BLINDSIDED
They say that to make every day worthwhile, you need to spend it with the one you love. And that is what I have been doing for the past month and I had never been happier. Blaze and I had never been closer. Spending every minute possible together. We did every together and I find myself living more at Blaze's apartment more than at home. But my family of course are oblivious to that. They are too focused on catching Blaze and Sparrow and currently, they have come to the conclusion that they have gone underground.
Five months
For the first time in years, I have been able to laugh, to smile and to be myself. My family are welcoming thinking that I am just accepting the family more. But with Blaze and everyone in my life happy, I finally feel complete. Blaze and I have even thought about plans on how we are going to save ourselves from the wrath of Boss and Tony. Blaze knows everything now. He knows what Boss has put me and Jace through and I have never seen him angrier than what he was.
But together we will sort this out, together and always.
Jace has also been the happiest I have ever seen him. Olivia has filled mended his broken heart and now he can be the true carefree outgoing dork he is. Everything is falling into place and to add more to the news Rose and John are getting married next week. It went super-fast, but that did not surprise me. Those two are quite literally made for each other
"What are you doing!" Simon yelled at Jace who was eating all of the doughnuts. "Eating." I rolled my eyes and walked away from the bickering.
Those two can be more annoying than cockroaches.
"Hey, Ange!" Cole waved and Madeline smiled kindly. "Hey, guys." I say politely sitting next to them.
"Where is Blaze?" I asked as nicely as I could. I did not want to seem rude and make it like I didn't want to talk to them. I just wanted to see Blaze, I hadn't seen him all day.
"He went out doing something," Madeline says.
"Did he say where and what he was doing?" I asked folding my hands.
"Nah you know what he is like. He doesn't tell you anything." Maybe with you guys... But with me, he is meant to tell me everything.
"Ok." That was the only thing I could manage to say. I wonder what he was doing or if he was ok. All I know is that when he comes home, he has a lot of explaining to do.
"You need to teach me." I looked up at Madeline confused. "You need to teach me how to lie and all that jazz. These boys show me nothing and I can never get one of them off my back..." She huffed rolling her eyes exaggerating.
"That's because we have tried teaching you before. You are just a terrible student." Madeline eyes and mouth dropped.
"You take that back you-you." Cole laughed at her and flicked her nose smirking. I couldn't help myself but giggle.
"It's ok sis, you can always dream." She flipped him off and glared at him before looking back at me with pleading eyes. I smiled at her and put my hand over hers. I remember when I was in her place. Desperately wanting to get out of the shadows and become my own person.
"It's ok... I can help-."
"NO!" Jace screamed pointing towards us both. "If anyone should teach her anything, it would be me." He folded his arms looking defensive.
"What could you teach? You're just a young child." Simon growled at Jace. But Jace poked his tongue at him and winked. "Everything my friend, I can teach Madeline everything. I am the one who taught Angelina." I scoffed loudly.
"Yeah right, you wish! The only thing you taught me was how to steal." The boys and Madeline snickered while Jace clicked his tongue. "Don't listen to her my new padawan! I will teach you my ways." Madeline squealed and giggled as Jace hoisted her up and twirled her around.
Suddenly the door slammed open and at first, I expected it to be Blaze but it was the person I was least expecting.
"Chloe?" Cole asked widening his eyes as Chloe stormed into the room we were in with an enraged look.
"What are you doing here?" Simon asked her but she stormed past him stalking towards me. Madeline stepped in front of me while Jace glared at her. "Blaze isn't here, and he won't be happy finding out that you're here either," Madeline growled still standing in front of me protectively. It was sweet of Madeline to try and protect me but I can protect myself.
"Good." She spoke. "Because I am not here for Blaze, I am here for her." She said confidently. Simon was about to interject and so was Cole, but I stepped forward. Throughout the month and me getting closer to this group, I have gotten protective of them and so have they.
"This better be important." I seethed through gritted teeth before her and I drifted away into Blaze's office.
I watched her closely as she sat in Blaze's chair welcoming her feet onto the wooded desk. "You know this surprises me." She starts running her hand over the desk.
"What does?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Blaze welcoming you into his life with open arms. He let you practically move in and meet his friends. he accepted you... he never did that for me." I sat down in the chair but never said anything.
"So, what makes you so special?" She asked me curiously. I didn't answer and just sat blankly not giving her any emotion.
"Not a talker huh? Maybe that is what Blaze sees in you." She chuckled to herself before grabbing a file out of her purse. "But then again I will be honest. There is probably more to it. Your pretty, tanned somewhat tall and you're into the world what blaze is. People would say that you guys are perfect for each other. But not me." I narrowed my eyes at her.
"Why not?" I asked letting my curiosity get the best of me. Her lips curled upwards and she looked at me with a sinister smirk.
"Because I know things 'princess'." She giggled at my expression then got and walked around the desk before sitting on it. so she was now directly in front of me.
"what 'things'?" I asked giving my own smirk. If this is her way of trying to send me away from Blaze.
It won't work.
"Lots of things dear, but where should I begin?" she asked herself to tap her chin. I gritted my teeth and clenched my jaw. I didn't want to let her annoying antics get the best of me but they were working.
"Oh right!" she giggled. "guess I should start with you."
"The youngest daughter in the Garcia family. Treasured by both Italian and Spanish mafias but something that no one knows is that the little princess is a dirty rat." She spat the last bit.
"her family think they can trust her but what they don't know is that she is an evil monster working for the big bad Blacklist. 'to keep them alive." My hands turned to fists and right now all I could think about was punching you.
"You are just a messed up, broken and torn girl with too many scars and to many problems to fix. But yet you think that pushing them all to Blaze will somehow mend it. Because you 'love' him." I gritted my teeth together.
