A new fire burned in me making the acceleration strive through my veins more powerfully. It was weirder than weird. Every time I thought about him my heart just got lighter. My mind was all over the place in all sorts. But at some point, it all came together recognising that what Boss said was a hint. He gave me this mission to give me the free opportunity to kill him. It wasn't just a mission but it was my responsibility, my duty. I can't let my family down or myself I need to get this over with.
Why does my heart hurt?
"Ready?" I nodded and I and Jace headed out taking our positions in the shadows. Both of us with black masks and black outfits making as invisible to the world. Right now, there was no one in sight but a few guard patrolling around the big brick building.
"Wow, the Boss wasn't wrong when they said your family will be involved." I snatched Jace's binoculars looking directly to where one of Austria's leaders were standing. Sure, enough my papa and uncle Enzo were shaking hands and looked like they were exchanging some sort of deal. "Did they say anything about a deal to you?" I looked at Jace like he was stupid then looked back at my family. "What do you think Jace. Of course, they wouldn't tell me or consult me in anything to with the family. I am a girl and if anything, I am the youngest. Not to mention I have had a few little breathing issues in the forbid. Which to them makes me to them a little broken princess" He nodded giving me a sad look.
Another minute passed and sure enough, my brothers and my eldest cousin Vince welcomed themselves to the 'meeting'. My eyes never left their exchange and I watched them closely trying to avoid any deep hidden emotion inside of me. "Hey look!" Jace snapped me out of my thoughts and we bent down lower in our positions. I used the binoculars to look at the buildings around me and by now I could spot assassins looking directly at the same spot we were. My grip around my gun tightened as I looked at my family with worry.
No matter what I need to protect them.
"Looks like we have some good ole competition on our hands." I smiled goofily bumping Jace's head. "Well then come on booger we have a 'competition' to win." He scowled but followed me as I walked to the small vent door. He helped me open the door quietly but then opened up his laptop bringing up all the cameras and alarms. "Keep me informed! And also keep the lookout for any boneless dickheads called Blaze." He saluted making me click my tongue. "You mean to keep the lookout for your secret Romeo." He teased.
This buffoon was never going to give that up!
Green-headed annoying pigheaded dumb booger.
I crinkled my nose in disgust. These vents were as disgusting as Diego's bedroom and that's pretty bloody disgusting. I managed to successfully pass the vents with ease. I was now completely thankful that we decided to take this path. It helped us keep hidden and by the sounds of the now and again gunshots. I can that other assassins have not had the same luck.
"How is it going booger? What is the next turn, left or right?" I asked into my earpiece as crawled to a T-intersection in the vents. But there was no answer normally I would go back but there was too much at stake. I dwelled my worry and decided to take a quick leap of faith and choose left. I tried once again into the earpiece but there was still no answer. I then looked at my watch and I finally realised that I had no connection.
Fan-fucking -tastic.
'I cursed under my breath and continued the journey hoping to god that this was going to go ok. I made a right turn and as soon as I did was met with the devil.
"Move." He seethed clutching the handgun in his hand. "No what about ladies first." He gritted his teeth and I quickly brought out my knife. He ignored me and quickly said something in his walkie talkie before bumping my shoulder ruffly and turned the next right. I followed his actions, and he was quick to try and kick him. But the size of the vents made his efforts pointless. He was too big for the vents which gave me an advantage,
I pulled his leg roughly making him lose his balance with a groan. I climbed on top of him not carrying where my knees landed. I smirked down at him giving him a sinister look as he gritted his teeth. I then climbed forward and the more crawled away from him the more I saw I was closer to being to my target. He tried pulling me back but every time he did I did my best to kick him. Making sure to always aim for his face.
God knows it needs improvement.
I smiled giggling to myself as I heard a satisfactory sounding crunch. "Ow fucking bitch." If I was somewhere else, I probably would've waved him off and thanked him gratefully. But there were more important things what needed to be done.
I needed to get to where the bombs were so that I could take and kill two birds with one stone. It is too risky to try and kill him in these vents it will also probably cause unwanted attention by the guards. I opened the vent door what was facing down into the room below us. Immediately my eyes saw the untouched bombs.
