Rose's POV
The five days have passed by very quickly, and we are already 15 hours into the journey to Sparrow Light Academy. I was able to bring Artemis and Apollo, as well as my katana and sword to show to the wealthy blacksmiths. I am actually utilizing the leather bag I bought from Aisha and Malik's antique shop, using it to hold my energy replenishment serum, my anti-aging serum, my healing powder, my hair shine product, my twin daggers, my throwing stars, and a few undergarments.
In my backpack, I have a couple days worth of clothes, my items, two water bottles, a protein bar, my gala dress, and my hair pieces. When Mr.Hartsfield showed me my dress, I gasped in extreme shock. The dress is magnificently beautiful and will look gorgeous on my figure.
Headmaster Jackson has arranged for one of the female cooks to help me prepare for the ball. I refuted his want to help, but the dragon rider insisted. I accepted the helping hands on the condition that I am able to wear my combat boots. Goddess only knows how much I despise the stereotypical heels. He agreed reluctantly after I stated how my feet will be covered by my dress.
We are a few hours out from the Academy and my nerves are only increasing. Headmaster Jackson gave me an oversized hooded cloak to wear so that my identity remains a surprise. He informed us that we will all be placed in rooms grouped with those at our Academy. Each Academy is given 2 rooms for the six students to sleep in. All Headmasters and other superiors will be roomed near the teacher's quarters.
It will not be awkward if I am roomed with Lucas because he apologized for his side remark the other day. I forgave him with the promise that if he has an issue, he come to me directly instead of keeping it to himself. I have spent a lot of time with my companions because the day of the ball, I will not be able to directly watch the sunset with them.
I have watched the sunset with Belvedere every single day since my third day at the Academy, with the exception of holiday break; sometimes, my twins join us in the air. I apologized many times for not being able to spend our designated time together, but Belvedere has reassured me that he can surely go one day without our daily ritual.
I promised him I will still try and be in the moment somehow. Nobody is riding with me on Belvedere or on my twins because I fly my dragons without a saddle. All dragon riders at the Academy fly their dragons with a saddle, even Headmaster Jackson. Lucas, Clay, and Louis are riding on Ampiere, and Aiden and Joel are riding on Star with Headmaster Jackson.
Two hours pass by quickly and the European Academy is in sight. I see two other Academies approaching with their dragons in the opposite directions.
When we land, we are welcomed by a man who introduces himself as Headmaster Weiss. He raises an eyebrow at the abundance of dragons from our Academy, but lets it pass. He leads each of our Academies to their sleeping quarters. I end up roomed with Joel and Louis, taking a look at our temporary room.
The space is very Victorian like, very English in a way. The designs of the wallpaper look older than those we have at Stone Heart Academy. The room itself is accented black with a good amount of space in the dorm considering that there is three beds. They have bagged food waiting on our beds for dinner. When Louis gets out of the shower, Joel steps in. They offered it to me first, but I refused, wanting to speak with my companions.
'Thank you again for coming all this way.' I speak to the three.
'It really is no grand gesture.' Belvedere says.
'I wouldn't want to miss it.' Artemis replies.
'Agreed.' Apollo states.
'You three flew 17 hours with only a few breaks in between just for me. I couldn't thank you guys enough for always being there for me.' I say. They respond with gratitude of my thanks.
'How are you doing Star, Ampiere?' I open the mind-link to them.
'It was a bit tiring, but nothing too unreasonable.' Ampiere responds first.
'I am alright. I have traveled in far worse conditions for longer periods of time.' Star replies.
'How old are you anyway?' I ask her.
'I am 37 in human years, 148 in dragon years. Our life spans are 4 times greater than the rate of humans, thus why we can live for thousands of years longer.' She tells me.
'Wow. Belvedere?' I ask next.
'I am 56 in human years, 224 in dragon years.' He says. I send feelings of love through our bond.
Even if he spent a number of years with his parents, majority of Belvedere's life was spent alone with no companion. I am glad we have found each other. It is my turn to bathe so I get my sleep wear and go inside the bathroom. I take a quick shower, wanting to get a good's night sleep.
When I get out, it seems as though Louis and Joel had the same train of thought. I turn off the lamp in our room, bidding the boys goodnight.
'Goodnight my dragons.' I sleepily tell my companions. I am too tired to register their responses and fall into a nice sleep. The next day occurs in a blink of an eye, and before I know it, the day of the ball has arrived.