"This is my problems, not Blazes. I do not push my problems onto him."
Or did I?
She giggled at me and then her eyes lit up. "Yes! Let's talk about 'him'."
"The boy who everyone knows as the big bad boy 'Blaze'. But what you don't know is that his whole life is a lie. I am sure that he is filled that little head of yours with all sorts of lies." She then snickered to herself. "I bet you don't even know his real name."
My face paled and my heartbeat got faster, I knew somehow whatever information she was going to tell me was going to change everything.
"Oh sweetheart, he really has blindsided you, hasn't he? She asked pretending to be sympathetic. She then busted out laughing wiping tears away from the corner of her eyes. "This is just too good." She chortled uncontrollably.
I cleared my throat glaring at her. Can she just get on with it and tell me what she needs to so she can go. "Imagine loving someone and not knowing a single thing about him." I slammed my fists down onto the desk cutting her off.
"Will you get on with it," I demanded.
"Hun I am not scared of you but for sake and sake only. I will tell you. Consider this as a friendly source of information." She says smoothly smirking at me. "ever heard of the name Domonic Carson?" I scrunched my face up in confusion. Why did this name matter so much? Who is Domonic? But then it dawned to me...Carson.
"Domonic Carson." She hummed. "The son of the man who killed the past Moretti mafia capo. The biggest betrayal known in our history caused by the son of the man who killed his oldest friend. His friend who wasn't just the capo but was A father, a grandfather..." No words came to mind. My heart hammered against my chest as a great lump in my throat was formed.
This can't be happening.
Her smirk grew as she looked down into my eyes. she didn't stop or show remorse, she only continued. "And you want to know the most ironic thing ever? The youngest treasured mafia princess for we know is a rat. Has fallen in love with the son heir to the British mafia. The stupid rat not knowing that the son was just doing a continuation of his father's plan. Ryan Carson..." My eyes widened as I couldn't help the tears that flooded my eyes.
"Blaze... or what we now know him as Domonic Carson. His plan was for you to fall in love with him. He knew who you were at the start and when he saw you start to develop feelings. He took that as an advantage."
"Why are you telling me this?" I whispered looking into her accomplished eyes.
"Because I want Blaze, he is mine and if you don't believe me I have evidence." She passed me the file. I instantly scanned and read the papers inside not mentally being prepared.
His writing...
His signature...
His plan...
"Thank you, Chloe, for this information. I am sure you will be informed of what happens." I wiped my eyes and got out of my seat. She shook my hand not bothering to hide her excitement. Just as she left me alone if my heartache a loud bang was heard, and I knew instantly that he was home.
I stormed out of his office and walked into the main entrance my eyes narrowing on him. Cole, Jace and Simon were helping him with his unbalanced steps. It didn't take me long to realise what was happening. His eyes were bloodshot, his pupils were dilated, his words were slurred.
He is drunk
"Everyone out." I gritted. His friends and Jace looked hesitant but with the look on my face. they knew right now was not the right time to question me. Chloe left the apartment smugly knowing quite well that she has destroyed us.
"Princess." He slurred. I stormed towards him with the file in one hand slapped his right cheek as hard as I could. A loud smack was sounded throughout his whole apartment. "What the fu-."
It was a quick trick to sober him up but I was not done. I slapped him again but harder this time. He was about to yell at me but when he saw the tears streaming down my face.
He didn't.
"What's wrong?" He asked softly.
"What's wrong? What the fuck is wrong? How about we start with this!" I screamed in his face slamming the file into his chest. He looked confused but when he looked through the file his eyes widened.
"Princess I can explain-." I slapped him again and stepped away from him. Not bothering to hide my tears.
"No! you lied to me Blaze or should I call you Domonic?" His eyes sunk and his fist tightened.
"Just let me explain why?" I shook my head taking more steps back. "why should I? why should I explain? when because of you I have been torturing myself for months."
He opened his mouth to say something but closed it quickly. He had no excuses; he had no lies to say. "Because of you... I have been trying to decide between my family and you. Do you know how hard that is? But now I know that all this time you have had a plan of your own. You wanted me to fall in love with you just so you can take your revenge on me and my family. Because you wanted to do something that your family couldn't. so explain to me Blaze... WHY?!"
"BECAUSE YOUR FAMILY KILLED MY FAMILY!" He screamed back in my face with tears in his own face. "I-I wanted to kill you and your family. I wanted to make you fall in love with me just so I can break your heart. B-but i-I betrayed myself... I fell in love." He whispered the last bit to himself then took my hands in his.
"I didn't want to tell you because I knew as soon as I did, I would lose you." I averted my eyes avoiding his pleading eyes.
"Congratulations Domonic, you just did." I snatched my hands out of his.
"Please." He whispered again. "Please don't go. I have lost everyone I love and care about. I can't lose you too."
"You should have thought about that before. I didn't plan to fall in love, I just did and turns out that was the biggest mistake of my life." He averted his eyes.
"I am no longer going to do this. I am no longer going to do this for you. Cause you don't deserve me or my protection." He took a step towards me.
"Please listen to me Angelina, all my love for you is true. We can get through this together, I can protect you, I can protect your family. I don't care about my father or revenge. I care about yo-." He was begging me. Blaze was begging. But I need to be strong.
"Don't" I growled. "Don't make promises you can't keep. You're not a part of this anymore Blaze. I don't want to see you again, nor near Jace or my family."
"Angelina." He whispered not bothering anymore to hide his tears.
"If I ever see you again, whether it be near Jace or any of my family members. I promise you Blaze that I would never be so glad to have my hands tainted with your blood."
