Harley's POV
"Please, follow me into the house." Huncho stuck his hand and gestured towards the house's large wooden double doors. "I'm so glad we could meet today, Mr. Boyd. I admire your work." Huncho cheesed. He moved so he was walking closely next to me. So close I could smell the booze on his breath and our arms kept touching. As Pedro said the amount of security he had was ridiculous not to mention they all had AK 47s strapped to their backs. I could tell that even Sir was surprised by his bluntness. His Adam's apple bobbed up and down while his eyes stayed looking forward. Abruptly he offered me a small smile before wrapping his swole arm around my waist and moving me closer into side. My eyes lingered on his face a little longer than necessary. He made a quick recovery, turning his frown to a large grin. My heart sped up a little at the sight. On the ride over here, my heart was practically in my throat. As much as I wanted to be pissed at Sir, all I could think about was not fucking up this whole operation. All I could think about was helping him. It seemed like Sir had a lot more faith in me than I did in myself. Which doesn't make much since I volunteered for this role.
"Thank you kindly." Sir purred. I had no idea what "work" Huncho was talking about but I smiled like I did.
"I cannot be more thankful that you entrusted me with such an important task." He continued the ass-kissing. If he only knew.
"Please. My friends spoke highly of you. It was only natural I came to you." Sir nodded.
"I'm glad. I'm sure I can meet all of your needs today." He flashed me a devious smile. His eyes stayed on mine for a while revealing a mischievous glint in his eye. "How about a tour of the place before we head to my office to talk business. I would love to show you the courtyard." his eyes only on me.
"Yes. Sure. That would be lovely." I nodded. He responded with a satisfied smile and a curt nod. The anxious stomach pain I've had the past 5 minutes had only grown stronger. The last thing I wanted to do was walk all around this place.
"Through these doors is our marvelous foyer." We filed through the door. Huncho first and us following behind him. His hand shot up motioning around him. There was a large crystal chandelier hung on the tall concrete ceiling. Fake foliage surrounded the entire room along with random vintage-looking chairs. The floors and walls were all overwhelmingly beige. The walls had large Victorian-style columns made into them.
"It's beautiful." I gawked "You have amazing taste." This place was obviously designed by a man. I guess Sir was the exception since he designed his estate to perfection.
"Yes, I must admit this place looks grand," Sir added. He wasn't the least bit impressed. In fact, I know for a fact he was dreading this entire tour idea. It's not like I could've refused Huncho's offer.
"You're both too kind." He looked at me even though he was addressing both of us. "Next we have the living room." He moved his little legs rapidly. Unlike at the estate, there was only one narrow wooden stairway leading upstairs. The place was overall poorly light and underwhelming. The decor was scarce, only obnoxiously large statues in corners of the room."Lastly the courtyard." He showed all his shiny veneers and pointed towards a couple tall glass sliding doors.
Long green ivy vines surrounded the entire courtyard. Every side of the square courtyard had hallways full of rooms. Each corner of the yard had large droopy trees and floors of moss and stone. I couldn't hide my genuine shocked feelings. My mouth cracked in astonishment. In the center of it all was massive gold buddha.
"Are you Buddhist?" I couldn't help but ask.
"Ah, you're familiar with Buddhism," he stalked towards me with a creepy smile. "Smart and beautiful," I chuckled awkwardly, my eyes still on the sizable object.
"I-I try." I stuttered out.
"You know, I went to visit one of the three Bodhi Trees last year." He started "Ever been?" He asked
"No no, A girl could only dream. India is such a beautiful country." I tried to remember everything Avery told me about Buddhism during her "Spiritual discovery" phase. In the end, she decided on being an atheist. She said being religious was too much work.
"Boyd, you gotta do better. Dig in your pockets and take her to India. If not, I'll have to steal her away and take her myself" He let a horrid startling laugh. I jumped at his loud breath intake as he clutched his stomach.
"We wouldn't want that, right dear?" Sir responded once Huncho sobered up. His grip tightened around my waist as he rested his hand on my hip.