My roommates and I are awoken by a knocking sound on the door. Joel answers the door because he is closest to it. A nice older woman tells us to gather our attire because we will be getting ready in the commons. I get everything I need and wait for the others. Once all six of us are ready, the woman leads us to the commons room where there is a big set up. We find Stone Heart Academy's area and eat some of the fruits provided to us for breakfast. The woman stays and introduces herself as Genesis.
"Shower thoroughly and wash your hair, then put on this robe over your undergarments. There is a bathroom down the hall of the commons room where many people are preparing." Genesis orders me kindly. I am still wearing my hooded cloak so that nobody can find out my gender.
I take a long and steamy shower. I put my honey scented hair products in and bathe in my lavender scented body wash. I brush thorough my hair then stop the water when I feel clean. I dry off and put on some lavender lotion. I then apply a light layer of my anti-aging cream to my face before I step out in my matching lace undergarments and robe. I collect all of my things and head back to the commons room. I hear gasps as I pass by the other school sections, making my way to Genesis. She claps her hands excitedly and motions me to a chair.
I saw that every Academy has one helper to assist everyone in their appearance. Stone Heart has two, one of them being Genesis. The older woman says nothing as she applies many different face masks and creams to my body.
My preparation continues on for hours. By the time I am ready to put on my dress, she has styled my hair in its natural curls with a few braided strands and a diamond hairpiece. Genesis also did my nails in a classic french tip, but instead of white, the nail polish was an ombre of glittering gold.
I put on the expensive rings that Headmaster had crafted for me to represent the elements I am able to wield on my hands. I put my topaz ring on my left index finger, my ruby ring on my right ring finger, my grey ring on my left middle finger, and my emerald ring on my right thumb. She plucked my eyebrows and did my eye makeup to correlate with my dress. I put on Mr.Hartsfield's masterpiece behind a curtain. I check to make sure that my aura crystal choker is on, put on my combats boots, then check and make sure that I have my non-year 4 wristband and take a deep breath before stepping out.
"Oh my dear!" Genesis gasps.
"Holy goddess!" Joel gasps as well. I notice that the five boys in our section are profusely blushing, turning away their heads for brief moments.
"Do I look bad?" I ask, worried about their reactions.
"No no no! You look marvelous!" The other female assistant reassures me.
"You look very nice." Aiden clears his throat.
"Like a goddess." I hear Clay whisper. Genesis brings me over a mirror, now it is my turn to gasp. I hardly recognize myself. I thank Genesis a thousand times over, she chuckles and tells me that it was no big hassle.

After my initial shock wears off, I put some of my throwing stars in my combat boots and my twin daggers on my thighs. I hook my katana and sword on my back in a diagonal way so that it doesn't interfere with my hair. If my pristine white hair were not so long, my companion's mark would be visible. I put on a layer of lip gloss and sit in a waiting chair. Soon enough, it is time for everyone to head to the dining hall.
"Remember, be weary of Elder Finley and the Ambassadors. They all prefer to watch the event rather than partake in it." Aiden reminds us.
"Yes, don't forget about your weapons and the blacksmiths either. Do your best to be like-able and memorable." Lucas inputs. The six of us dwell in our thoughts, following behind Genesis.
"You all look very dazzling." I try to lighten up the nervous atmosphere. Louis and Clay release a hearty laugh, meanwhile the rest lightly chuckle.
"Thank you, I could say the same for you as well." Lucas smiles. We lapse into silence as we enter the dining hall. It is a bit noisy, but it all dies down when everyone's gaze lands on me. I unfocus my gaze as my anxiety begins rising.
My friends and I depart in search of our seats. The atmosphere is tense and silent as I look for my name card. Alas, I find my seat next to a dark-toned boy and a paler blond boy. Across from me sits a tanned male, a darker-toned male, and a male a few shades darker than my complexion. I smile at the boys, they all turn their heads and blush. Back to square one.
^ The Dining Hall
"My name is Rose." I introduce myself.
"Pierre." The dark-toned boy next to me says with a heavy french accent. He is wearing an aquatic blue suit, a water wielder.
"My name is Nelly." The tanned boy across from me says. He is wearing a foresty green suit, a nature wielder.
"Jafari." The darker-toned boy across from me says with a distinctive African tone. He is wearing a basic black tuxedo, a dragon rider.
"Nice to meet you, the name is Marvin." The blond boy next to me says. He too is wearing a black suit and tie, another dragon rider.
"Anthony." The last boy mutters. He is wearing a grey suit, an air wielder. I take notice that they are all year 4's except Anthony. I nod at all of their names and we sit in an uncomfortable silence. Jafari gasps and we all turn to him.
