It was the next day and Amiyah didn't go to work because she was too worried about her friend. The only thing she could think about is how she just suddenly disappeared after she made an assumption about Lamar. She wanted to call the police but she didn't have any evidence so they weren't going to investigate.

Amiyah decided to FaceTime Dominic, and he answered.

"Hey", Amiyah said.

"What's up?", Dominic asked.

"Have you heard from Bianca lately?", Amiyah asked.

"Um, not since the baby shower", he replied.

Amiyah sighed. "Okay", she said.

"You okay?", he asked.

Amiyah shook her head. "I think that I made the wrong decision", she said.

"...about what?", Dominic replied.

"...nothing. How are you?", she asked.

"Miyah, what's wrong?", he asked. "Tell me"

"Dominic, it doesn't matter", Amiyah said. "Especially, since you were acting the way you did when you came to visit"

"Acting like what?", Dominic asked.

"Like some jealous ex boyfriend", Amiyah said.

Dominic made a face.

"Every time I find somebody to date, you get in your moods with them or me", Amiyah said. "Unless you're going to step up yourself, then just stop"

"I don't know what you're talking about", Dominic said.

"Okay, whatever", Amiyah said as she rolled her eyes. "I'm not stupid"

"I know you aren't. You're smart as hell", he replied.

"So stop acting like I am", Amiyah said. "I know you have feelings for me"

Dominic shook his head and chuckled. "I don't know who told you that, Amiyah", Dominic said.

"Okay, Dominic. Bye", she said.

"So you really gonna do this?", Dominic asked.

"I just called to ask if you spoke to Bianca anyways. Not for you lie to my face", Amiyah said. "Goodbye. I'm busy"

Dominic sucked his teeth. "Iight, Miyah. Bye", he said.

Amiyah hung up the call. The only way she was going to find out, is to investigate herself. She looked out the window and saw Lamar's car. She thought he would be at work today but he wasn't.

She decided to call him. In order for her to find things out she felt like she needed to act like nothing was wrong.

Once she called Lamar, he answered.

"Hey, beautiful", he said.

"Hey", Amiyah said. "How are you today?"

"Good. Feeling a little bit under the weather but I'm fine", he replied.

"Aww, do you need some soup?", Amiyah asked.

"I think you by my side will be better than soup. I haven't seen you in three days", he said.

Amiyah thought to herself that three days wasn't that long. She could tell he was the clingy type though.

"I know and I'm sorry. I just been so busy", she said.

"I see that you're home today. Why aren't you at work?", he asked.

"My brain needs a moment to relax", she said. "Maybe I can come over"

"Sounds great", he said.

"Okay. I'll be over", Amiyah said.

"Alright", he replied.

Amiyah hung up the phone and sighed. She grabbed her keys and left to go to his house. After Lamar opened the door for her, she walked in the house and looked around. Mostly, at the basement door.

"So, how has everything been?", Lamar asked as he sat down.

Lamar seemed so chill and laid back as if everything was okay and she literally saw nothing off about him.

"You okay?", he asked.

"I'm fine", Amiyah said as she walked to the couch and sat down. "You sure you don't want any soup"

"Positive", he replied. "I don't feel that bad, I don't know I guess I'm just not in the mood for work today"

Amiyah nods.

"I missed you though", he said as he touched her thigh and gripped it.

Amiyah looked at his hand. She knew what he wanted to do but she didn't want to.

Amiyah touched his hand. "I was thinking that maybe we could talk about something", she said.

Lamar began rubbing her thigh gently and slowly. "Like what, beautiful?", he asked.

"Like that guy's name. The one who you talked to for me?", she asked.

"Babe if he didn't do it when I asked him, I doubt he'll agree", he replied.

"What? You're saying I can't get the job done", she asked.

"Hey", Lamar said as he began making eye contact. "You are Amiyah Wilson. The most strongest woman I know. You can most definitely get the job done. I just don't want you to feel any less of yourself if you can't convince him. He's difficult"

As Amiyah looked at him, she didn't want him to be the man she suspected. She actually wanted to be with him. With the man that has been so good to her.

"I deal with difficult people everyday", Amiyah said.

"Amiyah please baby. Don't argue with me. I want your dad to get out as much as you do, but this guy doesn't give a fuck about anybody but himself", Lamar said.

Amiyah got quiet.

"I didn't upset you did I?", he asked.

Amiyah looked away. "No", she said.

"The last thing I wanna do is upset you, or hurt you in anyway", Lamar said.

Amiyah looked at him.

"It's something I wanna tell you but it's too soon. I mean, I felt this way for years so it's not too soon for me, but it is for you", he said.

Amiyah looked down. She knew what he wanted to say. He wanted to say that he loved her.

Suddenly, Amiyah's stomach growled.

"Sorry", she said as she touched her stomach.

Lamar chuckled. "It's cool", he said. "How about this. How about I go get us something to eat and you stay and chill like you planned to do today"

Amiyah nods. "That sounds good", she said. "But when you come back, we still need to talk"

Lamar shook his head. "Okay", he said as he got up. "What do you want?"

"Mexican sounds good", Amiyah said. "I'll text you what I want"

"Alright", Lamar said. "I'll be back"

"Okay", Amiyah replied.

Lamar grabbed his keys and wallet and left. Amiyah texted him what he wanted and got up to make sure he was gone by looking through the window. Amiyah didn't see his car in sight so she walked to the basement door and tried to open it but it was locked. She knocked on it then put her ear to the door but didn't hear anything.

Amiyah sighed as she looked at the door knob. She needed a key to open it but if it was anything like her's, being that she has locked her door plenty of times, she knew exactly how to get in.

Amiyah grabbed a her licenses out of her wallet and put it in between the locked and the door. She then opened the door and it was dark. She felt for the light switch and turned it on. She looked around and saw Bianca sitting in the corner of the cell. She looked miserable.

"Oh my gosh. Bianca", Amiyah said as she ran down the stairs and ran to the glass. "Are you okay?"

Bianca shook her head. She started talking but Amiyah couldn't hear her.

"What?", Amiyah asked. "I don't- I don't hear anything you're saying"

Bianca looked down.

"I'm calling the police, okay?", Amiyah said. "Everything is going to be okay"

Bianca eyes got wide as she got up. She was trying to tell Amiyah something but it was too late.

Suddenly, Amiyah felt the back of her body going against somebody's and a hand gripping around her neck.

"I'm sorry, Amiyah", Lamar said.

Amiyah tried to move his hand but couldn't, suddenly she her eyes closed and she body began to fall but Lamar stopped her from falling and picked her up.

Bianca started crying. She was weak from not eating and she was mad that she couldn't do anything about it. She was also scared.

Lamar opened up the cell and Bianca tried to get up. Lamar sat Amiyah in the cell.

"Why are you doing this?", Bianca asked as she crawled to Amiyah.

Lamar grabbed Bianca by her neck and lifted her up. "This is your fault", he said. "You just had to be all in my business"

Bianca touched his hand that was around her neck.

Lamar threw her down against the wall.

Bianca was pain.

"The only reason you're still alive is because you're her friend", Lamar said. "Say anything to her when she wakes up and I will change my mind"

Bianca looked away.

Lamar walked out of the cell and shut and locked the door. He pushed everything that was on the table, off of the table. He was beyond pissed.

Bianca watched him.

Lamar walked up the stairs, repeating something to himself. All you could hear was mumbling. He shut the door behind him once he walked out.