I looked back behind me smirking at Blaze as he was stalking dangerously to me. I quickly saluted him and jumped down quickly going into defence position. But no one was here. My thoughts were cut off as my whole body was flung across the whole room hitting the brick wall. I couldn't help the whimper what left me, but I was quick to get up and throw one of my own hits. He dodged my punch and punched my jaw with his mighty strength throwing me to the ground.
He was about to get on top of me with his knife and to probably deliverer another punch. But I kicked him with my strength hopefully breaking his nose. He wiped his bleeding nose not giving me much time. But I had just enough time to collect my knife to defend myself. He threw my knife away forcefully out of my hands and charged me into the wall. My head hit the hard wall directly making a cracking noise. My eyes were clouded with white dots but I had to try my hardest to remain strong.
My strength became as strong as noodles and my eyes drooped weakly. He took this into his advantage smiling like a rancorous sadist. He ran his blade down my jaw slowly to my neck. "Goodnight Sparrow, my princess." He whispered in my ear quietly.
I hung my head in defeat, there was no getting out of this. He was going to kill me, I was going to lose. I can only pray that Jace will be ok and that he will look over my family. I can only hope that maybe even on the rode that he finds his own family. I Pray that my family will be ok, and I pray that Boss and troy will leave them in peace.
Maybe me dying will end all of this...
I closed my eyes awaiting death in welcome arms. But nothing came, not even after another minute. I was still being hung over the wall, but nothing was happening. Did he want me to watch him take my life? Was he that cruel? I knew he was sadist but still, surely he he had some humanity left. I opened my eyes and when I did, I was met with softened yet confused eyes. He looked at me conflicted with his jaw clenched looking like he was fighting a heavy mental battle.
He dropped me to the ground all of though my composure was weak and uneasy I still was able to somehow keep steady. I looked at him confused. He had me where he needed me? He could kill me right now. Though I do admit I do not know the reason behind his reason and desire for killing me. "Why can't I kill you?" He asked weakly. My eyes widened and I opened my mouth to say something but quickly closed it.
I was just confused as he.
He looked at me again but this was like no time he had ever stared at me before. He looked at me with his lips twitched up, smiling at me. We were both smiling though both confused. It was the time where both of us realised that we both felt the same effect. We both were connected and were aware of how much we have corrupted each other. Though it wasn't bad, looking into his eyes brought me a sigh of relief.
It wasn't just in my head. These feelings were real, and he felt the same way I did. Even though I didn't know what they were, they were real.
Our thoughts were cut when a man yelled something and suddenly a grenade was thrown from the window into the room. I scrambled quickly pulling my gun over my shoulder and quickly running to the bombs. The grenade was thrown right next to the poisonous bombs If they were to go off, they would kill everyone in this building and miles away. Blaze caught me off guard he quickly threw the box of the bombs out of another window carelessly then threw his body on top of me.
My ears buzzed white nose as the bomb went off. Blaze scanned my body quickly for injuries then picked me up running out of the room. My mind was too fuzzy to comprehend this whole bizarre situation. I couldn't tell if this was, him rescuing me or if this was him kidnapping me. Either way it was baffling to whatever our relationship was. I clutched his shirt as he jumped out of the building. Amazingly he somehow managed to land the drop with me still in his arms.
Another man came up to us at first, I couldn't tell if it was a guard or another assassin, but it looked like it was his friend. The man held the box of bombs in his arms then looked down at me confused.
Trust me buddy, you're just as dumbfounded as the rest of us.
Soon his frown turned into goofy smirk much like a puppy. He said something to Blaze but my ears were still ringing. I rubbed my eyes trying to regain my conscious but by the minute it was getting harder and harder. The smoke what surrounded us seemed to make me even worse and when I started coughing their attention was snapped to me. It was now not only getting harder to stay awake but now to breathe. My lungs and heart burnt painfully, making me wince at any sudden movement. He looked down at me with concern tightening his arms around me as I started to close my eyes. He opened his mouth saying stuff to me, but It all came out as blank noise. I couldn't hear anything or see much, and it was getting harder and more excruciating by the minute and eventually, I gave up.