"Why are you wearing four rings?" He asks me in shock. The other boys notice my hands, then turn to me questioningly.
"Multi-Wielder of all of the elements and Dragon Rider." I smile softly. Their jaws drop.
"Wow." Pierre whispers.
"Please excuse my bluntness, but do you have any imperfections?" Marvin asks with a light blush.
"Yes, you look ethereal, and to be able to wield all of the elements, you must be very powerful." Nelly says.
"Not to mention those muscles." Anthony adds in quietly, looking at my arms. I shake my head in amusement.
"Everybody has their faults and I work very hard in my classes. I don't know how it works at your respective Academies, but I am a Level 1 in all aspects. This means that I am in the harder training sessions, not to mention that I am a year 1. But thank you all nonetheless." I state.
"You are a year 1?" Pierre gapes. I nod. The french boy continues. "You look very young and beautiful, but hardly anyone comes here as a year 1." He tells me. I shrug, unable to find the right words to say.
Cooks begin bringing out food that smells heavenly. I thank the woman when she places my plate in front of me. Everyone soon begins digging in, but before I eat, I whisper my prayer under my breath. I open my eyes and begin eating my food.
"What was that?" Anthony questions.
"It is in my village's tradition to pray to the gods and goddesses before every meal." I say. The food enters my mouth and my taste bugs dance. Everything from the vegetables to the chicken to the bread tastes delightful. When I am beginning to get full, I stop eating with about 1/6 of the food left on my plate. I sip on my water before I ask the dragon riders a question.
"What are you dragons' names?" I ask Jafari and Marvin.
"My companion's name is Eleanor, she is a wind dragon." Marvin answers me first.
"My dragon's name is Zane, he is a water breed. How about you?" Jafari replies.
"I actually have three dragon companions." I say casually. The boys around me stop eating.
"How?" Pierre questions.
"During my dragon placement test, I tamed my now fated companion. His name is Belvedere and he is a northern healing dragon. Because our companionship is fated, I got my companion's mark when we accepted each other." I start, moving my hair to the side and turning around so that they can see my permanent marking.
I tense when I feel somebody's fingers trace the designs, but relax when they retract their hand. I turn around again, seeing Jafari sit back in his seat. I explain how companion marks work before continuing on.
"My other two dragons are twin boys of unidentifiable breeds. They were dormant from the beginning of Stone Heart Academy, and just so happened to be my dragons. I learned of their powers recently. Apollo is my bright gold dragon who has the ability to harness the sun's raw energy and breathe fire. Artemis is the older of my two younger companions. He is a midnight black dragon who has the ability to harness the moon's raw energy and breathe fire as well." I conclude.
"Damn." Nelly whispers.
"That's incredible!" Jafari exclaims.
"It is." Marvin backs up his statement.
"If you don't mind me asking, can I see your weapons? I saw a glimpse of them when you turned around." Pierre requests. I nod, unhooking my two prized crafts. I show them my sword first, then do the same for my katana. They are left awe struck by the time I return my weapons to my back.
"H-how ... but those ..." Anthony tried to say.
"Your weapons are extremely valuable." Pierre nudges me.
"I will never sell them. The only way they will not be in my possession is if somebody kills me for them or if I pass them down to my future kin." I say, stopping any of their thoughts from traveling.
"This imperium you speak of, it is a fine substance." Jafari tells me. I nod, agreeing with him.
"All right students," A loud, bellowing voices stops any sound from continuing. "Follow me into the ballroom, you may disperse from there." The man orders. We follow him into a grand and lavish room.
There seems to be a little less than two hundred adults in the area. I know that the Headmasters of every Magii Academy are here, so that leaves about 130-140 donators.
^ The Ballroom
I notice that the sun is beginning to set, and it puts a slight damper on my mood. Instead of immediately trying to enter a conversation, I look for a window where I am able to get a view of my companions. I find a large window with seats around it. I am able to see my three dragons and a very good view of the sunset.
'Belvedere, oh Belvedere.' I smile.
'Little one, oh little one.' He laughs mentally. I open our conversation to the twins and send a mental image of my perspective. My three companions turn around and send happy thoughts through our bond.
'Go ahead and fly, I will be here watching you all the whole time.' I say. Belvedere sends appreciative thoughts for my efforts and takes flight. Apollo and Artemis follow in their big brother's lead.
