Windows rolled down, wind blowing in their hair, singing at the top of their lungs, Sanem and Ayhan are driving down the highway, enjoying the drive, their freedom and each others. The two girls were more like sisters than friends. Always together since their childhood.

"I text Osman and told him we stopped for the night and were getting ready to head back down the road." Ayhan says.

Sanem smiles at her "You know Anne and Baba probably have the note by now."

"I am sure. Are you ok? Do you want to stop and call them?"

Sanem thinks for a minute "No, not yet. Let's get a little further from Istanbul." "Have you decided where we are going?"

"Evet! We will drive until it feels right, like it is the one place we need to be, the one calling our names." she answers.

"So a real adventure?"

"Evet. I am hungry do we have any more of those cakes you bought?"

Ayhan reaches in the back seat and bring them each a cake and a bottle of water. They eat in silence for a few minutes and keep on driving. They drive for a couple more hours.

"Do you think Can knows you have left?"

"I am sure Leyla will tell Emre and he will then tell Can."

"I am sorry that Can was such a butt. You know, Osman, is right, he should have treated you better." she laughs "I wish I could have seen his face when he realized that the cream smelled so bad on Polen." Both girls laugh.

As soon as they come over the next hill, Sanem pulls the car off to the side of the road. Both girls sit in awe, looking at the most beautiful view either girl as ever seen. A charming fishing village at the foot of lush hills. The natural beauty of the area seems untouched. It looks like one of the postcards she had seen in stores. It is so picturesque, quaint and peaceful.

Sanem restarts the car they drive toward the small town. It seems like the history of city is well preserved. Cute cafes intersect with traditional houses. Sanem once again pulls over and they get out to look at the beach, it is calm and clear, almost as if it has not been spoiled by the people who live there. They walk forward, the small pebbles of the beach underneath their feet now. The two friends look at each other knowing that this is their destination.

As they walk along the pebbly sand, they noticed an older gentleman walking along picking up shells. When he notices the two, he raises a hand in hello.

"Gunaydin" he smiles

"Gunaydin" they say in unison.

"You girls on vacation?" he ask.

"No, we are sisters looking for a place to start fresh." answers Sanem "I want to write a book and my abla has come along to make sure I am not alone. Your city is beautiful. Do you mind if I ask where we are?"

"You are in the lovely city of Kas." he answers, at the same time Ayhan's tummy growls. He laughs "It seems at least one of you is hungry."

"we both are." says Ayhan.

"Then follow me and we will sit down to a cup of tea and some breakfast." Both girls start to protest but he won't have it "No, I insist then I can tell you all about my little town."

The girls follow him to a lovely cafe and take a seat outside. They keep looking around, taking in all the sites. He tells the two about his little fishing town. How lovely it is to swim and look under the water to see the real beauty. Diving underneath to see the turtles and colorful fish, then to hike the hills or walk in the ancient ruins. He also boasts about the cute boutiques and cafes. He tells them that neighbors know and take care of each other.

"Your town looks like a postcard, it is perfect. I think we may have found our place, it feels right to me. We come a small mahalla where our neighbors knew everything we did so we will feel right at home." says Sanem.

Ayhan has been looking on her phone, wow, we are nine hours from Istanbul, I didn't realize we had driven that far." she exclaims.

"So, are you from Istanbul?" he asks

"Just right outside of Istanbul." answers Sanem as she kicks Ayhan under the table and gives her a look that says don't say too much. The gentleman laughs as he knows they are trying to hide where they are from, he knows they are in hiding from someone or something but he likes both girls, he sees the kindness and sweetness in their faces.

"Now, we need to find jobs and a place to live." sighs Ayhan.

"I can help with both of those things. Do either of you cook?" Both girls laugh until tears are falling down their cheeks. "I will take that as a no." They both shake their heads.

"Ok, then, no cooking. Let me think about that but first a place to stay." He stands up and throws away his trash, the girls follow suit. "Come with me." They look at each other and Ayhan shrugs her shoulders. They walk down a couple of streets until they come to a cute little house.

"This was my son's house, it was my wife and mine's first home. It has two bedrooms and a nice size bath upstairs and smaller bath downstairs, but the kitchen is small and living area just a little bigger."

"Where is your son?" ask Sanem timidly.

"He has taken a job in America. He comes home very rarely and usually just stays with me. I would like for you girls to stay here." he points across the street to a house that is just a little bigger "that is where my wife and I live. Come on, you can look inside, it is furnished, my son left all his furniture."

He opens the door and they walk in. Sanem falls in the love, the living area is not as big as the one at her anne's house but for the two of them it is great. They walk through and find another bathroom, down the hall before entering the kitchen, she looks at Ayhan, it is small but all they need.

He shows them the stairs so they can look at the bedrooms. Both are about the same size with a nice big closets. Sanem walks to look out the window, there is a balcony off this room and she opens the doors to step out and is happily surprised she can see the coast line they had been walking earlier. She had to have this room, she hoped she could convince Ayhan to let her have it.

She hears Ayhan, "Sanem, come here, I have to have this room, please." She walks to the other bedroom and she sees that it also has a balcony but this one looks at the garden below plus she can see the hills and a bit of the street behind them. Ayhan can do her people watching and not be caught.

"This is your room and I hope you don't change your mind when you see the view from the other room.

"It must have a view of the coast." her friend says. "So that should be your room, I know how you feel about the coast and how it soothes you. Can you hear the waves?"

"I am not sure but I hope so but if not just being able to see the waves is enough for me."

"Let's go check out the garden."

They walked back downstairs and out the kitchen door, the garden had a sitting area and was as peaceful as it was lovely. The two looked at each other "I think this is our home" says Ayhan.

They walk back to where Emir is waiting for them. "We love it" says Sanem "but I am not sure we can afford it."

"Ah, no, I don't want your money, I want someone to take care of this place and make it a home once again." Sanem starts to speak but he talks over her "No, no, just say yes, when you both get on your feet we will talk monies. Ok?'

They finally agree. He shows Sanem where to park and the two friends take off back to the coast so that can bring the car back to the house and unpack.

Ayhan notices a store that sells phones and goes into to buy burner phones for both of them.

"Why did you but a new phone?"

"I think it would be better if we don't use our phones, so no one can track where we are."

Sanem laughs "you need to stop watching detective shows."

Ayha dials Osman's number.

"Hello" Osman says, his voice sounding strange "Ah, Hasan, thanks for calling me, I need to place an order but I have someone in the shop that I need to talk with. Can I call you back or you call me when you are not busy." he is quiet as he listens to Ayhan tell him she will call back shortly. "Great thanks, this is really important."

"Someone was in the store with him, I bet it was Can or Leyla. He wants me to call him back." she says as Sanem looks at her with wide eyes. They continue to the coast, noticing several shops along their walk.

Both girls are deep in thought Sanem thinking this is the place for her to heal and Ayhan how she already misses her home and brother.
