded as we made it to the medium-sized storage house. "Try and find his phone too."

"Yes, sir," Henry answered before turning around and jogging back to the house. Two guards, we always on post outside of the house, but they wouldn't have stopped Evan since he has authorization inside the house.

"No one comes in or out," I told them. Immediately but silent, they nodded their heads, showing they understood.

I wasn't a complicated man. I only favored three things: money, sex, and killing, and I hated them just as equally. But these things were all I was good at and good for. Killing came with the job, and it's the job I was given and the only job I've ever known. Things have to be done that are gruesome and bloody, but they are necessary. My father taught me these things at a young age, so now they are imbedded into my mind. So I'd be lying if I said I'm not going to enjoy this.

Snapping myself out of my own devilish thoughts, I pulled out my gun from behind my belt, making sure to cock it in readiness. I placed it back in its usual spot with one hand while I swung the door open with the other. Almost instantly, his body came in view. He stood casually, looking through the palettes of guns placed around the room.

"Evan." I smiled fakely at him as he turned around with surprised eyes to look at me.

"Boss. " he breathed out.

"Let's talk," I said before raising my fist to his face and aiming a shot right at his head. The impact must've been huge because he immediately fainted after that one shot. "That was no fun, Evan. I barely touched you," I chuckled to myself as I looked down at his unconscious body. Stepping over his body, I called to the guards outside. "Bring him to the basement," I instructed to the guards outside the door. "I don't want his blood messing up my floors."

Now is when all the fun begins.

——————————————

"Where is my stuff, Evan?" I asked after delivering yet another punch to his jaw. He woke up shortly after he was placed in the basement. I didn't waste any time fucking his face up. The loyalty he has to whoever he is working for is significant. If only he had that loyalty to me. "Where is the fucking file?" I growled, but yet again, he didn't budge.

"Fuck you, Xander. You think you're some type of god!" He spat at me.

I scoffed. No one calls me by my name except for my bastard father and my men close to me. Even so, they still barely do it. "Watch your mouth, Evan. You're not in any position to be talking to me like that." I laughed

"I thought we were equals! And friends." He yelled as he tried to push his way out of the restraints around his limbs.

"Fuck me." I chuckled. "Equals?" I asked while delivering a punch to his already busted mouth. "Does it still feel like we are equals, Evan," I growled while punched him again and again until I felt my knuckles burn from the repeated flexing.

"And friends are supposed to be trustworthy, not fuck each other over," I said

"I didn't fuck you over! That's what I've been trying to tell you!" He yelled.

"Really? Then tell me what the fuck happened to my stuff? Because you were the only fucker even close to that file." I said, stopping my pacing and standing in front of him with my arms over my chest.

"T-that girl." He said, "Her-" he began

"You know her name. Use it." I barked. He shut his mouth before opening it to speak again. With the mixture of sweat, blood, and spit, his face looked completely absurd.

"H-Harley, I saw her in your office yesterday. It had to be her." He gulped.

"We both know it wasn't her." I said, "So quit fucking around and answer me." I said, placing my gun on his kneecap softly. His face showed panic, and he began to move his tied up body frantically.

"It's true! I saw her in your office going through your files." He said desperately. I knew Harley didn't have the file, and he knew it too. Harley didn't even know what we're in those folders, and she sure as hell wouldn't dare steal one of them.

"I'm going to give you one last chance to speak to me, Evan, before I light your scrawny ass up." I sighed heavily.

"Who are you going to believe me or a bitch you just met-" he whined out.

"That's her fucking job. I've been very patient with you, and it's running out fast! Where the fuck is my file!" I growled, moving the gun to his feet and firing a shot-making his scream in pain. Blood began to flood the floor almost instantly.

"Boss, we got it." A voice entered the room. I turned my attention to the door and saw Henry walking in with the manila folder and phone in his hand.

"Was that so hard," I said, placing the gun back on his kneecap and setting it off.

"Fuck!" He screamed.

"Where was it?" I asked Henry, handing him the gun and taking the file from his hand.

"It was hidden in a hole in his mattress," Henry said

"Smart." I nodded my head as I flipped through the sheets. Nothing seemed to be missing, but that was insignificant.

"Who are you working for, Evan." I turned back to him. His face was twisted in pain, and tears slide down his cheeks.

"Answer him, Evan. It'll be over faster." Henry added.

"H-Huncho." He groaned out.

"You got to be fucking joking?" I scoffed. "For how long?"

"4 years." He admitted. Without another word, I grabbed my gun from Henry's hold and fired off three shots; one to his other kneecap, one his to other foot, and one in his shoulder.

"Put him in a cell. Make sure he stays alive. Were going to need him." I said, handing the gun back to Henry.

"Yes, sir."

With that, I exited the basement swiftly, making sure to take the phone from Henry before leaving. I need to know when and where this prick was exchanging information with Huncho. Evan was too convincing for anyone to catch. The fact that Harley unknowingly did stir up a feeling of excitement yet aggravation. Nonetheless, that bastard managed to take advantage of her and me. Now, who knows what the fuck Huncho knows, his bitch ass is so narcissistic he's probably pissing himself laughing in happiness. This was the big break his pussy gang needed. Even though he's never seen me, personally, I know Huncho, and he is sloppy and reckless. We should be able to infiltrate his workplace easily.

Huncho was the second biggest cartel in New Mexico and the west coast, us ( Riot Cartel) being first on the west coast. They were a silent rival gang, and they didn't cause many issues for us since we were way out of their league to begin with, but now it seems like they are making big moves. They have doubled their revenue in the past year, and I don't know how yet. After this incident, it's clear he was using Evan to get information regarding Daniel Miller and me I. Evan wasn't subtle in showing that. The files he stole were all regarding the agreement between the two of us. I'm unaware of exactly why Huncho wanted to know about the business between Daniel Miller and me, but I have a small idea of what he is trying to accomplish. Now, I just have to confirm it.

————————- Some new conflict has been introduced, and some new characters introduced!!! Daniel Miller is making a big scene now. Will Harley learn the truth soon? Why is Huncho involved? What is sirs' plan to learn more about Huncho and Daniel Miller?