I watch my dragons fly around freely in the air with the beautiful sunset as a backdrop. A few minutes pass and I am aware that I have a content smile displaying on my face. I feel vibrations approaching me, sensing a powerful presence.
"Do you mind if I join you?" An older voice asks. I turn around and widen my eyes when I see Ambassador Kareem Abdul talking to me.
"Not at all." I reply. He takes a seat in one of the armchairs. A few moments of silence pass before I alert my dragons that I have to go. I sit down across from the extremely powerful dragon rider.
"Watching the sunset?" He asks me.
"With my dragons." I nod. He raises and eyebrow.
"Multiple?" He questions.
"Three to be exact." I chuckle. He slightly smiles.
"Breeds?" He asks me. I make a mental note that he is not a man of many words.
"My fated companion is a northern healing dragon, and my twin dragons are of unidentifiable breeds." I answer him. He hums in response.
"Names?" The Ambassador asks.
"Belvedere is my fated companion, Artemis is the older twin and Apollo is the younger twin." I say. He nods in response to my words. "If you don't mind me asking, what is your companion's name?" I ask. Ambassador Abdul smiles as he begins to speak.
"My dragon's name is Blaze, he is a purebred fire dragon of Sun Warrior lineage." He replies. I respond to his words with a slight nod.
Sun Warriors are like the dragon version of the Air Nomad Clan. They are extremely powerful and can manifest an immense amount of energy. My superior clears his throat as he straightens his back.
"I must say, you have caught my attention. You are only the 11th female officially in the Magii Community and are of gold status nevertheless. And based off of your rings, you can wield all of the elements. Not only are you one of a kind, you must be extremely powerful. So when I saw you standing by the window instead of trying to gain popularity, I was very intrigued." He states. I consider his words for a moment.
"It is important to understand your priorities. One of mine is making sure that my companions feel loved and appreciated. Belvedere and I have made it a tradition to watch the sunset together everyday. My twins join us occasionally when we fly, but no matter the situation, I still make time for it. This is why the fundraising can wait, I was savoring the few minutes where my companions and I have quality time to ourselves. Even if I was not there physically, my dragons and I still had our time together." I answer.
"You seem very intelligent for such a young age." Ambassador Abdul observes.
"I get that frequently." I say, motioning to my aura crystal. The political member raises an eyebrow. "It is the sapienti est aura crystal. It was gifted to me for being appreciative of the wisdom my superior provided." I say, not needing to translate. He smiles and stands up. I mimicked his actions.
"It was a pleasure to meet you. Forgive me, but I forgot to ask your name." He says. I smile at the Ambassador.
"My name is Rose Wellington." I say, having permission from Headmaster Jackson to reveal my blacksmiths identity.
"Wellington?" He questions briefly shocked.
"Wellington." I reassure, smiling knowingly. "It was a pleasure to meet your acquaintance Ambassador Abdul, I hope your bow and quiver were satisfactory." I bid him goodbye.
I make my way towards a group of 7 students talking to two large men. I can easily depict the muscles underneath the men's' suits, they must be blacksmiths.
"Gentlemen." I smile at the group. The two adults turn their full attention to me as some of the boys look at me in slight annoyance.
"Hello child." One of them says with a scowl. I nod to him, ignoring his rude introduction. "My name is Leck Johnson." He states.
"Rose Wellington." I say. I smile at their widened eyes. The other adult grabs a set of six throwing stars from his pocket.
"My name is Evan Thomas." The one holding the throwing stars says. I smile at the weapons.
"That was an extremely precise order you placed. I had fun drawing up ideas for the individual designs that form into one." I smile.
"You are Wellington? The prodigy first year at Stone Heart Academy Wellington?" Mr.Johnson asks skeptically. I nod.
"I remember your name, you placed an order for a four set of throwing knives. It was a challenge to design specific engravings to each of your children's likes, nonetheless, I hope you liked the end result." I recall.
"Your craftsmanship is superb. Not even an experienced blacksmith such as I would be able to have the intricate details you include." Mr.Johnson compliments me. I blush and thank him.
"Agreed. My son loved his gift and thanked my wife and I repeatedly for getting the set for him. He is a village warrior in training, and the only thing he wanted for his birthday was to get a weapon from Wellington, the crafter that his friends kept mentioning." Mr.Thomas says. I smile at the two and thank him as well, a blush still covering my cheeks.
"Is there anything more I could've done to the weapons based on your preferences?" I ask, wanting to hear their feedback.
"The only comments I have are ones of praise." Mr.Johnson slightly smiles, a different expression than the dominant scowl. I smile to myself for getting him to smile, even if it was a small one.