"Of cou-" I started but my words quickly turned into a low-pitched yelp. There were a lot of unattractive things about me but this one takes the cake. I was more than ticklish in that particular area. Avery used to torture me by grabbing onto my hip bone. I used to laugh til I turned purple.
"Everything alright, darling?" Huncho asked. His face scrunched together in disgust. Sir peered down at me with pure confusion.
"I'm sorry. I think I have the hiccups." I lied. I think I could be good at this lying thing. I always tried my best to be truthful since lairs were my number pet peeve. However, in this situation lying was necessary and it came a little too naturally.
"Probably from all the excitement." Sir was still inspecting my face.
"Of course." Huncho laughed. "You must be overflowing with excitement" What the fuck does that mean?
"Surely." I nodded. "This party is going to be one for the books."
"Why don't we have a quick chat in the courtyard. I'd love to pick your brain." Huncho started. He stroked his wiry chin hair as he spoke. There wasn't much to pick my brain about, I knew little to nothing about Buddhist. I was now regretting opening my mouth in the first place. Sir has yet to talk over me or correct me so I guess everything was fine so far. Surely he would've stopped me by now.
"Great. Let's," I nodded. He smiled widely and began walking to a metal table surrounded by wooden stools close to the golden buddha. He motioned for us to sit in front of him which we did.
"As I was leaving India, last time I went, I decided I wanted to bring back something to commemorate how special and how powerful my trip was so I bought this and planted it right here for everyone to see." He patted the statue. Every minute that went by dragged on. Huncho talked and talked till I felt my eyes physically get heavier. When he said "pick my brain", I suppose he meant him talking the entire time and us listening. "Everything was Magnificent, Amazing- I spent the day with a Buddhist monk, learning the lifestyle and appreciating the culture."
"We'll definitely have to plan a trip." I looked up at sir who was already staring at me with a smirk dancing on his lips.
"Of course. Anything for mi princesa." He growled lowly, leaning over to me, his face buried in my neck. In shock I stayed frozen in my spot, hands in my lap looking forward. His hot minty breath hit my neck as he moved his tatted hand up to cup the other side of my face. His lips softly touch my ear causing a frenzy of chills to run through my body and a pool develops between my legs. "Keep talking. You've got to buy us some time." He whispered, "When I pull away don't react. Just smile." He quickly added was the last thing he said before pressing his lips to my cheek then pulling back and grinning at Huncho.
Buy us some time? Henry, Felipe, nor the Sanchez brothers haven't moved. What did they need time to do? Fixing my face swiftly, I shifted my gaze to Huncho once again.
"You must've missed your family, men, business. Was it hard being away from your home?" I chuckled humorlessly.
"Harder than you could imagi-" he paused. I leaned over in my chair to show my interest which made his eyes shoot my chest and glaze over my exposed breast. It was unintentionally but a good distraction. I nodded my head slowly with my head in my hand. "I needed a break from the business. Things weren't looking great at the time." He shrugged with the same creepy smile. Seeming as Huncho's "business"was selling drugs, I found it hard to believe he was struggling. He sure did look like he was struggling. Trips to India, large estate, and a big golden Buddha doesn't constitute as poor.
"What do you mean business didn't look gr-" I started but was interrupted.
"Darling, how are your hiccups?" Sir spoke up, his arm wrapping around my waist once again. Our closeness since the beginning sent hot flashes through my body. It was hard not to get shocked every time he touched me. Again, He pulled me close to his side comfortably. His hand went to my hip once more.
"Fi-" but suddenly his fingers dove into my hip bone making me let out an ear-piercing yelp.
"Still bothering you?" He looked at me once I recovered, a deep smirk on his face. My eyebrows furrowed at him for a while before a realization hit me. He did that on purpose but for what?
"Would you like some tea?" Huncho asked with concern. "My chef makes a great tea de Limon." He gestured toward the house. The look on Sir's face told me everything. We were terrible at communicating with words but for some reason reading each other came easy.
"Yes, please. That would be great. Thank you." I nodded my head.
"Two of my guards will escort you." He motioned to one of his guards.
"Hurry back." Sir pulled me down to him planting another kiss on my cheek and breathed into my ear "You're doing great baby." and pulled away leaving me stunned. What was I doing right?
