"Sure," He looked around one last time, and when his eyes landed on my elephant, his eyes softened.

I waited for him to say something, but he didn't. Instead, he just motioned for me to follow him, which I did.

I got into the car, and he told me to just sleep since we had some time before we reached the airport. The last thing I heard before falling asleep was

"Yeah... I need you all to come home immediately... NO, it's not about her... just come ok?... it's a surprise".

*Emma's POV*

I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes as the car glided to a stop.

"This was it." I thought to myself.

I was finally leaving my hometown of Texas and moving to Chicago, only to live with 5 brothers that I never knew about?

Damn. Sounds like a Wattpad book.

I shook my head out of my thoughts and walked towards the plane. I looked it over and realized this wasn't a commercial plane. This was a private plane.

Well, I'm sO gLaD that they pulled out all the stops for me.

Alessandro waved his hand in front of my face to shake me out of my thoughts.

I immediately flinched back, expecting him to hit me.

He glared at me for a second, his eyes softening at the fear in my eyes.

"What happened, hermana? Are you okay?"

Not wanting to explain myself yet, I just nodded my head and went to board the plane.

*Alessandro POV*

I was angry.

At myself?

Maybe.

Maybe I was angry at the fact my hermana, my little sister flinched at me. If I was an average person, I would have dismissed this but no. I was the head of the Italian mafia, and I knew when something wasn't right.

She was hiding something from me, and I was determined to find out what.

*Time Skip to Chicago*

*Emma POV*

Wow.

I peered out the window as the pilot announced we would arrive shortly.

Chicago was beautiful from up here.

I could see a bunch of tiny little apartments and what I think was the silver bean thing.

One thing was for sure, Chicago was WAY more crowded than Texas ever was.

I continued to look out the window, with an almost childlike expression of glee on my face.

Shortly after, we touched down and entered the airport.

This place was huge!

I almost got lost a couple of times, but Alessandro helped me out.

I knew that I should trust him, but he reminded me too much of someone I knew, though I couldn't exactly pinpoint who.

Alessandro drove us home while we sat in complete silence.

When we reached, I let out a little gasp of shock. I was no home expert, but this house was beautiful. It was a giant mansion with vines and bushes growing up and along the sides.

Alessandro had a slight smile on his face while watching me, but quickly dropped it and walked me inside.

I walked inside the house, expecting it to be quiet so I could go sleep or maybe have a small welcoming party.

What I was not expecting was for something to barrel at me and wrap me in a tight hug and squish all my bruises in the process.

So, I did the only thing I knew how to.

I screamed bloody murder.

The figure immediately let go of me and held me at an arm's width, examining my face.

Was this another brother?

"Uh what ar-"

I was interrupted by a dark and angry voice.

"Her name is Emma Lopez, and she is your sister."

The mysterious man finally let go of me and shook his head in disbelief.

"Our sisters name is Eva not Emma."

Allessandro reached over me and slapped the dude on the back of the head so hard that I winced.

"Idiota what does Eva sound like? Also just look at her."

"Oh my god she has the same eyes as Enzo. And the same hair as you. Just like mom." He whispered the last part out, almost as if he was afraid that I wasn't real.

"This idiot's name is Luca. He's your second oldest brother." Alessandro replied.

Luca started walking over to help me up and grabbed my arm, right over a bruise reminding me of the last time I saw Gabriel. I flinched away from him and let out a mini yelp.

Hurt and confusion flashed over his face until he masked it with an indifferent glare.

Right then and there, I made a mini vow, these people are dangerous, and while they may be my brothers, I will NEVER let them find out about my past.

*Alessandro POV*

I was sitting in my office chair, idly tapping my fingers against the desk.

I thought back to this morning when Luca hugged Emma out of no where. She didn't even flinch, nor was she scared. That was good. She wasn't easily surprised.

With that last thought, I called the boys into the living room to break the news that after 13 long years, we have finally found our little sister.

*Emma POV*

After the whole debacle with Luca, Alessandro led me up to the room that I would stay in now.

The room was bigger than my whole apartment, so I was more than grateful for it.

The only thing was that my room was a little...bland, so I got bored very quickly.

I decided I might as well head downstairs to the kitchen to grab some water.

I slowly retraced my steps from this morning, hoping that I wouldn't get lost.

I finally descend the long flights of stairs, only to find 5 pairs of eyes staring at me. Each of their eyes were different, but they all held the same emotions: hope and love.

Time seemed to slow down as I saw a pair of eyes precisely like mine. They had the same flecks of gold in them and ring of green. The only thing that they were missing was the rings of copper around the eye.

I looked at them in confusion before my eyes landed on Alessandro.

Realization dawned on me as I realized that these were all my brothers.

And the one that had eyes identical to me? Well, he would have to be my twin that Alessandro told me about on the plane ride here, right?

I snapped out of my haze as I saw a smudge of color barrelling at me.

Expecting another do-over of this morning, I turned around to sprint away, but I was too late.

The figure barrelled into me, wrapping me in a tight hug and most likely breaking my already very severely bruised ribs.

I bit back a scream of pain and instead only winced to show my discomfort.

At this, the 5 people on the couches immediately stiffened, and the one hugging me let go.

We sat in silence for a few seconds before the one that hugged me spoke up.

"What was that?" he asked, looking at his feet.

"Huh?" I replied

"Why did you wince?" he repeated, still looking at the ground.

"It's nothing, but even if it wasn't, I wouldn't tell someone whose name I don't even know, now would I?" I questioned back, a little annoyed.

"Enzo" was all he said as he looked up into my eyes.

I was about to say some snarky remark back when I saw something in his eyes.

Guilt.

Just to make him feel better, I mumbled out, "I'm fine; I just wasn't expecting a hug. I'm not hurt or anything."

He immediately brightened at this and dropped the guilty look.

Behind us, I heard Alessandro clear his throat.

"Well, now that that is taken care of, shall I introduce you to your brothers?" Alessandro asked, well more told.

I simply nodded and went to see.

First was Luca, who I obviously remember. He just gave me a shy wave, as if he was afraid to scare me.

Next was Marco. I gave him a slight smile, but he just ignored me completely. I shrugged it off, not expecting anything more.

Then it was Antonio. He was friendlier than Marco, but not by much. He gave me a slight smile before turning back to his phone.

After I had met all of my brothers, I decided to just head back upstairs.

As I was walking down the hallway to reach my room, which was at the end, I felt an arm grasp my wrist. They grabbed it hard. Hard enough to leave a bruise.

I turned around and saw that it was Marco.

"Hey, what's up?" I ask.

He just opened his mouth like he was about to say something but instead let it go.

As I was walking away, I realized that he smelt like alcohol.

I entered my room and flopped down on my bed, careful to avoid some of my recent bruises.

I checked my bag and realized that I only have 2 weeks worth of painkillers, which would definitely not be enough. Hopefully, I could make up a good enough excuse to get some more.

I just sighed and turned off my lights to sleep.

My last thought before drifting off was

"I forgot the dang water."