"My only regret is not placing an order while you were not as occupied. Nonetheless, I am happy to see how accomplished you have become and you getting your rightful recognition." Mr.Thomas chuckles. "Let's introduce you to the other blacksmiths." He says. I nod, noticing how the boys they were previously talking to have all walked away.
I match the pair's strides, in the middle of the two men. They lead me to a group of three well dressed men and a crowd of 13 students. I wave to Joel and smile at Jafari when I see them in conversation with two of the men.
"Excuse us, but we personally wanted to introduce you to Rose." Mr.Johnson nods his head in respect to the three men. I notice that one of the three holds this aura of authority and wealth about him. The men and crowd of students look my way. I see Joel give me a discreet thumbs up.
"My name is Rose Wellington, it is a pleasure to meet you all." I introduce. One of the men smirks and looks towards the more important of the three. The superior raises an eyebrow at me.
"My name is Chip Johnson. No, Leck and I are not related." The man who smirked says. I nod to his words.
"Samuel Woods." The second man tells me. I smile and look to the third man. He says nothing, but I am not discouraged. I just smile and look at the crowd.
"So what are we discussing?" I ask.
"We are talking about our favorite weapons that we have crafted." One of the boys in the crowd says. I give him a thankful smile.
"Yes. I was just talking about how I prefer dual swords, but favor crafting regular swords." One fire wielder brings the attention back to him. He seems fairly confident, and is doing a good job of conversing with the men. Before he can speak up, I voice my opinion.
"I hardly think any sword is regular given the meaning and backstory of the craft." I politely input. The kid forces a smile and nods to my words. He begins talking about his Academy's blacksmith shop when he is interrupted by the adult who has yet to give me his name.
"What is your preferred craft?" He directs the question to me.
"Although I loved making my sword, I would have to say that the process of crafting my katana surpasses." I easily answer.
"You crafted a katana?" An air wielder from the crowd asks. I nod, taking my katana from my back.
"When it was time for my combat and weaponry teacher to recommend us for jobs at our Academy's blacksmith shop, I wanted to craft a weapon I had yet to make. I was never able to access the materials in my village to make a katana, even though I was taught how to wield the weapon. I made the katana mold because Stone Heart's shop didn't have one at the time, then got to work." I unsheathe my katana from its covering.
"I got a hold of this base material a day before my choosing ceremony. I sensed that it was a very powerful material and I was naturally drawn to it. Since it was unknown, I named it imperium. The word itself means power in Latin translation. This is my second weapon made out of imperium because I made my sword out of it first. Anyway, it's a special material because you have to transfer your energy into it in order to melt it."
"I then used an ink engraver to outline my designs in gold. I felt that this particular quote represents me well, the dragon represents a part of who I am, the tiger represents the fierceness of the katana itself and its master, and I designed cherry blossoms on the Saya because Samurai culture is based on Japanese principles. Also, on the Habaki, is a word in Sanskrit. I have been teaching myself the Hindu based language previously used to communicate with Celestial Gods. The word I engraved means oneself, or soul. I did this because in order to properly wield a katana, you must wield it as an extension of yourself. So in conclusion, crafting my katana was my favorite experience because it is what landed me one of my jobs." I say with a bright smile. I look and observe the crowd's faces. Joel looks proud, Jafari once again looks shocked, and everyone else is silent.
"Remarkable." The superior man says. Praises begin coming my way and I deeply blush at the responses. Joel laughs, bringing the attention to him.
"I apologize for finding this humorous, but if you cannot tell, Rose is extremely humble. She is so humble that she does not receive compliments well, thus why she is blushing. And if I may add, it only took about 2 hours for her to completely make the weapon. I remember when her brother and I placed bets on whether or not she would be payed on the higher end for a year 1. Safe to say that I won the bet." Joel winks at me. I playfully glare at him, putting my katana back in its place.
"It only took you two hours?" Mr.Johnson asks curiously from beside me. I nod.
"May I see your sword?" Mr.Woods asks. I nod, taking my sword. I unsheathe it and hear many gasps and Woahs.
"This beauty took me four hours to complete. As I said before, the blacksmiths in my village did not know what it was. They were about to throw it out because they were not able to melt it when I asked to see it. I recalled talking about energy transfers with my village leader, Mr.Nicholas of Trinity Stone Village. You can only melt the substance when you put it under a heat source after transferring your energy into it while in a peaceful state, making imperium extremely valuable. It took me the longest to get every detail of my designs right." I say, then going into the meaning of the designs. I sheathe my sword and put it on my back after my explanation. Everyone looks at me with respect, even the attention-seeking kid.
"Those may be the two finest weapons I have ever come across. For you to only be a year 1 capable of crafting such extraordinary weapons, you are indeed a prodigy. Expect more orders coming in after I promote your craft to my market. There is a bright future for you." The third man says with high regard. I deeply blush at his statement.
"Thank you sir." I say gratefully. He begins walking away with the two other men before stopping.
"It was a pleasure to meet you Rose, and please, call me Mr.Chadwick." He leaves with me gasping in surprise. Everyone looks at me curiously.
"That was Albert Chadwick." I whisper. The 13 boys widen their eyes in great surprise and shock. Albert Chadwick is the heir to Chadwick Industries. He is one of the richest men alive and very well could be known as the best blacksmith alive. I break of my trance and wave goodbye to Joel and Jafari, wandering to a new group. I internally sigh at the immense amount of talking that awaits me tonight.
Headmaster Jackson finds me first and ushers me to a group of people before I even have a chance to ask him how he is doing. I raise an eyebrow at his actions, but my superior gives me a subtle nod, telling me to trust him.
"Gentlemen," Headmaster Jackson smiles widely. "Have I introduced you all to Rose yet?" He questions knowingly. The six well dressed men look at me.
"Rose Wellington, pleased to meet your all's acquaintances." I nod respectfully to each of them. I find out that two of them are Headmasters, one of them is a successful dragon rider, one is an accomplished jewelry crafter, one is Ambassador Collins and the other is Ambassador Declan. We talked about my crafting abilities, my status, my training, and basically everything relating to me. Headmaster Jackson was obviously bragging to the other two Headmasters, and the two superiors of mine didn't even mind.
"Based off of your Headmaster's comments, it seems we have met the Academy favorite." Ambassador Declan says chuckling.
"You wouldn't be too far off. I am continuously getting updates from her instructors about her progress and their praise." Headmaster Jackson smiles proudly at me.
"We have some very talented and proficient instructors at Stone Heart." I smile brightly, increasing the propaganda for my school. Headmaster smiles at me once more, aware of my intentions.
"I must say, having three companions is no easy feat. How do you manage?" Mr.Dean, the dragon rider, asks.
"I spend designated nights in each of their stables. Monday is for Apollo, Tuesday is for Artemis, and Friday is for Belvedere. I watch the sunset with my fated dragon everyday, as well as read to my twin dragons every night I spend in the stables. I spend lots of my time strengthening our bonds and appreciating each of my companions with my entire being. I sing to my dragons when we are alone, or to the other creatures in general. My dragons understand that I am busy, but I do not let my priorities shift. After all, I couldn't have come this far without them." I say my last statement with double meaning.
Headmaster Jackson'a eyes soften after hearing my last words. I honestly wouldn't have been able to overcome the sexual assault incident without the help of my companions.
"You are truly noble Rose, it is an honor to own one of your crafts." Ambassador Collins tells me.
"Thank you Ambassador, it is an honor to meet your expectations." I smile.
"Rose, do you mind stepping away? I must chat some more private matters." Headmaster orders politely.
"Of course not," I smile to him knowingly. "It is honestly a pleasure to have met every one of you. Have a great rest of your night gentlemen." I excuse myself. I look over to Headmaster Jackson one more time. He smiles at me and nods, telling me that I did a good job.
I walk away to join a few more conversations. An hour and a half passes, and I have met at least half of the wealthy donators. I see waiters beginning to bring out desserts and refreshments to a table on the side. I notice a younger female having a bit of trouble balancing the platters. I walk over to her and ask if she needs help, she nods hesitantly. I place the tray of madeleines on my head, holding red velvet cookies in my left hand and white chocolate chip cookies in my right. I effortlessly make it to the table in no time. The waiter takes the platters from me.
"Thank you." She sighs out in relief.
"Don't mention it. Without your efforts, I doubt that tonight could have ran as smoothly, so thank you for making this possible." I tell her honestly. She nods and retreats back into the kitchen.
I wait another thirty minutes after conversating to make myself a plate of desserts, putting two madeleines and one chocolate chip cookie on it. I love madeleines because Adele was the one who taught me how to make them, it is a fond memory I share of us. I look around the room for an open seat. The only one available is on a couch that is being occupied by none other than Elder Finley. I take a deep breath before walking my way over, Goddess so help me not get humiliated tonight.
